Guest Reviews
- Kevon (10/5): -
- Renato (10/5): - Been in this place many times found very accomodating ,clean and have pleasant environment...Staff were very friendly as if you were new there they guide and if you ask for anything they will answer you with a friendly smile... I dont thinked I have to answer this question as I really like the place I dont have any negative thoughts of the place, found it as I have feeling at home.
- Joy (8/5): Excellent value budget hotel. - Great location and excellent value for money. Our initial room didn’t smell as we’d expected but spoke to reception and they found us a different room immediately which was much better. The rooms are tired with some fittings worn but they are very clean.
- Rachel (7/5): - The hotel was a good location and decent rooms. The bed was awful the mattress defintley needed replacing. Adrian had a really bad night as he struggles with his hip anyway and he just could not get out of bed very easy and could feel all the strings in it.
- Jessy (7/5): -
- Harry (5/5): It wasnt very clean and was very run down. - Good Price and location It wasnt very clean and was very run down.
- Imogen (2/5): Very unclean, but fine if you've got no where else to stay - Easy to get to, with parking available. The room was disgustingly unclean, stains, mystery smears on the walls - the furniture, lights and radiators were damaged & there were ants in the lower part of the room. The AC does not work & the room got very very warm, beds were okay but the pillows were laughably thin & uncomfortable to sleep on (as you only get one per person).
- Jamie (2/5): Very uncomfortable bed. - The location is near the tube station which I where I needed to be. The bed was the most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept on. The springs dug into your back and it sagged in the middle. They also only provided 3 pillows for 4 people. I got more when I asked, but it was a challenge. We left a night early as we could not face another night so uncomfortable.
- Sameera (7/5): Arch hotel is a comfortable and quiet place to stay, with all the amenities close by. - We liked the location, the spacious rooms and the staff. It is situated in a very good location which is close to all the supermarkets, shops, restaurants, the busses and the tube station. Would stay again when we come back to London. We wish the bathroom was a bit better. It would have been better if there was a shower cubicle instead of just a shower curtain. Water went everywhere when we took showers and floor became very slippery. Then there was a pungent smell in the bathroom although it was spotlessly clean.
- Leon (5/5): Mittel - Personal, Parkplatz, Erreichbarkeit.
- sai kishore (8/5): -
- Mark (10/5): Great base. - Close to tube and great to be able to park up and visit London. Good value for money to be honest. Friendly staff too. I’ll definitely use it again. Beds were hard.
- Joe (8/5): -
- Catherine (5/5): Being asked for my details again and passport made me cross - felt I was being treated suspiciously and as though I was - Location Carpets were worn and tired
- Nathan (9/5): Good hotel - Very nice location and easy to get to. The room we had was very nice but the walls were quite dirty and the bed board had staines on them and had a stain on the pillow.
- Scarlett (4/5): - Good sized room, comfy bed, close to tube station and in a lovely bit of London, convenient kitchenette TV had poor connection so only BBC 1 was an option, no option to lock the door from the inside, air conditioning/ heater was very loud so it had to be turned off, blood on duvet which only discovered as I was leaving
- Adina (5/5): -
- Liliya (6/5): - comfy bed I did not have hot water in the morning, which made me have a cold shower, noisy over the night
- Lyndon (8/5): -
- Katharina (10/5): Top!
- dennis (9/5): Enjoyed London good location - Great location
Nice clean room
Friendly staff
Over night parking Tv would not work
- Omar Elsaba (8/5): Good place, will book again. - The staff were friendly. The location is excellent. There was an issue with a leaking toilet, I came to the room late at night and noticed this later then. The bed sheets were clean, but I think it could be better.
- Kheri (10/5): -
- Janette (4/5): Very basic no-frills - Good location for my meeting Cold, no bedside lights, very bare - more like a hostel
- peter (9/5): -
- Marvin (7/5): -
- Alan (7/5): Perfect location for our needs and will stay again in the future. - Location and ease of parking. Heating was a little difficult to establish how to work - once operated all ok.
- Courtney (5/5): - The room was spacious. Pleanty of parking and felt safe I booked a room for 4 people and was given a rokm for 3 people and we had to make shift a bed on the floor out of blankets and pillows.
- JEAN (1/5): Awful, avoid! - Nothing Everything! Firstly, 7.1 stars is an absolute joke.trip advisor ratings are completely different!
We booked via booking.com, in what we thought was the duplex apartment. As advertised on booking.com, the room was supposed to contain 2 double beds, a sofa, garden views, desk, seating area and executive lounge access.
Instead what we had were wires hanging from the ceiling, unsafe air conditioning units, unsafe smoke detectors, a dirty bathroom, unsafe electrical switches and an open cupboard leading to a loft space and a fuse box. No seating area, sofa or desk in sight.
The electrical units alone deem the room unfit for purpose and pose a huge safety risk.
When speaking to the receptionist, he didn't deny my claims and the photos prove these. Unable to offer us another room and even after traveling for 5 hours the room was completely uninhabitable so we had no choice but to find somewhere else to sleep for the night At 11pm on a Saturday evening.
The hotel themselves have received my complaint, yet I am still waiting to hear back.
Avoid completely!
- Amanda (4/5): Great area but room was run down. Mattress needs replacing - The reception staff was friendly and polite and the reception area was clean and smelt lovely. Location was perfect. The mattress was filthy. Windows lock was broken. The room was cold but warmed up after putting radiators on. The whole room could do with a bit of care and attention.
- Kendall (9/5): -
- Jason (10/5): Easy to find, friendly staff and very spacious and great value for money. - Easy to find, friendly staff and very spacious and great value for money.
- Amanda (7/5): Well provided for, safe, comfortable accommodation for business stays - Room a good size with ensuite shower room to one side and a kitchenette with fridge, microwave, kettle, plates, cutlery, hot drink sachets the other. Four minutes walk from Upper Holloway station. I was only there for a brief overnight, so didn't get to fully explore or appreciate all aspects. The mattress was comfortable. Most features upgraded and spotless. Wall mounted television facing the middle of the bed. Hangars in wardrobe, plenty of shelves for storage. Black out curtain effective. Good shower and easy enough to operate. Clean white linen and towels. WiFi password on room entry card. Double lock on door for security. Window for fresh air. Man on front entrance security desk at all times. The interior didn't match the exterior in style. I am not keen on an overall colour scheme of grey and black with no decorative highlights, further colours or details, but for a business trip this is conventionally considered acceptable. It was too warm for me overnight, but I believe there was possibly a thermostat. The plumbing system emitted quite a bit of noise overnight. Water in shower took time to heat. I would have preferred the shampoo and body gel from wall mounted dispensers as there was no shelf to place the little plastic containers provided. Could have done with hooks to hang the towels. Vinyl flooring near the shower room entrance worn down. Glass panel around shower inadequate for keeping water from splashing on floor outside.
- Thomas (10/5): - Location, facilities and space N/A
- Iryna (8/5): - The room was clean and the beds were large. We liked that our room was in a separate building with its own entrance. The day after we arrived, our room was cleaned thoroughly and the towels were changed. Great location, lots of shops nearby, metro and bus stops nearby. There was no table or chairs. The bathroom is cold and has no ventilation, so everything is very wet after a shower.
- Sam (4/5): Terrible sleep - Was reasonably clean and nice staff Church bells ring literally every hour loudly through the night got no sleep
- Nerea (10/5): -
- Zbigniew (8/5): -
- Gavin (7/5): - The rooms were warm, an acceptable shower room, centrally located, close to shopping and public transport.
Although we have plenty to say about the property. We would return just for the location, which is close to our families. Room was very tired, as in lots of damage to the laminate flooring i.e. previous flood damage. Cracked hand wash basin. Bed was very noisy, but comfortable. Air conditioning units not functioning and absolutely filthy dirty. Fridge had very little shelving and no freezer compartment. Limited television, no terrestrial tv channels, and every other channels was pay as you go. No lighting above the shower room mirror and no lighting above the dressing table mirror. Not conducive for anyone wishing to use makeup etc. Sparse kitchen utensils, no sharp knives, no chopping board etc.
- peter (10/5): - Good location. Very quiet and comfortable
- Callum (7/5): Clean, convenient location and friendly staff. - Great location and friendly staff. It could do with a refresh. It’s a bit outdated in places.
- mike (5/5): Wouldn’t stop again - Location Dirty and tatty
- Joy (9/5): Great value hotel and rooms very clean. - Excellent value hotel. Stayed here twice now and both rooms were big, spotlessly clean and well-equipped as studios with full fridges and microwaves. The carpets in stairwells and hallways have had lots of use and there is some finishes in rooms need updating but the hotel remains excellent value.
- 783catharinem (2/5): Do not use! Not clean, damaged room, terrible customer service. - Horrendous experience at this hotel. I paid for a 4 star hotel and stayed in a room that did not reflect this. There was a disgusting stain on the headboard. I asked to move rooms and was told that there were no other rooms available. I did not pay to sleep in a bed with someone else's stain on it. We were given a bedsheet to put on the headboard to cover it up. Covering the stain up was not an acceptable solution. The walls were scuffed and the window was damaged and did not close properly which on the ground floor did not feel safe. The curtains and curtain rail were filthy and broken. The floor, mirror and toilet roll holder were damaged. I have attached a photo from the website of the 'Executive Studio' which did not match the room we were given at all. I complained to the hotel and asked for a refund which was refused and I was accused of submitting false documentation. I was told that the images I submitted did not match the current interior, layout, or fixtures of the room I was assigned. However I have timestamped photos the photo of the damaged window and curtain shows my car which proves my location. Do not use - filthy, damaged and no desire to accept responsibility or resolve issues.
- Mantas (7/5): -
- darryl (8/5): Perfect - Great location, fabulous size rooms with a little character! Rooms a little tired, but presentable!
- Liam (5/5): For the cheap price, I’d be happy to stay again. - The location was easy to find and had plenty of local shops. The lady behind the desk was lovely and very helpful. The beds were comfy. The mattresses and inner curtain nets had stains. There were ants coming in from somewhere. The main stairs are a little loud.
- sophie (8/5): Good location and good nights sleep - Great location for where we were looking to go - The room had 2 full double beds for all 4 of us, hard to find when you book for 4 people in one room. Had a good mini kitchen and parking (which must be booked) The bathroom could of been cleaner, there was a lot of stains in there. The overall place could do with a good 'revamp' to really make it perfect. However, this didn't effect our stay.
- Vitalii (8/5): -
- Paola (7/5): -
- Ian (7/5): -
- Patricia (7/5): -
- Molly (8/5): Pleasant - Clean Cold shower, didn’t get warm at all
- Abby (1/5): Was ok for one night but wouldn’t recommend or stay again. - Location was great and bed were comfy. Style of the room was perfect. The room needs a good clean, painting, updated lighting. New table and chairs.
The room needs new flooring.
- Kelley (7/5): - The location was great, easy access, not directly on Holloway Road, so it was quiet. Very clean. The bed needs a new mattress...that was a very uncomfortable sleep for a couple of nights.
- Sally (8/5): -
- Hannah (7/5): - Good location for us. Not too far from local stores. Big room. Two bedrooms. Dated bathroom. Outside areas could do with some TLC
- Lorna (9/5): Really nice and friendly staff would stay again - Modern large rooms, we were in a two bedroom apartment. Both rooms were big with double beds and a/c units and heaters. Bathroom had a really good big shower and towels are changed every day were needed A/c unit was a big problem in our room we couldn’t turn it off, it was cutting in and out all the time so the first night I didn’t get much sleep so the next night we took the card out that keeps the electric on in the rooms problem solved
- Beatrice (8/5): -
- watson (10/5): -
- henrietta (8/5): -
- Daniel (10/5): -
- Sarah (8/5): -
- Petra (9/5): Lovely cozy stay - Garden Suite was a lovely unique place to stay. Perfect for Arsenal fans as its 15min walk :) The floor was a bit used and we missed at least one chair.
- Piotr (3/5): Terrible. I could post a video of conditions but no option for that. - Nothing. Did not enjoy it. Too long to tell. Things broken, cables hanging out. No hot water (barely warm). Not even two bedrooms as described. No privacy. Tiny kitchen, hardly anything useful. Overpriced parking.
- Nick (8/5): - Great location to station for Spurs Nothing a great valued stay
- Bravo (8/5): -
- Alessandro (8/5): -
- Darren (10/5): -
- Joel-David (10/5): -
- Magdalena (10/5): - Affordable nice hotel, we stayed only 1 night but everything was good and duplex looked great. Close to a metro station. I would recommend this hotel
- Caroline (8/5): Warm and cosy in a filthy night, and in a great and bustling location with fab transport links. - It was very clean and spacious and had 24 hour front desk. Nice bed linen an it was warm ! It was quite hard to find as it does not have a street number- Inthink the exact location should be made known to guests using a dropped pin or what three words.
- Steven (6/5): Lovely staff, but the rooms are very tired - Location was great and parking was easy and not too expensive For such a lovely building, I believe the rooms have been let go and have deteriorated. No money spent when they could be really nice. The Windows didn’t shut properly they were held together with a hairband, the other window. The locking mechanism was broke. There is no hot water in the shower. The lining of the curtains were filthy and stained and the architrave around the flooring was all removed in parts, as well as the table in the room looked like a children’s school desk that had been written on and has a carvings,
- letizia (5/5): -
- Shaun (1/5): This is not a four star hotel. - Location was great being so close to the Archway tube station. Staff were friendly. Tired and worn out carpets and laminate flooring. Broken tiles in the bathroom. A previous guests pubic hairs in the bathroom and the heating didn’t work. Noticed a burn mark in the wall below a power socket in the entrance to the ‘hotel’ which is signs of a dead short in the hotels power circuitry.
- Bravo (10/5): Nos encantó! - Si, limpio y central Todo bien
- Enzo (7/5): -
- Renato (9/5): Nothing to tell much - Cleaned and the staff is friendly Nothing maybe it needs more hrater inside the room Clean and green
- Deirdre (4/5): Not a welcoming place. Clean but cold. Approached the receptionist for assistance and was told that if it remained that - The location Unpleasant afternoon reception
- Joe (8/5): -
- Julie (5/5): Misleading details - If you’re a family who realizes that the second bedroom is on a mezzanine over the first, then it will work for you. The hotel was very clean. Every lead page for the Arch Hotel advertises the highlight of “Parking” and “Private Parking”. It should state in the headlines – not in the small print – that the parking is payable and expensive (£40 if you have two vehicles). The oversight seemed intentional: I only received this info at 8pm on the night of our stay; and the hotel receptionist could have told us that on a Saturday night there were multiple free parking spaces on either side of the entrance. I found this but my builder had already paid for his car.
My search on booking.com for two separate bedrooms brought this hotel up as the first option. The hotel call it a duplex, which in the US means two separate living quarters, and in the UK means rooms on two different floors - not one space. I found myself sharing a sleeping space with my builder, who snores loudly and gets up noisily at 5:15am. This between two 14 hour work days left me shattered!
- Neil (6/5): - Easy to find. Bed was comfy. Fridge broken. Bit noisy but that was just people 🙄
- Sarah (8/5): Very pleasant stay, would return. Wonderfully quiet for a central London hotel. - Extremely convenient,
quiet. Pleasant decor and a great view of the church. Felt warm and cosy, and all the reception staff were pleasant and willing to help with any queries. Easy check in. Very clean bathroom, good easy to use shower. Very little to dislike, although felt the car park fees were high per day.
- Steel (8/5): - Spacious and had all we needed for a one night visit Nothing
- Charles (8/5): -
- Rav (10/5): -
