The train was a couple block away, with direct access to London. Windsor Palace very close, it felt very safe.

Andrew (10/5): Windsor Overnighter - Room was excellent. Walls and ceilings are thin and creaky but this didnt bother us. It's in a very quiet street. We all love a great shower and the one here was very good. Lots of tea and coffee in the room. Small carpark at the rear. Location is perfect for Windsor, 5 minute walk. Brealfast was good.
Yongyi (10/5): - This is a very cozy motel on a very charming street. Prime location to the train station and the Castle. The staffs are warm and helpful. We love the breakfast! The only thing I complain is we booked room 2 from Expedia for higher charge because its description stated it has a king size bed. However, the room is also labeled as a double room and there is no king size bed. I hope Expedia's description is more accurate!
Robert (4/5): - Steer clear of this place if you’re looking for lodging. This is not a charming old world pub/inn. It’s a dingy, LOUD, smelly, hideously decorated dump. Old is one thing - I’ve no issues with slanted, creaky floors. But any charm is covered with ugly gray, stained carpet and rotting fish odors in the staircase. Presumably original wooden beams painted with GLOSSY black. Ridiculous “modern” furniture, nude sketches in frames on the walls. You can hear every conversation from the street (room 3) and pub and every footstep. Hot water in shower intermittent. Couldn’t wait to get out of this dump!

Stephanie (8/5): Perfect location for windsor - Lovely little place that is in the perfect location for Windsor. The parking is very handy and the breakfast was nice. The only down side was it wasn't the most comfiest bed I have slept in but the parking and breakfast made it very good value for money. The place is very old and the stairs are windy and narrow so wouldn't recommend for elderly or if you are intending to get very drunk when heading up to bed.

Peter (8/5): - It's 600 years old! We chose it because we wanted to walk to Windsor Castle and not pay a fortune. The Crown and Cushion is in Eton and is three doors from the bridge to Windsor, which put us 5 minutes from the Castle, quieter and at an afforable rate. Also walking distance from Eton College. We loved the experience.

elaine (8/5): Trip to windsor - Love the location, and that there is parking available. Stairs to rooms are a bit steep but manageable and not too many of them. Lovely clean room overlooking the street below. It can be a little noisy (i didnt mind it) but the hotel does thoughtfully provide earplugs. There is a seperate entrance for anyone staying so you dont have to access via the pub. Breakfast is 8-9am and very nice with a hood choice. Ive stayed here twice now , both time involving a trip to windsor racecourse for a day at the races and will be back again in the future. Note you can walk to the racecourse on about half an hour if you choose to.

Due to the pub it can get quite noisy. The food was ok but not thrilling. Overall, it‘s the closeliness to Windsor castle as well as the parking and breakfast included in the price and the very nice staff that make it an unbeatable offer.

Simon (8/5): Love this hotel. - Read some other reviews of this hotel with utter bemusement. Its a 250 year-old building and some complain about uneven floors and steep staircases. IT'S A 250 YEAR-OLD BUILDING! If you want a plastic office-block of a hotel, go elsewhere. (Also a special shout-out to the lady moaning that her coathangers didnt match each other, get over yourself princess). The building is lovely and quirky. Bags of character. Price of room included breakfast and parking right behind the building, so is very good value for money. Stayed there before, and will stay there again. Great place.

Heather (6/5): - We really appreciated the great location and the extremely friendly staff, which made a positive impact on our stay. However, the condition of the property significantly affected our overall experience. The stairs felt unsafe, and the room we stayed in was noticeably unlevel — to the point where even our bag wouldn’t sit properly on the holder. One wall was peeling and damp, the chairs needed a thorough cleaning, and the pillows on the bed (both king and queen) were unfortunately dirty. While the service was commendable, the state of the room brings the rating down to a 7 or 8 at best.

Richard (10/5): Loved the place - Loved the place. It’s really centrally placed for Windsor and Eton. The staff, food and rooms are lovely. Our bed was super comfy and the room had the unique feel you’d expect from a very old hotel. We had a special bay window looking over Etons high street and this made the room even more unique. If you want something different from a chain and the dullness that this brings give the place a go

Martin (8/5): A good alternative for the Rugby - Used as a base for rugby at Twickenham and it worked well with free parking and a two minute walk to the station then 25 mins to Rugby. Bar closes early on a Sunday but we found other places to eat and drink. Room was good and variable floors are certainly interesting but nothing dangerous. Staff we met were pleasant and breakfast good. Overall good value and would recommend/stay again.
Verified traveler (8/5): overnight stay to attend grandson's confirmation - Our room was lovely and spacious but unfortunately, although advertised as a quiet room, it was extremely noisy as over the bar. The voices and laughter carried up into the room and we could see why we had most considerately been given ear plugs! Luckily it went quiet at 11 p.m. Very convenient having a car park round the back. The stairs were pretty tricky to climb but we helped up with our cases. It was a lovely breakfast in the morning.

xiaoxu (2/5): - It’s a terrible hotel. Location is five star. Other than that, front door is locked till noon, need to go through back door. Check out is 10:30am and there is no lobby area to stay. There is no lift nor staff to help for the luggage. I will never visit again.
S m (2/5): Bitten in bed. - I stayed in room one and during the night I could feel myself being bitten. I called the hotel on my home as there was only a chef about when I left and informed them that I had been bitten 5 times during the night so they may want to get the room checked out, the lady I spoke to said she pass this information to the managers and I should expect an email. Unfortunately I haven’t heard from them.

Mark (10/5): Great place in the middle of Eton! - I really enjoyed my 2 night stay at this historic pub. Kitchen did a fine job with food offerings for both dinner and breakfast. The staff are phenomenal in making sure your needs are met. Pack light as you will need to navigate stairs, which can be a challenge with a heavy bag. For sure, this is on my list to return again. Joanne (4/5): - Having stayed at the hotel a few years ago and since using it for food which is always good, thought we'd stay again. Unfortunately, it was below our expectation. Particularly disappointed with the bathroom. It was absolutely freezing, the radiator didn't work and the gaps around the window made it worse. The bathroom wasn't particularly clean, in and around the shower was bad so didn't even use it, factoring the coldness too. I found the bed and pillows too hard, but appreciate thats a personal preference. Breakfast was served by a friendly lady and plenty of choice and fast. Food is always good here, they just need to invest some money in the rooms. Shame as we love the area but don't think we would stay again.
Anthony (4/5): - It is what it is… room was poorly insulated and I was woken by noise from other rooms. Some staff very friendly but one gentleman (I suspect it is the owner) was very off hand, which has influenced my review. I get the impression the he will not care, and that perhaps says it all. A real shame as they have a great location, but if visiting again I would choose any of the other options for accomodation.
Verified traveler (10/5): Lovely stay at the Crown & Cushion - We had a lovely stay at the Crown & Cushion. All of the staff were very helpful and friendly. Evening meals and breakfast were great. Our room was very comfortable, although one of the walls could do with some tlc, but in a 500+yr old building you've got to expect some wear and tear and quirks. The landing floor was wonky and floorboards above us were creaky, but if you use the earplugs provided this isn't a problem. Great location for exploring Windsor. Literally a few steps from the front door you can see Windsor Castle which is about 5mins walk away. Free parking for your stay was a plus for us too. We would definitely stay again.

Talbot (8/5): Fab location - Ideal location to visit Windsor castle and Eaton. It's an old building with a great deal of character. The room was small with a tiny window and it could do with a bit of TLC . Restaurant bar food was tasty the service excellent. Breakfast has a limited choice and unfortunately they burned the bacon. Free parking at the rear was a big plus.

It is one of the best breakfast options I have had at an accommodation. The people were all very friendly and having water, coffee and tea in the room as really nice.

Trevor (8/5): Our stay at the Crown and Cushion - We had a wonderful stay and the staff could not do enough for our visit. The food and room were very good and clean for such a characterful old building. If you are a light sleeper ask for a lower room, as the staff live on the top floor and get up early to get the breakfast ready. You get given ear plugs and me being thick I never thought to use them. I’m quite a heavy sleeper, so although I heard the noise, it didn’t bother me or my wife. Once again that was the only negative. Located a short walk over the River Thames to the castle, railway station and plenty of bars and restaurants, whilst Eaton was also in walking distance.

Jonathan (10/5): - A great stay, less than 5 minute walk to the theatre and 10 minutes walk to Windsor Castle and around a 1/2 hour to Heathrow. However, if you have mobility issues: the building is from the 1700s, all rooms are up a fairly narrow staircase and most floors are uneven as you would expect in an old building. The room was clean and cozy. We would stay again.
Verified traveler (6/5): Never again - Stairs are difficult. No proper fire escape without going down the stairs. No chairs in the room. Floorboards creaked badly when moving about at night. Nowhere in the shower to put your soap whilst using the shower. No bedside light on one side of the bed.
