Guest Reviews
- Alan (4/5): Disappointment at The Ship Albion - The external decor was very shabby and not a patch on the on line photo. The internal decor similarly. We were greeted by a cheerful member of staff and the room was clean, but in need of sprucing up. The window sash cord was broken, the carpet frayed and the shower door did not close. The hotel could neither control the smell from adjacent sewer works or the intermittent noise from the associated generator through the night nor that from passing clubbers through to the early hours the next day, but they could have provided the advertised breakfast - there was none. With the dining and downstairs roped off when we left shortly after 8am there was no one to raise this absence with so we left by the fire escape, as indicated when we checked in. Strictly functional accommodation is provided in what some locals referred to as 'a dive' and advertising inclusive breakfast is misrepresentation. Had I known beforehand what I know now I would not have made this booking
- Verified traveler (8/5): - I liked the room and how the lady showed us to it. I didn’t like how hot it was in the room
- Melanie (10/5): Relaxing stay - Very friendly helpful team
- Brian (10/5): Excellent hotel at a very good price. - Room was very comfortable and bed was the comfiest I’ve slept on.
Hotel owners are very friendly and dona very good meal at a generous portion size..
if you want a hotel without the frills but cheap and comfy, this is for you.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - This is a rundown and tired place to stay. The first impressions was not good, starting with the potholed car park. When we entered the pub we had to stand at the bar for 20 mins, waiting for the holder of the room key to arrive. The room was a good size, with two single beds and dated furnishings. Off the bedroom was a good sized bathroom and corner shower. The only good thing about our stay eas the shower, that was very good. Breakfast was advertised when we booked the room, but no breakfast is given. The night we stayed there was a party going on in the pub, and the noise was deafening. Apart from all the faults that this place has, Spalding is a beautiful town and well worth a visit.... just don't stay here.
