Guest Reviews
- Panagiotis (10/5): - This is a beautiful place within 10-15 mins boat ride from the lagoons. The accommodation is spacious and tastefully decorated. The only complaint was a bit of rain coming through the roof at times of heavy rain. Staff cannot be more accommodating, friendly and attentive, making guests feel welcome and right at home. They offer quite a few inclusive excursions to nearby attractions, which is very nice. Food in the restaurant is a bit dear for the Philippines but the taste and quality is excellent. Ideal stay for 3-5 days to explore the beautiful nature around El Nido.
- Michelle (10/5): - Exceptional experience. One we'll forever remember and will return soon (I hope!). Staff were wonderful, and the food, surroundings, complimentary experiences a massive plus.
- Steven (10/5): - Top notch!! Wonderful facilities with attentive staff, great food & dining. Location is close to best sights and gives you an early jump before hordes of tourists show up each day. Bit more expensive than other resorts but we definitely feel it is worth it. Hollywood also agrees as they were there filming an upcoming movie release but didn’t inconvenience us at all.
- Paola (10/5): - Just beautiful, excellent service and amazing food!
- Jamie (10/5): - Most beautiful property I've ever stayed!
- MICHAEL (10/5): - Awesome resort. Best in the world.
- Edward (10/5): - We couldn’t be happier with our stay at the Pangulasian. The resort was beautiful and the staff was remarkable! We especially loved the bespoke experiences they provided. It’s a trip me and my wife will always cherish.
- amit (10/5): Paradise in paradise - Pangulasian resort is paradise with best in class service and is true definition of subtle luxury. Team at resort is super friendly. Eduard the resort manager takes personal care of guests. Executive chef is exceptional and he took care of vegeterian meals for my wife.we enjoyed spa and it was outstanding. Renil was our guide for excursion and was out of the world. Truly enjoyed our stay. Cheers
- Kyna (10/5): - Super love the place service is awesome 😊
- Marco (10/5): - Guest Service and the whole experience was amazingly beautiful
- Jan (10/5): - Gorgeous place in fabulous setting. Great activities. Rooms are amazing.
- Vishali (10/5): - Our stay at Pangulasian was fantastic. The staff were really attentive, helpful and went above and beyond. From willingness to change the food menu, having a super late spa experience so we could fit it in to seeing someone struggling with snorkelling on an excursion and providing assistance so they could see all a turtle.
The private island experience was amazinG, I couldn’t recommend it more!
- Robert (10/5): - Amazing.
- Majid (8/5): - Resort is great and the island that it is on along with its surroundings is gorgeous. Staff is pro. Food is ok. value for money is good.
- Elizabeth (8/5): - Beautiful resort in perfect location for seeing el Nido.
Comfortable beach bungalow with amazing views. Comfortable beds and soft bedding. Always lots of water and a few nice freebies in your room. Incredibly clean and wel
Maintained throughout the resort with excellent turn down.
Food is excellent with a La carte or buffet options at all meals. We tended to go for a la carte as if honest the buffet food was often like warm if not cold which could be improved. They alternated dinner to the pool area which was a lovely environment however this meant from 2pm onwards staff are prepping for dinner so access to pool loungers becomes limited and you feel very on show / getting in the way which was the only downside we get
Of the resort.
The included trips were safe, well organised and planned to get you there ahead of the max crowds which was special.
The trip to big lagoon and especially Italy
Miniloc reef is second to none - and a visit you can only do if staying at an El Nido resort.
Pre arrival
Communication from head office was poor but don't be concerned about your transfer as the resort really are on top of it. Plan to get a little wet from sea spray and wear sunscreen as the boat transfers are in small speedboats as the resort has no major jetty.
Friendly staff who seemed very genuine and also a very present manager is always nice to see.
If you want peace and tranquility in a very special place would not hesitate to recommend.
- Jean (10/5): - Serene. Everyone was incredibly eager to serve. Every need was met before I even had to think about it. The staff is thoughtful and knows each guest by name. The view, the villas and the food were fantastic.
- Omar (4/5): - Beautiful location with good room stock however terrible execution on the hotel management side. This isn’t a cheap hotel so the expectation here on guest experience is understandably high, with that said by fixing a few things this hotel could be great.
Firstly, the food was of a really low standard, with cheap buffet style offer and cheap buffet taste, this really needs to be fixed.
Secondly the hotel will really benefit from a proper guest experience manager. To put this into context, we had thought we had organised a private 4 hour boat trip with 48 hours prior notice and had humbly asked the activities attendant to prepare an itinerary for the tour. Unfortunately in the evening prior to the tour (9pm), the activities manager interrupted us at dinner to tell us the boat was not available for a 4 hour tour and also wanted us to give him our proposed itinerary for the tour (ie he was too lazy to put one together himself / forgot).
On the plus side, the hotel offers a few tour options included in the price and Ryan our tour guide was top tier. Staying at the hotel also has some benefits with priority luggage and lounge at the airport, but needless to say, the chance of us staying at Pangulasian island again is very very slim.
- Lynn (10/5): - The staff was incredible. I have celiac disease which is not easy to accommodate but chef Stanley came to ask me what I wanted at every meal and then made me gluten free safe food so I never got sick and ate well. All guides especially Anton who I interacted with a lot were so attentive to needs and were proactive in pointing out wildlife and sharing facts as well as bringing all the supplies you needed for the day. I can’t say enough good things about Anton. The guides also paddled the tandem kayak for me twice while I just sat - it was ideal! They took pictures and were so professional and kind. Another guide Ryan aLeo assisted with the kids in our group. Beyond the people, the actual island and surrounding area were beautiful. It felt like a movie it was so unreal. We did the complimentary (other than $200 php lagoon fee) resort organized private tours each day and it was a short boat ride to each. This was the most incredible and relaxing trip. I hope to be back.
There was an issue at the end with our Airswift flight off el Nido back to Manila getting cancelled because the small propeller planes don’t have modern technology and can’t fly through haze, which was stressful to be stuck and unable to get back to the resort at night after the cancellation, so just beware of Airswift limitations as a small airline and try to have a day buffer in case you get trapped on the island like we did, even though they say that’s a rare occurrence.
- Lucas (10/5): - Best service. The snorkeling is fantastic. Don't go here if you want to party. Do go here if you love nature, want to relax and see marine life and local lizards and monkeys. Tour A and B are a must, highly recommended do at least one of them. It was a very peaceful week. The food was unreal.
- Christina (10/5): - Incredible stay! Everything was top notch from the food to the staff to the accommodations! We will be back!
- alex (10/5): - Staff are top-notch, friendly, and attentive! What an amazing experience at one of the most gorgeous places on this planet! Highly recommend the sunrise breakfast cruise if weather permits. Kudos to the Pangulasian staff, from housekeeping, to front desk/buggy patrol, to security, to chefs and dining staff, to boatmen and activities staff, and also cocktail and bar staff… they can be proud to be on top of world! It’s a magical property! Will certainly be back.
- Verified traveler (10/5): The only place to stay in El Nido - If you wrote down a list of exactly what you were looking for in a hotel/resort in El Nido, Pangulasian ticks all the boxes. The key thing that makes all the difference is its proximity to the main attractions, Big Lagoon, Small Lagoon, etc. So when I left the resort in a speed boat at 7am, the tourists from the main island do not arrive until 9am or 10am. I had small lagoon all to myself for a full hour and no one showed up. I also enjoyed secret lagoon for a full hour before anyone showed up. These are some of the most beautiful places in the world, and you don't want them ruined with the sight of florescent kayaks and life vests.
El Nido has put restrictions on the number of people that can visit each site, and the combination of sites that can be visited on the same day. So you will need to stay here at least 3 nights as you can't go to big and small lagoon on the same day.
Pangulasian is a spacious beautiful resort on its own private island. The staff are friendly, the rooms are relaxing, the views are heavenly, it really is paradise. Like the Maldives but with views of nature and more greenery. The resort also has a small trail to a view point where you can watch the beautiful El Nido sunrise and sunset.
Finally if you're an early bird, you can go snorkeling right in front of the resort and see sharks. Not just one small shark from a distance. I saw 7 different sharks right in front of me. Don't worry they are not dangerous, and fear you more than you fear them.
- ElizabethEdward (10/5): - Beautiful, stunning, outstanding service and staff!
- ElizabethEdward (10/5): - Outstanding, breathtaking, excellent service and the best resort I have ever been!
- Candice (10/5): - My family and I had an amazing vacation at Pangulasian Resort. The natural beauty of the island and the resort are second to none. The staff at the resort are warm and attentive, and the day spa is divine. A wide range of water activities are available, as well as a breathtaking private beach. The only area that requires improvement is the food quality (the cocktails were fantastic, though). I can’t wait to return!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - A truly unique place and exactly as gorgeous as seen in the images. Get a beach villa. There are tons of activities provided by the hotel to explore nearby lagoons, and islands. I cannot recommend it enough. We stayed three days and I would have loved to extend. We also came during what should be the rainy season, but it also meant enjoying cooler weather and this is the tropics so no such thing as cold! The hotel says that you need to arrange your bookings with them for connecting boats but in fact its so so well organized from the instant you book your ticket with Air Swift to El Nido airport. Air Swift is a great airline and El Nido airport is wonderful clean and slick resort airport. It's a smooth and VIP service. They take your bags, give you a sticker and place you in the lounge and you're pampered all the way until you arrive to a very hospitable staff reception. The only fault in this beautiful, romantic and enjoyable spot of a hotel is that the food was not that good, breakfast was fine but I suffered for lunch and dinner options. It was really barely acceptable and very pricey and for a remote location it really needs to get better especially for that price.
- Paul Stendahl (10/5): BEST - Best resort I've ever been to. The service is amazing and the place is beautiful. I proposed here, and I would like to especially thank Jenn, Jeff, Alvin, Mikka, and everyone else who helped out. Your efforts were truly commendable. Thank you and I hope to go back soon!
- Maya (10/5): Great honeymoon spot - Was there on honeymoon. The island is beautiful. The staff are great and incredibly helpful- they went above and beyond. The rooms are fabulous and very nice. The property is lovely. The complimentary activities were perfect. The food was delicious and many options. We had a great stay and would recommend anyone go there. Perfect for families or couples. Also worth mentioning that the operations were seamless and was very easy to travel to thanks to the resort.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Best of the palawan hotels - Great honeymoon. Lovely island. The staff is phenomenal and goes above and beyond. The rooms were great and the entire property was very nicely managed. The food is great. The complimentary activities are really nice and well worth the costs. Would definitely recommend to all.
- Joyce (8/5): - The accommodations are luxurious. I like their emphasis on environmental awareness
- Nessa (10/5): - Lovely, rustic resort - what stood out most was the spectacular service. Everyone was nice, from the room cleaners to our assigned guide to the people in the restaurant to the doctor on call (who assisted our little boy.)
- Verified traveler (10/5): Very comfortable and on the whole excellent stay - Excellent once sun loungers on the beach was sorted out
- Castabur (10/5): Best place in paradise! - What can I say, one of the best hotels in Philippines and El Nido. Pick up from the airport was timely and comfortable, and the 30 minutes speedboat ride to the hotel was fun. We arrived and they were waiting with a drink and cold towels and gave us a quick tour. The 42 villas are well located and are big. We stayed in the beach villa, which I recommend over the canopy villas. They give you a hat and flip flops which is nice. The breakfast was ok, not great, but the food in the pool and the restaurant was great and not that expensive. Happy hour drinks were good value at £3 each. The daily trips include island hoping (caves and snake island) and small and big lagoon, all perfectly organised. Also complimentary was a catamaran ride, paddle board, snorkelling, windsurf and kayaks. Location is great as the beach is beautiful, however, if you were thinking about popping to El Nido town for the evening, think again. It is a bit too far, so we stayed every evening in the hotel which is nice but bit repetitive. You can go to other El Nido resorts, but Pangulasian is the best.
In summary, we really enjoyed our stay, perfect for couples or group of friends. Only things to change (constructive feedback): better breakfast, spa a bit too expensive compared to other hotels.
- Maricar (10/5): staff - the staff were amazing, amazing view and the activities were like no other
- Patricia (10/5): Best island in the world - Again beyond my expectation, this is my second visit at the resort with my family and I'm loooking forward to come back again next year.
- Pierre (10/5): impressive! - Pangulasian Resort is the best hôtel in El Nido, and El Nido is one of the most beautiful destination in the world... This is a good summary ! My travel app tells me that I've spent 161 nights in a hôtel since I'm using it, for business or leisure trips... I can say that the 2 nights spent at Pangulasian Resort were the best of all. The location is magnificent, and the service is almost perfect. Being able to provide this level of service in this remote heaven is simply impressive ! Many thanks to Paul and his team.
- Ben (10/5): Island paradise - Really a fantastic and unforgettable place. Free daily activities were a massive bonus and should be taken advantage of as much as possible. Very friendly staff who go out their way to ensure your stay is a memorable one. Would not hesitate to recommend.
- Oscar (10/5): Super enjoyable trip - We stayed for 6 nights and had a fantastic trip. The room was lovely and the island is absolutely stunning with great views of other Palawan islands and amazing sunsets.
A real hightlight was the food which was delicious and there was a large range to choose from.
The staff were all so charming and friendly and were genuinely doing their best to give you a great trip.
Finally there was a range of 5 or so different daily excursions / activities which were included in the price. On top of this there was great snorkelling just off the beach and free to use equipment on the beach like paddle boards and kayaks. Watching the sunset on a paddle board and being able to look down a the coral reef was really special.
- Maria (10/5): Truly the best island in the world! - -Spectacular, amazing and breathtaking view
-Most relaxing vacation
-Paradise
-Piece of heaven on earth
-Experience like no other
-Showcased exceptional Filipino hospitality
-Best vacation ever
-Treated is like royalty, we celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary and Regina with reaervation and Jen food and beverage manager worked hard to ensure that we had a magical night. I only communicated my food choices but they efficiently work hard in providing us the perfect set up, our own waiter and even a singer to sing our fave love songs. It truly was perfect can't get any more romantic.
-Well organized activities- they think of every detail to make u feel safe and special- unending supplies of towels, snacks and beverage upon arrival and during lagoon and island tours. Mark the tour guide just set the bar so high. He warmly welcomed us and made us feel like we were family. I have fear of ocean water and when he saw that I was anxious during the speed boat ride he immediately moved me to the back and constantly reassured me and kept me dry. He also was our guide for the sunrise hike and he made sure we were safe and comfortable guiding us by the hand. Mark exemplifies excellent customer service. Jo another tour guide helped me conquer my fear. Because of his reassurance and persistence and loving kindness he was able to convince me to try snorkeling. I was terrified and failed so many times but he kept on pushing me to try until I succeeded. I am beyond ecstatic. I was able -
- Verified traveler (10/5): Heaven on earth! - This place is like a paradise. Definitely a must stay! Couldn't fault it at all.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This was paradise. We booked the beach villa resort, which has access to our own private beach in front. Food was ok, the food bar was actually better than the restaurant's. We did room service as it was the same price to dine in. We also did the in room massage everyday. It was a decent price, half the cost as it would be here in the US. Although pricey, it shows in the service and access to the most beautiful places we've been. This is worth saving up.
- Matthew (10/5): Absolutely Stunning! - I spent my honeymoon at this most wonderful place and cannot rave enough about it! Unparallelled quality, service and beauty. Food was outstanding. We stayed in a wonderful beach villa and had unlimited access to snorkeling in the pristine ocean right outside the door. I have memories that I will cherish for some time to come. Service was excellent. Everyone was polite, professional and accommodating. I will definitely be back for a return visit.
- George Adam (10/5): Paradise. It may be a cliche but this is it! - Stay here. You will not regret it!
Gay friendly. In fact just really friendly.
We loved our Canopy Villa.
They really try to look after you here with a laid back luxury style.
- Yosuke (10/5): Compact and elegant resort. - Resort facilities were basically all clean and well maintenanced.
Service was overall good, but with some exception depending on the staff.
Location was great in front of beach, while for view from the hilltop villa was surrounded by trees, limiting the ocean view scenery.
- William R (10/5): Wonderful small luxury hotel in amazing location - The Pangulasian ranks with our favorite luxury resorts in French Polynesia, Thailand, and Hawaii. The location is in a beautiful collection of islands, all in a nature preserve. Amazing views everywhere you look. Take the included island hopping and lagoon tours for even more amazing sights. Lots of boating - you'll probably be on 3 of them before you even get there. Climb to the top of the island (hot, but not difficult hike) where a small observation tower provides 360-degree views of the islands. Staff is very friendly, very attentive, very good. Food was great, servings were large. Enjoyed a candlelight dinner on the beach. Lots of wildlife on the island, including monkeys and sea monitors. Nice beach, which we often had to ourselves. No views from our canopy "treehouse" room, but private with huge bath area. Pool bar serves good drinks and lunch items. Breakfast is a huge offering of many items - excellent. Pool is refreshing and perfectly maintained. This is an outstanding small luxury hotel in a fantastic location. It seems a little pricey until you factor in what your are getting and where you are. It is worth every cent. Property is very well maintained and fits into the location. Fresh fruit in room and small treats at night were nice touches. Room and amenities were excellent. Take beach shoes for boat trips and plenty of insect repellant - you are in the jungle! Couldn't think of any useful suggestions for improvement - awesome as is.
- Jason (10/5): Paradise Found! - My wife and I were originally hesitant about staying at Pangulasian given the high price point and the relative remoteness of its location.
Wow, were we glad we took the gamble! We have stayed at several different five star boutique hotels in SE Asia and Pangulasian sets the standard for private luxury. The entire resort is tastefully designed and maintained to even the most discerning eyes. The resort is quite spacious, so much so it was as if we had the entire island and resorts facilities to ourselves. The quality of the food and drinks was excellent, and we thought the pricing was quite fair given the private setting ($10 burgers, $3 beers, etc.). Our beach villa was massive and opened up immediately to the gorgeous beach and surroundings (and complementary water sport activities). The service was incredibly attentive and thoughtful, without being overbearing at all.
If you're looking for a bustling nightlife or an array of dining options, pick a different island. If you're looking for the absolute best in boutique luxury in paradise, look no further than Pangulasian. There is no way you would leave disappointed.
- David (10/5): Paradise in Paradise - Our stay here exceeded all expectations. The staff, the location, the privacy, the always available equipment, the food, the cleanliness, and the welcoming spirit were all perfect. The infinity pool was spectacular. We will come back to enjoy this very unique and wonderful place.
- Verified traveler (10/5): GREAT, but... - Everything was GREAT, the only thing that was unpleasant is that the airline "ITI" (that is owned by the same group of the hotel) that is the only airline that can and flyes there, changed our flight from 1:00pm to 8:00am, giving us no reason. We had to cancel a private tour that we had for that day before leaving...
- AM (10/5): Superb!!! - It was a great stay❤️ The Island~ wanted to go back to this beautiful place.
- Frederick (10/5): Beautiful Hotel - Amazing location and great staff
- Verified traveler (10/5): fabulous! - a wonderful stay, top service and taken care of every step of the way.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Amazing customer service! Nice beach and villas - Everyone was so nice and the staff really want to please you and make your stay memorable. Facilities are modern and very luxurious.
