Guest Reviews
- Marcus (10/5): Hidden Gem - I’ve stayed at a few different properties when travelling to Penticton and this is definitely one of the better ones out there! The rooms are spacious and well equipped for a short of longer week stay. Feels more like home than being in a hotel. Staff and manager are great. Great location. Nothing
- Lorna (10/5): Great place to stay!! - Very clean and well kept ! Nothing
- Gary (10/5): Wonderful - Clean beautiful courtyard, huge lot, old but nice looking buildings. Check in process very easy and fast. Extra coffee next time
- Owen (10/5): Awesome place, great value. - Great value No paper towels i guess lol
- Peterson (10/5): -
- Liudmyla (1/5): I recommend looking for another hotel. - the location is convenient. The room has old mattresses and stained sheets. The towels are grayish-yellow. It's very audible. The dishes are mismatched. The furniture is old and worn. The room needs renovation. The hot water takes so long to heat up that you can forget about taking a shower. The room smells strongly of chemicals and air freshener, but not cleanliness. The manager isn't on site; you have to call to get the keys. I also called after leaving to say I left the keys in the mailbox, but they ended up charging me $15 for those keys.
- Judith (7/5): - This was an older hotel which had been kept in good condition. Very friendly staff. All the facilities we could want and it was very clean, including the kitchen area. The price made it an excellent choice and I would stay again in We had asked for a 2 bedroom unit which we got but that came with issues we weren't thinking about.. The thermostat was in one room and that room was nice and warm but the register in the other room didn't seem to work so was quite cool. Keeping the door open helped but maybe someone should check the second baseboard heater. Also we didn't seem to have hot water. That could be due to being the farthest from the office where I assume the heater was located and few if anyone was in the units in between. You would have to run the water a very long time for warm water to reach usl. For a short stay it wasn't a real issue

- Feeley (3/5): It did not work for us - too far from the events we were attending. - Property in poor state. Baseboard falling off walls. No side table or lamp in one room. Hard to control the heat - either too hot or too cold As above. But the kitchen part was clean.
- Marcus (10/5): Great stay for Hockey club - Fast efficient check in time. This place has everything for a short or longer week stay. Booked my stay to watch my son play hockey Older place but honestly it had everything. If you like a fancy resort like stay book elsewhere otherwise this property is fantastic with great pricing.

- Marcus (10/5): - Loved the room perfect for a quick trip
Felt like home & Great location Building was old but cared for well
- Bernie (9/5): -
- Raul Rico (5/5): fair - thanks for the stay smell of the room
- Fritzie (10/5): Amazing stay! We’d definitely come back! Its year 6 for us coming to Penticton for the summer & I can confidently sa - Family friendly & simple, clean & it has all everything we want in an accomodation, spacious rooms, kitchentte & a big bathroom. We love that its one level with our car parked paralleled just a step away where its such a breeze to have everything easily accesible. The location is close to everything! It has all what we’ve been wanting for, the pool, Bbq & picnic area. They even have the laundrette which we dont get to use but might be an important thing to mention. Paul was really helpful & got me what I’d ask for. My family enjoyed our stay. This place is definitely the perfect holiday home you’d always want to come back to! Thank you so much! We ran an errand late night one time & when we came back, one of the neighbors occupied some of our space that left us short with our parking. There are plenty of rooms to park, no problem, even the visitor’s parking is huge enough its just that with small kids, it will be accessible & easier for us to park our car outside our room. That’s the litte inconvenience we had experience but all has been sorted out.
- Kylie (9/5): I’ll be booking a longer stay next time - I was here for a climbing trip and meeting few friends in town. I was referred to book here from a friend of mine who stayed at the apple tree last year. Everything was amazing just the way i was told. I had a smooth and quick check in, my room had everything I needed for my quick stay. Customer service from Paul was great he understood my needs and even offered some good suggestions next time I’m in town. I will book back longer trip next time I visit Penticton. Thank you again Paul. Good location.
Not 5 star hotel, but it exceeded my expectations.
Slightly noisy as it’s on a busy street.
- Jarod (10/5): Clean and good value. - My stay went great! Nothing during my stay.
- Dragan (9/5): -
- Stephen (5/5): -
- Jackie (10/5): Good value - Clean
- Aurelien (10/5): -
- Mitch (10/5): Very good - Very clean, functional room, great mattress and pillows. The lot and property was massive. Lots of space for parking
- Jim (10/5): Good time in Penticton - The room was clean with an efficient layout. Perfect for couple nights. Friendly faces the man that checked us in was great (owner?) will book again next time we come around
- Wade (1/5): A bit of a dump. We were shocked that this place rated an 8 - more like a 5 given the poor condition - Uncomfortable bed, old sheets, wallpaper and ceiling paper peeling, mold/mildew in bathroom, towel bars fell off. Not well maintained.
- Lizette (10/5): - Camas y el tamaño de la habitación
- Charlie (10/5): I’ll be back again - Very good and roomy
Pub next door
Great value
- Joan (8/5): - Clean ,nice pool ,really comfortable beds. Lots of blankets and pillows Kitchen chairs wiggly.,bathtub very slippery for older folks .
- Marcus (10/5): Relaxed with great value - Nice pool, nice people, nice staff. Amazing environment
Best part was the nature and reading my book under the old apple tree Staying at this property was exceptionally relaxing and I will definitely visit again next year.
- Sandra (8/5): Good value. The heated swimming pool is real plus. The courtyard is very pretty. - The room had everything I needed. The carpet was badly stained.
- James (2/5): Complete dump, do not stay here - Worst motel experience I have ever had. Room is disgusting. Smelled like someone urinated in the corner, second bed frame broken, human stains on comforter, hair on the sheets, bugs in the room, rug torn and grossly stained, snot wiped on the walls, drug paraphernalia found in room (hot knives), open face fans, no fire extinguisher, cigarette butt outs on the wall, trim broken and falling off everywhere. People open drug using outside the hotel. Dangerous area, not safe. Went to complain, no one around? Hotels dot com cant get ahold of them. Find the caretaker who is off for the night and register a complaint. We went to return keys and owner pretended not to be the owner and said oh thats too bad when i was registering a complaint. Offered to give a credit to stay there again instead of compensation? What a rip off. Stay here at your own peril. This place is a dump. After a search, apprently this is one of the locations used to house the homeless drug addicts that run rampant in penticton, and they just kick them out for long weekends so they can overcharge people travelling through. Despicable business practice. I honestly couldnt be more upset at how this impacted a trip, and their lack of doing anything.
- Audrey (4/5): - I had stayed at this property years ago and this recent stay showed decline in cleanliness and needs some very needed renovations.
- Chen (8/5): 不错 - 入住 卫生总体还可以提高一点
- Mandeep (10/5): Nice stay in Penticton - Thanks for everything Paul We enjoyed our stay here. Nice to see the deers resting under the tree in courtyard area
- Bruce (10/5): - Basic, clean, affordable & well stocked room.
Thanks Paul for an easy and convenient check in!
Nice and close to the airport and lakes.
Would definitely stay here again.
- Mike (10/5): Wish we stayed longer - Clean and cozy environment. My wife loved how laundry was on site. Owner was great during our stay Court yard and pool were the best, well looked after. Wish we stayed another few nights. Next time definitely!!!
- Rouslan (9/5): The hotel had everything needed for a short and even for a longer stay - Central location in the middle of Penticton. Close to Skaha and Okanagan lakes but a car was still needed It had all we needed for a one night stay
- Janet (4/5): Never again! - Great location Very dirty, not convince the bedding especially sheets were changed. Fingernail on bathroom vanity unchecking in. Wiped table and cloth was filthy. Bathroom door was very dirty, toilet roll hanger fell off, towel holder in kitchen missing screws. No toilet lid, very disappointing, as did not see how terrible it would be in the reviews.
- Tatiana (10/5): -
- Clucky (8/5): Great value for money if you just need somewhere quiet to lay your head. - Economical, easy check in, excellent staff, fantastic pool! Close to all the things I wanted for a one-night stop. Clean, quiet. Nothing fancy: just a good place to stop. It just needs sprucing up a little with some new paint, and perhaps modernizing the locks would be nice.
- Marinus (9/5): -
- Grace (6/5): - Close to amenities and pool was lovely No hot water. Dishes not washed properly
- Christopher (10/5): - Great pool. Rooms were decent and spacious. Easy walking to may options and shopping.
- Liz (10/5): Great value and clean - Clean comfortable beds & cold AC. The courtyard was spotless and very welcoming after spending all day in the pool! Nice layout with rooms facing pool and courtyard definitely gives it a nice view with the mountains in the background.
- Sylvain (7/5): -
- Lauren (3/5): - Receptionist was helpful and friendly Very poor
Rooms were not practical- had to walk through another bedroom to get to the bathroom
Facilities broken
- sergio (8/5): - Change the carpets will be perfect
- Norman (10/5): - Convenient location, nice room, low cost, friendly.
- Greg (10/5): - Good place to stay.
- Lawrence (8/5): - It was good for our vacation.
- Deborah (6/5): Good value for the price. - The rooms were clean and the staff was friendly. It was in a good location and quiet at night. The pool was very nice, thoroughly enjoyed by my grandchildren. The plug for the kitchen sink wouldn't plug the sink so we had to use a bowl to wash in. The only knife was a large, very dull knife that was loose in the handle. There was no Kleenex in the room. There was a bright light shining directly on the bedroom window. I bought black garbage bags and taped them over the window.
- Greg (8/5): - The staff were very friendly. The pool and common areas were very nice. Great value for the money spent. We had deer eating apples that had fallen from the apple tree which is over 120 years old. Originally this was an apple tree orchard before the development of the city took over. Great value for the money spent. Thank you
- Jerimen (8/5): - The place is ok. Is clean and the
Where flexible with the time. I would stay there again.
- Carl (10/5): - Friendly staff...spacious....good for family with kids....
- Naven (10/5): - Excellent place for a nice family vacation
- Victor (9/5): Superb - Was clean and quiet
- Ariel (6/5): - Quiet, close to the lakes and dining options, BBQ’s were good for cooking our own food, good parking, pool was nice. Rooms were nothing special but good enough and comfortable enough for us! We had a small issue that was promptly and kindly fixed by management which we appreciated. I would recommend especially to anyone who is looking to save money by cooking some of their own meals
- Nicky (10/5): Great stay - Good place.
- Deanna (8/5): Very good -
- Anita (8/5): - Coyld use some TLC
- nola (10/5): - I was able yo park right outside my room. The place was very quiet and centràl to everything
- Larry (10/5): Amazing & Comfortable - Super clean, friendly staff, great pool. We stayed with a group of friends and quite liked this property. It was centrally located between both beaches and close to restaurants and grocery shops. We loved how all of the rooms have fully stocked kitchens which is rare in alot of hotels. Paul was particularly amazing throughout our stay.
- Donna (4/5): - No ice, no hot water until we ran taps for a bit. No one in office most of the time.
- Keith (10/5): Wonderful and relaxing - We stayed in the building across the office. Large kitchen, natural sunlight all day long, comfy beds, clean. We loved how large the green space was in the courtyard and the shade under big tree was the best in the heat. The pool was spotless and massive. My kids really enjoyed the property and beaches in penticton. We wakeup super early and wanted to sit in courtyard however the sprinklers were on… maybe adjusting the time, but that’s me just nit picking. Overall nothing else
- Eugene (9/5): Superb - Close to beaches, shopping and golf courses in the city.
- Joanna (10/5): Exceptional -
- Harm (9/5): Would stay again - The staff is top notch. We had 2 seperate issues at different times and the manager was on it, and went above and beyond to make sure we were happy. Had 1 request before arrival and they made sure we were accommodated. Only complaint I can think of, and I dont know if it is all the rooms... why no toilet lid? I didn't bring it up while there as that seems like a choice they made and it is what it is.
- Tami (10/5): - It was very family environment with great access to full kitchen and pool. Great for a family trip. And the pool was wonderful for the children while cooking
- Peter (7/5): Good - Good basic accommodation at a very good price
- Tammy (1/5): Would not book again - The front desk staff was really great and accommodating The rooms were disgustingly dirty
- Terrence (10/5): Relaxing atmosphere - We had a great stay during Elvis festival Great service!
- Josephus (9/5): Great experience and would book again. - Location and good service Not much
- Daniel (10/5): Great value & nice atmosphere - The motel itself was great, however the customer service was truly unmatched. Im definitely booking next time we pass through and stay a night in Penticton. Nothing we were very satisfied with our stay :) thumbs up to the owner
- Concito (10/5): - Friendly and economical.
- Josie (10/5): Amazing family owned inn - Nice and clean exterior and room was spotless! I had a broken toilet paper holder and Paul fixed it right away when i mentioned it. Comfortable bedding and it was close to the hospital for my appointment. Wish i stayed longer as it was good value for what I got. Offseason is definitely a great budget friendly option. I stayed in the summer last year and it was more than double the rate!
- Ahmed (9/5): Clean & Quiet - Central location close to everything. Nothing at the moment. Good value
- Eric (7/5): Good -
- Jason (9/5): Everything was good - Good place Nothing bad for my stay
- Emma (10/5): Cute and cozy inn - Excellent location, walking distance to great restaurants really great and responsive host.
Enjoyed my 2 night stay! It snowed during my stay.
- Manpreet (10/5): Clean good location - good price, location. Nice man at property Everything was good
- Alex (10/5): Perfect for my needs! - Clean and well equipped for my stay. Quiet and peaceful. Management was friendly. Definitely will book again next time I visit.
- Shannon (7/5): Good -
- Rory (10/5): It was quiet warm and comfortable. Perfect place for reasonable price. -
- Ilona (6/5): - Room for 1 person was alright, however shower stall was very small and I’m a small person. Other than that, my overnight stay was good.
- Billi-jo (8/5): Great place to relax - The rooms were very clean.the staff were there to answer questions or just ask about our day . If everything was OK. The rooms were great. Clean bathrooms.great kitchenette. I can honestly say I liked everything
- Morna (6/5): - The pictures showed two small bedrooms, but obe of the beds was in the kitchen, with nowhere else to sit but the kitchen table. Quite noisy and floodlights shone in the window—just light weight curtains. There was only one bowl—minimally appointed. On the plus side—decent location, very rudimentary, but clean.
- Isaacs (9/5): Superb -
- Emma (1/5): Not happy - The outdoor pool only good thing and the courtyard was nice The place was dirty disgusting. Flies flying around the whole time. Kitchen table had a broken leg taped up with duct tape. We will never come back. We complained and they refunded us one night
- Janet (3/5): Poor - Pool was ok The room was horrible shape dirty, toilet seat half off lid didn’t stay up, carpet in bedroom was discussing, front door unsafe barely stayed close
- William (9/5): Happy with our choice of booking. - Great location. Clean room. Friendly staff.
- Christopher (10/5): Exceptional - This place is great value. We come back every year, lovely communal space and a great bed set up for families.
The pool is a bit elevated from the road so it doesn't feel like you're just off the main drag
- Randymm (7/5): Good - Access to unit is great, location was good, good value for money.
- Paul (3/5): It was ok. - Location was fine.
Room was good size. Bed was horrible.
Marginally outfitted kitchen.
- Unagato (7/5): Good - Location was good the cable box packed it in the 2nd day no tv for 2 days
- Jamil (2/5): - Everything was extremely filthy. The mattress was of the lowest quality, and we were placed in a suite next to the pool's mechanical room. The constant, unbearable noise prevented us from sleeping.
There was no service available; the office was closed, and we had to track down the elderly caretaker. He informed us that the owner was away and that he was completely indifferent to our concerns and unwilling to help.
The previous owners allowed the service at this motel to deteriorate, but the new owner has made things even worse. We had been returning to this motel for years because of its central location, but due to its filthy and outdated condition, we will not be coming back.
- Nilam (8/5): Had a great time staying here with my family. - It was clean. The property was located near all amenities. The rate was good as well. Everything was good
- Diane (4/5): Needs paint and a power washer ! - The location - it is close to both lakes and beaches and is in walking distance to two restaurants. Room was extremely run down and dirty. Power points were either broken or weren't grounded. There was a heat coming from the oven that we couldn't work out.
- Scott (10/5): - The staff here deserve a shout out for keeping this place as clean and welcoming as it was. A lot of these older strip style motels in destination cities around BC can leave you feeling ripped off and in need of a Tetanus shot, but The Apple Tree surprised my girlfriend and I as it was the most affordable option(which while booking felt risky) was spotless, rooms were large, air conditioner had our suite cool and comfortable when we arrived, pool area was clean and enjoyable, I could go on, bottom line is this spot is the best bang for your buck in penticton! We will be back soon!
- Mitch (5/5): Passable -
