Guest Reviews
- Naydine (1/5): - Iocation I requested handicap. Was not equiped for disabled. had a tub instead of walk in shower, no handrails
- Owens (9/5): - Location is perfect for visiting our grand & great grandchildren The bed was to hard
- Beddow (5/5): - The room was dirty.
- Sanjay (4/5): No proper cleaning - No Breakfast . After wake up first thing to do is looking for breakfast. Cleaning is not good . I found lots of trash above the bed . The linen is full of hair whose is that i don't know . I stay there for 8 night they only clean my room and change my linen one time. All Linen are damaged by cigarettes. I found lots of hole
- Smith (10/5): - Yes Yes
- Everett (2/5): - The property was filthy, it was infested with bedbugs, and the staff was nowhere to be found. The clientele did not make me feel safe. I didn’t even spend the night there.
- Linda (6/5): - the price was right but the curtains were torn, run was torn, bathroom curtain was hun backwards. The firepit looked like garbage was being burned outside, the phone didn't work for room to room communications. The property needs a bit of TLC to fix it up.
- Linda (6/5): - The toilet hadn't been flushed. The shower wasn't clean. There was dirt on the bathroom floor.
- Melissa (2/5): - It had hot water and an ac It was dirty and run down there was trash still under the night stand the sheets had stains on them we slept on the top cover and got our own blanket and pillows
- Verified traveler (10/5): My trip - Are stay was great
- Boudjemaa (10/5): -
- Richard (8/5): - Handicap room needs a shower chair in the walk in shower
- chartrand (1/5): Cheap price, staff screws you - The price was dirt cheap I called to see if I could check in around 10am on my arrival date which was earlier than the time frame I selected during the booking. The gentleman said I could check in anytime. I confirmed he said anytime and he stated yes for a 2ndtime. I showed up at 945, he states he neverr said that and he needed to charge me $20 extra for earlier check in. I needed the room at that particular time hence my asking him the day before. So I paid the $20 because I was in a bind. Definitely wouldn't go there again as he scammed me.
- Anonymous (1/5): We did not stay after looking at the room. We drove to Watertown, New York and stayed at the Holiday Inn. - Nothing Everything! Dirty, stinks bad, curtins were torn, floors were dirty, found 2 bugs crawling across the bed, shower curtain was torn. This place was a disaster!!!
- Zachary (6/5): - Very unspectacular. Dated and dingy. Nothing was horrendous, but nothing stood out either. Mattress was old and lumpy. A few small stains on the bedspread. Slightly musty smell in the room but not overwhelming. Spartan and utilitarian. Fine for a night, decent value for the price.
- Thomas (8/5): - Clean basic hotel. Not fancy, but bed was comfortable and the room was clean.
- Jeanne (6/5): - We paid $24 for Continental breakfast but they don't offer it. We were also told check out was 11, but it is really 10. The site needs to be updated to what the hotel offers.
- Jacquelyn (10/5): Thanks for the memories pleasent night stay - I have been away from the area for six or more years, and when I left their was no hotel here. So when my husband and I drove up from MD we were GREATLY realived to see the pleasant night in in west Carthage NY by price chopper, because after a 7 drive a stop to see family it was going to be a long drive to lowville or Watertown to get a room. This place is great and everything you possibly would need to know is directly and clearly posted at the front desk. Also the coffee is always a good day starter. Thank you for the memories and we appreciate you and your staff. I really don't have anything to complain about. It was clean quiet and warm bed was comfy and It was a great place
- Joan (8/5): We needed a low cost pet friendly hotel that was clean, safe, and comfortable and this hotel definitely fit the bill. - Value for money, clean, recently upgraded, no smoking throughout the whole property
- Owens (8/5): Very good - Convenient location
- Scott (2/5): Awful - Awful place do not stay here. It was empty and obvious why
- Linda (10/5): - Nice place to stay
- Antoinette (1/5): Non Persona Grata - I reserved a room for me and my adult son, who has a severe Intellectual Disability He had a mild vocal outburst lasing a few seconds. The night Manager immediately said , that he will not be able to stay there because he will disturb the other. I tried reasoning with him but to no avail. I kindly asked him to return my monies spent. He refused and told me take it up with Booking.com. I called the police to document the incident. The entire incident was an insult to me and my son. This incident caused a ripple affect. My son was to have surgery the following day. He needed to eat prior to bedtime and then nothing by mouth after 12 am. This incident was the catalyst that caused him not to eat on time thus I was unable to follow his physicians orders. The whole purpose of the trip was to book a hotel near the hospital. I eventually left the Carthage, NY hotel. I booked a room in the Hilton Garden Inn in Watertown, NY. We had a lovely breakfast in their dining area. We took our time eating; no pressure. We checked out at 2 pm. We enjoyed all of their emeneties. The staff did not prejudge my son or have issue with his disability. He made not a sound the night nor our entire stay. I tipped everyone for their excellent customer service. Everyone we met made us feel special. When I come into Watertown again, Hilton Garden Inn will always be the place I chose to lay my head down for a good night's rest. And from my recent experience me nor my son will have to pass "The Worthiness Test" which caused us to be rejected by the hotel staff at Pleasant Inn in Carthage NY. The Night Manager was very rude.
- James (8/5): Thnx Pleasent Inn for the overbite stay. - Location good...didn't have breakfast, breakfast waiting for me @ race track. N/A
- Lloyd (10/5): Good Find: Inexpensive, Clean, & Safe Feeling - I look for lodging in smaller communities because I worry about my car etc in urban areas. This was comfortable and quiet. Not much business it seems as I counted only five cars as I left early in the morning.
I’ll return next time I find myself in the Watertown area.
- Owens (8/5): Convineant location to our grand children - No breakfast A coffee maker in our room
- John (2/5): Awful would not recommend this pace to anyone. - Only hotel near where I had to go People partying and stuff all night every night, needed to add a couple nights due to funeral arrangements and they charged me 28 dollars more a night
- James (1/5): Bad - This facility was absolutely disgusting there was blood on the pillows half of the rooms are loaded with broken appliances.the breakfast they offer is just coffee and they person who ran the front desk was so rude it was unbelievable.
- Anne (8/5): - Convenient to highway. Clean. Quiet.
- Janice (5/5): Ok - Very old. Torn curtains. Holes in sheets
- Chris (3/5): Meh will not return - They lie there is no free breakfast it’s only coffee
- Ethan (1/5): AVOID AT ALL COSTS - The only positive thing I can say was the ONLINE pricing First of all, the shower curtains were torn/tattered. The bathroom sink leaks when you turn on the bed is extremely uncomfortable,(like sleeping on a cardboard covered spring)and the beds are completely filthyand looks like staff just puts new sheets over the old ones.(my bed had 4 fitted sheets on it.) The housekeeping didn’t show up until I requested and all they did was take the trash and replace the towels, no bed sheet exchange or room tidying. The mini fridge has so freezer and struggles to hold temperature. The ac leaks making the carpet around it wet a great opportunity for mold to grow. I talked to the locals and also that the owners are known for housing sex offenders and homeless people so take that as you will. This is by far the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. And I’ve been traveling for 3 years
- Ethan (1/5): A Sweet disappointment - The online pricing Everything about this hotel is what you hope a hotel isn’t. Do not expect room service to clean your room and do not expect them to come unless you ask. By far the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had.
- Orakwao (1/5): Bad -
- Kimberly (1/5): Bad - Had druggies using drugs out back and just wasn't a comfortable place to stay
- Paul (6/5): - Room was next to a storage area. Noise at 4:30am
- Paul (8/5): - Mm
- Rafael (1/5): Bad - the place is very dirty.
- Joe (7/5): Good -
- Roger (8/5): - Large room. Clean.
- Rahim (1/5): Bad -
- Andrea (2/5): - Checked in looked at room and checked out did not even stay in room.
- Brett (4/5): - Front desk was very rude. The room was decent but the price was very fair for what we needed.
- Cynthia C. (4/5): - They honored our request for ground floor room close to parking. I think there were only a few guests, so that was easy.
The beds were comfortable. The microwave & fridge were clean & worked fine. Old, wornout furniture in the room--scratched, gouged up, etc. Sticky bathroom floor. Seriously in need of upgrades.
"Breakfast" was coffee & tea--thankfully we weren't planning on it being our actual meal.
Huge issue with checkout time. Listed on Expedia as 11am, when I checked in, I was told 10am & they charge an extra day immediately for late checkout. AND they have a sign saying 10am!
Chatted with Expedia--they called the property & were told, something like "No we have 11am not 10am checkout. No extra charge if they stay until 11! We have an early checkout option." But they have that sign...and EVERY hotel lets you leave before the official checkout time!
I wasted my key points on this one!
- Gary (4/5): Would not stay here again as it is not as advertised. Only coffee available for breakfast. - Reasonable price. No breakfast as advertised. Property is dated and shows it’s age.
- Maren (8/5): Very good -
- Brennan (1/5): It was quiet enough and we weren’t bothered but the whole place needs a lot of attention. They should check the rooms b - Close to food and groceries Microwave didn’t have a tray, refrigerator did not work, I don’t think the blankets were clean, the shower curtain was falling off and the common areas were filthy
- Jessica (1/5): Bad - It was cheap. The room smelled horribly. I had to wipe down the toilet as soon as I got there because it was disgusting. The worst was that there were roaches all over the place.
- Tyler (10/5): Everything was great! I appreciated the stay. - The value was great. The room was clean. There were some bleach spots on the carpets but other than that the mattress seemed new and the bedding was good. There was also a fridge and microwave in the room. For the value everything was great. Some physical things like the lamps or curtains were older and well used. However everything was clean and I appreciate having a better value.
- Carsten (1/5): Bad -
- Kayla (2/5): Very poor - Very cheap and had an open room when we wanted to go see the solar eclipse. The room was dirty- dust everywhere, there was stuff on the floor (socks, loose medication, candy) beneath the sheets hanging off the side of the bed. (The side of the bed went down to the floor, it's not like this stuff was "under" the bed).
Also there were some red stains on the wall? Lowkey seemed like something bad had happened.
It didn't inspire confidence in the bedding, which had uneven texture and wasn't super comfortable.
Frankly it was the worst hotel i've stayed in ever, and I didn't see a single housekeeping person in the hotel. Maybe they were unusually swamped for the eclipse, but it doesn't really excuse not cleaning the rooms.
- Terri (8/5): Very good -
- Ronald (2/5): - They have bed bugs, stains on the walls, towels and sheets, cigarette burns on blankets and sheets and carpet ripped in multiple spots
- Linda (8/5): - Very good
- Jessie (1/5): Uncomfortable and very dirty - Room was dirty, staff was gross, and other guest was wierd. Never again Everything
- Naydine (10/5): - Easy to get and close to our grandkids
- Ken (2/5): - The room I had booked was not ready, key lock didn’t work, was moved to a different incomplete room that was dirty and when I asked for room service was not given any for the entire stay. The only person who I had encountered actually came to get me in my room with a bad door lock with a towel wrapped around him as if he had just gotten out of the shower. Very unprofessional!
- Anthony (1/5): I wouldn't go back there unless I absolutely needed a roof over my head - There was no breakfast. The price was way too expensive for the services they had. The front dest guy was a miserable man and was very rude
- Walter (2/5): - I didn’t like anything about my stay…
- John (4/5): Was it a horrible experience and I never back to this hotel!!!!!!!! - Not applicable The Hotel looks old and smells not good
- Brian (8/5): - Only game in town
- Brenda (4/5): Disappointing -
- Dean S (6/5): - I stayed only overnight in October. Property a bit tired and run down. Bed decent slept ok. Pillows ok. Shower clean and water pressure decent. Served it’s purpose for a 1 night stay. I usually stay at the hotels in Evans Mills when I’m up but was only up for 1 day and needed to be as close to Carthage as possible. Not sure if u recommend at all if you want nice atmosphere because place is really only useful for a quick in and out situation.
- Joseph (4/5): Disappointing - Location is good Very dark
- Judy (8/5): Very good -
- Owens (8/5): Very good -
- Joseph (10/5): Exceptional -
- Melanie (6/5): It was okay for what we needed. Actually slept pretty good. - No coffee or breakfast available, location was good for us. Offer coffee and tea for the morning.
- Donald (10/5): - Friendly Staff and great service.
- Lafountaine (1/5): Bad - NOTHING..dirty unkempt old smelled should I go on? Everything
- Anonymous (7/5): Good -
- Derek (5/5): It was advertised as a 2 star hotel. That seems about right. NOT a good deal for the price. - It was relatively close to where I needed to be, and there were not many other choices. It was clean and had the amenities I wanted (refrigerator, microwave, TV, WiFi, air conditioning). Refrigerator was quite noisy, and I had to turn it way down. Air conditioning was also noisy - it seemed to have 3 mode - cold air blowing, completely off, and compressor running (least often). The compressor was quite loud. I turned down the air conditioning some, and the compressor went on much less often. But the room could have been cooler. It usually took several times for the electronic key to work (annoying). TV seemed to only change channels a single channel up or down at a time. If there was another way, I couldn't find it (perhaps instructions would have been nice).
- Carol (2/5): - You should reconsider your association with this motel. Upon arrival we noticed many men drinking near the fire pit area, "o.k. men traveling enjoying each others company." About 10 p.m. definite yelling and fighting in one or more rooms. About 2 am woman screaming and other's loud talking.
In morning we were told by community business persons this is a known temporary residence for released pedophiles and sex offenders.
IF THIS IS TRUE THEN:
We, the usual traveler, should not be uninformed and exposed to this situation and possible danger. Plus, we need our sleep!
Understanding there are laws; I need to trust you will only offer me safe, honest and reliable residences for me to sleep while on vacation.
Again, reconsider your association with this and any other such motels. Or find a legal way to warn your clients!
- Kenneth (5/5): Passable -
- Gloria (3/5): Will not stay again - Location Torn lampshades, lumpy worn-out pillows, old and dirty carpet smelly hallways, no breakfast, coffee was only available part of the time.
- Jonni (8/5): Decent - It was just fine. No problems. Perfectly adequate.
- Nancy (5/5): Passable - The men at the front desk is very polite and helpful but the room wasent very clean i Wonder if they ever change de bed sheat 🤔🤔
No Coffee machine in the room and none at the front desk either 👎
But for 70$ it is ok i guess !!!
- Diana (6/5): Pleasant -
- Shawn (1/5): Bad -
- Ruth (2/5): - The entire place smells so strongly of deodorizer it left my eyes and throat burning. Lots of road noise and uncomfortable beds. Obvious stains on sheets and carpet. Bathroom was surprisingly clean so getting a shower was the best part of my stay. This place has seen better days.
- Anonymous (1/5): Bad - Smelled like curry
- Joseph (2/5): Very poor -
- Jacynthe (5/5): Passable - The beds were confortable, enough pillows.
Bathroom was clean. Because of my genius discount, I had a free breakfast at this motel. However, once we're there, the clerk says they haven't been serving breakfast for 2 years....
I think they forgot to notify Booking, and I didn't get my free breakfast. I had chosen this establishment in part because of the breakfast, so I was not very happy.
- James (8/5): Clean, quiet, comfortable, run down - This location was clean, quiet, and comfortable. The rooms are spacious. The entire place is a bit run down, which is reflected in the price you pay. Bedding looks like it's straight out of the 1970s. Carpets in the hallways and rooms show some kind of stains at the edges by the walls, looks like bleach. Overall it wasn't a bad stay, I'd stay here again if in the area.
- Justin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alejandra (10/5): Quiet and comfortable stay - Perfect location
- German (8/5): Very good -
- Robin (5/5): It would be a nice place to stay if it had some basic repairs - Staying here let me be closer to my family gathering which was the sole purpose of my trip. This facility needs several routine maintenance repairs (leaking faucets, slow draining tub, ripped and bent window screens, TV remotes not working). Replace stained and cigaret burned bedding, torn shower curtain. There was never anyone at the front desk. The room description noted a single serve coffee maker in rooms and there wasn’t one and no cups to drink from. The vending machines are extremely overpriced. Thankfully there were stores nearby to quickly grab whatever was needed.
- Terri (10/5): Exceptional -
- Luis (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jason (1/5): Bed Bugs - Nothing Bed bugs, holes, and stains in sheets, dried vomit outside of our door. The property has a smell of stale cigarette smoke and bleach. The room is as clean as they can make it. The air conditioning doesn't work, the window screens have holes. The fridge was clean. The bed bugs and their reaction to them, we brought a live one to them, is the most chilling. The response was oh sorry. We checked out, and they ghosted booking.com and our attempts at communicating. There is no reason to stay here. Upon us driving g 5 hours hone through the night and pouring rain, we find another bed bug as we are showering and washing clothes.
- Hill (10/5): Exceptional - Clean quit and close to where we riding our atv's The beds where pretty uncomfortable
- Matthew (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jennavieve (2/5): - The matress protectors where stained. The beds where hard as rocks. It was just a very unpleasant stay i would never recomend anyone stay there.
- Matthew (10/5): Exceptional -
- Istvan (1/5): It isn't worth the money. - Q: What did you like?
A: Not too much. The water temperature and the room temperature was at it should be. The cleanliness could have been much better. The quality of the room was less than ideal including the ripped curtain , stained bedsheet, loud heating unit that made sleeping almost impossible and bathtowels with large holes in them.
- Joe (9/5): Superb -
- Owens (10/5): Exceptional - Location was PERFECT for us in relationships of our grandkids lived 14 miles from there
- Raplee (5/5): Questionable! - NO BREAKFAST OR COFFEE IN ROOM! TV OK. WIFI WORKED NO COFFEE OR BREAKFAST OR SHAMPOO! NOISY NEIGHBORS. SMOKING TOO CLOSE TO FRONT DOOR! FELT UNSAFE! Shower curtain unclean!
- Christopher (7/5): Good -
