Guest Reviews

- Pamela (8/5): Great place to stay for exploring the area. - The staff were incredibly nice and friendly Can’t think of any
- Case (10/5): - The proximity to Tico Time!!!
- Case (10/5): - The breakfast was amazing!!!
- Shelley (10/5): A very comfortable place to stay. - This property has been recently remolded and very clean. The staff here is exceptional! The rooms are quiet and very comfortable. I’m so glad we decided to stay here. Nothing
- Alex (10/5): -
- Cordova (8/5): Nice stay. Clean and Safe - The quality and cleanliness of the room was fantastic. The staff was also very helpful and courteous. Meeting room WiFi did not work
- Everhart (10/5): -
- Michael (10/5): -
- Renee (10/5): - Close to stuff
- Tyler (10/5): -
- Joel (9/5): - Newer motel. Nice room and good rate. Staff was very friendly. Breakfast was much better than most free breakfast, it had several non-typical fresh cooked hot items.
- Brenda (7/5): NICE PLACE BUT LITTLE HIGH PRICED - NICE ROOMS. BREAKFAST WAS GOOD. THE PARKING LOT WAS DARK. SOME OF THE LIGHTING WAS OUT. STRANGE MAN HANGING OUT AT FRONT DOOR WHEN WE ARRIVED AND UNLOADED LUGAGE. THOUGHT THE PRICE WAS A LITTLE TOO MUCH FOR THE LOCATION. WE PAID OVER $200 FOR 1 NIGHT. I PAID $380 FOR 2 NIGHTS IN A NICE HOTEL IN ESTES PARK, COLORADO.
- Robert (7/5): -
- Summer (10/5): -
- Raymond (2/5): Bad service - Poor service and none working TV that staff 'was not' able to fix and would not fix
- Karen (10/5): - The manager was so nice and accommodating. Love stay here.
- Carole (2/5): - Unfriendly
- Larry (6/5): Beware - Be very careful when booking this property. They claim to be pet friendly but as there is not a place to list pets on the app or website I had made a prepaid reservation and then told I could not have the type oo room I booked because they had no more "dog rooms". Also the pet fee was more than double what was stated on the app. Also inconsistencies re weight of dogs allowed.
- Joey (2/5): - We have booked here several times through expedia and this time shortly after booking, the owner/manager of Hotel called to tell me he would not allow us to stay at his hotel because i have not yet changed the address on my DL. My MIL had passed, that was the reason for booking this time, now just trying to get my $ back from Expedia. The owner of the Hotel was rude, hung up on me and basically could care less about the fact I had stayed several times prior. We we come for her service in June I will make sure he makes not a dime from family of friends.
- melissa (10/5): - We loved staying here. Friendly staff, newly remodeled and quiet
- Richard (8/5): - It was a very pleasant stay.
- Kay (6/5): - My 2 complaints-wireless internet not working
No access to the yogurt at breakfast
- Marcella (8/5): - You pay lot on the room you have to pay for deposit fees . Not working for some of us at come 4 hrs way to drive out here.
- Cindy (2/5): - I don’t write bad reviews and we travel all over the US for business. But It was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had at a hotel. Walked in to check in, I have a service dog and the owner at the front desk, started arguing about how my dog was not a service dog. I have paperwork and a badge to show proof. Then he told us to get out of his hotel and started cussing and making a seen. So we left and then he charged us for a room and a pet fee. We didn’t stay there. I’m only letting others know what kind of service that you get at this hotel.
- Charles (6/5): - Empty
- Stephanie (10/5): - Breakfast was great and I was upgraded to a better room at check in.
- cresvy (10/5): - very quite and clean .great staff service. had a awesome breakfast.
- cruz (10/5): - had a great stay
- Wendy (8/5): - It was quiet, a couple of miles south of downtown Aztec.
It was very new and clean.
Room with one double bed was smaller than what I am used to, but just adequate.
Not many guests.
Breakfast was okay.
- Dina (4/5): - Very rude and unfriendly check in staff person. Very expensive pet fees. The room itself is very clean and comfortable but the pet expense and rudeness of check in staff will keep us from staying here or recommending this hotel in the future.
- Justin (2/5): - They denied us a room and were extremely rude. And I am now unable to get a refund. I will never patronize Expedia or comfort inn again.
- meera (10/5): - quick check in/check out,very quite and clean room.great service
- Lois (10/5): A very nice place to stay. - Very clean, quiet. They were very helpful. Their breakfast is real nice, they offer you a breakfast. Not a box of cereal and a piece of fruit.
They have a outdoor patio area, fire pit, and a BRQ grill.
- roxy (10/5): - A nice, impeccably clean & well maintained property in a convenient location. Would definitely stay again, if ever in the area!
- mitxy (10/5): - everything was excellent on my stay .front desk was very helpful.great breakfast.
- Pete (2/5): - Cards on outside door reader don’t work ,
- pat (10/5): - great! Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities, property conditions & facilities
- pam (10/5): - great! Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities, property conditions & facilities
- MARGARITA (10/5): - Clean, quiet, great service and nice location
- Tim (6/5): Awefull food - Breakfast was left over from the day before
- Fred (6/5): - Adequate for overnight on road trip.
- Linda (4/5): - Facility was new, clean and modern.
Check-in was “iffy!” 1) We were asked to leave a credit card deposit of $100 for damages. (The only way this amount was returned to us was by protesting with our credit card company.). 2) We were asked to sign a statement that we did not live within a 30 mile radius of the hotel. If we did, we wouldn’t be allowed to rent a room because those individuals who lived nearby never paid their bills. 3) We were shown a 3-4” binder with all the terrible people that protested charges from the hotel and, again, didn’t pay their bills!
Very unprofessional. Won’t stay there again. Expedia need to re-evaluate this facility as one of their offerings.
- pam (10/5): - breakfast was great.very quiet and clean rooms .i was here years back .emergency alarm buzzed 3 times .now very quite and newly renovated. front desk was great.this will be the place to stop by..awesome!!
- margarita (10/5): - fast check/in max and cliff we great.great breakfast, lots of choices.room were very clean looks like it was newly renovated.pool is close for winter .its cold outside any way .we didn't mind that.has a great time.was perfect one night stay.
- Andrea (10/5): - Sad that there wasn't a pool
- Suzanne (10/5): - Room was clean, comfortable for last minute 1 night stay, albeit expensive
- cynthia (6/5): - Staff was as accommodating as possible. However, difficult to get through to speak on the phone with anyone! Very frustrating!!! The area of hotel location was very sketchy and did not feel safe when walking from your vehicle to the building.
- Theodore (4/5): - The outside property wasn’t cared for. Needed cleaning up and landscaping.
Stayed two nights as it was basically the only place in town. They didn’t make our bed or clean up in the bathroom. All they did was give us fresh towels and that was it.
We did get a descent breakfast, but the people that worked there didn’t seem very friendly.
- Aaron (6/5): stay only if there are no other options - staff was rude and not very friendly. They made it very clear that I was a suspect, even though my room was already paid for I was told I could not have guests and I already told the man I was there for business, but he didn't listen nor care! What if I was visiting my mother, she couldn't come visit me. Seems pretty ridiculous for $200 a night!
- Jonna (2/5): - A friend and I booked separate rooms at this hotel. I had a room with my 3 kids and she had a room with her 3 kids. When we were checking in the hotel owner was so incredibly rude during the whole check in process. And he made sure to ask exactly how many people would be in each room. He told her that only 2 people were allowed in the room she chose because it was only a king bed and a pull out sofa. I questioned him and asked why only two people. More than two can fit in those beds and he got very rude and said only two were allowed. He then asked her how old her kids were and she told him and from that point on he didn’t say a word about her still not being able to take her two other kids in the room also. He acted as though he was changed the number in the reservation. He also told us that we were only allowed to use the front door because the side doors were locked. But we had parked by a side door so we thought we would check to see if we could get in those doors because we had smaller children and had less to walk with them that way. The doors unlocked with no issues with our room keys. We got up to the rooms and one of my sons started showering in my room and I was in her room with the smaller kids and put my 9 year old daughter in her shower so I could help her because my friend had gone back down to the car to grab a few other things so I was in charge of all the kids. Also, it was 9:30 at night and we had been out for 10 hours in the dirt and sun at a dirtbike race.
- Douglas (2/5): - They insisted on an extra $100 security charge which they said would be credited shortly after departure. Five days later we have not received it and have informed our credit card company. They were very rude when I questioned the need for such a charge
- Oscar (10/5): - Good!!!
- Moreno (6/5): - Na
- Dennis (8/5): - This property met our minimum needs. The location, room, and room were fine. Breakfast was average to below average. We ate in town at Ancient Grounds. Checking in and out was slow. Grumpy staff in evening. Ridiculous disclaimer to docment we lived more than 33 miles away. I think this kind of restriction is illeagal.
- Dawn (10/5): - The location was quiet, not a lot of traffic or big city noise. The property is located off of Main Street a fair distance, pretty much out by itself. Ample parking for larger vehicles, trucks, RV's if necessary. Breakfast was plentiful, a good variety to choose from and the items were stocked well. Our room was clean, the mattress and linens were comfortable and the room's heater/air conditioner unit was efficient and not noisy (that is rare!!). Overall, this was a very good choice for our needs in the area.
- Jenilee (10/5): - Very clean. Great breakfast.
- natty (10/5): - very clean and quite property.newly renovated.great breakfast, love it!.room were clean . very comfy beds.
- Stephanie (10/5): - I love the breakfasts!
- monica (10/5): - quick check in. awesome breakfast. front desk was great at all times. newly renovated and very quite. rooms were very clean .great pictures in the rooms. shower head was awesome .
- joseph (10/5): - i love this place .very quite and clean .great service .awesome stay.
- Connie (4/5): - When you check in, you are treated as if you are going to jail. He gives you a list of rules to follow. He actually got out a map to see how far we lived away from the hotel. We came to Aztec to see our son. He was not allowed inside the hotel, no visitors. He came to pick us up for dinner and the man ran outside and told him to leave. It was the weirdest experience we have ever had at a motel.
And it is not pet friendly. We had our small dog and he was trying to deny our reservation. After some time, he let us stay but had to pay $150 extra for our dog.
If you have any other option, do not stay here. The hotel was fine but the manager makes it very uncomfortable
- Cecelia (4/5): - Very clean, quiet, nice rooms. The hotel is obviously very well maintained which is why we returned again from a previous stay several months ago. But this time the front desk was trying to be nice but ruined our check in by possibly being discriminating. Just by walking up to front desk to check in, we were told no friends fr 33 miles away allowed in our room. We were judged for being other. I asked what that had to do with me & my husband? We do not have friends 33 miles away, We had traveled fr Phx (405 mi away). When we were checking in, there were also 2 ladies (caucasian) checking in and they were not told the same thing. We got in the elevator together and they thought the comment was odd.
- jodi (10/5): - had agreat stay everything was great
- sandy (10/5): - i had a awesome stay.everything was great .awesome breakfast .very quite and clean rooms
- Anthony (10/5): - Room was nice/ easy check in /check out but a little pricey for the area…rates were higher for holiday weekend (pretty std yes) but still too high for area
- Jennifer (2/5): - The property was advertised as pet friendly. When we arrived the attendant informed us that our dogs were too big and was very rude and refused us service. They are very well trained, do not shed, and one is a service dog. We were never given the opportunity to discuss this because he was so smug. The property should not be advertised as pet friendly.
- Lynn (8/5): - Good shuttle
- Bill (10/5): - Great stay
- adna (10/5): - quick front desk. front desk staff was very helpful .on top of everything.had a beautiful outdoor pool but due to rain and lightning we could not use the pool.great breakfast .property was well maintained.rooms were very clean.had a wonderful stay
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Room was clean and comfortable. Nice breakfast in the morning. Manager was very helpful.
- Edward (10/5): - Well maintained, close to restaurants and shopping.
- Timothy (2/5): - They promoted the hotel as being 15 miles from Durango. It was actually closer to 50 miles from the center of town. They refused to cancel the reservation after I booked it and also refuse to answer the phone multiple times.
- Lisa (10/5): - Nice property very helpful and kind staff.
- Clayton (6/5): Rude RUDE RUDE!!! - Service was horrible, the check in felt like an interrogation. They must have a problem with locals using and abusing the hotel. The very rude manager seemed concerned that we might sneak someone into the room. The pool was locked up on an August summer hot day when I inquired about it he got mad and threatened to cancel our reservation. If you look at other reviews it looks like they close the pool often, I think just to save money.
- Lynn (4/5): - What to wait over an hour to get into room that was paid prior to arrival
- jimmy (10/5): - Everything was great...very clean...comfortable rooms ..we went to Navajo lake and Durango..perfect location..very friendly staff.had a awesome stay!!
- don (10/5): - great stay everything i was looking forward for on my trip.great breakfast clean room front desk was great very helpful.well maintained and well controlled pool , i didn't mind they locked the pool if it was not used.had a great stay .
- ROSIE (6/5): Very unwelcoming. Will not stay there again. - Room was nice. However, we already paid a high price for said room and then were charged a $100.00 deposit upon arrival. This was not listed or disclosed when making the reservation. I still have not gotten this deposit money back. Person who checked us in was rather rude. Explaining new rules about no guests whatsoever at the hotel. We were just passing through; we didn’t even know anyone in town. That was very odd. We won’t stay there again.
- Andrea (8/5): Aztec hotel stay - Hotel was clean and very nice. The breakfast was mediocre. Hot food containers weren’t replenished so very little to select. When I checked in, breakfast wasn’t even mentioned by front desk clerk.
- Esther (8/5): - N/A
- Alejandro (4/5): - Manager was rude and didn’t seem to want to help.. seemed frustrated. Was told that any family living w in 30 miles of the hotel was not welcomed to visit at this hotel.. very dumb. Still waiting for our security deposit of $100 back..
- C (8/5): - Nice and quiet. Elevators were out while I was there but staff put me on first floor. Breakfast was ok nothing special. Disappointed that they closed up the pool quite early in the evening, I had been looking forward to a swim after dinner.
- Laura (2/5): - DO NOT STAY HERE!!! THEY ARE A BUNCH OF SCAMMERS!!! I wish I read the reviews before booking. This was the closest hotel to Aztec MX which was our reason for booking. The hotel owners are horrible. We booked two rooms with a total of 7 of us staying at the hotel. We had to ask permission to use the pool since it was padlocked. The owners yelled at my two older teen children when they came down to join us and they demanded to know the names of the children and which room they were from. The owner sat outside and watched us the entire time as we swam in the pool. The pool was freezing cold so we used the hot tub which was pretty cold as well. After about 10 minutes, the owner came and turned on the cold water to the hot tub as a sign he wanted us to get out. We were the only people using the facilities. There were only 2-3 other customers there during our stay. Now we understand why. The owners sat in the camera room and watched our every move the entire stay. Very uncomfortable. We also discovered dirty towels hanging on the back of the door upon initial entry into the bathroom in our room. I doubt they clean the rooms or wash the sheets. Then upon checkout, they advised they would return my cleaning/damage deposit which never happened. I had to dispute the charge with my bank to finally receive the refund.
IT IS NOT WORTH YOUR STRESS. STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE. Apparently the mayor is aware of the problems at this hotel and has been trying to get these guys out for a while
- Karen (10/5): - It was a nice place to stay later in the night after a long drive.
- Jean (10/5): - The rooms were exactly what we needed for a short stay.
- MICHAEL (10/5): One night in Aztec - Was a little out there, 11 miles from the main eatery places in the next town over, Farmingdale. Check in was good, a little strange as we were asked about relatives from over there aren’t welcome in the building. Not sure what that was all about.
- Crystal (10/5): Nice property - Check in was easy, the owner is so very nice and takes pride in his property. The beds were the most comfortable and the room was spacious. Lots of breakfast options. All employees were very kind.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Rude - Extremely poor service. Front desk attendant was very rude and condescending.
- Amanda (10/5): - Humble front desk manager great hotel outside of town.
- ruth (10/5): - I was surprised at having a $100 security deposit put on my credit card. Now I wait to see if it will be removed. Wont know for a few days, but have already left the state to continue my travels.
- Richard (4/5): - Manager demanded an additional security deposit authorized on CC??? Have never run into this before. Property was clean and quiet.
- Arlene (2/5): - I booked at comfort Inn & Suites but it was a standard room not a suite. :(
- cynthia (2/5): -
The clerk at check in was EXTREMELY RUDE. He was the same clerk that checked us out and the same EXTREMELY RUDE. I will never stay there again. I will drive to Farmington Comfort Inn before i stay at Aztec Comfort Inn ever again.
- Tonalea (2/5): - Pet friendly it is not!!
- charles (10/5): Good, Very Good! - Clean and quiet. Breakfast starts at 6am and is ready then. Front desk professional, halpful, and friendly.
- Blanche (8/5): - I didn't like that the manger kept asking if we were from Farmington or Aztec. He explained that the will not take in anybody from lose areas due to Vandalism from a previous group .
I kept mentioning that wet here to bury a family member a couple of times.. My husband and I elderly and my daughter came with us
We didn't need to interrogated.
I paid a lot for two rooms with no senior or veterans discount and didn't need to hear all this
On the other hand the other nake employee was very nice. The breakfast was good .
The toilet seat was loose and a yogurt container aat at the hallway window the three days we stayed
Sorry
Also the awards card was never offered.
- Stephanie (10/5): - Always easy check-in and delicious breakfast
- Dave (10/5): - It's all great.
- cooku (10/5): - The room was very nice and comfortable. Really liked how it was set up and the bed was very cozy.
quick check in at the front desk. great breakfast. rooms were very quite and clean.
