Sean (7/5): I was pleasantly surprised by the friendliness of staff & a comfortable enough stay - We found most of the staff helpful & friendly. The hotel was dated but clean. Even the hallways & rooms smelled clean and not smokey even though we were at a casino. Things could certainly use a refresher of decor & the rooms updated. Additionally we could not find good food there despite all of the restaurants. We didn't try the Steakhouse & that could have been a good meal but instead we started going to local restaurants.

998roxannev (6/5): Smoky - This is a very nice property with several dining options. I wasn't prepared for the amount of smoking going on in the casino. While the facilities were nice, the staff pleasant and helpful, the air quality was unpleasant. I couldn't tell if it was on my clothing or in the room. We had requested a non smoking room. I also accidentally booked our room through Expedia, which I didn't know until I checked on line to reserve a table at a restaurant whose name I was given when I reserved the room, and found that there was no restaurant by that name there. Be very careful when booking a room on line. There was no indication I was booking through Expedia, only the name of the hotel. This is not the hotel's fault, but Expedia using some deceptive practices to sell rooms. Check that you are calling the hotel directly.

Renee (6/5): Won’t stay here again. - The room was clean. The bed was comfortable. Most of the staff was great. Poor lighting in the parking lot to get to the hotel. Needs a microwave to heat food we purchased on site. Needs more than 2 towels, wash clothes etc in the room if we book 4 days. Also extra toilet paper and Kleenex. Asked if I could checkout at 1:55 am because we had to leave at 3:00 am to get to the airport. Worker said no, went back at 3:00 am and she had a sign out to lunch 3:00-3:30 am.

Happiness777998 (2/5): Zero Customer Service - The problem with River City is that somewhere along the line they completely eliminated customer service. On multiple occasions I've been told by frontline staff not to even waste my time with questions about the hard to redeem, deceptive promotional offers. If they can find any reason to deny fulfilling one of their promotions, they will. The "app" doesn't allow you to change your password without being at home and in front of a computer and the app has to be active for you to receive anything. Unless you are "hosted", in the top 5% of gambling losers, they simply don't even make a note about your concerns and they never get back to you. There are plenty of staff, but no one is empowered to do anything but smile.
Evan (10/5): Great hotel for the price - The room was nice and very clean. It had a great rate. The shower is amazing with 2 heads. Instant hot water. Bed was comfortable. There is plenty of room for me traveling for construction work. Restaurants had very friendly staff and great food. Pizza and burgers were fantastic. Very quiet so had great sleep for the next day. Pillows are uncomfortable. There is no option for breakfast until 7 a.m., so I had to find food before work. No freezer in room for my ice packs.

G9127ADwalterj (6/5): Bad communication - I booked my reservation through the Choice Hotel website. There were changes made, but Choice notified me that my Reservation was OK. When I arrived at the Hotel I was informed the Reservation had been canceled. Through work performed by the person at the desk the reservation was revived and given two (2) new reservation numbers. At check out I attempted to give my Choice member number but was told they could not do that! As might be expected, I received no credit from Choice. After three phone calls the problem was solved after I finally told everyone involved how to do it! I would have given a five star had it not been for the lack of communication as the hotel is really nice and my room was excellent.

Asian noodles is a late night place 6pm to 1 or 2 am .. The motel is clean .. The beds and pillows rock ... As for gambling lots of new machines .. Lots of card tables .. What's not to love !!

Giovahna (6/5): Longest check in - Awful check in experience, initially tried to check in at 3:45 (which I do recognize is 15 mins early) was told there was an issue with my room and it was saying on the computer out of service. Clerk said they would text when ready, waiting until about 4:45 to get an eta & was told they technically could take until 6pm but my room would be ready in 45 minutes. Waited for the text notification & came back about 5:50pm - the clerk look surprised and said the room just happened to just become available. When all was said & done got in the room about 6pm (with a 4pm check in time) & was almost late arriving to a show.

The carpet was filthy-doors filthy and walls filthy. I complained for days and told it would get clean and it never was. I was basically gaslighted by this place! I completely disapprove for anyone to stay here. I will never stay at this property.
Faith (10/5): - Whether you are into gambling or not, this hotel is excellent if you are staying in St. Louis! The staff are friendly, professional, and quick to accommodating with whatever you need. The food options are great and the room is cozy and relaxing. In addition, this hotel has free parking; so no traversing through layered garages if you don't want to! (Though it is an option if you so fancy it.)
