• Emma (10/5): Brilliant hotel to explore Georgetown from - Wonderful heritage hotel with friendly and helpful staff. The room was spacious, well designed and very comfortable. The little snacks and gifts were a lovely touch. The property is well located to explore Georgetown from and provides an oasis from the heat of the day. The breakfast was delicious but would be great to have a local option permanently on the menu (there was a rotating Asian special every day which we opted for and was very tasty)

• Nicole (9/5): Ich würde das Hotel jederzeit wieder buchen und auch weiterempfehlen - Beim Check-in wird sich sehr viel Zeit genommen, man bekommt Stadtpläne mit Sehenswürdigkeiten, street Art und empfohlene Restaurants. Wir waren bestens ausgestattet. Das Zimmer war in der zweiten Etage und leider gab es keinen Aufzug, aber auch hier löst das Hotel das Problem. Gepäck wird gebracht bzw. geholt. De kamers zijn smaakvol ingericht, het zwembad is een heerlijke plek om te ontspannen en het personeel is ontzettend vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Niets! Heel fijn ontbijt, het verblijf was tot in de puntjes verzorgd.
• Julia (10/5): Ein ganz besonderes, wunderschönes Hotel. - Eine wunderschöne, besondere Unterkunft. Eine kleine Oase inmitten der Großstadt und wohl das schönste Hotel, in dem wir bisher waren. Das von außen eher unscheinbare Häuschen ist sehr geschmackvoll und stilsicher gestaltet. Das Personal kümmert sich unaufdringlich aber liebevoll um die Gäste. Man bekommt nicht nur den üblichen Zimmerservice, sondern auch kleine Aufmerksamkeiten wie ein regionales Betthupferl oder kühle Getränke, wenn man sich auf die Terrasse setzt. Zu Beginn bekamen wir eine ausfühliche Einweisung mit Stadtplänen, was man in der Umgebung besichtigen oder essen kann mit Empfehlungen. Der öffentliche Bereich rund um den Pool im Innenhof ist klein aber fein gestaltet und vor Sonne und Regen geschützt. Es ist so warm, dass man auch bei Regen oder spät abends im Pool schwimmen kann (hat bis 22 Uhr geöffnet). Beim Frühstück waren wir zuvor skeptisch, da es kein Büffet gibt, aber es hat sich herausgestellt, dass auch dies hier, wie alle Bereiche, liebevoll und durchdacht umgesetzt wurde. Wir haben uns immer für die asiatischen Gerichte entschieden, und das war die richtige Wahl. Es wurde für jeden Gast direkt frisch zubereitet, war geschmackvoll und besonders, und hat hervorragend geschmeckt. Auch die Menge war mehr als ausreichend. Die Lage ist nahe an der Altstadt, und dank Grab kommt man sowieso überall einfach und günstig hin. (Empfehlung: Das "Habitat" auf dem Penang Hill. Ein herrlicher Regenwaldpfad. Der Penang Hill selbst ist nicht immer so schön, da er sehr touristisch ist, aber das Habitat kostet nochmal extra Eintritt und ist sehr leer. Am Ende ist ein kleines nettes Cafe, wo man mit Aussicht auf den Regenwald seinen Kaffee trinken und eine Kleinigkeit essen kann. Es war alles topp!

Quiet location (hotel is not right in the centre but still well located). Comfortable room and bedding. Turn-down service in the evening with local snacks. Very friendly staff (long 1-1 recommendation of the best food spots and must-see places). Staff accommodated a late check-out. 1) Breakfast starts only at 8am, which was too late for us. Due to the heat during the day we prefer visiting the tourist attractions early in the morning. 2) Room can be a bit dark if you intend to spend long hours there. However for us it was fine - worked remotely from the room for two days.

Unfortunately, there were a lot of noisy children (noise late night and early mornings) staying at the same time as us which took away the luxury/boutique/classy/quiet feel of the hotel that we were really looking forward to. We did not use the pool or the communal spots due to this.

L’esmortzar es complet, i cuinat al dia. Si bé no hi ha buffet, ni gran varietat de coses per escollir, tens 5 opcions per escollir. La piscina es molt còmode per refrescar-se, sobretot pels nens, i poden jugar còmodament i vigilar-los fent un te o cafè. L’estada ha estat, simplement perfecte. El recomanaria 100% i tornaria a Noordin Mews si tornes a Georgetown.

Very quiet with an ideal location within walking distance to the Heritage part of Georges town. Lovely staff and great breakfast. The decor is beautiful throughout and all the little attentions make the difference. Having a good size pool to refresh ourselves after a long day exploring the city made the stay even more enjoyable. Highly recommended! I would have appreciated to be able to be offered a later check out without an extra fee as the room was not occupied on the day we were leaving. However they charge you for late check out.

• Pamela (10/5): Top quality boutique hotel with wonderful staff - This a vey well run boutique hotel in lovely George Town. Everything was spotless with exceptional attention to detail. The breakfast was beautifully presented using local and fresh ingredients, much nicer than a buffet in our opinion! Rooms were lovely! Nothing really although there were quite a few dogs. Don’t have a problem with dogs but some were barking a lot which spoilt things abit. This would put a lot of people off esp as it’s a boutique hotel.

• Ilona (9/5): Tolle Unterkunft in Georgetown, gerne wieder. - Eine tolle Unterkunft, super freundliches Personal, alles sehr nachhaltig, es wird sogar am Abend noch aufgedeckt und die Handtücher erneuert, das hatten wir lange nicht mehr. Die Pflegeprodukte sind auch sehr hochwertig, es gibt auch eine Nespressomaschine auf dem Zimmer. Wer japanisches Frühstück mag, da gibt es jeden Tag eine andere Variante, sieht toll aus, wir haben jedoch die Omlettvariante gewählt. Nur die Lage ist ein bisschen abseits, mit Grab aber gar kein Problem!! Es war toll, keine Beschwerden😊

The environment was clean, comfortable, and well maintained throughout. A standout point is that it is genuinely pet-friendly, which made our stay even more enjoyable. Highly recommended. A bit noisy when you stay next to the pool, there are people sitting in front of your room and chit chat for whole day 😁
• sheffield (10/5): Perfect place to stay - Talk about class, elegance and style. This hotel has all three and more. The daily touches and surprises did not go unnoticed or unappreciated. A family owned boutique hotel in the best part of Georgetown offered us a more than delightful stay near everything that Georgetown has to offer- restaurants, street art, shopping, etc. You definitely want to stay downtown and as close to the main or older part of the city as possible due to the never ending heat, which is downright oppressive. The breakfasts and pool were lovely as well! It was an extremely clean hotel with the most comfortable beds we’ve slept on while traveling these past 6 months. Thank you and well done!

Incredible Kindness & Flexibility The staff here are simply lovely. We had to reschedule our stay due to a previous illness, and the team was so helpful and accommodating during the process. Their genuine care made us feel welcome from the moment we finally arrived. The Perfect Location: A Quiet Secret The hotel is tucked behind a beautiful, unassuming old townhouse facade that makes it feel like a private sanctuary. The Best of Both Worlds: It is located in a much quieter corner of town, yet it's just a short, easy walk to the most vibrant parts of Old George Town. The Setting: It’s peaceful, private, and feels worlds away from the busy tourist streets while remaining incredibly central. Charming Amenities The property is stunningly restored, and we particularly loved the little outdoor pool. It is such a treat to come back from a day of exploring the heritage streets and take a quiet dip in such a serene setting. Verdict Noordin Mews is the perfect boutique experience. Between the history of the building, the peaceful atmosphere, and the exceptionally helpful staff, it was the highlight of our time in Penang!
• Anne (10/5): Fantastisk hotel - Noorndin Mews er nok det mest skønne lille hotel, jeg har boet på! Personalet var utroligt venlige og hjælpsomme. Det føltes meget personligt. Der var roomservice 2 gange dagligt og hver aften lå der en lille gave/snack til os på natbordet. Morgenmaden bestilte man aftenen før a la carte. Hotellet har en lille hyggelig have med en pæn størrelse swimmingpool. Da vi boede på hotellet, var der mange børn, hvilket gav noget uro og støj i haven og omkring poolen. • James (10/5): A wonderful hotel - I have rarely if ever posted a review of a hotel. I stay in a lot of them for work. I stayed here with family over CNY for a few days, including my sister's two young children. I was blown away. The staff were just so gracious, accommodating and helpful. The property is lovely and very well designed - the rooms are great, and the dining area is charming. We brought back food in the evening and the staff plated it up for us. A calm little oasis in an interesting part of town. Nothing.
• Vijit72 (10/5): A hidden gem in George Town - I just spent 5 days at this truly elegant hotel. Set in the heart of George Town, this hotel was perfectly located. The hotel is beautiful - an old Chinese house and is great hideaway from the crowds outside. You experiment tranquility and calmness as soon as you walk through the doors. We loved the beautiful little touches with their turn down service and the staff could not be more helpful. The staff were not intrusive but were helpful when you asked for advice. The breakfasts were good though vegetarian options were limited. The rooms were clean and ample in size. A secret find on George Town - well worth a visit.
• I2287OYchristinep (10/5): lovely stay - This last week we had the pleasure of staying at Norton news hotel in Georgetown Penang and we couldn't have asked for a better experience as Kiwis we appreciate warm hospitality and the staff went above and beyond to ensure we felt right at home from the moment we arrive we were greeted and had a tent of service they offered helpful tips for exploring the area the Hotel itself is a beautiful boutique gym with lovely design rooms that are both comfortable and stylish we loved our room which provided a peaceful retreat after a day spent discovering the vibrant sites of Penang one of the standout features of our day was the freshly cooked breakfast served each morning there is a lovely swimming pool which which is an added bonus giving us a refreshing space to unwind and relax after a day of excursions

• ANNE GUJAN (9/5): - L'hôtel est dans une maison ancienne typique rénovée avec beaucoup degoût, notre chambre était spacieuse, confortable et bien équipée. Le personnel est très investi, ils donnent énormément d'informations sur la ville et ont été réactifs sur toutes nos demandes. J'aime aussi le fait que ce soit un petit hôtel. Le petit déjeuner n'est pas à la hauteur d'autres hôtels que j'ai fait à Penang et pas à la hauteur du prix de l'hôtel. De bons jus de fruits frais au lieu de l'unique jus d'orange par exemple et un peu plus de choix à manger. Le bruit doit être contrôlé aux abords de la piscine et aussi dans les extérieurs avec plus de fermeté. Nous avons eu un groupe qui parlait très fort et jusqu'à tard et des enfants qui criaient dans la piscine. Cela devrait être pris en compte avec plus de fermeté car cela gâche le plaisir de tous les autres hôtes des lieux.
• 681suev (10/5): Excellent boutique hotel - There’s so many good things about this hotel that it’s hard to know where to start and I’m bound to forget things. The location is perfect for exploring old Georgetown sights. Our room was spacious and had all we needed, including Netflix. There was a coffee machine but I was also given a kettle on request. I loved the different Asian selection for breakfast. The pool area provides a welcome break from sightseeing. The staff were all lovely and very helpful. It’s been a perfect stay.

• 277Mimi (10/5): Just Fabulous - I cannot recommend highly enough this beautiful boutique hotel in the heart of Georgetown. It was an absolute haven and such a peaceful place to return to at the end of each day. Our room was spacious and cool and we really loved the touches such as having the room turned down every evening and a different local snack left each night - with an explanatory note explaining its links to Penang culture. The service from all staff was exemplary and indeed really made our stay.

• Tofer56 (10/5): A near perfect place to stay in Penang - I chose this hotel because not only is it in a traditional Chinese house but also squeezed in a reasonable lap pool. I was very pleased with everything there, especially the helpful and professional reception staff. The room was near perfect, with everything, including Wi-Fi, in good working order, in contrast to some of the other guests houses in old houses.
• jl123450 (10/5): Relatively hidden gem with a lot of nice touches - Noordin Mews was great! We stayed there in Penang and it had a lot of character at a really reasonable price. The room stayed nice and cold, which was a lifesaver in that heat, and the whole place has a really cool, creative vibe. Breakfast was actually good too, made to order. The service was honestly 10/10. Everyone was super helpful and proactive without being annoying. They always had nice touches for their service too; the house keeping always seemed to do or leave something special. I hope to come back one day.
• Passport556491 (10/5): Excellent boutique hotel - I spent 2 nights at Noordin Mews. It is an excellent boutique hotel - It really did feel like being a cosseted house guest. The location is excellent for exploring the UNESCO World Heritage site. It was close to many restaurants, bars and cafes. A mall and a 7/11 convenience store were also close by. The reception staff were very welcomomg and had a lot of information about the locality. They also arranged for me to have a guided tour by Joann who was excellent. All the staff were wonderful- so very polite. The breakfasts were delicious and the afternoon tea and cake was very welcome. My room was perfect and the bathroom very deluxe. I will certainly book Noordin Mews again when I visit Penang. Thank you all for the big welcome.

• Thomas (10/5): Schöne, ruhige und saubere Oase inmitten der Grossstadt - Sehr idyllische Unterkunft inmitten der wuseligen Grossstadt. Trotz der sehr zentralen Lage, empfanden wir es dort als schön ruhig. Das Personal war extrem freundlich. Wir empfanden das Zimmer als ausgesprochen sauber. Das Zimmer ist grundsätzlich eher dunkel. Für uns war dies aber willkommen nach der vielen Hitze und Sonne während der Tour durch die Stadt.

• Freddy (8/5): - Flott personale, god frokost. Hotellet er åpen for hunder ect. Heldigvis var det kun 1 dag med gneldrebikkje der. 2 ting som trekker ned: 1. Rom rett ved bassenget fører med seg støy og mygg/insekter. Myggnett burde vert tilgjengelig på rommet. Du hører folk fra nabo rom også, men det er forventet på slike type hus. 2. Sitteplass rett utenfor vinduet med askebeger, som fører med seg støy sent på kvelden og røyklukt. Om vinduet kunne isolert lyd og lukt ville sitteplassene vert uproblematisk, men en hører normal samtale godt fra rommet og lukten av røyk siger inn. Burde vert bedre gardiner på rommet.
• Jojo (10/5): Great experience, you really get to enjoy all the perks of a boutique and unique hotel. - The breakfast was exceptional - I think they provided one of the best meals I had in Penang. The first day I order Daily Asian Dish, and it's the Laos noddle with herbs, extremely tasty and most importantly healthy. Most of other food I ate in George Town were quite nice but greasy and sweet, but Noordin Mews' cooking really caters to people who wants to try the local flavour with health awareness. Second day it was Nasi Lemak, also really healthy compared to the dishes you order outside, less greasy and less salty in the meantime very delicious. The staffs were really friendly, provided very detailed tour of the property. Room service was good as well, they organised all of my phone cables, watch cable with organisers, they really have eyes on the details. There are a lot of complimentary snacks provided by the hotel, like afternoon tea with cakes, entrance snacks, bed side snacks, full of surprises. And the scenic gardening is great, they have a lot of great looking bonsai. One the my favourite is the taro growing in the water, the little garden is well maintained, aesthetics and enjoyable. The check in process was not so great. You had to fill in a lot of information in a webpage, and the flow was not so well designed. I accidentally skipped one page and in the end just couldn't submit the form - the page didn't tell you what was the problem but just didn't respond after you click the "submit" button until I troubleshot it myself. And I feel like the check-in form is asking way too much questions, like my home address, which is very unnecessary.

Das ganze Hotel ist mit viel Liebe für die Details und sehr geschmackvoll und stimmig ausgestattet und fühlt sich sehr cosy und südostasiatisch an. Die Zimmer und Bäder sind sehr schön gestaltet und ausgestattet. Es gibt auf jedem Zimmer ein im Preis inbegriffenes Angebot an Kaffee, Tees, Wasser und anderen Getränken sowie Kekse und andere Kleinigkeiten. Der Pool im Zentrum des Innenhofs bietet die Gelegenheit zur Erfrischung nach einem langen Tag im lebhaften Trubel der Altstadt. Morgens gibt es ein authentisches und ausgewogenes Frühstück, das man sich schon am Vorabend aus einem vielfältigen Angebot zusammenstellen kann. Die Mitarbeitenden sind immer sehr hilfsbereit und sehr angenehm freundlich!

It is very well appointed and the pool courtyard area is a tranquil place to relax at the end of day. The staff were very helpful confirming some travel arrangwments for us and even gave us a packed breakfast to take away.

Rooms are spacey, new with a all kind of expectation fulfilled. Valuable choise because of really high standard and postreactive staff. Cleaning three times pr day with upfilling of coffee and small local snacks. We stayed in 8 nights and all were excellent.

A la carte morgenmad med et udvalg af vesterlandske og især asiatiske retter. Poolen var meget brugt og opmærksomheden på rengøringen var ikke som på de øvrige områder.
• Stewart (9/5): Highly recommend for your stay in Penang! - The property has a unique feel to it with real heritage personality. Our room was spacious, with a sitting area and space to sit and get ready. The breakfast was honestly amazing. Well beyond my expectations for an included breakfast. There’s a pool area which our kids enjoyed playing in. The location was very handy to explore and head out to eat. The staff gave great and detailed suggestions for Penang. Unfortunately, our daughter became really unwell on our last night. The staff promptly helped us clean the bed sheets (at 9pm!) and let us have a late checkout the next day as we had been up all night with her so she could sleep and rest rather than sit in an airport. We were beyond grateful. Many other places wouldn’t have been able to be so flexible and the helpfulness and kindness meant a lot to us. The curtains around the bed were a tad annoying!

It was haven from the hot business of Georgetown and felt like a sanctuary when spending time at the pool. The staff were incredibly attentive, kind and helpful. The rooms were so comfortable - we were a large family group with the suite (2 adults and 2 children) and a double room (grandparents). The rooms were beautifully made up, the bathrooms were spacious, the products lovely and every detail thought of. Breakfast was delicious. We could not find a single fault with this property - it really is exceptional. Nothing! It was all great.

• Qian (10/5): Fantastic - Noordin Mews is very nice boutique hotel in the heart of George Town, Penang. We can easily walk to near by shopping mall, food market. It takes 15-20mins car ride to Penang Hill, and 35-40mins to Batu Ferringhi beach. The staffs of the hotel are very friend. House keeping is detail and care by heart. Daily breakfast is very good. One shall try the daily Asian special. Overall, our experience with Noordin Mews was very good and we want to come back again. There is nothing to complain about the hotel.

• Yvett Klein (10/5): Old Penang with new design concept just outside the UNESCO Penang. - This hotel had multiple features in the local travel and design magazine and was prominent on instagram travel Chanels, which we did not realise when we booked the hotel. It was the local's effort to preserve parts of Penang's historical legacy with modern design concept. It exceeded our expectation in both hardware and service. If only thing, the pillows were one size and all too high for me. I did not bother to ask whether there was more sizes available.
