- Paul (10/5): Great - Location was superb
Food spot on,
Staff couldnt do enough The matress
- Katherine (4/5): Depressing - It was close to the person I was their to visit It was above the door of the bar that continually banged as customers went in and out during the evening the toilet took forever to fill after one flush the kettle for tea and coffee was behind the TV on a table There was only one bedside light for a double bed and the bedding looked like it needed iron The whole room needs an upgrade
- Mark (4/5): - It was close to the railway station NO HOT WATER AND NO KETTLE
- Richard G. Riley (6/5): Fine for a sleepover. - Location. Price. No toiletries at all. Single fold up bed collapsed when I sat on it. Had to stand on chair to open the skylight. Shower unit falling out the wall. Silicone around the bath looked mouldy.
- John (10/5): - The customers and the staff at the pub ( and their dogs). Great parking. Access after hours was easy
- Jack (4/5): Ok, but basic - No soap or shampoo
- Rob (3/5): One of the worst rooms I have stayed in - Black mould in the bathroom and around the window sills. No soap had to go out an buy some
- June (8/5): Lovely place - Lovely place to stay
- Jones (10/5): -
- Jones (10/5): -
- Brett (3/5): No hot water - The staff were friendly I had no hot water in the morning I had to wash my hair as I had treatment and it ruined it for the day
- Crane (1/5): - Nothing I was refused
(siehe Fotos)
Seife im Bad gab es auch nicht. :(
- Sally Coles (7/5): - Clean room Slightly dated
- David (8/5): A night at the Brunel Inn. - Great location and staff. Great value for money. The pub underneath is delightful and couldn't hear any noise from my room. Having no TV reception was irritating
- Rosie (10/5): Lovely friendly staff. Has the potential to be very loud… it is over a bar so that should not be a surprise. - The Brunel Inn is a very welcoming establishment. The owners were really kind and considerate It is very basic, and tired in its decor. I was there to sleep… so for me this was not a problem
- Kevin (5/5): OK for 1 night - you get what you pay for. - Owners seemed friendly.
Room was big. Extremely basic, a little more pride and effort with rooms and bedding would be better.
Its above a pub, so you expect some noise, it's not perfect for those who are light sleepers.
- Natasha (10/5): -
- nick (8/5): - lack of Breakfast
- Matthew (10/5): For the price , the accommodation was great , will defo use again - Amazing location and amazing staff, really friendly and welcoming , the food was great and reasonably priced.
- Amy (10/5): Dont often leave reviews but this place was worth it. - The staff were friendly and funny. Food was really good 👍 For the money the place is definitely worth it. Room furniture is really dated but room was clean and freshly painted. Can't complain for the price.
- Nitu (10/5): -
- Stephen (5/5): It satisfied my needs but next time i would stay at the Copthorne Hotel for the same price - The food was good ,, bar area nice though and the bed was really comfortable best nights sleep for months 11 hours , sorry but i did say my review wasnt going to be favourable . Out dated decor , bath panel broken DIY job of the silicone around bath and floor area , bar didnt sell real ale , tv didnt work , for the price you would expect a much better standsrd again i did say to the owner ? My review woukd nit be davourable
- Graham (9/5): -
- Richard (1/5): Awful - Nothing Booked then got a call saying pipes broken cant accomadate allegedly problem been going on for days yet they and booking.com still taking bookings they should of found me accommodation as there issue not mine nooe I had to sort it and pay again so as it stands they and booking.com have my money and neither have refunded id avoid and pay more elsewhere like I had to in the end
- Damola (8/5): Great value for money, good location and friendly staff. - Staff were really helpful and friendly, bed was comfortable and pillows too! Showers could be hotter!
- Phillip (6/5): For the purpose of our visit to Saltash the accommodation was fine. - Ideal location for the purpose of our visit to Saltash. There was no heating in the room at night. The heating came on about 7.00am.
The shaver point in the bathroom didn't function, nor the light with it.
Breakfast was not provided (which we were informed of at booking). Thankfully there was a cafe almost adjacent where we had a good breakfast.
- Emmanuella (8/5): Good - Very convenient Too much noise
- ROBERT (10/5): Lovely place to stay with the family - I really like the Inn staff was very helpful rooms was nice and big bed very comfy.i really nice place.
- Barry (4/5): Not happy - Where it was No breakfast kitchen not working
- Peter (1/5): Worst 4 nights sleep I’ve had in a long time - Decent area that’s all Shower head would leak when being used causing it to spray water every where. Worst mattress I’ve ever slept on in my life. Like a half filled water bed. Room was like a sauna and window was broken so couldn’t get any air. Plug behind double bed had a screw in one of the outlets. Single bed the frame was bent. So the mattress sagged. Friday night there was a fight or argument outside of the pub and no effort was made to disperse it. Went on for at least an hour
- Manwar (7/5): It was good to have rest at night so you can easily complete your trip there. - Breakfast was not included so don't have any idea.
- Stephen (8/5): -
- David (8/5): - Great value, tremendous staff. Super location. Perfect base to visit the area. Available food in the restaurant for dinner and breakfast.
- Jayne (5/5): Hot and stuffy - The staff were friendly and the room was clean. Free car parking was also useful. The mould around the bath/shower and the mould around the velux window. Didn't like just having a velux window and not a proper window. The room was extremely hot so we tried turning a radiator down and we also had to open the velux window. The toilet wasn't dirty but the silt hadn't been scrubbed off.
- Victoria (4/5): Would not recommend this place - Location Bed just about vent out of shape. Internet poor. Staff seemed uninterested
- David (8/5): - Nice position for visiting places
- Kirkwood (9/5): A Comfortable Stay - Excellent double room. Large en-suite bathroom, well appointed. Comfortable.
Good location in the middle of Saltash. Nothing, but my only comment is that as I visited at a time of unusually cold weather the bed could have done with a thicker duvet.
As a single occupant of a double bed, I was able to fold the duvet over. Otherwise it might have been a little chilly.
- Chris (7/5): -
- David (5/5): - Location, friendly pub with great live band. Bathroom very tired , shower screen broken leaking water everywhere and bath panel broken.
Noisy at kicking out time but then you are above a busy pub 🍺🍺
- Thomas (8/5): -
- Jayne (9/5): Very enjoyable - Very friendly and accommodating , gave us a bigger twin room as I had only been able to book a double on the booking site.
Enjoyed a good sauvignon at the bar
Ate out at a very good nepalese/indian restaurant a 3 minute walk away as the Inn kitchen not open on a Tuesday
- Gary (8/5): -
- JrmGolem (7/5): Great people have a lot of work ahead of them - The owners were very friendly and helpful. They have only been. In the premises a very short time.
Unfortunately the mattresses were dreadful, as we were only there one night it didn't matter. The beds
- Darren (8/5): Perfect for the money - Absolutely wonderful Pub
Just within under new management and I believe he’s gonna do really well
It will be a wonderful place Stayed there before wasn’t impressed by previous management of the new management is overwhelmed me and I it would be will be great
- Denise (2/5): Never again - The location The bedroom was very basic, really hard bed,no mattress protecter, sheets pillows quilts and covers, smelt like they were used and not washed for weeks the stains on them suggested that,no toiletries in bathroom apart from an inch x inch very brittle piece of soap, the towels were grained and needed to be binned
- Sarah (7/5): - Friendly staff, nice double room with TV , bath with overhead shower, easy side access so you can come and go as you please.
On site parking .
Great location, literally on the doorstep of the shops If you choose to go and have a wander .
The food menu has had an over hall with very reasonable prices, whether a light bite or a hearty meal they have you covered
Nice atmosphere in the actual pub and they have an indoor child's play area which has several toys, a lovely play kitchen aswell.
Wishing the new management every success with their new venture. As The Brunel is under new management they know they have a few things to change and freshen up so it's unfair for me to criticize an already ongoing up do.
- rebecca (1/5): Poor hygiene , not clean and unpleasant - Looks ok from the outside Arrived too stay for a long weekend visiting friends. Was shown to our room (5) and on entering the room was all foggy and smoky. Upon inspection the pillows were yellow and dirty. The bathroom was mouldy, dirty and generally not clean at all. The shower was rusty and floor damaged. We went to reception to complain and were offered another room (10). This was even worse with dirty yellow pillows, mouldy bathroom, bath panel hanging off and just a really poor state. Complained too reception and was told the manager wasn’t available. Contacted booking.com and they lodged my complaint but by all accounts you will only get a refund if the property agrees. This is with providing photos of the rooms. So the hotel can just ignore and reject booking.coms request and that’s it, no more accountability.
Have also sent a polite email too the hotel with photos attached and they have not even acknowledged it
If you want a nice weekend away don’t stay
- Paul (7/5): Friendly, comfortable, with a great location. - Great location on the high st in Saltash, friendly pub, staff & locals were inviting. Bathroom in my room could do with a deep clean
- Simon (7/5): Good value and very friendly staff - Staff were very friendly and helpful Kitchen was out of commission so we had to get a take away. However the staff provided us with condiments etc and allowed us to eat inside in the dining area.
- Maria (10/5): Staff were super helpful! - Very friendly and helpful service
- Shirall (7/5): -
- YANTO (4/5): STAYED TWO NIGHTS BUT WASNT IMPRESSED AT ALL. WON'T BE STAYING THERE AGAIN. - LOCATION IDEAL. DECOR AND FITMENTS TIRED LOOKING AND THE BED MATTRESS WAS VERY SPRINGY AND UNCOMFORTABLE TO LIE ON.
SHOWER WAS ONLY LUKE WARM AND AT TIMES EVEN COLD.

- Timothy (10/5): -
- Ahmed (9/5): comfortable - good comfortable polite and friendly closed early
- Price (4/5): - Cheep No heating noisy room not clean
- Maxine (3/5): Very run down rooms - It was on Saltash high street. Pubs , restaurants shops on the high street The rooms, bedding & towels clean The pub itself is lovely. The rooms are so dated & run down. I understood they are new owners so obviously will take time & money. Once they are updated I'm sure it will be a great place to stay
- Antony (7/5): -
- Robert (6/5): Average - Room we stayed in was comfortable but tired, weekend music was loud but finished at 11pm, staff could not do enough for you unfortunately we stayed while a manager change over so no food available, little cafe next door claires kitchen is recommended, nice micro pub down high st, the Brunel suited our needs and price was very reasonable
- Pauline (4/5): Very very disappointed - Paid for a a deluxe room and it was definitely not deluxe.towels were poor the whole experience was very uncomfortable didn’t sleep well at all 😩 was not worth £95 that we paid and that was just for the room
- Amoshie (8/5): -
- albert (1/5): - I didn't sleep in the hotel because it wasn't up to standard. I only stayed for 10 minutes before I left. The bathroom was an eyesore and also the beds and bedding. The toilet was left unflushed and unclean by the previous occupants. The bathroom was full of mould. The bedspreads and duvet were old. I spoke to the receptionist when I handed the keys back to her. Her response was 'Sorry I can't do anything you have to contact booking.com'. You need to investigate. I tried to contact you on Saturday but to no avail.
- Dube (10/5): -
- Janice (3/5): Not a very good experience - Bed was comfortable Plug didn’t fit the bathroom sink very well and the water kept running out before you could finish having a wash. There was no glasses in the bathroom to wash your mouth out with. The teacups were not very good and the table they were on was stained and ripped. The bath had black mould around and on the tiles.
The small window in the bedroom had black mould all around the frame and you couldn’t open it.
- phil (4/5): Stay somewhere else - No food in the pub, TV had a damaged screen , no hot water.
- Frances (5/5): - Location very good. Loud music on both nights
- Daniel (2/5): Disgusting - The worst place we have stayed in years. Played dance music till 11:30pm every night, sheets had blood on them, bathroom had black grime around the shower/bath. Stay well clear
- amanda (2/5): Very disappointing - Parking The room was dowdy and horrible. Ancient furniture, creased bedding that looked grey and unclean. Really old towels. No shower gel. Tired looking tea tray! Even the tea bags looked old. Hard to work window and blind.
- Kassie (10/5): -
- David (4/5): - Good location. Bed was not made properly. Bedding looked grubby. Long black hair (not ours) in the bed.

Room 10
Described as Deluxe Double!, I wouldn't give it one star.
2 bath towels and one hand towel that looked as though they had been used and refolded. I didn't feel brave enough to do a 'sniff' test.
No hot water after letting it run for two minutes.
No bath mat.
Bath panel hanging off.
No toilet roll holder.
No hand rails for shower. No nonslip mat either.
Main light in bathroom didn't work and kept flickering so light not adequate to see to shave.
Not even any soap, although information board on wall on way in states 'toiletries'.
No milk for tea and coffee.
We didn’t stay. Then had to fight for refund. Have written this sfter cooling fown period.
Room was generally grubby and not welcoming.
Lack of equipment and facilities would not qualify this room for one star on any tourism rating scheme, let alone a description of 'Deluxe'.
- Stephen (1/5): Worst ever - Location No toiletries in bathroom.
Bed was uncomfortable and smelt of stale sweat pillows were flat and smelt of stale sweat tv was broken surfaces were sticky
- Estabrook (1/5): - Made no effort to sort out t.v. very sticky sides from previous tenants, room a good size just need to be more connected to the customer
- stephanie paul (6/5): It was good as friendly place, staff was very friendly. - It was close to the local land market the Tamar bridge and railway bridge of history. Bring back memories when I was younger. The staff was very friendly, helpful. Good that there was a car park for people that was staying could use it. There wasn't any breakfast, there wasn't any food in the pub.the pillows were uncomfortable too hard. You could hear music coming up to the room from the pub, also you could hear everyone and anything out side either people talking under neath the window or the traffic on the road outside in main street. Room doors banging when you closed it plus the lock couldn't push down to make sure it was locked when in the room.
- singh (8/5): - Staff is very cooperative Internet is slow and king-size bed mattress is not good condition
- mary angelie (8/5): - the bath tub has molds
- Carla (8/5): -
- Manya (1/5): Don’t stay here! - Downstairs was decent The room was filthy, no towels or toilet roll! I had to go and buy bleach to clean the room, the smell
Of urine on the bathroom floor was disgusting! The carpet was covered in fried rice, thick dust everywhere!
- AndyA (10/5): -
- David (1/5): -
- Shabnam (3/5): It could be really better with no noise and with useable matress - Location and appearance was great No fridg- loud sounds-mattres was totaly broken and not useable- staff didn’t informed me any thing. Even didnt know how to put back key.took my 30 min to find what to do and i ran late and paid fine for my next booking
- Christian (10/5): -
- Mabel (4/5): - Our double room at this hotel was airless, stuffy and smelt stale. The windows wouldn’t open and it was very hot and humid weather. A double room with only 1 bedside lamp. Dirty towels from a previous resident in the bathroom, bath panel adrift from the bath, 2 mismatched cups. Overall a very tacky experience. We liked Saltash and the cafe across the road was lovely for breakfast.
- Briony (8/5): Good. - No breakfast included. We were comfortable and made welcome.Breakfast would have been nice and a fan in the room as the temperature was very hot when we were there.
- Verified traveler (4/5): I wish we hadn't stayed - It might be better during the week but there is live music on Friday and Saturday nights. A sign mentioned that they would normally stop by 11pm but they were still playing and singing until 0:35am. Our room was just on top of the 'entertainment' area and the bass and singers were very loud and you could hear the door banging shut whenever someone left the pub. Beds and mattresses were very uncomfortable and smelly, the towels were not very clean. The window was single glazing so you could unfortunately hear all the guests chatting/shouting in front of the pub. Bathroom had seen better days, no soap was provided and there was no ventilation. The fan was so clogged up it no longer worked. It might be ok for guests who can no longer drive home after a night out, but if you are hoping for a good night's sleep better stay elsewhere.
- Dorota (3/5): - Location, size of the room , bathroom in the room Broken window, too hot in the room , towels meant to be white there were dirty ( stained and looked like it wasn't washed ) lady at the bar was looking at us like we were doing something wrong , her face was saying " you are not welcome here , take your kids from here " . We went there only for one night as a stop during our road trip around Cornwall with kids.
- Emily (7/5): -
- georgina (9/5): -
- Jay (6/5): Not bad. - Towels didn’t smell great. No soap. Very hot in the rooms. Quite basic. Fine but wasn’t amazing value. Moretti was great on tap. Pool table was good. Staff were good. Friendly
- Nicola (1/5): Poor, unhygienic and over priced. - The member of staff who shows us in and provided key was polite and helpful. The beds appeared unchanged from previous guests, there was dots of blood and hairs on under sheets and duvet. Furthermore the beds were very uncomfortable and noisy to turn on, the springs had gone. The pillows were dirty, stained, and did not smell pleasant. The carpet was dirty in places. Two of the towels (which became our bedding) were clean, however the other two smelt stale. The toilet seat partially slid off whist being used almost causing the user to fall in the bath.
We’d booked for two nights and chose to cut our losses and stayed at another hotel for the second night. Not impressed considering the room cost £180 for 2 nights.
