- 752vancec (10/5): Highly recommended by us! - Travelling 35hrs from Western Australia and arriving late in the evening, our party of 3pax needed somewhere with 24hr reception, clean comfortable rooms, good security, included breakfast, and walking distance to dining options. Holiday Inn Express & Suites in Monroe, NC catered to us perfectly. They organised a family room far away from internal elevator noise, room quality was great with everything in good working order, good secure premises, and plenty of options for breakfast included in our room rate. Dining just next door (<100m away) at a buffet style restaurant suited us nicely, and a pharmacy/supermarket (again <100m away) help sell this hotel as a very attractive option for travellers needing to stay in Monroe. We opted to stay here as we needed to attend a graduation function at nearby Wingate University and this was easily the best hotel within 15min radius via Uber. Very pleased with our choice to stay here and would happily recommend to others. Thankyou to staff and management for a very pleasant stay.

What a lovely variety of healthy options to enjoy, including but not limited to yogurts, fruits, juices, coffee, cereals, biscuits & gravy, fresh scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, and cinnamon muffins. Thank you. The entire hotel was spotlessly clean. Our rooms were large and comfortable. The mattress was nice and firm. The shower in particular was exceptional. And all of the staff were professional and helpful. Most of all, we'd like to give a shout out to Michelle at the front desk. She was so welcoming and friendly! We were in town for a wedding and when we saw her after our return, she asked with a huge, friendly smile, "How was the wedding?" She's a lovely person and a huge asset to your hotel! She made us feel like we were guests in her own home. Bonus Benefit: We had never patronized a Golden Corral before, and there is one right next to the hotel. Simple walk across the parking lot. Our hotel offered a 10% discount at Golden Corral, so we went. WOW! What a buffet of fresh and fabulous food at a very reasonable price! Nothing. The entire stay was lovely. We will absolutely stay at this property again when we come to Charlotte/Monroe!

- si352 (2/5): Strict cancellation policy, no exceptions for weather - My flight was canceled due to severe weather, which was completely outside of my control. I called the hotel as soon as possible to explain the situation and asked if they could either cancel the reservation or provide a credit for a future stay. Unfortunately, the staff was unwilling to offer any flexibility, cancellation, or credit, despite the circumstances. I understand policies exist, but I was disappointed by the lack of understanding or effort to help. Just be aware when booking that this location may strictly enforce cancellation policies, even when travel disruptions are caused by weather emergencies.
