We had confirmed with the staff prior to arrival that we had washing machines, when we got to our room - there wasn't one. They did however rectify it and provide one quite quickly. Had issues with it then leaking but again, rectified immediately.

All though a few more western style items available would be nice to accommodate. About 23 - 30 minutes minimum to hanoi centre most days in a grab. Showers were not good! Old and pressure and temperature fluctuated like crazy. Master bedroom shower in tub too low for anyone above 5ft to shower in comfortably. Utensils and items to use within the serviced apartment were extremely limited we had 2 forks and some plates and a few tiny bowls and cups. No spoons, knives or anything to use no dish towels or anything you might need during a few days stay using the kitchen. Sheets on beds were old and had holes in them. Bath and pool towels are in need of an upgrade

- Bulsing (8/5): Quiet space in a chaotic city - The 2 bedroom apartment on the 18th floor was quiet, clean, super spacious and had a bonus washing machine. The staff were super nice, and helpful. The location to a 711 type shop across the road and a coffee shop nearby. Although we were on the 18th floor there was still street (and loud music noise from time to time) noise as there was a really large gap between the windows and the ceiling where we could see daylight. I wouldn't like to be in this room in high winds as it would be windy inside. The TV was pixelated and glitchy, made it very hard to watch anything. The shower over bath meant that the shower head was aimed at your belly button and made washing your hair one handed tricky. There were a few fittings like the towel rails that weren't really fixed to the wall properly.

Les chambres sont très belles et bien équipées, le ménage est fait tous les jours dans la chambre. Le petit déjeuner à volonté propose un large choix avec beaucoup de salé et une partie sucrée. La piscine ainsi que l’espace spa (bains à remous, sauna, hammam) est un réel plus avec vestiaires et douches a disposition également. Possibilité de déposer ses bagages à la réception avant le check-in et après le check-out. Rien de spécial, si ce n’est les joints de la piscine et du bain à remous qui pourraient être mieux nettoyés à certains endroits.

- MEI (9/5): 快適 - 部屋も広くて設備も整っていました！ホテルの周りの治安もよく観光地などはタクシーで10分程度で着きます。快適なホテルでした。朝ごはんも日本食があり嬉しかったです。 日系ホテルをわざわざ調べて予約したので日本語が通じるかなと思っていましたが一切通じません。簡単な英語と翻訳機でやり取りという感じです。もしかしたら話せるスタッフがいるかもしれませんがあまり期待しない方が良さそうです。

The staff were really friendly and extremely helpful. Great really big heated indoor pool . Spa service was fantastic both times. Rooms were large and very clean, beds very comfy. All up a great stay in a lovely hotel.

- Jyveturkie (6/5): Spacious room, otherwise unimpressive - The hotel is located closer to the airport than many of the older hotels, but it's about 15-20 minutes from the Old Quarter where many of the tourist sites and restaurants are. The area near the hotel has a number of cafes and small restaurants. We booked the 2-bedroom apartment for our family of four. The room was very spacious with two bathrooms, a living room, and a sizeable kitchen area with a full-sized fridge. Breakfast was adequate. It included an egg/omelette station and a pho station. There was more Asian than Western food. The hotel room was clean, but certainly in need of updating. I wish the beds and furniture had been more comfortable. The pool was similar in that it served its purpose while feeling old and tired. The last night of our stay, a bad odor (sewage smell) appeared in the main bathroom. It was strong enough that we had to close the bathroom to keep the smell out of the bedroom, and avoided using the bathroom for several hours. Overall, the Super Candle worked for our needs on this trip, but did not impress in any way. We will likely not stay again.

La petite marche pour descendre de la baignoire n'est pas très sécurisant. La piscine n'était pas aussi belle que sur les photos, un gros manque d'entretien.

- Nils (5/5): Für einen kurzen Aufenthalt solide und preislich attraktiv, jedoch mit deutlichem Renovierungsbedarf und einfachem Früh - Positiv: Das Super Candle Hotel ist für einen kurzen Aufenthalt von zwei bis drei Tagen in Hanoi absolut ausreichend und bietet ein sehr gutes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. Die Lobby und der Eingangsbereich wirken hochwertig und machen zunächst einen sehr guten Eindruck. Wir hatten eine sehr große Apartment-Suite mit zwei Schlafzimmern, Wohnzimmer, Küche, zwei Bädern und zusätzlichem Gäste-WC sowie außergewöhnlich viel Stauraum. Für ein paar Nächte fast schon überdimensioniert – eher eine Wohnung für einen längeren Aufenthalt. Die Lage ist praktisch: Mit Grab erreicht man die Altstadt in etwa 15 Minuten, Restaurants, kleine Läden und Einkaufsmöglichkeiten sind fußläufig erreichbar. Positiv hervorzuheben ist auch der Service: Unser erstes Zimmer roch stark nach Rauch, uns wurde jedoch sofort und unkompliziert ein anderes, sogar noch größeres Zimmer angeboten. Das war professionell gelöst. Verbesserungswürdig: Das Hotel ist insgesamt deutlich in die Jahre gekommen. Man sieht es der Einrichtung, den Zimmern und auch dem Poolbereich an. Alles funktioniert, aber es entspricht nicht dem Standard eines westlichen Vier-Sterne-Hotels. Eine Renovierung wäre sicherlich sinnvoll. Das Frühstück war in Ordnung, aber eher durchschnittlich. Es war grundsätzlich alles vorhanden, auch westliche Optionen, allerdings war die Qualität eher mittelmäßig. Säfte überzeugten nicht, und manches wurde erst auf Nachfrage nachgefüllt. Fazit: Für zwei bis drei Nächte in Hanoi eine solide und preislich attraktive Wahl. Für einen längeren Urlaub oder höhere Komfortansprüche würde ich eher eine modernere Alternative wählen. Das Hotel ist insgesamt deutlich in die Jahre gekommen. In vielen Bereichen sieht man einen klaren Renovierungs- und Reparaturstau – Möbel, Badezimmer und Poolbereich wirken abgenutzt und teilweise etwas abgewohnt. Technisch funktioniert zwar alles, optisch entspricht es jedoch nicht einem modernen Standard. Das Frühstück war sehr einfach gehalten. Die Auswahl war zwar vorhanden, die Qualität jedoch eher durchschnittlich, Säfte wirkten künstlich und Nachfüllungen erfolgten teilweise erst auf Nachfrage.

- Farid (6/5): - Les chambres sont superbes ! Suite à mon appartement et il y avait vraiment de l’espace et le mobilier récent avec la prime des toilettes japonaises. Le petit déjeuner était bien achalandé, copieux avec tous les styles à disposition que ce soit asiatique comme continental . Le staff était adorable. Je pense que il faut revoir absolument l’état de la piscine ainsi que du spa qui sont et je pèse mes mots « dégoûtants » Les vitres du spa sont pleines de calcaire et le carreaux de Carrelage sont blanchis par la saleté et le calcaire. Nous n’avons pas mis les pieds dans la piscine à cause de cela et encore moins dans le spa. Cela mérite vraiment un gros gros coup de nettoyage, et après je pense que ceci pourrait être du niveau de un hôtel de standard.( 10L vinaigre blanc devrait faire l’affaire.) C’est pour cela que ça a gâché notre séjour car nous n’avions pris aussi pour pouvoir profiter des installations et vu le prix ce n’est pas normal.

Informations pas donné en temps et en heure j'ai loupé mon vol à cause d'eux car je n'ai pas été mise au courant que les routes allaient être bloquées pour rejoindre l'hôtel et récupérer mes bagages afin que je parte car j'ai laissé mes bagages pour faire un tour en leurs prévenant. Ils m'ont dit ok et demandés quand je les récupére j'ai dit 17 h et ils m'ont pas prévenu des risques. même la promotion au niveau du que j'ai reçu par mail n'a pas bien été expliciter et donc du coup la promotion qui était valable lundi au vendredi, m'a causé des problèmes car je suis parti un samedi en ayant le mail qui confirmé que la promotion était valable, car il n'y avait pas les dates du lundi au vendredi. c'est l'un des pires hôtels que j'ai vu de ma vie. Ah oui le comble c'est qu'on me propose vu que j'ai raté mon vol et vu que l'hôtel était fou et que je ne pouvais pas booker une nuit supplémentaire, on me propose un hôtel de rechange. On m'y accompagne mais la dame à l'accueil me dit comme quoi il n'y a pas de place c'est vraiment très grave !

- Mahal2888 (10/5): Wonderful stay with family holidays - Impressive hotel Christmas hotel decorations, Concierge bell man services is efficient and helpful. My family stayed in 8th floor apartment suites, very spacious with 2 bedrooms and huge balcony overlooking Hanoi city, we enjoyed our stay and hotel services is exceptional, the breakfast buffet is busy but food is refilled well and noodle station chefs cooked good Vietnamese noodles soup. We wish we can stay longer but we need to explore Halong Bay Cruise, the hotel is at least 2 hours drive to Halong Bay.

Room was very big and accommodating for a family of four. The kitchen wasn't very well equipped and the bed was very hard. It was a bit of a walk to get to the main attractions in Hanoi. At times it was very loud given it was next door to a bar/outdoor entertaining area.

The spa facilities were particularly poor. Very tatty and rundown . The towels were like dish clothes. The sauna door didn’t have a handle inside, just 2 screws were the handle had broken off. Steam room was cold. Furniture and decor was basic in the room . The hotel needs some investment .

- Maria (3/5): Room is outdated! - The breakfast is good. The buffet dimsum is also good. My husband and I booked for 1 night in Studio Apartment. I asked for a downgrade as the toilet/bathroom is too far from the bedroom. The receptionist found a room (deluxe room) which is 2 size down than my original booking with a difference of 400,000 vietnamese dong in price. No refund was given as they don't do refunds, which is okay with us. What is not okay is after checking out, my husband received a call from the reception saying that we took the laundry bag and if we don't return it, we will be charged 100,000 vietnamese dong. We didn't check the little note stapled to the laundry bag in a rush to pack. Plus, we travelled a lot and never experienced a hotel charging us a laundry bag, that is why we didn't read the note. We returned the laundry bag as we were still at the hotel reception at that time. The fact that we downgraded our room and was not given a refund, we should have given some consideration by letting us take the laundry bag for free. We feel that it's all about money for them. Note: We stayed in the hotel 3 more nights as part of the tour group (not consecutive nights).The Superior room given to us is very small, hardly any room to move and not much room for luggages. The room and bathroom is outdated. The carpet is old. On the first night (the room that we booked ourselves, not by the tour company), we had the bathtub shower. Not safe for older people. The shower head is immovable. When the shower is turned on, the water is pointing towards the end of the bathtub, so we had to go towards the end of the bathtub to shower, not safe. We also had difficulty figuring out how to turn on the shower due its old age. We had to call for help to show me how to turn on the shower. On the extra days that we stayed (paid by the tour company), we requested for a stand up shower for safety. This time, the shower is leaking outside of shower cubicle which is also not safe when you get out of shower.

- SHARON (7/5): Pleasant stay - The closeness to the start line for the Standard Chartered Marathon. The spa facilities and services were very good value. Close walking distance to Vinhomes which had a shopping mall underneath with a huge selection of places to eat. We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment which was huge and had laundry facility in the kitchen. The restaurant which has a la carte or dim sum buffet. We had the buffet 2 night's and found it great value and substantial No milk The elevator is very slow Limited cooking utensils considering it's self contained. Breakfast one morning did not have any eggs, bacon or sausage this was after I did the marathon and there was still an hour of breakfast service left. The sound from the traffic They are step up shower/bath combination and I did slip and bruise myself.
