The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable with very efficient air conditioning. The room itself was tiny. It was ok for one person but would be very small for a couple. The room was in the first floor and there is no lift, as this hotel is more like a house.

Net een straatje achter de drukkere straten. Leuk museum in de straat. Er is geen ontbijt mogelijk. Dit kan wel waarde toevoegen aan het hotel.

- Koyo (7/5): - ちょっと歩けばジョンカーウォークに出られるところ。夜市を楽しむことができてよかった。 チェックインの際に飲み物をいただけた。ハチミツのような味がした。 Grabの出発点にも設定できるのでチェックアウトしてすぐにマラッカ海峡モスクに向かうなんてこともできる。 歯ブラシがないので要持参。 外からの音がほぼ丸聞こえ。夜の11時ぐらいでも外の賑やかな音が聞こえてくるので耳栓を持参することをおすすめする。 エレベーターがないのでスーツケースを降ろすのが大変（チェックインの時はスタッフの方が運んでくださった）。

La posizione è ottima: proprio in centro ma in una strada tranquilla. Ottimo per me che viaggiavo da sola. Purtroppo, trattandosi di un'abitazione tradizionale, le stanze sono davvero molto piccole (nonostante il letto enorme) e non c'è spazio per poggiare nulla.

My room was very small the lock on the door was very difficult to open and to lock. I asked if perhaps some WD40 could be applied and, although they said they had looked at it and done that, it was still very difficult to operate. I didn't dare lock it from the inside in case I couldn't then get out! Also, the television didn't work at all...

Most of the staff were indifferent and after check in mostly ignored us when we came in and left the hotel. We stayed during a weekend so it was pretty noisy. 2 small bottles of water on arrival. Charged for refills. Found medication (pills) under the telephone on one of the bedside tables. Informed the hotel and received standard response.

- shin chuan (8/5): 古蹟居家體驗 - 櫃檯的小姐很親切，工作人員都很友善。 地點離雞場街很近很方便，但因為太靠近熱區所以出入都是堵車的狀態。 房間所有白色相關備品都是白灰色的，實在有點😅，建議自己帶洗臉毛巾。 因為是老房子，對聲音敏感的要自備耳塞。

- Gavin (5/5): Good, but very basic hotel - though that was reflected in the very inexpensive cost. - Great location - really central to the old part of town. Very small room. No breakfast available at the hotel (though we found a really good cafe just around the corner). Also, they took 100 Baht as a deposit against the state of the room, and 3 weeks after our stay they have not yet refunded it to my Visa card as they had promised. Although that’s only £18, so not overly important, it is annoying, and I would advise anyone else staying there to take care to pay the room deposit in cash, so that you can be sure to get it back as you check out!

- Gracie (3/5): - Air-con is not bad. Firstly, the toilet door very hard to lock and affect the water spray out while showering. The room space too small even can’t open the door. Next, water heater can’t also adjust the water temperature hence it is too hot when showering. This hotel has weak soundproofing even I open television with normal volume. The most terrible experience is no one open door for me and I stay outside for a few minutes. The hotel only provides one key to access room. It is not convenient to many guests to stay. Last, one of the hotel staff has a poor service and he make me feel uncomfortable.

Room was spotlessly clean and well appointed for. 3-star hotel. We had the River View Suite which I would recommend if it is available. It has a lovely balcony / terrace, with a great view out across the river. Staff very friendly and helpful. Great value for money. Nothing.

- Kavitha (6/5): Not worth the price and deposit not refunded after a month - Location: The Gingerflower Hotel was smack in the middle of the tourist area and provided a safe and easy accommodation for my Melaka stay. Most of the tourist attractions were easily reachable within a moment's walk. Staff: The staff was really great. Coming from Singapore by bus, I had no ringgits when I took a taxi. The staff gave me the money to pay the driver, who refused to take cards or US dollars. The front reception staff members were also friendly and helpful in other ways. Anything I requested was brought to me right away. They were really great! View: The room had a nice window and a view that looked out over the old streets, where you can sit on the sill and people watch if you feel too lazy to venture out. Bed: The mattress was comfortable but it was only a day in that I realised I had developed a neck pain because of the way one side of the bed was tilted downwards. Broken, just badly built? No idea. But it was a huge issue. I had to sleep on the other side of the bed. Cleanliness: My inside bed linen certainly had stains that was hidden by tucking them inside. Not acceptable at all! Especially since I untuck the bed to sleep more comfortably. The cleaning staff also did not regularly visit and clean out the room on a daily basis. Room: The room certainly had issues, which I kind of overlooked since I already knew it was originally a Chinese shophouse. There was constant light throughout the day because of an upper opening that was only covered by glass (no curtains, and anyway it would not have been reachable). The bed was positioned so that there was not sufficient space to actually get into it comfortably from the side of the bed. Overall, bad designing. Laundry: As a destination, Melaka is best visited over the weekend because that's when Jonker Night Market is in operation. But the staff informed me that laundry services are closed over the weekend and they cannot provide the service, which is advertised on Booking and elsewhere. Deposit: This is the part I am most annoyed about and why this hotel is not getting a very good rating from me. They took a deposit (fair enough) but did not refund it right away on check out. It's been more than a month and they have basically stolen 100 ringgits. This is absolutely unacceptable. Overall, not at all worth the money paid. The rate itself is quite expensive for the services provided, and then they take the deposit, which is extra and don't refund. Absolutely not worth the price in any possible way. Try something else or just get one of the service apartments.

Room has everything you need and a very comfortable bed. Staff were very friendly and accomodating. Can get noisy and echo-y, rooms are quite small but has everything you need

- Terry (10/5): Perfect spot in Melaka. - The location is perfect, easy walk to any area, either side of river. Many great cafes and restaurants in area. The premier deluxe room with the balcony is lovely! Spacious and great view to part of the river area. It was quiet. The staff is great! Helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend, especially the premier deluxe with balcony. (Stayed 2 nights in regular room and 5 in premier deluxe).

- Francois (8/5): - Hôtel très bien situé, juste derrière Jonker Walk, et à bonne distance pour visiter les sites à pied. Le personnel est avenant et disponible, les chambres de l'étage ont les fenêtres ouvertes vers le puits de lumière si l'on a envie de lumière du jour. Le seul point délicat concerne la pré-authorisation : il est indiqué que la pré-autorisation peut être réglée en espèces ou en carte lors du check-in. Or, elle a été prélevée sur ma carte avant mon arrivée, et la restitution ne se fera que sous 7 à 14 jours.
