- Stephen (7/5): We enjoyed our stay but it was quite a bit for the room. Luckily the hotel was not crowded the weekend we were there. - The property was very pretty and well tended. The staff was very friendly and terrific. We stayed in one of the older rooms. The hot water in sink wasn’t working and shower had poor water pressure with no hot water. We called front desk and they promptly sent maintenance to take care of it. Later in the stay we noticed some other things in the room - the table for eating was loose and moving around and off balance for eating. When we walked along the bike path out front we noticed tall weeds in front of the property. We weren’t sure if the city maintains that area but it looks a little bad. One other small thing - our room was on the end of the property. Both nights there was someone rolling trash cans by our room at 2 am. Maybe trash can go out earlier or don’t roll it right in front of rooms?
- JK456 (8/5): Kids dampening the "spa" vibe this week. - Choose your timing and you may fare better than we did. This is a lovely renovated space and we loved our room and little balcony. But the mineral water pool areas which are marketed as part of the "mineral hot springs/spa" feel was absolutely crawling with children giving it more of a "water park" feel than "mineral water spa" feel. The hot tub had at least 6 kids in at all times, despite the sign for minimum age of 18. - There is an adult pool section but it's pool is the coldest of the 4 pools, so not great unless the day is quite warm. The adult pool is a long walk from the other pools so you can't pop in to a warmer pool then retreat easily to the adult area. (This might help.) I was looking forward to a relaxing afternoon of time in the pools, reading, maybe soaking in the hot tub, but the afternoon was a bust on that front. The actual spa was already booked so that retreat option was not available - Lovely dinner in the attached restaurant (again, a few crying kids didn't help but that wasn't the fault of the restaurant). And a great smores pit and patio vibe. But again...clearly a family resort at least this week. (Spring Break?)

The chosen plants around the pool let off a lot of pollen and debris so it made for a lot of floaters in the water.

Quentin and Alex at the front desk are amazing and every recommendation they made was spot on and super helpful, friendly and professional. The Fleetwood restaurant on site is one of the best meals we had. We enjoyed a wonderful massage at the spa . We will definitely return and highly recommend! You won't be disappointed!

Pools were crowded at all times. Lots of kids under 18 in the jacuzzi. Food in the restaurant was overpriced.

I brought my friend here for her birthday and Quentin (their front desk guru) set up a birthday bottle of champagne on ice in the room while we were at our spa appointments. Our facials and soaks were incredible. Their pools are perfect. We ate dinner in their onsite restaurant and everything was delicious. Service was awesome. An incredible deal if you look at the prices of other places in Calistoga!
- jimcB9385US (2/5): unpleasant stay - Part of the inn is new and updated, but part of it is essentially a run down motel. The rooms have paper-thin walls, old plumbing, and a lack of practical, necessary features (it did have a hula hoop and stuffed animal aardvark on the wall - cute, but doesn't make the room a better place to stay). the lot around the motel has a crumbling parking lot with two large storage containers, unkempt, overgrown landscaping, and an apartment building looming over it. It is really ugly and unwelcoming. all for $300 a night. I should have just left and demanded a refund.
- Leanna246 (4/5): Please do better, Calistoga MotorLodge! - I had previously stayed at the Calistoga MotorLodge and loved my experiences. For this trip, we reserved the Retro Classic King Studio, as we were bringing our toddler and needed the extra space. Upon arrival, the pack 'n play that was told to us would be in our room was not. When I tried to call the front desk, I realized the phone wasn't working and had to call from my cell phone. In viewing the room, we noticed the flooring was warped and coming off the floor. Additionally, there were no ice bags in the room, and water had been left in the kettle; we didn't know how long it had been sitting there. It was an incredibly disappointing experience, and I hope that MotorLodge fixes this before future guests stay in that room or part of the resort.

It's walkable to town with great restaurants and shops and lose to a wonderful hiking trail across the street. The staff is always friendly and hopeful. We've been to the Motor Lodge many times and will go again.

She has been very polite and helpful in answering all the questions. The stay was wonderful. We came back a second time in two months. Due to the two pools the adults pool and the kids pool areas nicely separated.

Good quality food in restaurant for extra cost. Nice free yoga session on Sunday morning. Glass of rose on arrival. Very loud noise from adjoining room. The adjoining door to another room (with other random guests) allowed all noise through. No fault of the next door guests but we couldn’t sleep for hours just because they were in their room talking. Area around the adult pool smelled of strong cheese or sewage alternately. Awkward fence between adult pool and hot tub (which is billed as over 18s only but there were small children in there when we went in) No breakfast included option. Would assume it would have a smartTV for the price. And finally the room wasn’t ready when we arrived for check-in (after check-in time) and on our departure day we were knocked on by housekeeping at 9:30 to remind us to check out(?) felt rude and rushed. A very expensive stay for this kind of service and these issues.

I appreciate having space without kids around but I do think the whole setup should be swapped with the the 3 actual mineral pools (which are closer to the bar) be the adults only area and the back shallow non mineral pool be where kids are allowed. So much potential here but misses the mark. Another spot I want to like but as a childless traveler in my 40s, I hate paying premiums for places that cater to be a “spa” and then have kids screaming in the pool. I understand the hotel is catering to their customers and it is not a comment on their service specifically, I just wish there were more in the market for true child free traveling that isn’t always clothing optional or a party vibe. Other than that, the middle score is only because the room was really really shabby with one of the worst hotel bathrooms Very cramped space and the shower got water absolutely everywhere in the bathroom. There is no counter space or drawers to put your stuff and then the door opens inward to make everything even more awkward. Stained chairs in the rooms and scratches on the furniture in the rooms. Super creaky loud wood floor. Decent comfortable bed with clean bedding but overall, the room felt like motel quality, not relaxing spa vibe. I think this price would only be worth it if it was a truly luxurious experience, which is is not. I live in the Bay Area and would probably try it again if I can score a different room at a reasonable rate but the one we had was yuck.

The adult-only mineral pool was a serene highlight—peaceful, warm, and the perfect way to unwind in the evenings. A special shoutout to Maria from housekeeping, who kept our room spotless and was incredibly kind and attentive throughout our stay. It’s always nice to feel genuinely cared for, and Maria went above and beyond to make us feel at home. The lodge is in a great location—just a short, charming walk into downtown Calistoga, which made morning and evening dog walks extra enjoyable. We loved the vintage-meets-modern aesthetic of the property, the cozy fire pits, and the laid-back, pet-friendly vibe that made both of us feel welcome. We’ll definitely be back!

- Melissa (4/5): - This was supposed to be a calm, relaxing Birthday family getaway for my spouse. There was a racing event at the raceway nearby for the whole weekend. From 5-10pm you would just hear the races going on pretty loudly. You could hear the races poolside, while outside dining, etc. Not sure if this can be an option in the future, but maybe a notification to potential customers before booking that may be expecting the quiet, Calistoga vibes. There were a few other guests we spoke to that felt the same. There is no sound barrier between the first and second floors. If you are on the first floor you will hear EVERYTHING happening on the 2nd floor. On our 2nd day someone had defecated in the family pool. The pool had to shut down for the next 24 hours. We were a family of four with an 11 and 16 year old during what the front desk stated was the “hottest weekend of the year”. When the pool shut down I asked if the adult pool would be an option, but was told no. We went back to our room for a few hours to look for something to do in the heat. Eventually we noticed families had moved to the adult pool which was nice, but we had missed a few hours in the meantime. Overall, not a quiet, relaxing getaway as we had hoped for our first time in Calistoga.

- 401texr (10/5): This place is a no-brainer! - This place is a no-brainer! The price was right, everything was clean, and the overall experience exceeded expectations. The restaurant and bar were never crowded, making it a perfect spot to grab a snack or a beer while waiting on my wife to get ready. There are three pools, all a good size and very well maintained. In the evenings, the outdoor fire seating made for a perfect nightcap. I stayed in room 301—small but clean, and I really enjoyed spending my mornings outside at the table and chairs provided for each unit. Without question, this is the best value for the dollar in Napa. Doesn’t matter if you’re broke or wealthy—this place delivers unbeatable value.

- holly (8/5): - We had a great 3 night stay. The pool was great as well as the hot tub, we wish we had more time to use them! Food at fleetwood was okay. It was nice to have it close by. We were on the bottom floor so we heard the guests walking upstairs the entire night but otherwise the resort was peaceful. Parking was easy and included with the resort fee. The only issue was a charge to my room that wasn’t from us. They need to be a little more strict on who can charge what, but they resolved it no problem. Overall great stay for the price and we would stay again!

- Khristine (8/5): - We enjoyed our stay here. We went here with our teenage kids. We enjoyed the pool, fire pit/smores. The place is close by a lot of restaurants and shops. Will definitely recommend. Pros: clean, safe, good a/c, friendly staff You can purchase s’mores kit. We weren’t able to enjoy the bikes and bocce ball since it was a bit hot when we went. They have some board games available to borrow, too. Cons: we stayed in the 1st floor and the floors and walls are thin. You can hear every movement and footsteps. Noise don’t usually bother us, but it was loud. The bathroom sliding door looks nice but it doesn’t stay close. We also wish they have a car charging station.

- RanchTraveler (10/5): Great warm mineral pools - We were upgrade from the retro room to the 2Q premium room which is a standard room with couple chairs and a balcony. The wood looking floor feels clean. It didn’t have muster smell. Bathroom showers is big and much more spacious then the retro room. We did not use the free bike rentals. The is a non-mineral adult pool. There is a gated 3 pool area with cushioned chaise and beds with umbrella and trellis shades. All 3 pools are mineral water and temp is warm, warmer, and hot ( jacuzzi). Had clean bathrooms and lots of towels and an outdoor shower. Pool area is very nice and restful Rest of the grounds included bean bag toss area, lots of seatings, fireplace, filtered water station.

- jaredk753 (4/5): Disappointed in Calistoga - Property was easy to find and set against a beautiful backdrop. Check-in was a breeze as well. The room experience was not great. Our toilet did not flush. There were wires haphazardly hanging down from the TV, which looked to be part of the streaming service connections. During our first night, streaming services were not functional. The shower curtain was approximately 6 inches too short , which caused water to drain out onto the bathroom floor, causing a slipping hazard. The curtain itself was very stained and grimy looking. By day two, they moved us to a new room which seemed to be a unit that had been renovated. Everything seemed to be in great shape, until we went to sleep for the night. The AC unit made a loud “gurgling” sound approximately every 5 minutes, which kept the whole family awake. The grounds of the property are wonderful and the pools are nice and heated with lovely fire pits scattered about. Our dining experience wasn’t what we had hoped for either. Our first dinner was great and sitting outside was lovely. Our second night, we sat inside and after being greeted, we waited 15 minutes before having to call someone over to take our orders. There were only two other tables with guests so it was not overly busy. We had to get up and look for someone each time we needed something. At one point I had to go to the back to grab my own salt/pepper and napkins. Near the end, we were finally told that our server was training behind the bar as well. This would have been nice to know at the beginning so we could have adjusted our expectations better during the meal. Poor communication, unfortunately. Ultimately, due to the experiences we had during our stay, we would not stay here again and usually love Hyatt properties.

- Voyager761618 (10/5): Awesome relaxing daze - A cozy but very cute decorated room. On the quiet side of the complex. It suited our needs perfectly. I really enjoyed the comfy bed, lux bathrooms and snacks! The room was spotless. The bar and resturant Fleetwood have really good food and drink, so you don't unless you really want to go anywhere else. My new favorite drink was a Mango Margarita it was very good and was exactly what I needed while lounging at the pool with my sweetie and friends. Oh yes, there is an adults only pool, shallow but perfect because it was big and round. Our breakfast was yummy-- I had waffles and forget what my mate had. One final word, the staff there is pretty specutalar, because they are friendly, helpful, and knowledgable. I am going back to chill and enjoy a cocktail by the pool.

- B10TMpaulk (10/5): Best Motor Lodge ever - We were coming in for a business meeting but took the long way there through northern Napa Valley. We used to live in Southern Napa and to be honest we rarely went up valley. Calistoga Motor Lodge is a jewel. Great service, just the right casual attitude, with an adult pool, hot tub, live entertainment, and wood fired kitchen. Great place to stay. Almost don't want to tell people as Im afraid it will become too popular.

- Mobile787950 (10/5): Kitschy and Comfy - The Motor Lodge has added more luxurious room options and a gorgeous circular pool. Even the most basic rooms are tidy, with comfy beds and kitschy decor (think camper van). The restaurant is fantastic with great indoor annf outdoor seating. A highlight was lounging fireside in an Adirondack chair with a summer cocktail while roasting s'mores. Borrowing a bike from the front desk is easy and fun way to explore the town or to go to a local winery.

I was there with a work group and the front desk staff gave me sass when I asked to add my Hyatt number to my room because "I had only spent a few dollars" on my personal card to qualify on my account. I found this rude and unnecessary. Who cares how much I spent if I spent anything at all. It takes 30 seconds for them to add a number into their system
- P3163WCjohnl (10/5): Great Hotel in Napa Wine Country - Much better than expected! We reserved a 2-bedroom suite and I wasn't sure what to expect, but it was in a new building with only 2 of these suites - one upstairs and one downstairs. We had the upstairs. The big advantage of the downstairs suite was it's own large porch with a firepit, whereas we had a huge balcony with 3 separate entrances from inside - one from each bedroom, and one from the living room. Each bedroom had a full bath and a mini-fridge. The living room had a wine fridge. Really good pour-over coffee in the room. Excellent breakfast at the hotel restaurant. They also offered free or discounted wine tasting at a number of wineries in the area. Adult and kid pools. Would definitely stay here again.

The floorboards in those rooms need repair or replacement. It's very loud when you walk in the room. You can hear people in the other rooms walking. The rooms need to be soundproofed. Unfortunately I hear the couple next door arguing which was stressful.Reception staff told me those rooms were scheduled to be remodeled. I tried to talk to the manager about the problems in the room. I called multiple times but he did not return my call or acknowledge my concerns. I'm disappointed with the lack of response from the manager.

It is withing walking distance to great restaurants, wine tasting and shopping. The guestrooms are updated and very comfortable. The adult pool was awesome and the perfect temperature. The staff was outstanding. Groups should also consider for a meeting or social group.

The entire team at Fleetwood was warm and welcoming, and the food was amazing. We also received wonderful service at the pool, which made our stay even more enjoyable. I especially want to mention the yoga instructor, Jane—she was incredible. Such a warm and gentle soul! We loved her energy, her presence, and the depth of her knowledge. She made a lasting impression on us.

Beautiful pools, lounges around pools, bar and food at pool. A very fun and lovely place! It was a great location for mud baths, wine tasting, hiking and the cruiser bikes were icing on the cake to ride on the bike trail. Not addressing those standing in line waiting for others to check in or out. For example, "Are you just leaving your key, Did you have a quick question?" Or just to say that they will be right with us.

- 758eveq (10/5): A Great Family Getaway! - We loved our stay at the motor lodge! It's great for families and pets. We had our two grandchildren under 3 who loved the pool and poolside lunch. We also brought our border collie. The lodge is located close to town so we walked there for both breakfast and lunch. The dinner at the lodge, at Fleetwood, was better than expected, truly top notch, and the option of eating outside was perfect for our active two year old. Thanks, Motor Lodge!
