Guest Reviews
- Verified traveler (4/5): Terrible stay and services - It's in candolim which is very good place but the hotel is totally surrounded by local people huts, the worst scenery arround the hotel, swimming pool was okk okk clean, bathroom was third class and very dirty, bed was also dirty if the hotel is taking 2000 rs a night then it's worthy but seeing it 4 star hotel i spent 4800 per room per night which is totally waste
- Saakshi (4/5): - Terrible experience, AC not working, loud continuous vibrating noise in the room due to kitchen exhaust fan, even during the night time, wifi not working. Worst paet is even after complaining about it to the FOM Suraj Singh and his staff nothing happened. When I checked in, I was greeted - have a pleasant stay, but they are no where close to even understanding what a pleasant stay is all about. Even a 3 star property is better than this one. Though they claum to be 4 star, they are no where close to even a 3 star property. Will never book this property again.
- Giacomino (2/5): Not happy choice - Terrible hotel with indian standard. Terrible smell in the room of mildew, impossible to change becouse the smell is from the mattress and the bedding. Bathroom with water kanalization primitive and aspirator not efficent, maybe not connected, just motor with noisy, but air not escape. Not professional, not cleaned, not nice , nothing was good. Air condition dirty and smelling too. Breakfast no comment. Workers and customers that overnight speaking in the corridor ,in the stairs without respect for customers that sleeping. Hotel for poor people no educated that go in holiday first time in his life. Reception without smile and slowly to check out. Terrible experience. Never more.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The hotel is just 50 meters or so, of the main strip in busy Candolim on the southern tip of North Goa.
Our rooms were not quite what we expected from the booking with it supposed to be 4star, and we would recommend to upgrade from the standard room. The beds were rather soft and one of the rooms didn't have a window. The hotel overall though was OK, breakfast was good and staff were attentative. The breakfast buffet was fresh very varied and good.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Terrible stay - The hotel's wifi was terrible. Even after several complaints, the management couldn't find a solution for the entire period of my stay. Rusted geyser in the bathroom that never worked. The room was OK. Towels had hair follicles.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - This was a pleasant hotel and i would recommend to stay here again. Close to the strip and beach in Candolim
- Egon (4/5): En skuffelse - .
Opholdet var en skuffelse. Hotellet er i en dårlig stand og dårlig rengjort.
Service var ikke som vi oplever andre steder i Indien. Bl. a. stod service efter roomservice på trappeopgangen i over 24 timer efterfølgende.
- Vijay (2/5): Bad xperience. Not a worth for my money. - Have stayed for a day. I wasnt worth keeping money on this hotel for sake of buffet breakfast free...
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice hotel close to everything. - The staff is very polite. Each night they provide entertainment to their guests. The hotel is nice and clean.
- Danni (6/5): Hotel was ok - Hotel was OK but I Had Broken Toilet Handle / the Window View was with Filthy Rubbish at the Back and I Found Cockroach in the Toilet with loads of Mosquito Bites in the Hotel.
Hotel needs More improvement is Required.
- Pratik (2/5): Pathetic Experience!! - Please don't go on the images shown. The bathroom is always leaking, color falling off walls, room service time too long, rude staff is all what we experienced
They will charge you for things you have not done or ordered.
During check-out, no proper bill is given
Warning: Please get a life and book a better property other than this.
- Vinay (8/5): Nice hotel for a comfortable stay - Decent hotel for a comfortable stay with good proximity.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Overall a nice stay... Breakfast was excellent...Poolside is amazing...
- Verified traveler (6/5): Nice property - Excellent staff with good service. Views from balcony are average. Pool is very small and falls short when crowded with few people. Hotel Restaurant is great. Biggest disappointment was one group of rowdy people staying in the Hotel during same time who were creating nuisance and management did not pay attention. Overall, nice property.
- Thomas (2/5): Disapointed - We ordered with balcony, wifi. We where put in a room that smelled like basement, internet NOT worked and our balcony was a Window covered with black tape. We paid extra to get the room we expected!!
- Ritu Raj (8/5): Great place to stay in North Goa. - De Alturas is a wonderful hotel with a excellent facilities and a great staff. We stayed there for a week. We loved every minute of it. I would especially call out the staff as being the highlight of this establishment. From the moment we arrived, we felt well cared for. Executive Chef Kunal and F&B Manager Michael were extremely accommodating to our food requests. This is the type of accommodation that comes from true caring. For example, we requested a chicken soup for our son. Chef Kunal went on to make a special recipe soup just for us based on what our son likes. On another occasion, F&B Manager Michael recommended some *really* fresh seafood for our traditional Goan dinner. It was some of the best seafood I have ever tasted.
The hotel could do with a few minor improvements on the facilities. But these are truly minor. We did not call these out at the time. If we had done so, I am sure the super-responsive staff would have corrected it right away.
Overall, a great hotel to stay at.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Feedback on De Alturas - The website says the hotel is just 5 minutes walk from the beach - the fact is that hotel is a good 30-40 minute walk from the beach
Facilities are not 4 star and we would not recommend anyone this hotel - not worth the money they charge
Breakfast is below par
Swimming Pool is next to the entrance and is very small
- Kislai (6/5): Not value for money - Initially or room was not at all made ready. Probably because we had an early check in (though I informed the hotel about it). Once the room was made, it was comfortable but do not expect any kind of a view from the superior room. The food was overpriced but was good. The beach is rightly 5-10 mins walk but I didn't feel as if I can overstay at the beach till 11 in the night and walk back to the resort. The staff were ok. The website (both the hotel's and the agent sites) do not give the correct picture of the hotel vis-a-vis location and room quality. Moreover, I didn't feel it was worth 4K/night (off season price)
- Sidharth Enagala (8/5): Comfy beds, great bathroom fittings, - Good stay overall. Restaurant food rates could be little reasonable. Taxi union waiting outside the hotel can be avoided.
- Chetan (8/5): Good Hotel, value for money - Overall experience was good, food is nice, walkable distance from beach and shops..
- Janki (10/5): Wonderful Goa experience with hotel De Alturas !!! - Awesome...........Awesome..........Awesome. It was our 2nd wedding anniversary and we had a great experience and lovely refreshing vacation. Alturas is a very good place to stay and we recommend it to all the couples out there to enjoy your vacation.
- Abhinav (8/5): Great Location - It was a pleasant stay there. Hotel staffs were courteous and supportive. Beaches are nearby to the hotel. Food was good.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Excellent experience - Had a great time with friends! Good food. Staff was very friendly. And the rooms were clean! Stayed in the deluxe rooms. Asolutely loved the rooms though I wish they had bath tubs! The next time I go to Goa, will definitely stay here! worth every penny!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Very nice! - Awesome n complete value for money. We enjoyed our overall stay in the hotel.
Best location to connect all the important destination of Goa.
Very nice hospitality!
- Mohit (8/5): VFM Resort!!! - Cleanliness of room/hotel: Immaculate.. Simply amazing rooms
Quality of service: Very descent.... But nothing extra ordinary
Hotel amenities: For the price very well equipped...
Hotel location: This one is a little tricky... I wont give a thumbs up to the location.. Its kind off in middle of nowhere!!! One drawback was the Breakfast --all Veg and very average!!!
- manojsachar (10/5): Worth for Money....Spacious rooms - We stayed there for 4 Days ...Excellent experience.Neat Pool ,Good breakfast ,Clean and spacious rooms.Worth for money ...!!!
- Vikram Solanki (10/5): Great People, Great Service & Great location - It was an wonderfull experience.
- Anil wadhwa (8/5): Good hotel - Nice hotel value of money
- Manoj (6/5): Nice Hotel, not a 4 star though - Neat rooms, comfortable hotel. Has a small swimming pool with no kids pool. Also they do not have play area for children and indoor games. Most of the times during the stay the television would just conk off. Staff is very lethargic, they do not even offer you water during your meal.
Buffet breakfast is very basic with no non veg options.
I would not call this a 4 star property.
- Verified traveler (8/5): good - Good
- Kunwar (2/5): DO NOT BOOK!!! - Horrible experience... Stained bedsheets with Pubic hair.... No water in the toilet continuously for 2 days... Breakfast was of poor quality... People taking your (Kids and Women) Pictures and making videos of your family... Television was not working... Money stolen from us... When we complained about it they will do nothing, you have to chase them to do something.
We were suggested to look at the Video. The funny thing about the Video was the clip of an hour when we went out and came back was missing and they can't find it anywhere in their system. nowhere to be found. the missing clip made us more Suspicious and the hotel Manager told us that when no activity is happening the camera goes to SLEEP!!!!
After we complained the same to our Reservation Agents, they LIED again to them by saying that we were upgraded for our entire stay. The theft happened on the last day of our stay and they insisted us to move to a suite which we were not ready for but we moved as they insisted a lot.
And also think twice before parking your hired bikes or scooters and the back of the hotel, coz we also realised someone Stealing petrol from them.
Do Not trust this hotel and it's people, they are full of lies. This is not a 4 Star hotel. I would rank it a 2.5 Star as the pool is very small as it looks in the pictures. Rooms have cracks on the walls, dirty room and poor quality breakfast.
- Albina (2/5): Very Bad Service. - Its a horrible stay of this hotel. cleanliness of room is very bad. every time we have to call for room service, not even changing the doormat, towel, no mugs in the bathroom. in the Superior room one small window was there but we can't even open that for fresh air. Room was smelling with dirty things. horrible. can't think again to go family holidays with Hotel.com service. Breakfast was not so good. half a things are not even cook properly.
- Sahil (6/5): good ambience - Hotel's attractions are its spa n swimming pool. Food is also good. MSP is its location near Candolim beach...........was a good experience
- Gaurav (10/5): Approx 10 min walk from beach - Very nice hotel, staff was polite took care of everything. Clean rooms, clean swimming pool, food is excellent you must try the food. Overall very nice experience.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Nice hotel if not chosen base category - The base category room was horrible and we told that we would leave this hotel and they told us it will full retention though we booked it for almost Rs6k per night. Then we called up their manager who got us converted to above category room which was very delightful.
- Nams (8/5): good place to stay but high rates - Overall stay at De Alturas was fantastic. The staff was very helpful and pleasant.Service was quick and since its a comparitively new property, its in good condition .The food quality can be improved.Buffet breakfast can be worked upon in terms of quality and variety. The rates are high for the deluxe room ,the ideal price should be in range of 3.5K to 4K max
- Peter (10/5): a good clean and well run hotel - one of the best hotels we stayed at in India, about 15 minutes from the beach, the staff were really friendly willing to help and courteous at all times.breakfast was Indian food and english ie porridge omelettes tomates toast marmalade tea and coffee as much as you like and all tasty.pool area is nice you can eat around it at night and it looks great.the rooms were really clean our cleaner looked after us very well would recommend this hotel. Peter G
- sanjay (8/5): Nice Hotel close to candolim beach, - The hotel is located very near to the candolim beach which is very nice n clean place in north goa.The rooms are very neat and clean and the very best part is of the resort is the service and welcoming staff who are always smiling and co operative Esp Ms. Digna, Balveer & Seby on front desk.
The food served is very tasty and delicious with bit limited options but beautifully covering the options of Continental, south Indian, Punjabi & Chinese delicacies. The chief chef Mr. Kunal arora is very guest focusing personality
- Debanjan (10/5): Awesome Budget Hotel! Great Service! - Very clean, spacious rooms. Very helpful and friendly staff. The hotel itself is less than a year old, and is very well managed. Very close to Candolim and Calangute beaches. More than 80% guests are foreigners. The pool is ultra clean!
All in all, totally satisfied by the hotel, and Expedia's booking services!! Keep it up!
- Verified traveler (6/5): Ok...not a 4 star. - It was not a negative experience - just not a very good experience. Hotel pick up was messed up and there were various issues. Overall, paid too much. Was 70 EUR and in Europe, this would be a 50 EUR Max per night stay. For a new hotel. Things are not finished well. Staff tried and some were helpful and sorted the issues though took two or three times udualy to explain. Again, not a negative experience and was not bad. Over priced but Goa is over priced for hotels in general. Probably wouldn't recommend to a friend but Iwouldn't say not to stay. Hope helps.
- R (4/5): Ok hotel - Stayed 7nights at this hotel, was supposed to be a 4 star hotel but is not. The breakfast is really bad and not worth the money. The service is ok, nothing extra. The internet connection is very bad. Would not recommend this hotel.
- HSDM (8/5): Close to beach , good hotel. - Stay was pleasant. Location was convenient as it was close to beach, restaurants and shops. The swimming pool in the hotel closes by 7pm,which we felt was early. The hotel staff were friendly. The Hotel room was comfortable with adeqaute facilities.
- David (6/5): Not the cleanest - Had to switch rooms due to cleaning problems. Internet is poor.
- Sumeet (2/5): The place just looks new, service is screwed up! - The management is selfish and greedy, lacks client servicing skills, shame to have booked with them. Plus i guess they did some rural marketing, whole village was in the pool, money is just what mattered to them. We could not use the pool, security and other staff make you feel you in strictly managed hostel under cunning matron. They did not even allow friends to visit us even in the day. They have no idea or realize the meaning of leisure as people visit Goa to chill and not be restricted with all this.
- Siva (8/5): newly constructed and worth for the money we spend - We booked 3 suite rooms. All the rooms were well furnished and very big! Place was very clean and liked the hospitality. Short drive to baga! Initially we felt swimming pool was small but sufficient for max 7 persons.
- Gautam (6/5): New hotel , not at all worth being a 4 star - Its a new hotel, hence you will find everything to be very clean. But unfortunately this could lead to some issues as no one might have ever used it. Like our room door lock was not working probably this was the first time someone was using that room.
Service is very bad. Its more about staff not reacting properly to understand client needs. On reporting that our room door lock was not working we had to wait for more than an hour to see someone come and repair the lock for additional 20 mins or so. There was no proper response from staff when i requested to shift us to another room instead of us monitoring how they repair the lock.
Some more highlights about the hotel:
1. Swimming pool is located just next to the entrance
2. There is no parking space for even 3-4 cars
3. Its not at all a luxury hotel and there is no way one can spend their day relaxing in the hotel. Should be a good choice for Business travelers.
4. Gym was smelling - don't think its ever been used.
To end my review i would just like to say that i am shocked that this is a 4 star hotel. Approach and book this hotel as a 2 star hotel.
