Sightsee558976 (6/5): Our stay served it purpose to close to grieving family. - Location was key for attending a funeral. However, there was not any viable dining options. Apparently this hotel hosts Union Pacific railroad workers so it's not family friendly. As a female I probably wouldn't feel comfortable staying alone. Our hotel room only had the door knob lock.

Elusai (10/5): Stayed here while working in Krotz Springs and will definitely stay here again - The staff was amazing and super friendly. The wifi signal was super weak. Would connect and disconnect from my phone on its own.
Shannon (1/5): Would not recommend. Can’t believe I had to pay for that kind of service - Room was not ready. Reservations were made ahead of time. Stayed 2 nights. Towels not replaced and room was not cleaned. I travel a lot and this is the worse experience I’ve ever had.

This is a hotel that takes railroad workers and probably has a c - Not a lot Toilet not work , vending machine scammed me, WiFi was terrible I had to use hotspot off phone. Outdated shower hardware. HenryM2453 (8/5): A good choice - My wife and I were on a road trip and stopped here for the night. First off while this is not the most impressive hotel there was plenty of well lit parking and a clean nice room waiting. The lady on duty as we checked in, late, was a hoot! With her deep southern drawl (think CAJUN) I could barely understand her. But she was extremely helpful and friendly! Thank you. The room was nice, well laid out and clean. Nothing exceptional but nice. There was a nice little kitchenette in the room that looked pretty well stocked. Bring your own food and dine in. This is mostly a Railroad hotel. Functional and somewhat utilitarian, but still a good choice. The only drawback was that there was no breakfast served. I do like my breakfasts.

bentR6608EI (2/5): Worst stay ever - Horrible place to stay I would leave a 0 if I could. The staff is horrible, the manager fired the few decent workers they did have to hire family that does nothing, looks like the sheets haven't been changed from prior stay, bathroom was not cleaned, there was mold on the walls, and it smelt like gas. Had to wait almost 30 minutes from someone at the desk, and there is a lot of lingering of people whom aren't staying there.

Arthur (2/5): A Motel Worth One-Third of What We Paid - One clerk was on speakerphone for 5+ minutes when we arrived, very rude. TV remote did not work, an attendant used button on side of TV to turn on. We could find no control to turn on the shower. My wife and I are in our 70's, took baths in a slippery bath tub; there were no handles to help lift oneself out. This has to be the last place in America that does not have a breakfast bar. I ate cereal I had brought along out of a cardboard coffee cup in my room. Three days after our stay, a $50 extra charge is still showing on my credit card. I will have to continue checking to verify it is removed. Also, we arrived at around 3:30PM, parking lot was half-full. Few cars were moved by morning. We wonder who lives there.
John (6/5): Average hotel with little to offer - Facility is in an isolated location with almost no commercial properties nearby. Front door to lobby was missing knob; sharp metal edges were taped over so that you could put your fingers through hole to open door. We were in an accessible room that had a very heavy sliding door into bathroom. Door was misaligned in track and when I closed it, I was nearly trapped in the bathroom. It took several minutes for me pulling and pushing from the inside, and my wife helping from the outside, to slide the door open enough to exit. No breakfast option. This property does not deserve the 8.2 rating shown in the Hotels.com app.

Melinda (10/5): Comfortable, clean and quiet. - The room was very comfortable and clean. My only complaints would be about the heaviness of the doors and no liquid coffee creamer. There was a coffee pot in the room, but the coffee was weak & the only creamer available. I know, 1st world issues, but for $100 a night I don’t think it’s too much to ask for a coffee station in the lobby. No handicap person could ever open or close the door to the bathroom.

AGFontenot (10/5): Wonderful Value - We needed an affordable place to crash along our road trip. In exchange for being a little way outside of Baton Rouge, we got a quiet, clean, & comfortable room, a clean bathroom, good linens, good AC, and wonderful service. No breakfast available but we had brought our own, kept it in the fridge and warmed it in the microwave in our room. There are vending machines available and shops just down the road as well if something else is needed. This is a drive I make regularly and would definitely stay again. If you don't need a lot of amenities, but a simple, clean, safe, and affordable place to sleep, bathe, and zap up your frozen breakfast, you can't do better!

WandaH140 (8/5): Very good stay. - Be aware that there is a speed/citation trap in front of the hotel by the local police department. This, I understand, is due to quotas that must to be filled by the local police officers. This frenzy occurs the end and beginning of each month. During this time period you will notice more than usual stops of individuals as they pass through this community. Another factor is the video poker establishment, next door to the hotel, that, also, might be a target due to the drinking that occurs and individuals making the decision to drive under the influence.

Yvette (8/5): - Everything was great except the temperature of the room itself; had a hard time controlling the thermostat and ended up sleeping with a light jacket over my pajamas even though the weather outside was hot and humid....and this was in the month of July! Staff extremely pleasant and very friendly. Room was clean every single day of our three day stay. No room service but there is a diner located a short drive away; too far to walk due to weather being hot and humid. It would’ve been nice to have a swimming pool on the premises.

Clean room, quiet, clean laundry room, staff is so friendly! I will revisit ASAP! As stated by a previous guest, they should add another nightstand. The manager, I think her name is Bridgette (I apologize if I got the name wrong), is so warm and friendly, she makes you feel like an old friend, visiting. Vicki

Verified traveler (6/5): **NEED DOUBLE LOCKS ON THE INSIDE OF THE DOORS** - When we arrived they were having issues with the computer. The two ladies behind the counter were very friendly but couldn't get the computer to work. They had to call the mgr who told them to get our booking information and give us a room and ask us to come down in the morning and sign our paperwork. So we took the key and went to the room. The hotel had been newly remodeled and everything was pretty new but the floors and mirrors had not been cleaned. After we were settled in and went to bed (around 11:30-12:00) the room phone rang. We answered the phone and the night clerk said she needed credit card information. We gave here the security code on the back of the card but she said it wasn't right and asked for us to come down so she could see it. We informed her that we were already in bed and that the previous ladies said that we could handle the paperwork in the morning. She continued to ask that we come down but we refused as the mgr had already said we could comedown in the morning and we were already in bed. We were having this argument at midnight. After that incident we finally got to sleep but were awakened at 4:30am by someone opening the door to our room. The dog growled and I called out so they immediately closed the door. I mentioned it to the mgr the next morning and she said they were probably doing room checks. Since we were not in the system they did not know the room was occupied. Very high security risk not to mention a very good way to get bit or SHOT!!!!

Verified traveler (6/5): It was ok. - Hotel staff were so kind and friendly. Might not have stayed if not for that. Room was clean. Pillows were 12×12 smaller than couch pillows in a pillow case. I had requested a two queen bed room which was not what they had us in, she changed it immediately but the computers were so slow it took 30 minutes. It was a last minute trip for a funeral and there was only one other hotel which I would have slept in my truck before staying there, so not alot of choice. But the kindness of these workers made all the difference.

When we opened the door there was already someone staying there. We went back down only to find they had given our room away. We had to wait another 30+ mins for her to find another room. We ended up staying in a suite with a queen bed and a pull out sofa. The bed was extremely uncomfortable not to mention having to share it with my mother. They did however discount the room. What concerns me most of all is being given access to a room that was already taken. Huge security factor! We made the best of it as we were there for a funeral. Will not stay here again!

Gloria (8/5): Okay - The Hotel is difficult to get to coming from the north. It is on a busy road and there is no turn lane for the 1 entrance to the facility. If you miss it or there are cars behind you, then you must go out of your way to a light and make a U turn. There is no breakfast offered to guest and a small café at their sister hotel(with the same name) back down the road (don't go there!). There is a Truck Stop next door with a café but I was afraid to go over there as I saw nothing but truckers and their visitors. It is about 30 miles from Baton Rouge.

The staff was super nice and the room was very nice and clean. I would recommend this hotel to family and friends if traveling to the Baton Rouge, Port Allen or Plaquemine area.

Parking was adequate with plenty of spaces available. Rates are considerably lower at hotel, would call to book directly with hotel if we were to stay in the area again.
futurehope94 (8/5): 100% Better than West Location - This hotel chain has 2 hotels just miles apart from each other on the same highway. I don't recommend the West location. It is old and nasty. This is the East location and is a new hotel. Livonia is a crew change location for the railroad and the East and West hotel locations is where the crew stay. I was concerned about noise being a problem. It was not. My room was clean, spacious. The sink was outside the bathroom, but was a nice arrangement. With the sink were coffee pot, frig, microwave. In the back of the hotel there is a nice sitting area with grill. There is also a sitting room for groups to gather. You get a free breakfast voucher to Penny's Diner down the street. Penny's Diner is owned by Oak Tree Inn and is in the parking lot of the West location. The only improvement I would suggest is one side of the bed doesn't have an end table. The East location (newer) is more expensive than the West location (old) but it is well worth the price difference. I would NOT stay at the West location.
