The hosts are very kind and welcoming and we felt right at home. I definitely recommend Camillaun Lodge to anyone wishing to explore this part of Ireland.
- Nancy (10/5): - The property is owned by a lovely couple who makes you feel so welcome and safe. The breakfast is the morning is delicious. The rooms are spacious and clean. The town is a five minute walk and is everything you are looking for when traveling to Ireland. Favorite experience my whole trip!

Everything was excellent in a very quiet and well served location.
I would love to go back.

- Carl (10/5): - Our stay at the Camillaun Lodge was wonderful. A beautiful idyllic setting in the woods a short walk into town for pubs and restaurants. Breakfast was terrific and hosts are very friendly and helpful. The perfect Irish B&B experience!
- Clare (10/5): - Really nice people. Great stay!
- Kevin (10/5): Oughterard - In a quiet position but only 10 mins walk down a shortcut. The boat inn has very good food and beer
- cristina (8/5): - Ottima location e gentilissimi i proprietari!
- Caroline (10/5): Wonderful location - The lodge was in a wonderful location. The owner was very pleasant and helpful. The room was comfortable. Breakfast was great.
- William (10/5): - The b&b sits next to a river and is also secluded. Right next to the driveway is a path that's only a short walk into town to grab dinner or to shop. The house, property, and owners are amazing.
- Shefik (8/5): - Family run wonderful lodge. Although a little ran down, had character, well kept surrounding gardens and easy access to restaurants and pubs. Personal care and attention by the owners, and great breakfasts every morning means I would recommend it for short stays.
- Margaret (10/5): Peaceful setting, great hosts - Wonderful B & B. Hosts exceptionally helpful and welcoming. Went to great lengths to help us to plan our time in the area/restaurants etc. Made us feel very much at home in their lovely, spacious home.
At the same time,we felt that we had our privacy. Breakfast was amazing. Located in the countryside but very close to the lovely small town. Good restaurants etc.
Would love to go back.
- irina (10/5): - Nice quiet location
- Colin (10/5): Peaceful, clean and friendly - Beautiful, peacefully property immaculately clean. Lovely warm hosts and fantastic breakfast. Only a short country walk to local village with nice restaurants. We especially loved the games room. We didn't know it is also an angling centre so will make time for boating and fishing next time. It was a great gateway for exploring Connemara.
- Nora (10/5): Just like home from home - Lovely place to stay, lots of in house activities, the jacuzzi was very welcome at the end of the day, very relaxing atmosphere. It really was like home from home.
- Ann (10/5): - We wish we could have stayed longer - truly outstanding!
- Torchy (10/5): - Peaceful setting yet easy walking distance to town and restaurants
- Adriana (10/5): - wonderful stay
- Pauline (10/5): Fab find!! - A lovely warm welcome from Deirdre. Lovely guesthouse. Fab breakfast. Hot tub a bonus. Would definitely recommend. Situated in a lovely town too!
- Joan (10/5): - Nice hotel. Friendly hostess
- Monika (6/5): Gute Pubs mit Live Music zu Fuß errechbar - Die Schiffahrt über den See ist empfehlenswert.Ausgezeichnete Restaurants in 10 Minuten zu Fuß erreichbar.
- Vanessa (10/5): Peaceful stay - Great stay, wonderful location, close walk to town, appetizing breakfast, accommodations were peaceful and very relaxing. We enjoyed boating and fishing on the river and lake.
- Deb (8/5): - difficult to sleep well because bed not comfortable, noisy being on top of garage and hot in room; we checked out early
- Dot (10/5): - The B&B is close to a cute town with good food - there is also a fantastic walking path that is along the river to allow you to quickly get down town. The grounds are cute and lots of walking/exploration near by along the river and lake. The staff was super friendly and breakfast was delicious. Definitely recommend
- JimandJudy (10/5): River side with 5 minute walk to town - Deirdre and Greg are gracious interesting hosts. Delicious breakfast cooked to order. Pleasant surroundings. Great day outings close by. Highly recommend.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice lodge with many amenities. - Very good breakfast and convenient place to stay between Connemara and Galway. Lodge has a tennis court and hot tub!
- Jeanette (10/5): Great host and location - My husband and I stayed here for four nights. We had a clean triple room, which gave us enough space. The bed was the most comfortable that I slept in on our entire trip. The shower was also the best. There are two comfortable sitting areas in different parts of the house. Deirdre, the hostess, makes a good breakfast and had lots of local information to share. A footbridge over the small river adjacent to the property makes it an easy walk into town. We ate at a different place each night: Breathnach's Bar, Camp Street Café, The Boat Inn, and Powers Thatch Pub. Each was different, but all the food was good. This town is a much better base for exploring Connemara than staying in Galway City. We also were able to visit Cong and do a lot of walking there. If you are interested in fishing (we aren't), the Camillaun Lodge would be perfect since it has access to Lough Corrib and specializes as a fishing lodge.
- NATHALIE (10/5): Excellent accueil.
- vc (10/5): - Friendly and helpful hosts. There is a shortcut leading to town that's only a few minutes walk. For breakfast, they have got food items made to order.
- Sara (10/5): Beautiful Irish lakes location. - Lovely stay and delicious breakfast. Fabulous area for exploring wish we had more time to use the facilities. Very welcoming of our dog too!
- Ian (10/5): Trip to Galway - Location is brilliant for touring round Galway. Owners were very helpful and made the holiday special
- Annelie (10/5): Bra boende - Rymliga och bra sovrum och badrum. Stooor garderob med mycket galgar. Många små extra prylar i badrummet. Trevligt läge vid en å. Gångavstånd till stan. Bra boende helt enkelt.
- Kevin (10/5): very quiet and relaxing! - This place is beautiful. It has a very eclectic feel and the furniture is gorgeous. The owners Deirdre and Greg are phenomenal. The boat rentals and fishing trip was a blast. would stay there again without a doubt!
- Lisa (10/5): Feels like home, yet private - This was our very first B and B experience. Much to our delight all trepidations were for naught. What a bedraggled sight were we to behold having gotten lost and arriving after dark. Still Deidre, Greg and Spud made us feel right at home as they welcomed us into their lovely abode. Spud was amusingly vocal as he decided we were friend not foe. Deidre, the consummate hostess suggested we settle in then provided us with tea and cakes which we enjoyed immensely. After a good night's sleep we enjoyed a traditional Irish breakfast and fresh coffee.
- Matthew (8/5): - Would recommend this as a place to stay. Friendly staff, nice room, set back in the country for a nice quiet stay.
- Angel (10/5): Cozy lodge with hot tub and Irish breakfast - We stayed for two nights at the BnB. The breakfasts were great. The hot tub was relaxing. The shower was hot and the room was very clean. The walk to town through the back road had a cozy small town feel. It is close to wonderful pubs, restaurants and shopping. We enjoyed exploring Connemara from this location. We recommend a stay here.
- Not Provided (10/5): Lovely location - The hosts and staff were friendly. Lovely location by a stream.
- Lisa (10/5): Would go back! - We had an incredible stay and the hospitality was unbeatable. The room size was very generous as was the en suite. The house itself was very well fitted with a variety of options for entertainment in tha case that you are unfortunate enough to have very bad weather (as we did one day during our stay). A short walk to town and a close enough drive to Galway. I would certainly recommend the pancakes and full Irish breakfast! Thanks to the owners for such a warm and inviting atmosphere!
- James (8/5): Hidden gem? - Peaceful rural location beside a river, seems wonderfully isolated but in fact is a short stroll to the village
Comfortable room and really good breakfast
- Gary (10/5): Peaceful, calm and welcoming - Deirdre welcomed us along with their pet, Spuddie. We had the first floor room facing the garden. It is a beautiful view! Her husband is a fishing expert and you can hire a boat and go out to the Lough to catch some dinner. After we checked in to our room, we walked along a path into the village. We went to the Greenway Café. Oh my word! you have to go there and eat their Salmon chowder. Best chowder I have ever had. Flaherty's pub is just around the corner and we had a great time watching the all-Ireland playoff there.
We had two wonderful Irish breakfasts the two mornings we were there. I would certainly go back again for a longer stay. I forgot to mention that they have a hot tub too.
- catherine (10/5): - Great location, and a very short walk to village.
- sheila (10/5): Wonderful wet weekend. - Just so peaceful. Shame about the rain. But I will be back. Lovely breakfast, lovely setting, lovely friendly atmosphere.
- Chris (10/5): Top spot, great hosts. - Great spot. If you are a fisherman, don't stay anywhere else.
Great food, hospitality is excellent.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice Stay - This is a wonderful place to stay. The setting is inviting and relaxing. The hosts make every effort to accommodate guests. I will return to fish!
- Aussies abroad (10/5): Fantastic and helpful staff - Enjoyed every aspect of our stay. The "standin host " was very friendly and helpful. Location good, easy walk to village, comfortable room, great breakfast. Would definitely stay again.
- Deb (6/5): Easy walk to village - This B&B is close to village where there is a choice of cafes, pubs and grocery shops. Oughterard is a good location to explore the local area and day trips to the Connemarra National Park for walks, Westport for bike riding and Arran Islands.
- paul (10/5): Great hotel , right on the river - Could not fault it. A great retreat. The staff were friendly and very welcoming. Could not do enough for you. Even offering you a lift into town
