Guest Reviews
- Isabel (10/5): - Excellent place to stay..
I’ll be back .
- FERNANDO (10/5): - Para su precio esta muy bien
- Leopoldo (8/5): - Estuvo bien…. Las camas un poco duras
- Jeshaiah (10/5): - It was a great deal and pretty nice place
- LUIS (8/5): - Yes
- geoffrey (10/5): - My plans fell through this trip. Past experience in 2018 pre-pandemic was good
- Gary (10/5): - The staff is polite and professional. The breakfast is good. The room was clean. The only knock I have is it is across the street from an industrial park, and the beep beep beep of trucks backing up can be an annoyance. Not a big deal.
sitio centrico y seguro.
- Jon (10/5): - excellent staff and great food, gracias dios
- Carlos (8/5): - Aseo, comodidad y servicios deficientes.
- araceli (2/5): - I did not feel safe here and the staff and Expedia are little to no help at all.
- Natalia (2/5): DO NOT STAY HERE - Worst hotel ever, needs an upgrade ASAP, checking lady made me pay extra money even I explained to her that I was a tourist she requested all kind of documentation, very rude, we were driving for 6 hours to get to this hotel and then this lady”s attitude. The hotel is old and the rooms nothing comfortable. I didn’t stay, I left next day, I rather to pay a little bit more for a better place. DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE.
- Andres (8/5): - The hot tubs at the highest floor were nice, the bar did a effort to accept credit card
- tony (2/5): Dont stsy here lots other choices in area - Stay away booked through hotels paid in full when arrived they wanted more money it was late so I had to pay . Parking is not provided like their listing states its free parking only. They assigned me the cheaper room even though I booked the supior double . The toilet clogged every time you used it . Bed was very hard and music was blaring from a nearby club all day and night and the windows were open and we could not close them overall one of my worst experiences in a hotel.
- Julio (8/5): My stay at Central Plaza - It was a good experience in a good location, with a good price, and a nice service.
- Reimer (10/5): - The hotel was very clean and the staff was great. Will be returning.
- jose (10/5): - La comida
- angel (10/5): - Good customer service and cleanliness
- Verified traveler (4/5): Housekeepers are noisy - The house keepers are noisy... They sing and make noise all day. Hard to sleep.
- Ricardo (10/5): - Excelente ubicación muy limpio
- Ricardo (10/5): - Muy buena
- Billy (6/5): Housekeepers - Love the place, but the housekeepers need help. I just don't understand them.. you could be gone for 2 hrs and they decide to clean right when you arrive... I walked into a room with puddles of water. And now we have roaches.
- Ricardo (10/5): - Loby muy pequeño
- Cory (2/5): - This stay was terrible for several reasons. Our room was on the 4th floor and when we got off the elevator the hallway was dark. It did not make me feel safe or welcome.
When we got into the room it was dark and we couldn't turn the lights on. We went back down to the front desk, who sent someone up with us to show us that you have to put the room key in a slot by the door to keep the lights on (why would anyone design it this way?). They gave us a different room, which smelled like mildew and there were mildew spots on the walls, which were an unpleasant shade of white under the lights.
The shower had some strange issue with the pipes where the water came out in either a weak spray or a pulsing jet that was unpleasant. The shower head was not adjustable and appeared to have a piece missing.
The bed was the worst part. There were HAIRS on bedding when I pulled back the sheet. They were dry, but I still not sure if these were washed. They were also stained with sweat. We slept in our clothes last night and I would NEVER return to this hotel.
- Jose oswaldo (2/5): - G
- John (10/5): Water pressure hot water - Excellent place with great water pressure and hot water
- Juan (10/5): - Sin comentarios Todo excelente
- Verified traveler (4/5): Anywhere but here! - The room was very small and also very smelly from unclean walls, likely serious mold issue. . Walking in room was a chore to deal with odor. Front desk is not helpful and will not show much effort. Better hotels for less around this block. This area is far from family freindly. Lots of people standing outside all night on walls. 10 dollars a night is too much for unclean room and bad service. I would never book again. I suggest looking at alternatives. I did notice a room being painted so possible my room was just old and outdated. But all rooms are tiny.
- Gissela (8/5): - Tranquilo
- Norma I (6/5): - Falta de agua caliente.
- Francisco (10/5): - Great place at great price
- Ted (2/5): - My reservation included free breakfast, but the hotel would not honor the reservation and demanded 48,000 pesos.
- Joseph (10/5): - Good enough..
- Benito (8/5): Nice trip - It was good
- Rafael (8/5): - The hotel is ok for the price. It's an inexpensive hotel in a residential area. It has a restaurant that's open early until late. It has no refrigerator and no microwave. It has a small safety box, tv with cable ( Spanish), and air conditioning.
One problem that I encountered was the shower that has too much pressure. When washing my hair, the room got flooded. I called the hotel and they sent a person to clean it. She did a bad job removing the water out of my room.
Overall, the hotel is ok for the price. You also get free Wi-Fi.
- Maliente (8/5): - The hotel rate is OK and very affordable. Great WIFI. THREE star quality
- Jason (10/5): A reliable budget place - I've stayed here now 3 times when I've needed to come to Medellin, and it remains a good budget choice. While it isn't the most comfortable place in the city (some bathrooms are a really tight fit, and the city view rooms are noisy from road traffic) I consider it good for the price even paying a few dollars more for a room with aircon. The staff also has always accommodated my request for a few extra pillows, and the front reception, night bellman and other staff you encounter throughout the hotel are all polite and professional. So no it's not a 5-star, but it's good value for a low price.
- Jason (8/5): Good choice for the price - I've stayed here on two separate occasions and during both visits, every staff member I came into contact with polite, courteous and professional, and in a few cases, demonstrably eager to be accommodating. Such good customer service makes me comfortable to say here again.
But although this hotel is very competitive on pricing when it comes to their cheapest rooms, those rooms don't have air conditioning, which often isn't needed in Medellin, though sometimes using aircon enhances comfort on the hotter days. And at this hotel, you have to pay a few dollars more to get it (roughly $4-6), which I did y 2nd stay, and when you do that, some other hotels become very competitive to this one, with newer rooms and a few more features, eg desk and chair.
So at the price point for the aircon rooms, I'm certainly willing to stay at Central Plaza again especially considering the excellent customer service and overall good value, but I'm looking elsewhere on my upcoming trip to see what else is available that I might like more.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - A great hotel close to everything one would need. The employees do an excellent job of keeping you happy.I will definitely return.
- erdwina (10/5): - Location of hotel was good for us, and taxi’s are readily available at front. A lil noisy at times, but is bearable. Staff is very friendly and clean towels and rooms are cleaned daily, new toiletries daily.
Rooms are simple with all necessities. Restaurant on site. Option of breakfast included. This is our 3rd year and 4th time staying at this hotel. It’s cost effective and great service! We’ll definitely stay here again!
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Terrible customer service. Check-in was OK, there was no available parking, had to double-park on the street.
- Joe (10/5): In the center of everything! - Staff were great, could use a few English speaking clerks due to the popularity of the hotel
- james1577 (2/5): Cheap but there is better! - I rented a room on 13th to 16th. For two people. One night bringing my girlfriend up. I was charged 12000pas. I found that stranger my girlfriend told me one woman told her the night before I had two woman in my room. That was a dam lie. I want to the desk and told the woman what happened the next day I said look at the camera no one came to my room the night before. I hate scammer. I'll never book there again. Screw Americans. It's all about a dollar.
- Marcio (6/5): - I couldn't sleep at first night.
My room was in front of a distribution center where loud trucks and people was in an out all night.
Ive asked to change room on next day and they did without argue.
- Fernando espino (4/5): Very disappointed - Very very small room, no windows at all. An profesional staff. My luggage was taking off my room with out my autorización.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice Hotel - The Hotel is well located and close to the metro station.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Continues to be one of my favorite places... - I had not stayed here in some time and I was happy the hotel is still an excellent choice for me. I know the area and enjoy the market across the street. Metro is close by and small business for working class people are all within walking distance. It’s not in a tourist area but if you want to be immersed in the local flavor I think it puts you there.
- Johnny (10/5): - Had a good experience with the front clerk and the waitress at the restaurant.
- Walter (4/5): Inconvenient Location to night life - Room and bathroom were extremely small. Left a day earlier. Receptionist agreed to provide me with a refund for the night I would not stay. When I checked out, the same receptionist said I did not qualify for a refund because I had paid with a credit card. Did not want to argue so I simply left.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Noisy hotel - The first night I stayed there was a Friday night, and there were some local Colombians who had rented some rooms and were partying way into the night. The hotel’s clientele seemed a bit sketchy overall. The rooms are small and you can hear everything. There was also construction going on outside. Housekeeping didnt come for the 3 night I stayed. Inexpensive hotel if you’re on a budget its fine. Location is good, 10 min walk from the metro.
- damahneee (10/5): Awesome - Forget el ploblado for a true colombia culture come to itagui everything is here they dont tell you about how beautiful the area is this hotel was built in 2010.....its nice
- Max (6/5): Nice stay if going on a budget - Nice stay if going on a budget, but if you are staying in Medellin with plans to visit sites, Poblado etc. it might end up cheaper looking for a hotel in other areas and pay 20% more.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Hotel Going Downhill!!! - The beds are too hard, you wake up with a back ache. The bar used to be agtreat place until Juan left. Now is a mess with bad service and the Jacuuzis are always cold and dirty. Hotel needs new management, people who care about their guests.
- Hanz (8/5): Did the job - Decent, low cost hotel in Itagüi. Well located and clean.
- lax (8/5): Nice and Quiet - Great hotel great staff
Bellboy ready to help with all your inquiries and needs
Front desk agent Maria Eugenia and Lorena always with a smile.
Will definitely stay at this hotel on my next visit.
Restaurant staff with a great service.
- totomau (8/5): Great value - Very impressed at the value you get but there are few things to keep in mind. It could cost you more of you want A/C. The other option is fans, yes that's correct fans. But you wouldn't know it by the looks. The area is not the best to take a stroll, in fact , you may want to just ask for a taxi to various points of interest. The restaurant within the hotel is rather nice and well serviced. The rooms give an impression of luxury but they are simple and clean. Some rooms do not face outside with windows but face inward towards the hall. This can be a bit uncomfortable if you take the fan option as it is hot in the area. Not sure if I would return , but if I need a place to stop for a one night then it may suffice considering the value.
- DH (10/5): Good Value - Out of the way a little, behind the farmers market...but good basic hotel...the room is basic, and they do keep it clean. The room and sheets replaced everyday neatly...the toilet and sink are tight, but the shower is roomy. I'm 6'5 and had plenty of room. Fan in the room was fine...some say outside has too much noise... I stayed on a Saturday night, 3rd floor street side, I didn't experience anything other than basic street noise....it didn't bother me. The front desk doesn't speak English but they are nice. I would definitely stay again
- Verified traveler (6/5): Not bad - They have a nice roof top bar opens at 3pm I stayed on the street side very noisy next to shipping trucks come in at 3am honking horns and yelling at each other single pain windows so if you stay ask to stay on other side
- Edgardo (8/5): Excellent location - Close to Ayura Metro Train station, check in process good, friendly staff, rooms with double bed have outside windows, but it noisy early in the morning due to Central Mayorista trucks arriving. I moved to a back room with no outside windows, quieter but beds a little hard.
Front desk staff very caring, they lend me an umbrella for a day.
Restaurant prices a little above the area. I found better food and prices around the corner.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Cheap accomodation - I had surgery and needed cheap accomodation....Bed was harder than rocks, had to sleep on two blankets...Meals served at the onsite restaurant was very disappoointing...took uber to El Poblado area for better tasting food..Rooftop terrace was a breath of fresh air...Overall can't beat the price..
- Ric24 (6/5): Inexpensive and no-frills - I stayed 3 days at this hotet. It was clean and inexpensive and that sums it up.
No frills, no shampoo and cream as in other hotels, no hangers. No outside windows to get fresh air. The fact that when you left the room and took your room card out of the slot, it shut off all power including the fan in the room was an issue in having stale air when you returned.
The area was pretty safe but not much in the area to visit. The staff however were very friendly.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice hotel and staff, awful location and tiny room - The staff was so polite and helpful, very nice people. The problem with the hotel is the location, very poor neighborhood and dirty streets. The room was so tiny but clean.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Clean and friendly staff - Convenient and easy to access. Close to main roads and restaurants.
- 772micahg (6/5): Clean & Cheap - Overall this is a decent hotel next to the farmers markets (warehouse district). A few notes the hotel does't allow you to borrow an iron , you must pay get your clothes ironed by them. The rooms are really small and the bed are full size; there are no refrigerators in the room and they only provide two big towels no small ones. No windows in our room so it felt like a prison at times.
- Verified traveler (10/5): No English! - Overall everything OK but front staff speaks no english and not very accomodating.
- Martin (8/5): No employees spoke any English during my stay - The area is a bit sketchy but not dangerous and there is local bars and food options close by.
The only disappointing aspect of the hotel was the wifi which was slower and less reliable than an old dial-up style connection
- Gregory (8/5): Good Stay. - Really nice, modern hotel. Terrific staff, nice television, shared balcony, busy location near a lot of food & drink. Pricer than I thought it would be for a smaller city but good value. I would go back. WiFi was a bit sketchy but the staff, particularly a young employee named Mateu, played w/ it until it worked.
- JoJo (6/5): great price, small space, no AC - it was a bit warm in Medellin and havung thought that every hotel niw a day has AC its a was a bit too warm to sleep comfortable, the rooms were very small, but ok for a quick stay.
- Hemipoweredcats (10/5): Unbelievable Value - I was looking for an inexpensive place to stay and was incredibly surprised. This hotel is well run, amazing staff, great bar on the roof with two hot tubs. The rooms are well equipped and comfortable. Worth twice the money, do not hesitate to stay here.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Highly Recommend - Excellent for price and comfort! Location is great, lots of places to eat out and Drink
- Verified traveler (10/5): The best value I ever had in hotels - It was a low season (I would imagine) because an the flier in the hotel it says "rooms start at $60 a night" and mine was $17. They probably weren't filled and were giving promotional price. However, there was a slight noise issue in the hallway and considerable noise from the street that would come once every hour or so for a few minutes and disappear (people gathering outside and talk or cars revving engines), but nothing terrible. Staff don't speak english, but if you can say a word or two in Spanish, they will go to faraway places to meet your needs.
- Musa (8/5): Don´s Review - No air cond only a fan, Attempted to charge me for using the comp, They did charge me the 1st time Still waiting for my free days even through I have requested them 3 times.
- D (10/5): - Not fancy, but clean, friendly, and an amazing value for the money. Would not hesitate to stay there again.
- Lee (8/5): Decent budget hotel in sketchy area - This hotel offers small rooms with a functional safe, bed, shower, and small tables. There is no heat or AC. The hotel has an acceptable and affordable restaurant attached. The staff are attentive but do not speak English at all.
The hotel is in Itagui, not Medellin, and thus is not conveniently located to the nicer touristy things of the city. Instead, the hotel is located a couple blocks from a sketchy area where many working girls hang out during the night.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The room was really small, the gym was no gym at all just 3 or 4 machines close until 3 p.m.
No hair dryer.
- southerner (8/5): Hotel next to mayorista farmers market - Hotel is in a safe, lower working class neighborhood of itagui. Hotel is next to the mayorista farmers market. My room was cleaned daily and staff were very attentive to my needs. You can ask the reception to resolve anytime and they gladly help. You can pay 20k pesos for a key lock to the built in safe. There are several atms guarded by guards available in the market. I had a room with an electric fan which cooled it down for me. (It may not be for every one and some rooms I think do have ac if you upgrade). You can usually find a taxi waiting there or at next door hotels or hail one. Hotel has a working elevator which was convenient; constant hot water. Free wifi. Overall had no problems. If your looking for a posh 5 star hotel and neighborhood, this may not be for you. Overall I can't complain and had a good stay.
- Obiwonhorny (6/5): Basic Hotel for single guys in poor neighborhood - I had pleasent experience at this hotel. It is right across from the biggest produce market in Medellin. Even though it is in a poor neighborhood it is safe and clean. For single guys there is myorista stip 2 minutes from the hotel with girls hanging outside quickie hotels and many bars everything is on sale. Best restaurant is at the end of stip-ladies wearing all white with head covers and cooking in big pots and many people eating all day. Very good and very cheap Enjoy. I did
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great - I would return. The problem was there was construction going on near my room during my stay. I could smell paint and sounds could be heard. However this hotel is very good bargain for the price. It is across from the warehouse mayorista area.
- Alfonso (10/5): my family was happy and happy about everything - only for business and family meeting
- DiveGodUk (6/5): Clean, cheap, friendly... - I spent one night here in January. It was a nice, clean, fairly modern hotel in an out-of-the-way location. Prices were very good, especially compared to El Poblado across the river.
The room was small, with no air conditioning, and a window facing onto the corridor. But it was quiet and fairly comfy. The restaurant was OK, but the menu was a little disappointing. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, but surprisingly for a hotel with this many stars, nobody spoke a word of English. This provided an excellent opportunity to practice my Spanish, but at that time my Spanish was pretty awful - I'd only been there a week! So I occasionally struggled to make myself understood.
But overall - quite good.
- 965felixr (10/5): Great hotel for the money - Try to get a room with a\c. I stayed thire 3 times. The area its not that good but taxis are allways at the door. The same hotel in other part of city will cost about twice as much. Will always recommend
- Bobby (8/5): - Hotel was a newer hotel that was good value for the money. Though staff did not speak English
well we were still able to communicate. Is across road from large market so early am there is some truck noise. In the market area are several large grocery stores. Several blocks down is area of bars and working girls. Metro is about 1/2 mile away. I walked around area at night from metro and never felt threaten. Will stay here again. No a/c but sleep good using wall fan in room
- Fernando (8/5): Good Hotel for the price - When we booked the hotel, it did not say that hotel did not have AC. Only one floor of hotel had AC.
The price was good.
- omar (10/5): Very good - My experience in hotel was very good
and every one was very nice and Cain
I will recommend this hotel
- Verified traveler (2/5): Not suitable for most business travelers - The room was noisy and the bed small. Also, the Internet did not extend to rooms as advertised. One has to go in the hallway to get a signal.
