Easily communicated with hotel manager Martina throughout the duration of our stay through WhatsApp - scheduling transit and shuttles from Aurelio (staff). They were extremely nice our entire stay. The restaurant located on the property La Locanda was amazing, great food, nice and quiet patio outside. Would recommend staying here and would come back!

She was so welcoming and helpful! The vibe of the property is chill and relaxing 😌 We enjoyed a wonderful lunch by the pool (they grow their own vegetables!) and a great dinner at the restaurant on site. My only regret was not staying longer! I 100% recommend!

The check-in was very quick and easy, followed by a restaurant right on site that does a wonderful dinner as well as a complimentary Italian breakfast. The pool is cozy and received plenty of sunlight, and the room was comfortable along with a top notch A/C and a stocked mini fridge. We’ll certainly stay again next time we’re in town
- Julian (8/5): - An sich sind wir sehr zufrieden mit der Unterkunft. 4 Sterne finde ich allerdings etwas viel. Das Frühstücksbuffet ist eigentlich nur ein Tisch voll, leider nicht wirklich viel, Auswahl. etwas Gemüse könnte hier auch dabei sind oder Rührei etc. Sehr schade, dass das Wasser beim Frühstück nur zum Schein in die Glasflaschen abgefüllt ist. Man benötigt unbedingt ein Auto vor Ort. Die Zimmer sind vollkommen ausreichend und sehr sauber, hier gibt es nichts zu bemängeln. Der Pool ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen und stinkt etwas nach Algen. Ansonsten kann man sich nicht beschweren. Pool Service haben wir keinen gesehen wir überall drin steht.

- Isabella (10/5): - We ended our Europe trip with a week at Hotel Borgo di Santa Barbara and it was the perfect choice. The property is absolutely beautiful and peaceful, a great place to unwind. You can relax by the pool or head to Tropea beach, which is just a short drive away. The breakfast each morning was delicious with a variety of options, many of them homemade. The family who owns and runs the hotel is incredibly welcoming and their hospitality really stands out. Everything was also very clean and well taken care of. We had such a wonderful stay and would love to return someday.

Huone siisti, mutta aika pieni, terassi antoi lisätilaa koti-iltaan. Junarata ihan vieressä, huom jos olet huono nukkuja (vähän liikennöity kuitenkin).

Eigenaresse Barbara verdient een heel dikke pluim. De huurauto had het begeven en zij heeft werkelijk alles gedaan om te helpen. Onvermoeibaar💪. Het ontbijt is het beste dat we in Calabrië hadden. Allemaal verse producten en enorme keuze in het aangenaam, rustige restaurant waar je voor een concurrerende prijs ook heerlijk kunt dineren.

They set up shuttles to get us to and from Tropea beach and main square on multiple occasions which made travelling stress free. The onsite restaurants food was delicious so we ate all our dinners there. Overall, the hotel offers everything you would need. We had an exceptional stay and will definitely choose to stay here again should we wind up back in the area in the future.

- Lisa (10/5): Best Secret in Tropea - I cannot say enough about this hotel and the family that owns it and operates it. It is truly a full family operation so it works like a well oiled machine. They are friendly. They speak English German Italian. They will accommodate you with whatever you need. The location is perfect getting to all of the surrounding areas the restaurant included with the hotel is wonderful great food everything is homemade and grown fresh and local. We cannot say enough about this hotel, and I will definitely be visiting again I highly recommend the boat cruise that they will offer you and we actually ate dinner in the hotel every night fresh local food.

- Monika (10/5): - Das Hotel liegt zwar nicht direkt am Strand, aber in 15 Minuten geht man zu Fuß. Das Frühstück ist sehr gut. Es gibt alles über Eier, Wurst, Käse, verschiedenes Gebäck und mehr. Die Mitarbeiter sind sehr zuvorkommend und freundlich. Die Zimmer wie das ganze Hotel ist wunderbar. Dies war sicherlich nicht unser einziger Urlaub in Kalabrien.
- Joanne (10/5): - Can’t say enough good things about this hotel. Two story (we asked for a ground floor), ours had a large patio with chairs, table. The A/C works better than any that we have encountered, and the bed is very comfortable. There is Wi-Fi in the room and at the restaurant. The windows have screens on them so one can open the windows for the breeze. Plenty of power outlets. The property is very quiet, one can see the ocean, it is just steps from their restaurant, where we had a delicious dinner. Today breakfast included cereals, pastries, fresh fruit, yogurt, meats and cheeses, coffee machine that makes fresh coffee. Gated parking. The owner and staff are very welcoming and speak several languages. Wish we could stay longer and use this as a base for exploration of Calabria.

- Jill (10/5): Fabulous! - Immediately upon arrival, I was greeted with incredible friendliness & helpfulness. This is a family run business, and everyone was invested in making sure the stay was pleasant and that you had everything you needed. I had a few challenges and the whole family helped out from picking me up at the train station, to getting me a last minute car hire. I have never stayed at a hotel where the people were so helpful and kind! The restaurant on site was incredible; I ate there every night. The food absolutely stellar, as well as an incredibly organized and friendly staff. My room was clean & comfortable. I appreciated that the room has an outside area with chairs to sit after a long day out and about. I will miss my friends that I made while staying there, and will absolutely return. - Amanda (10/5): - Alles in einem war es super. (Die Unterkunft war durch die Baustellen der Straßen leider nicht einfach zu finden). Sehr schönes Familiengeführtes Hotel mit nur 18 Zimmern, was wir sehr begrüßen. Das dazu gehörende Restaurant war sehr gut, wir hatten jeden Abend vor Ort gegessen, weil es uns sehr gut geschmeckt haben. Wir haben uns richtig wohl gefühlt. Fabio, der Sohn der Besitzerin, war super nett und besonders aufmerksam. Man braucht auf jeden Fall ein Auto, wenn man sich was anschauen will. Tropea ist sehr naheliegend. Alles top 👍.

Wifi was not too good. We were disappointed that the nice beach is not close. Maybe provide some evening entertainment for guests. Surrounding areas to walk do not feel safe

- Alessia (10/5): - Hotel stupendo con vista mare vicino Tropea. Viaggio di coppia ci siamo trovati benissimo, posto tranquillo e rilassante con piscina e struttura curatissima. Le camere sembrano piccole villette a schiera e sono molto ben tenute come anche il giardino circostante. Colazione buonissima con prodotti fatti in casa come le marmellatine con frutta di stagione e prodotti tutti di qualità. Posto stupendo, ci ritorneremo sicuramente.

A full breakfast was included in our accommodation cost. Restaurant was great as well. Not far from the main tourist spots. Easily accessible by car. Apparently they also have a shuttle service to drop you off in the town centre should you not have your own transport. We had our own car Highly recommend this place & would definitely stay here again!

- Monika (10/5): Wunderschöne Ferien bei sehr netten Gastgebern - Es fing schon bei der sehr freundlichen Begrüssung an und ging weiter in einem sehr schönen Zimmer mit Meerblick. Für uns waren es die perfekten Ferien, das feine und mit viel Liebe vorbereitete Frühstück und die wunderbaren und schmackhaften kalabrischen Köstlichkeiten zum Abendessen liessen für uns keine Wünsche offen. Dazu der kompetente und ebenfalls sehr freundliche Service mit den feinen Wein-Empfehlungen, natürlich aus Kalabrien. Spätestens jetzt wussten wir, dass unsere 9 Nächte hier nicht ausreichen würden, um alles probieren zu können!!! Wir werden sicher wieder kommen, auch wegen der tollen Strände und der wunderschönen Umgebung um Tropea herum. Ebenfalls der Pool mit Liegen und der gepflegte Garten beim Hotel gefielen uns sehr. La posizione dista un paio di km dal centro dunque tranquilla e silenziosa con il servizio navetta sempre a disposizione. Il personale sempre gentile e disponibile come pochi e poi adiacente alla struttura c’è un ristorante gestito sempre da loro a dir poco delizioso si mangia veramente bene e serviti da personale sempre gentile e premuroso... che dire io lo consiglio mi sono trovato bene!!

- E. (10/5): Wunderbares familiär geführtes Hotel, - Strand ist jedoch nur mit Auto.zu erreichen. Dafür ist das Meer wunderbar sauber und blau. Wenn man in diesem tollem Hotel verbleibt, benötigt man auf jeden Fall einen Mietwagen. Kalabria lohnt sich in jeder Hinsicht! Nette Menschen, tolle Landschaft und wunderbares Essen.
- Dennis (10/5): Wunderschönes Hotel - Sehr schönes, sauberes Hotel, freundliche Mitarbeiter, Familiäre Atmosphäre. Das integrierte Restaurant in dem das Frühstück eingenommen wird, ist Abends a la carte wärmstens zu empfehlen, frische regionale Küche. Hotel schön am Berg gelegen, es ist empfehlenswert einen Leihwagen am Flughafen zu buchen, insofern man nicht mit dem eigenen Pkw anreist. Weg zum Strand ca 15min zu Fuß. Nächst größere Stadt (Tropea) ca 3km entfernt. Es wird gegen einen kleinen Betrag ein Shuttleservice nach Tropea und zum Strand angeboten.

Both of us wished we had longer and we considered rearranging our schedule so we could stay here on our return. A very reasonable price for a very high level of luxurious service and a very comfortable room.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Schöne Hotelanlage - Trotz der schönen Hotelanlage, der Freundlichkeit des Personals, des guten Frühstück, der schönen Poolanlage bleibt ein kleines Minus, man benötigt ein Fahrzeug um an die umliegenden Strände zu gelangen....wir waren mit Auto unterwegs und können dieses Hotel zu 100% weiterempfehlen..
- Mr M J (10/5): Outstanding and very welcoming hotel - Stayed here with friends for two nights to visit the Tropea area. It was tricky to find but hotel.com directions on their app was excellent. The hotel was beautifully set out and all rooms had outdoor space. Ate in the restaurant which was very good. The owners and staff were very welcoming and friendly. Breakfast also excellent. It was difficult at first to get our bearings from it as Tropea roads are not easy but did in the end. It was within 30 mins walking distance but you could drive in and park. It was great for the area as we were not far off the main road and could access Pizzo and Capo Vaticano easily. It was a lovely oasis of calm after the bustle of Tropea. We will definitely stay there again and highly recommend it.

Lontano dal caos di Tropea di agosto ma raggiungibile in 5 minuti di auto, la struttura si presenta nuova curata e mantenuta veramente con grande meticolosità. Noi alloggiavamo a pianterreno con ingresso idipendente, la camera spaziosa con un capientissimo armadio attrezzato, aria condizionata molto efficiente e silenziosa usata anche di notte dato il caldo afoso di questi giorni. Un bel frigo capiente che può ospitare diverse bottiglie di acqua. La colazione ottima sia continentale con salumi caprese e dolci cornetti torte crostate La pulizia impeccabile , biancheria morbida e di ricambio giornaliera del bagno il quale è anch'esso spaziosa con una bella doccia. Il servizio attento anche se mai invadente. Consiglio vivamente questa struttura, ovviamente si deve essere automuniti per raggiungere le spiagge splendide dei dintorni in particolare vi consiglio quella di Formicoli lunga spaziosa con sabbia bianca parcheggio a pagento al coperto 5 euro tutta la giornata è facile da raggiungere proprio accanto al supermercato Conand del paese.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice place to stay - I would recommend this hotel well located around Tropea. Hotel staff very nice and efficient,nice swimming pool,comfortable rooms. What we did not like is however the proximity of a disco club not far from the hotel and very loud. Hopefully not every night but very annoying. Otherwise a very nice place to stay.
