• corinne (6/5): Bon séjour grâce à l’efficacité et la bonne humeur de Hom - Le personnel était très à l’écoute et très serviable spécialement Hom qui a elle seule ensoleille la réception et le restaurant de l’hôtel. Elle est sympathique et très efficace! La chambre était grande et propre, le mobilier un peu obsolète et ça sentait un peu l’humidité et le moisi…. la salle de bain totalement entartrée du sol jusqu’au ciel de douche… vraiment pas du niveau d’un 5 étoiles et beaucoup trop cher rapport qualité/prix. Le moment proposé sur l’île en face pourrait être sympa si l’île était nettoyée, c’est une vraie poubelle et le sable infesté de puces! Lorsqu’on est allé à la pharmacie ils nous ont demandé quel était notre hôtel… et ont confirmé qu’il y a des puces de sable… donc pas correct de la part de l’hôtel d’envoyer ses clients là-bas en sachant qu’après ils en auront pour 10 jours d’antihistaminiques pour soulager les démangeaisons infernales
• Léa (4/5): - Nous n’avons pas passé la nuit là-bas, cependant il y avait de beaux animaux. Quand nous sommes arrivés on nous a donné une chambre classique alors que j’avais payé une chambre premium. Ils ont fini par nous donner la bonne chambre et Donc le jacuzzi n’était pas prêt, on a mis plus d’une heure pour le remplir. Après cela, j’ai voulu prendre une douche, mais il n’y avait pas d’eau chaude.

• Arabella (7/5): Charming and helpful staff. Hom was amazing. - The staff. Ladies on reception were amazing. Nothing was too much trouble and they smiled all the time. We booked a sea view suite and were expecting a balcony and hot tub as listed on the room description. We paid a lot more than a standard room and the only difference was it had a small sitting room.

• Kym (9/5): Relax and Unwind a little luxury in the quiet part of Ko Chang - A smaller boutique resort on the quiet side of Koh Chang (which we were well aware of). There is no beach front here however the pool was lovely. Huge soft beds, large bathroom includes bath and front decking. Friendly staff just remember not a much English though but that didn't stop us from communicating. Feeding the fish and turtles at their restaurant was novel and there was the ability to use kayaks and take a free boat across to a neighbouring island if desired. Recommend hiring car or motor bike if coming to this resort to enable you to explore the area. 15 minute driving approx in different directions to explore Long beach also the ghost ship or head another direction Salak Phet Seaford restaurant and the fishing village with boats trips. This is a place to relax, unwind without crowds and picturesque garden with the rooms nestled in definitely stay two nights minimum so that you can leisurely explore. Thoroughly enjoyed. Honestly nothing bad, it was lovely, the food had both options Western and Thai was cooked well and definitely not overpriced for a resort, it just can not compete with some other places we personally have been too. Don't expect a big buffet breakfast spread, it's a la carte (menu cook to order) which we totally appreciate not to waste food when there are smaller number of guests that can stay at this resort. This is the bonus of this type of resort sitting without hustle and bustle.

• Mirco (8/5): - Das Hotel ist leider etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Es sieht so aus, als ob es nur noch vor sich hin dümpelt. Es hatte sicher einmal größeres Potential in den Anfangsjahren. Dafür dass das Hotel 5* hat, sieht es leider danach nicht mehr aus. Eher 4*. Das Hotel ist jedoch groß und hat schöne geräumige Zimmer und tolle Betten. Der Service ist gut, die Angestellten sind sehr bemüht. Das Frühstück, welches als reichhaltiges Frühstück angepriesen wird, ist in Ordnung, aber leider a la carte und keine riesige Auswahl. Das Hotel liegt sehr abgelegen und es gibt kaum Transportmöglichkeiten. Außerdem gibt es keinen Strand in unmittelbarer Nähe. Es gibt einen Boot Service der gratis ist, welcher aber auch an gewisse Zeiten gebunden ist. Im allgemeinen ist zu sagen, das Hotel ist okay, aber man sollte wissen, worauf man sich einlässt.

It was comfortable and well-maintained. Facilities: The hotel was nice but slightly worn, with some areas marked as “defective.” There’s no beach at the hotel, but they offer free boat trips to a nearby island with a small beach and jungle terrain. While the island was interesting, it felt cluttered and unorganized. The pool area was small but clean and relaxing, with hammocks and sun loungers. Service: The staff were friendly and helpful, especially the receptionist, who stood out for her warm and welcoming attitude. There were minor issues with orders, but they resolved them quickly and with a smile. Drawbacks: The biggest downside was that smoking was allowed at breakfast tables and near the sun loungers, which was unpleasant for non-smokers. • Andreas (2/5): - Von insgesamt 19 Zimmern waren nur zwei belegt, über die Hälfte aller Einrichtungen des Hotels waren nicht verfügbar, defekt oder so zerschlissenen brauchbar, dass sie nicht nutzbar waren. Statt eines Frühstücksbuffets,gab es nur eine sehr geringe Auswahl. Das Hotel entsprachen keinster Weise den Versprechungen, die auf den Bildern gemacht wurden. Das Hotel hatte keine fünf Sterne vielleicht nicht mal einen.

This is a beautiful resort in the middle of nowhere, which was just the getaway we were looking for. We did get a taxi to White Sand Beach one day and I was glad we didn’t stay there because it was too touristy. At night at Parama, all you can hear are birds and frogs. Paradise.

Could see the place needed a freshen up but nothing that would stop me going back

If you are looking for the parties, don't book this hotel. This is a lovely quiet place, great for relaxing. Kudos to Pen and the lady on the front desk at all times who's name I sadly didn't get. Bath was amazing! Nice touch was fresh cut fruit every evening left in the fridge in the room. Would also like to reccomend Rainbow House Cafe for authentic Thai food (just outside the hotel) The WiFi was patchy and dropped at times.
• Elaine (9/5): My DIL is already planning a return visit, which says it all. - The location was tranquil, with accommodating staff. The sandy beach on a nearby island was fabulous. My grandson loved the aquarium, particularly the manta ray and the turtles. It was so much fun to feed them. Some communication problems, which were all resolved.
• Bertrand (8/5): Very good - It's on a very quiet side of the island so not many tourists around which can be a plus but also make it difficult to find restaurants opened around. The snorkeling activity offered was really expensive compared to the other side of the island where all tourists go ( like 4 to 5 times the price!). The only activity included in our stay was a short boat trip to go to a deserted island but unfortunately the island was literally full of trash and old abandoned buildings, so not really worth it. The staff was really nice and helpful, food was good too and the room was very comfortable. Overall a good relaxing stay but I guess I would choose a different side of the island if I had to go back to Koh chang.

There are nice fishes and turtles swimming in the hotel ponds. You could use kayaks and a private island for free too.

• Elisa (6/5): Mauvais rapport qualité prix - Nous étions seules dans l’hôtel pour ce séjour d’une seule nuit, le cadre était très agréable mais le service laissait à désirer sur pas mal de points pour un hôtel de ce standing, pas d’eau chaude, télé en panne que le personnel n’a pas réussi à réparer, petit déjeuner très très succinct, et pour couronner le tout, nous nous sommes vus extrêmement pressées de partir et de payer 20min avant le Check out prévu, l’hôtel a également essayé de nous faire payer plus cher qu’annoncé le prix du taxi.. en somme, mauvais rapport qualité prix
• andrew (2/5): Bait and switch !!!! - Venus flytrap is the first thing that came to my mind. After driving a hour to get our to this very remote location. I made the reservations 30 minutes before arriving without looking very closely at the reviews. First time to Koh Chang. 5000 plus hotels in my life and I have never seen a bait and switch like this place. They are desperate and lack honesty. Their photos and reality and two different things. Poor staff, the location is 1 hour from ANYTHING . You are held captive here. I like quiet I like peace, but this joint is creepy far from anything except millions of mosquitoes. Hotel is old, not well taken care of. No security, poor wifi, bad food. Whatever the staff tells you is the exact opposite of truth. Bad hard bed, paper thin walls, dark cave rooms. Musty smelly, bad water pressure, budget soap amd shampoo, no phones in the rooms, you have to use your cell phone to call the front desk. Hot with poor A/C and ventilation. Crappy tv with no English channels. Staff hammers to sell you tours constantly. Dirty rooms and poorly maintained grounds. We left the first second we had a chance. They said they would give us a refund, all the had to go is call Hotels.com. We did and then they fought hotels.com and kept our money. These people are desperate and pathetic. Don't ruin your vacation at this hotel. You have been warned!!
• Tatiana (10/5): Спустя 2 года :) - Были 3 раз, за 2 года которые прошли между посещениями отель подустал, это аасается только номеров пожалуй. В следующий раз с большим удовольствием поселимся в стандартные номера (они новее), номера с главном корпусе красивые, с большой ванной комнатой и отличным душем, но время делает свое дело. По прежднему отличный сервис, забота во всем. Отель обновил лодку, на которой они возят на пляж, пляж сейчас тот же что и в самом начале функционирования отеля, до этого они возили на остров гораздо дальше и хуже, поэтому здесь ставлю плюсы, молодцы что вернули этот пляж :) Завтраки стали в разы хуже, тут наверное самое большое разочарование в этот раз нас постигло :( сыры и нарезки пропали вообще, вафли стали делать из того же теста , что и панкейки. Омлеты и яйчницы перестали делать по индивидуальному заказу:( ну и много чего еще пропало с завтрака, даже чай теперь не просто раздобыть. Вообщем завтрак как раньше на три часа с полным релаксом и красивыми видами, превратился в просто завтрак со стандартным шведским столом, не самым плохим по меркам Чанга. Персонал отеля по прежднему милый и старающийся помочь во всем, тут изменений не увидели. Подводя итог: отель старается держатся на уровне, сюда по прежднему хочется возвращаться!

• Jeff (8/5): - Great staff. Great facilities. Fish in salt water tank are amazing. Great location to motorbike to Long Beach and Monument Beach. This is in a less developed area. We saw reptiles of significant size on property,which was neat. They have some captive exotic fish and sea turtles that I would prefer were freed, but in nice zoo-like habitat. Give free boat ride to island across the bay. Boat ride is nice, Island Beach is not very pleasant, though. There may be better island Beach a little further if you pay.
• jannie (8/5): Smukt hotel - Vi kom først på den nye sæson, værelset vi havde bestilt var fint men mørkt og lugtede ludt fugtigt. Vi kunne for en billig penge opgradere, hvilket vi gjorde. Fik det skønneste værelse ved hovedhuset, med lille terrasse ved en sø. Rent og velduftende, kæmpe stor og lækker seng. Alt var i top, dog var der meget få gæster på stedet/øen da det varførst på sæsonen hvilket var lidt kedeligt. Personalet var meget opmærksomme og hjælpsomme.
• Andreas und Kim (4/5): In die Jahre gekommenes Resort... - Vor Jahren war dieses Resort bestimmt sehr schön. Jetzt macht es leider einen etwas herunter gekommenen Eindruck. Im Bad war die Dusche mit den Armaturen total verkalkt. In der Dusche haben diverse Fliesenelemente gefehlt. Das Zimmer wurde zwar morgens aufgeräumt und auch zum Abend das Bett aufgedeckt und ein Teller Obst serviert, aber leider wurde beim morgendlichen Putzen des Zimmers der Fußboden nicht richtig gereinigt. Eine kleine tote Eidechse lag mehrere Tage unter dem Tisch am Fenster und wurde nicht bestattet bzw. entsorgt. Unschön war auch der Umstand sich die Schuhe beim Betreten des Haupthauses (Lobby und Restaurant) ausziehen zu müssen. Barfuß lief und saß man dann in herunter gefallenen Essensresten oder den dazu obligatorischen Ameisenstrassen. Diese Angewohnheit sollte unbedingt überdacht werden. Das Personal ist leider auch nicht so freundlich wie sonst in Thailand üblich. Andere Hotelgäste hatten einen nicht zu überhörenden Disput mit dem Management aufgrund angeblich falscher Angaben in der Hotelbeschreibung. Es gibt wohl noch ein etwas abgelegenen weiteren Teil des Resorts. Zum Essen ist man dann wohl zu Fuß etwas länger unterwegs. Die Preise im Restaurant sind überhöht. Wir haben ein solches Preisniveau auf Kuh Chang nicht noch mal angetroffen, auch in weit besseren Resorts. Nebenan wird derzeit ein neues Hotel gebaut - Bauarbeiten!
• K (6/5): At first it seemed great. - This is a very well kept place, great staff, a bit far from anything but that can be a good thing too. They have bikes you an use to get around but all the bikes are in disrepair. The rooms are a good size and clean with most everything you would need, but getting into be we found the worst mattress I have ever had in 16 years traveling around Thailand, with the high cost of this place there is no excuse for that. It was like sleeping directly on metal springs digging into your body.
• Danilo (8/5): Ottima struttura mal gestita - Struttura elegante con macroscopiche carenze, quali nelle camere mancanza di luce al letto, scalette al piano superiore senza corrimano e con luce interrotta e non deviata. Piscina con poco spazio per prendisole e mancanza di bar. Mancanza di spiaggia ma buon servizio quotidiano di barca veloce per ottime spiagge vergini su isole vicine. Eccezionale specchio d'acqua con superba varieta' di fauna marina.
• Verified traveler (8/5): Excellent view and setup - The hotel has excellent view and setup. But it locates at the east side of island. It's hard to find taxi. So you'd rent motorcycle, otherwise you have to rely on the transportation from hotel, which is expensive. The restaurant in hotel provides decent food and service. It may sound a bit expensive than other places in the island. But the food quality is very good, and worth it. Overall we are satisfied for our stay. The hotel management needs to improve service, though some employees are very helpful. On the day before my flight from Trat airport, I checked with their manager, who told me only 2 hours ahead are enough, which is very wrongful. I left hotel 3 hours ahead our flight, but the time was not enough. The driver helped to lead us to another ferry, so we barely caught our flight.

• Thobias (8/5): En vecka på Parama - Mycket trevligt hotell. Beroende på vad man vill ha ut av sin semester så kanske det ligger lite ödsligt. Sängarna var som vanligt i Thailand mycket hårda även kudden.
• Tino (10/5): Hübsches ruhiges Hotel - Es ist eine sehr schönes , kleines und ruhiges Hotel . Man kann sich super entspannen. Die Zimmer sind sauber und man kann super schlafen . Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend . Man braucht aber ein Moped oder ein Auto, das man die Insel erkunden kann . Das Hotel bietet alles an .

• marina (6/5): - Nous avons été relativement déçu par cet hôtel pour les facilités d'accès. En effet il est primordial de savoir que rien n'est accessible à pied. Il faut donc louer un scooter car le taxi de l'hôtel est excessivement cher et pas toujours de bonne prestation ( pas de clim ni de ceintures de securite. Pour la plage, possibilité d'une navette bateau gratuite à partir de l'hôtel. Malheureusement la plage était bien encombrée par divers déchets plastiques.... Le prix proposé par l'hôtel pour visiter les différentes îles alentour est juste indécent. La carte des repas est assez limité et de qualité moyenne. Bref si l'hôtel en lui même est très sympa ( chambre, piscine) on peut regretter les prix excessifs.
• Laila (4/5): - My expectation was big but it failed. Pillow menu and bed making service??? Just a few more pillows than usual. Our room room schould have sewiew and garden wiew. If we pressed our cheek to the window we could see the see and the garden. If we just stand in the room and was looking out we saw big caterers factory. Wery wery loudy. The first morning we had a family with a small kid next to us. When he started to cry 6am it was like the kid was in our room. The next night someone forgot to shut down the tv. First early in the mornig it was quiet. My husband called reception about that but nothing happend.
• Tatiana (10/5): Романтичный уединенный отель - отель почти в глуши. Наверное, не всем это понравится. До пляжа ехать на лодке 30 минут. Пляж уединенный. Море в этом месте очень мелкое. Купаться сложно. Отель стоит прямо в бассейне с рыбами и морскими черепахами. Вечером в ресторане очень романтично. Вообще, вода на территории везде: пруды, ручейки и т.д. В номере была кофемашина, приносили тарелку фруктов. Это частично компенсировало скромный завтрак. Несмотря на некоторые неудобства, жизнь и в отеле, и в окружении мне понравилась. Воспоминания самые хорошие.
• robert (8/5): 2 boenden hör till samma hotell. Standard och prem - Bra hotell för ändamålet. Lugn o ro. Inget för party. Gratis aktiviteter som kajak och en väldigt fin båttur till en öde ö för snorkling och bad. Vackert.
• Verified traveler (6/5): Abgelegenes Hotel ohne Strand - Das Hotel ist sehr abgelegen. In der näheren Umgebung keine Restaurants oder Geschäfte. Man muss 30 km bis White Sand fahren, um wieder am Leben teilhaben zu können. Das Hotel ist in die Jahre gekommen. Wie das Hotel einen 5 Sterne Status erreicht hat, ist uns unbekannt. Der Swimmingpool ist nicht sauber und der Bereich um den Pool auch total lieblos. Matten und Handtücher für Liegen muss man selber holen. Beach-Bar nicht in Betrieb. Die Privatinsel hat mit dem Bild nichts zu tun. Ist lediglich ein kleiner schattiger Strand ohne Liegen oder Handtücher (wie auf Bild) zu dem man mit einem Boot gefahren wird. Bis auf das Restaurant fanden wir das Hotel enttäuschend.
• Halina (10/5): tolles hotel - es war klasse. die lage ist sehr sehr schlecht da man mit deinem roller bei 100kmh rund eine stunde braucht um zum centrum zu kommen aber das hotel ist schön
• Olga (8/5): Комфортный и ухоженный отель. - Отель супер! Дизайн шикарный. Очень огромная и удобная кровать и подушки, вставать не хотелось. Ресторан находится практически в море, замечательная романтическая обстановка и вкусная еда. Минус что нет пляжа у отеля, но возят на лодочке на близлежащий дикий пляж с чистым морем и белым песком. Хороший бассейн. Есть фитнес зал с необходимым оборудованием. В целом хорошо

• Marc (6/5): - Im grossen und ganzen sehr entäuschend! Für den Preis besser was anderes buchen...sie werden entäuscht sein. Das einzige was toll ist-die Hotelanlage und das Pool!!

• Verified traveler (10/5): Remote location - very nice hotel and helpful staff but in a relatively far remote location in the south east of Koh Chang. Ideal for a short stay. There are no good beach near the hotel, not even in their private island off the coast.
• W. (8/5): Prima resort op het rustigste deel van het eiland - Mooi resort op zeer rustig deel van het eiland. Goede faciliteiten, het nadeel van het ontbreken van een zandstrand werd gecompenseerd door de gratis mogelijkheid met een bootje naar het nabij liggende eiland ( met zandstrand) overgezet te worden.
• Jonas (8/5): Nice hotel with room for improvements - The Hotel is located in the outskirts of Koh Chang. It far from most everything else so renting a moped (available at the hotel) is advised. The Hotel has a magnificent view over the water and the surrounding area is very beautiful with a green (mangrove) touch. There are some mosquitos in the area but it wasn't too bad. The hotel has a nice pool area with hang mats and sunbeds. The pool is slimy on the bottom and they should really address that issue. There is no direct beach but via a short boat trip (provided free by the Hotel) you can get to a private beach on a nearby island. The beach was unfortunately full of “garbage” and not maintained. The staff is friendly but not skilled in service even English was a problem. It was small things like that they never come to the pool area to offer drinks, do not ask if the food is ok or something more is wanted, white wine was sold out. We had an accident in the night and needed new bed sheets but that was not available so our son had to sleep in our bed. The hotel have a sign with island excursions but when inquired they were not available. The food was ok (mix of Thai / Italian menu) but rather pricy. Breakfast was good especially the days it was possible to order from a menu. The cleaning in the room was ok but some improvement needed. We stayed for a week and they never cleaned the bathroom sink / shower glass. Overall we had a nice stay but the Hotel needs some more (experienced) staff to really shine!

• Verified traveler (6/5): Nice resort but poorly managed - The resort itself is fabulous, but the service and management is bad. Staff is tired and not motivated. The good in restaurant is not worth of money at all. You get better good from local restaurants around for one fourth of the price. We also had bad luck. Ac and the boat to private beach broke down during our stay, but the way we were treated in situation wasn't the right way.

• Benjamin (10/5): Beautiful resort! - We had a nice time here for our anniversary. Stunning views of the Gulf of Thailand and very affordable rates. Taxi ride from ferry pier to resort is expensive (1000 baht), so be prepared.
• Verified traveler (10/5): super Hotel in traumhafter Umgebung - sehr schönes Hotel in traumhafter Umgebung. Zwar ohne Strand aber mit den Boot sind viele menschenleere Strände auf den nahe gelegenen Inseln schnell erreichbar.

• James & Rachel (10/5): Very Relaxing Stay! - We loved our stay at Parama. It is a bit of a trek from the pier and unfortunately taxis are quite expensive on Ko Chang, however, once you get there, it is beautiful. And if you're looking to be away from all the crowds, this is the perfect place for you. The hotel does offer a complimentary shuttle to white sand beach from 3-6 pm every day upon request if you need a store or want to do some shopping/get a massage on the beach (recommended). We felt like the hotel offered a lot for a fairly reasonable price (complimentary breakfast, complimentary boat shuttle to a private island, where their beach is located, welcome drink upon arrival, and complimentary shuttle in the afternoon. All staff were very friendly as well.
• Steve (10/5): Parama Ko Chang Feb 2014 - This is the most beautiful location - quiet and very scenic, and the hotel itself is a wonderful environment, set on the shoreline and surrounded by pools of fish, turtles etc. It's also a lovely construction and both the common areas and the bedrooms are very well appointed. Staff are very friendly, welcoming and helpful. In short, a perfect place for a getaway, and completely unlike the horrid commercialized parts of Ko Chang on the west side of the island.
