- Thomas (10/5): Das mit Abstand beste Hotel/Restaurant was wir bisher in dieser Gegend gefunden haben. - Der Birkenhof übertrifft alles was wir in dieser Gegend kennen. Es ist ruhig, die Luft ist gut. Das Hotel bietet alles was wir uns bei diesem Preis wünsche. Die Speisen im Restaurant waren alle hervorragend und übertrafen alles was wir bisher in näherer Umgebung gegessen haben. Dies war unser zweiter Aufenthalt und bestimmt nicht der letzte.

- Koen (9/5): Ik was op doorreis , maar zou hier wel langer willen verblijven ... - De locatie is zeer goed - niet alleen voor doorreis - men kan het hotel ook als uitvalsbasis gebruiken voor heel wat activiteiten. - Sandra (9/5): - Schön gelegenes, familiäres Hotel für Wanderungen und Entspannung. Keine Parkplatzsuche nötig, da es ausreichend Kapazitäten vor dem Haus gibt. Wir wurden sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend empfangen, trotz Ruhetag und eingeschränktem Personal am Mittwoch. Die Zimmer sind gut ausgestattet. Es gibt einen Wasserkocher, Tee und Kaffee. Bademantel, Handtücher für den Wellnessbereich und ein Wanderrucksack stehen auf dem Zimmer bereit. Die erste Befüllung der Minibar ist kostenlos. Betten und Kopfkissen sind sehr bequem, das Badezimmer ist modern und mit Föhn und Schminkspiegel ausgestattet. Da ich kein wirklicher Frühstücker bin, fand ich das Buffet mehr als ausreichend. Unterschiedliche Brötchen und Brot, Croissants und Müsli, Joghurt, Frischkäse, Rührei, unterschiedliche Fruchtsäfte und vieles mehr. Für das Abendessen haben wir schon im Voraus reserviert. Die Speisekarte ist nicht zu überfüllt und für alle Vorlieben ist etwas dabei. Es ist etwas teurer aber das Essen ist es auch wert. Liebevoll und appetitlich angerichtet und wirklich sehr lecker. Das Personal ist überaus aufmerksam und freundlich. Der Hotelbesitzer ist sehr präsent. Es herrscht dort eine sehr familiäre Atmosphäre. Am Nebentisch haben wir mitbekommen, dass beim Frühstück auf Sonderwünsche, wegen Nahrungsmittelunverträglichkeiten, sofort eingegangen wurde. Sauna wurde auf Anfrage und Wunsch eingeschaltet. Wenn man kein Abendessen dort gebucht hat, braucht man ein Auto um in nähergelegene Restaurants zu kommen. Wanderungen konnten direkt vom Hotel aus gestartet werden und waren ab da auch sehr gut ausgeschildert inklusive einer hauseigenen Jogging/ Nordic Walking Route. Im Hotel gibt es einen Wellness Bereich ,der modern und zum Wohlfühlen eingerichtet ist, mit einem separatem kleinem Außenbereich, einer finnischen, einer Biosauna und einem Ruheraum mit 4 Liegen. Die Massagen bei Frau Hachmer sind sehr zu empfehlen und waren für uns der krönende Abschluss für unseren Kurzurlaub. Sehr hellhörige Zimmer, vor allem, wenn man ein frischverliebtes Pärchen nebenan hat.

Gaumen Freude. - Top: Frühstück, Service & Sauberkeit, Lage & Umgebung, Hilfsbereitschaft des ganzen Teams, Tier-und Kinderfreundliches Haus, leckeres Restaurant mit tollem Spielplatz, Zimmer als solches in Ausstattung, Balkon etc. Preis-Leistung Kleinkind (unter 2 Jahren). Fürs Kleinkind ist der Preis vergleichsweise hoch mit 50 Euro zwei Nächte Kleinkind-Zustellbettzuschlag, wenn das Zustellbett wie in unserem Fall ein einfaches Klapp-Reisebett mit dünner Einlegematratze ist. Die bereitgestellte Kinderdecke muss unter die Einlegematratze gelegt werden, damit die Bettstangen nicht durchdrückt. Hier wäre unsere Empfehlung an das Team in eine echte Kinderbettmatratze zu investieren. Damit wären die Kleinkindkosten verständlich. Deshalb den kleinen Abzug in Preis-Leistung, wenn auch aus Erwachsenen-Sicht bei Hotelaufenthalt ohne Familie mit kleinen Kindern wir bestimmt den Preis-Leistungsbutton mit "gut" bewertet hätten. Das Hotel als solches ist definitiv zu empfehlen und werden wir auch weiterempfehlen.

- Fred (10/5): Prima verblijf op mooie locatie. - Rustig en landelijk gelegen mooie accommodatie. Niet direct aan de snelweg A61, maar erg ver omrijden is het niet. Goede service en vriendelijke personeel. De autoweg aan de voorkant is best druk, deze kan gehorig zijn, wij logeerden aan de achterzijde, daardoor hadden we er sowieso geen hinder van.

As we noticed this we ordered food in advance, which was great! However, it would be nice if the restaurant would allow orders till about 21:00!

It’s not necessarily a dislike, but something to be prepared for: outside breakfast & dinner, only snacks (crisps & chocolate bars) & drinks are available on a self service basis.
- Elizabeth (9/5): We’ve been back 3 times! - This is a very comfortable hotel in a country location which we’ve been back to three times. The bedrooms are well furnished with quality furnishings, a very comfortable bed and great pillows! The bathroom, though not large, was neatly fitted with a very efficient shower which had plenty of hot water. Our room had a smal terrace looking out over a pretty patch of grass and trees. It was very peaceful. The restaurant is very popular (so book ahead!) with a good international menu and wine pairings are possible if one is not familiar German wines . They have an outside terrace for warmer weather looking over a meadow with a small children’s play area to one side A good breakfast is available. There’s plenty of parking on site.

Booked hotel as I wanted somewhere with sauna etc. On arrival told I had to let them know to turn sauna on....therefore insufficient time before dinner. Evening staff apologetic and said no problem for the morning. Morning staff said I couldn't use due to cleaning...no one was cleaning the area and hadn't by the time I checked out. Receptionist in the morning was unhelpful and miserable. It was the last day of my holiday and I had wanted something a bit special...I didn't get it.

Great restaurant for dinner & the staff were very helpful. The room was modern, as was the bathroom & the sauna was very good. Plenty of space for parking on site. I think this hotel is one of a chain of hotels & I would stay at the others based on this experience The room was quite hot overnight & we did not realise until the morning that the radiator had been on, but that was our oversight
- Michael (8/5): - Mitten im Hunsrück gelegen bietet die Unterkunft einen guten Startpunkt für Ausflüge an der Nahe und der Mosel. Die Möbel, zumindest in unserem Zimmer, waren schon recht alt (unmodern) aber gut in Schuss und zweckmäßig. Die Badezimmertür ist als Glassschiebetür ausgeführt und verheimlicht nichts. Ein Wanderrucksack steht im Zimmer für spontane Wanderslust zur Verfügung. Der Saunabereich ist modern angelegt (ich habe nur einen kurzen Blick hinein geworfen). Das Frühstücksbuffet hatte eine schöne Auswahl, war appetitlich angerichtet und alles hat sehr gut geschmeckt. Das Abendessen im Hotel war sehr lecker und auf einem gehobenen Standard. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend.

The restaurant was excellent, with delicious food and friendly and knowledgeable staff. Most of all we enjoyed the sauna area. We recommend the hiking trail (Traumschleife Kingelfloß, 8km/2 hours) that begins and ends at the hotel.

- Eline (9/5): Nice hotel in the center of Mosel region, authentic with modern touch. - I liked the location of the hotel, easy accesible but at the same time in the middle of the fields and not too far from the touristic villages and the Mosel river. I was a little dissapointed in the restaurant. The asperges where not enough cooked and the second time my steak was well done rather than medium. Otherwise lovely decor, nice wines. I did love the salad with goat cheese and honey.
- Leonie (10/5): - Sehr schöne und gepflegte Unterkunft. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Das Restaurant gehobene Küche und auch geeignete Speisen für Kinder. Frühstück vollkommen ausreichend. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

- Ingo (6/5): - Das Zimmer hat keine Kaffeemaschine oder Wasserkocher – was zu einem vier Sterne Hotel dazugehört! Das Zimmer war auch keine 30 Quadratmeter groß, sondern knapp 23m². Es sei denn der Balkon wurde dazu gerechnet – was normalerweise auch nicht der Fall ist. Des weiteren kam eine Energiepauschale auf die Rechnung, diese war bei der Buchung nicht bekannt gegeben worden. Hervorzuheben ist, dass die Erstauffüllung der Minibar mit in dem Preis drinne war. Ansonsten Unterkunft und Hotel sehr sauber – Personal sehr freundlich.
- Jean-luc (7/5): Good Hotel-Restaurant - The hotel is well located in a nice region, the staff was very friendly and available to answer despite some communication problem in english but the boss was also present to answer the questions, the Restaurant offers very good food, and possible to have sauna, ... Ratio price/quality quite good. The hotel is a little bit old fashion style but despite this it offers all the necessary commidities and servies to have a good stay........

- Preben (10/5): Seks nætter på fantastisk landhotel. - Et fremragende ophold. Stedet er fredfyldt personalet er fantastisk restauranten serverer fremragende mad. Særligt skal fremhæves servicen i restauranten. De forstår udover en særdeles professionel opførsel at gøre betjeningen personlig uden st virke anmassende. Alt i alt et ophold som fortjener topkarakter. En tidligere noget dårligere anmeldelse vedrørte et hotel på hjemvejen. Det havde overskriften “Stop over” se venligst birthday fra den.

- Renee (9/5): Would come again! - The breakfast was lovely, the eggs were amazing. Dinner was also really good and the staff was lovely! The room was spacious with a lovely balcony and a great view. Also really liked the option to close the shutters so it was nicely dark in the room. I had the pleasure of having the sauna all by myself the one time I got to use it (my own fault completely, didn't check the time!) and it was very clean and lovely. There are very nice hicking trails nearby and about 6 min (by car) there is a big super market. Would come again in a heartbeat! The room was a bit noisy. I could hear the, I guess, upper neighbours walking with wet feet as if they were walking in my room. Sadly got a one person bed instead of a double bed, it was comfy but not what I am used to so I slept quite poorly thanks to that and the noisy neighbours.

- Christine (8/5): Direkte Wandermöglichkeiten vom Haus aus - Das ansprechende Zimmer war leider etwas hellhörig zur Straße hin gelegen und auch vom Flur her eher nicht sehr ruhig. Dafür war das Restaurant ausgezeichnet.

- Jasmin (10/5): Tolles modernes Hotel mit Kultur - Das Hotel ist wirklich ganz toll. Der Service ist makellos von der Freundlichkeit des Personals (vor allem der Hotelchef) bishin zu den Zimmer sowie das Frühstück! 5 von 5 Sterne, absolut verdient und weiterempfehlenswert.
