- scott (8/5): - The cabins were rustic and quant. Very clean and quiet. It was nostalgic with a rack of dvd's in the lobby and dvd integrated tv's in the room. It tied everything together. Obviously this isn't a posh hotel but it's a great way to spend some time with the family and take a step back from the every day hustle. The home made breakfast was a nice touch, I think the owners are doing a great job with running the place. The only thing I didn't like was that they charged us for a third person. I went with my two young boys and it was an additional $20 or so for the third. Not a huge deal but I'm not sure what justified that expense as we had a two bed room.
- Vincent (10/5): Amazing stay, will stay again - The homemade breakfasts each morning exceeded expectations!! N/A
- Hilary (10/5): It is a perfect place for a getaway - The location is perfect. The breakfasts were thoughtful, pretty and delish and to eat outside was lovely. the pillows!
- Hoda (9/5): -
- Sam (10/5): Nice cozy rooms, comfortable bed. Good breakfast. - Nice cozy rooms, comfortable bed. Good breakfast.
- Talina (10/5): This was a last minute booking that turned out to be an unexpected gem! - Comfortable, convenient, affordable
- Connor (10/5): - Amazing scenery and location, great breakfast.
- Thomas (9/5): - Lovely location and friendly staff, including an adorable dog called Otis.
There was a different home cooked breakfast every day which was excellent and there was tea and coffee available all day in reception.
The room was very spacious and comfortable and equipped with a microwave, fridge and new TV
The room has a nice little patio area with two chairs and a view of the mountains - gorgeous.
There were some excellent restaurants within a few minutes drive as well - Pearl's Place and Pantry is highly recommended! Nothing
- Mary (10/5): - Loved our stay at North Shire Lodge..
- Robert (10/5): I did a lot of research in choosing the right place to stay; we were not disappointed. - Large room with cathedral ceiling, comfortable bed, strong shower, excellent homemade breakfasts in a very comfortable setting - inside the lodge or out on the deck, privacy, beautiful mountain view, large scenic, well-kept property, friendly hosts, very Vermonty with a touch of class, close to Manchester, Stratton, Bromley, Mount Equinox Skyline Drive, and the Lincoln family's Hildene estate. Can't think of a thing!

- Paul (9/5): Very happy we found this place. - Location was just where we wanted. Beautiful area and great restaurants.
I did experience some drawbacks. These are my issues but I am sure there are others who’s situation are similar. I found the bathroom a little hard physically. The toilet is old and extremely low. Difficult to get up & down. My travel partner also found it very low.
And the bath tub was extremely high. Very difficult to get in to. The grab bar was not in a good place to help with getting in and out. I realize these are ADA adaptations that come with an expense to implement these features but in this day and age I am surprised that it is not mandatory. Some changes would make it a much easier / safer experience.
Also, sadly we found the mattress way to hard and had a frame around it that actually hurt the back of your legs getting in and out of bed.
Other than those constructive points of interest we found the Inn to be just what we wanted.
The room was nice and spacious and well appointed. The view out the slider door was so peaceful and beautiful. Just what we wanted.
The choice of breakfast was great. And to have extra choices was wonderful as well. A bowl of cereal or yogurt before your hot breakfast is a great addition.
Our hosts are a lovely couple and it was a pleasure to have met them.
Perhaps in the near future some ADA accessible changes would make a good visit a great experience.
Looking forward to a visit in the future.
Thanks to our hosts!!!!! Mattress was way too hard with a very uncomfortable edge around the frame.
Wish bathroom had better ADA features.
- anitaefrango (10/5): Gorgeous place and views - The moment you drive into the property is WOW. what a location, what a view. The cabins are cozy, the owners delightful. The property is also greatly located, a close drive to a ton of good restaurants, and a lot of things to do nearby. This is more on me than on North Shire Lodge, but I forgot to bring my earplugs and I can't sleep with any noise, and as it is the case in about 99% of all hotels and the like, the AC is loud. So don't forget your ear plugs at home if you can't sleep with noise (likely only a summer months issue).
- Whiteside (10/5): -
- Melek Efşan (9/5): -
- Susan (10/5): - Thanks so much, a wonderful experience, I only wish we could stay longer
- David (10/5): - Friendly, quiet, Excellent breakfast, clean, easy parking in front of your room.
- Tom (10/5): - Family ran business and a beautiful view
- Pet8 (10/5): Charming Lodge with Warm Hospitality - The rooms had a lovely vintage charm that perfectly matched the character of the lodge, and the view from the back was beautiful. The accommodations were comfortable and inviting. The family who runs the lodge was incredibly friendly and served a delicious breakfast each morning. There’s even a pool to enjoy and a sweet dog on the property who added a fun, homey touch. I’d absolutely recommend this place to anyone visiting the area.
- Maria (10/5): Exceptional -
- Michael (8/5): Very good -
- Sarah (10/5): - After scrambling to find a place to stay for the night after the weather kept us longer than planned, I’m so glad we came across this place! You will not find better or kinder service, and the view is unbeatable and all for a very reasonable price! Breakfast was also excellent, and Otis is adorable! We will definitely be coming back here.
- Lindsey (9/5): Superb -
- Shannon (10/5): - Great home base for ski adventures!!
- Michael (10/5): - Clean, welcoming and very cozy. Homemade hot breakfast or a continental breakfast for a quick grab n go option included. Will definitely be back!!
- Tyson (10/5): Exceptional - Friendly owners with knowledge of the area to help with a great vacation. The breakfasts are amazing.
- Alexandra (9/5): Great place to get away with a homey vibe - The hosts were wonderful. The location is peaceful and easy to find. They had hot breakfast that was freshly prepared when you arrive for breakfast. That was the most pleasant experience. And the cute dog!! <3 Great place for watching stars because it was super dark outside. N/A
- Kathryn (10/5): The only negative was having to leave! Great choice in the Manchester area. - This is a small lodge operated by a lovely couple, Brad and Stacy, who left other professions behind to become innkeepers. The accommodations, while not new, are spacious, sparking clean, and have everything one needs for a comfortable stay: coffeemaker, microwave and minifridge, Parking is conveniently right in front of the units for easy unloading, and each of them have a small deck with chairs for enjoying the expansive view across the lawn. You can choose to have a continental breakfast, or sign up the night before for one of the several sittings for one of Stacy's delicious made-for-you choices; highly recommended, and a great opportunity to meet some other guests. Bonus? Otis the dog is the bomb; wish I could have taken him home! There is a pool but it was closed for the season and not something we would have used anyway. It's all good! No complaints at all but a couple of comments for future guests:
The property is a few (easy) miles out of town so you will be driving in for dinner. Beds in the 2-bed rooms are doubles so while Xtra long in length, couples of generous sizes may find them a bit tight. Bring a flashlight for some great star-watching from out in the yard; it's REALLY dark when they turn off most exterior lights at night. If traveling with young folks you might want to bring a yard game or two. (Brad and Stacy, maybe have a few available for check-out?)
- Tara (10/5): Beautiful Vermont Getaway - The property was absolutely stunning and free homemade breakfast was wonderful. The owners and their dog were so friendly and we felt right at home. Room had dust in some spots like the wood nightstand in between the beds
- Nimish (10/5): - Beautiful view from the room!
- Debra (10/5): Great location, close to downtown Manchester, accommodated our late arrival after a day at the bluegrass festival, yummy - Squeaky clean, beautiful views of the mountains, inviting and feels like coming home Nothing
- Clare (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful property, great location.
- Martha (10/5): - The location afforded spectacular views and the property itself is located in a lovely area. Hosts were responsive, thoughtful, and delightful; made to order breakfasts were delicious. A comfortable, peaceful place to stay, with even a nice little pool for swimmers.
- Bruce (10/5): Great short getaway, will definitly return when we vist the area. - Beautiful setting, cottage style set up, inn keepers were wonderful, rooms are exceptionally clean, wonderful homemade breakfast each morning.
- Matthew (10/5): - Great stay — super clean, friendly staff, and only about 8 minutes (at worst!) out of Manchester itself.
Rooms have a bit of an 80's vibe but are very clean; beds are comfy; shower is good. Lots of light as the room opens up onto the larger property.
Would definitely stay again!
- Hueglin (9/5): Wonderful -
- Frederick (10/5): Great for a getaway! - The owners are very friendly and the grounds and rooms were clean and well taken care of. Each room has it's own patio and a great view.
The pool was clean and in good shape. The breakfast was great. Aside from the continental breakfast (basic bagel/toast, coffee) we had a choice of two cooked options every morning and both options were great. Everything was great. I can't think of any negatives.
- Bryson (10/5): Exceptional -
- Emelie (10/5): Wonderful and relaxing stay with beautiful views! - The owners were so kind and helpful! Room was lovely and clean. Breakfast in the morning was delicious.
- Thomas (9/5): Excellent. Will book with them again when Im in the area. - Nice quiet area overlooking the mountains. Great friendly proactive couple running the lodge. Homemade breakfasts were a huge plus. Lodge is constructed of individual adjoining one-room cabins which was great and added to the privacy and quietness. Manchester is a great historic town with some very good restaurants. Only 15 minute drive or so to Bromley Mtn., 30 to Stratton - all mainly via uncrowded local roadways. It shouldn't matter at all but I would have liked to have bedside outlets to recharge electronics while still using them in bed - there were outlets just a couple feet outside that reach. Not a big deal.
- Seon (10/5): We had a wonderful stay and plan to stay again in the future! - Location, property layout, welcoming host and dog, views, room decor. Property had everything on our checklist.
- Wojciech (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rebecca (10/5): Exceptional -
- Krista (10/5): - Welcomed by friendly owner. Good options for bfast. Clean, quiet and near from ski resorts.
- Vincent (10/5): Awesome place to stay. - Very clean, well maintained. Cool that every room has unique theme.
- William (10/5): Exceptional - I left early (6:30am) so I did not check out the breakfast which started at 7:30/8am
- maciej (10/5): - Beautifull,very tastefuly decorated lodge,exellent breakfast,friendly and very helpfull owners
Great choice for a weekend or weeks long lodging
Sincerely
Salamon Family
- Melissa (10/5): Peaceful, quiet and enjoyable. - The location was perfect, close to downtown Manchester. The property grounds and he view where beautiful and peaceful.
- Berry (10/5): Exceptional - Convenient to Manchester shops and local ski and hiking mountains. Friendly hosts with clean rooms and home-made breakfast. Free DVD movies and nice selection of beers and wines.
- Ben (6/5): Great little village, compromised only by our election of lodging. - Modest menu and offering for breakfast. Crowded venue and hurried service at breakfast. Not at all the feel of a country inn more Motel 6. Directive notes round and about (don't take the cups to your room, no pets aloud as their delightful little dog begged from all. He, the dog, was infinitely more friendly than the manager --though the wife was quite amiable--) Property owners have the right (and need) to set the rules, my observation concerns the tone not the content of the directives. See above. October is high season, granted. Places are busy...this to be expected bye the traveler. And yet as we checked into the Red Lion for our next stay--a facility many times larger and busier, it felt like we were arriving at home for the holidays. From the welcome at the main desk to the maid who cleaned or room, there was a welcoming warmth absent from North Shire...whererush and rules defined.
- Ken (9/5): Relaxing and peaceful! Our hosts were friendly and welcoming! - Tasty and served with a smile! We enjoyed Otis - he was friendly and sweet! We couldn't find our Patriots game! It said it was on but really a Rodeo was on. Not a complaint really just disappointed.
- Eileen (10/5): - Great folks, easy stay, clean.
- Diann (10/5): - We found the North Shire Lodge convenient to the town and surrounding attractions. The view of the mountains from our back deck was amazing. Cleanliness of the room was top notch. The owners were friendly and attentive to any needs. We had the option of a "grab and go" or a hot breakfast served in the dining area, which by the way was excellent!
- B (10/5): Had a great stay at the lodge. Felt like home The owners are very nice people and make you feel at home especially the - Great location right near the wedding venue we were attending. Beautiful peaceful views Very relaxing to sit out back
Our room was perfect for two I had a great quiet night sleep.
- Chasity (10/5): - The owners were very friendly. The room was clean and perfect for our needs. The town of Manchester is quaint and beautiful with an amazing book store and Pinball Museum for the kid in you!

- Amit (10/5): Awesome Location and Stay - Excellent Location, close to downtown Manchester.Every room has a gorgepus view.
The owners are very welcoming and take great care of each and every guest. Feels more like a family. Definitely recommend and will come again. Only downside I feel is the proximty to the road where in sometimes summer traffic can be noisy.
- Susan (9/5): We enjoyed the quiet and comfortable room. - Comfortable room. Beautiful view of the mountains. Owners very friendly. Good breakfast. Convenient to downtown Manchester. Can’t think of anything!
- Alyson (10/5): - North Shire Lodge was perfect for a ski weekend in VT. The room was clean and comfy with a great view of the mountains. The hosts were fantastic! Very kind and welcoming. Also the include breakfast was a great perk! Not many places do a hot breakfast cooked just for you included. Made our stay in VT extra special. We will definitely be back!
- Jason (10/5): Excellent great lodge ! - Breakfast choice was excellent
I’m English and the scones were exceptional!!!
Extremely comfortable bed
Great location
Lovely friendly hosts we will return !!
- Tatyana (10/5): - Very well maintained neat little bed-&-breakfast in VT woods. Close to Stratton. The hosts are very accommodating and eager to answer questions and help out. Even in VT winter, the driveway is well-lit and kept driveable (come in AWD with winter tires, anyway, you'd need those in the area).
- Shutong (10/5): Exceptional -
- Caitlin (10/5): - We really enjoyed our stay! Very cozy with a lovely view. The room itself I guess could use some updating in the near future, but we aren't too picky. Thanks so much!
- Teresa (10/5): Exceptional - The Northshire Lodge felt like a home away from home. The room was so clean and comfortable with a beautiful view and breakfast was delicious!
Brad and Stacy are the nicest people and made us feel so welcome. A bonus was Otis, their sweet dog - Our daughter made a friend! Thanks for everything- We hope to be back again!
- melissa (10/5): - We loved the North Shire Lodge. Family run, quiet, really great and clean, and well located for skiing, hiking. We would definitely recommend and stay again!
- Denem (9/5): Everything was lovely and I would definitely stay there again. - I really enjoyed the view and the rooms were great. The owners were very friendly and talked with us. I also liked that they had microwave and fridge in the rooms. We arrived on Christmas and nothing was open to eat. We brought leftovers and was able to eat in the room. I would have liked to be able to sit by the fire place in the evening. I understand there are new owners and the fireplace was located in the "Pub" which is now used for breakfast. With the view that would have been an extra bonus.
- Lisa (8/5): Fabulous comfortable hidden gem. Highly recommend it. - we have stayed here before. The property is immaculate and just very cozy. I think they need to upgrade the TVs to smart TVs and maybe some new beds.

- Robert (8/5): Very good -

- ERIC (10/5): - The room was charming and comfortable. It also had a good size fridge with a freezer, and a microwave. Plenty of towels meant we didn’t require daily maid service. And really loved the option for a hot breakfast for just $5/pp. There were 2 great choices each morning and these changed daily. Stacey and Brad, the owners, were so nice and very helpful. We absolutely will return the next time we’re in the Manchester area.
- Katy (10/5): quaint, peaceful, welcoming stay - clean, quiet, friendly, beautiful view from every room, continental or hot breakfast option, warm and friendly staff. my only issue was my gps didn’t find it, and my cell phone reception wouldn’t let me look up the exact address, so I had to stop and ask someone. but it all worked out!
