Guest Reviews
- Sherri (10/5): - Micheal and Moura were wonderful hosts!
- Gar (6/5): - It was clean but a bit old.
- Rollie (10/5): - Wonderful and kind hostess. Great breakfast. Loved our stay.
- Shawn (10/5): - The owners are so sweet and caring. This place is a great B&B option if you are looking for something quaint and charming.
- Bernadette (10/5): Home away from home - Maura and Michael make a great team. Their home is a home away from home. Breakfast choices are wonderful and you may have some more, if you wish.
- Josephine (10/5): - Sweet and kind owners; simply delightful!
- Julee (10/5): - Absolutely gem! Reminded me of the classic B&B’s-with the best of Irish warmth and charm!! Maura (host) was fabulous, she took excellent care of our family! Room very clean and well kept, and the bed was quite comfortable! Breakfast was so delicious! Eggs were cooked perfectly to order, assortment of breads, cereals, fruit and juice were delicious-and some were homemade! And even found a leprechaun at breakfast! Would absolutely recommend to anyone I know traveling to Ireland!
- Emil (10/5): - A cozy, comfortable oasis amidst stunning Irish scenery. 12 minute walk to the ocean, with stunning sunsets and beautiful surrounding pastures (with curious cute cows nearby to boot). Maura, with 40+ years of B & B experience, is the perfect friendly host. Your stay in the house where she raised her family is a comfortable one. A few minutes drive from Galway, this was a lovely site with a couldn't-be-nicer host. She also makes a very tasty breakfast!
- Richard (10/5): - Great location, exceptionally warm welcome, great breakfast.
Rooms are tired and attention to detail perhaps a little lacking but if you’re looking for value for money, beautiful area, friendly, attentive hosts, and a breakfast second to none, you’ve found it.
Would definitely come here again…
- Douglas (8/5): - Very friendly
- Ana María (10/5): - I like the house and the service by the owners. They were very kind and efficiency. The room and the breakfast was perfect.
- Elena (8/5): - We stayed in this wonderful B&B for just one night. The lady welcomed us with great care and kindness, we even needed to leave very early and she made sure we had everything we needed for breakfast ready, even though it was before the official time. The only two small problems, in our opinion, were the carpet everywhere and the fact that we couldn't open the windows, as we suffered a bit from the heat during the night, but we would still go back if we had the chance.
- Stephen (10/5): Marvellous - Maura was an excellent hostess, looking after our every need. Highly recommend.
- Bryan (10/5): - It was very great
- Kristen (10/5): - Wonderful B&B in the true sense of hospitality. Hosts were exceptional going above and beyond. Beds are comfortable. Rooms all with private bathroom. Clean and tidy and as charming as the hostess. Breakfast was the best and largest meal we have eaten for three weeks in Ireland. Close enough for an easy trip in to Galway.
- Viviane (10/5): Plaisant place and hostess - Very plaisant stay, a particular attention from the hostess, and a very good breakfast. Very calm! We recommand 😀.
- Barbara (10/5): - Good breakfast, pleasant owner
- joan (10/5): - Maura and Michael are wonderful hosts. Breakfast was very good and it was a good sendoff for a full day ahead. Like most B & B’s furnishings are dated, but they are clean and comfortable. We enjoy looking at family photos and learning about our hosts.
- Brenda (10/5): - This was a lovely bed and breakfast in a very quiet neighborhood . It was nice to be able to take a stroll down to the bay . Maura and Michael were very welcoming and were more than willing to accommodate our needs .
- June (10/5): - Beautiful
- Abigail (8/5): - This place has great charm. The room was a little small but the breakfast was stellar.
- Deirdre (10/5): - Charming hostess, great breakfast made to order, quiet peaceful country home.
Would definitely go back!
- Dennis (10/5): - The hostess was very welcoming and accomodating. The breakfast was delightful and the location was just beautiful!
- Katarina (10/5): Mysigt och vänlig personal - Underbar o vänlig dam som hade boendet! Så trevligt o mysigt o bästa tänkbara service! Rekommenderas varmt! God frukost också!
- Nicole (10/5): A pleasant stay - Springlawn is a lovely country home just minutes from the shore. The hosts were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious. Very good value.
- David (10/5): - Great hosts! The room was comfortable and quiet, and the breakfast was delicious. We enjoyed the experience of being in a home as opposed to a hotel.
- Marc (10/5): - The hostess could not have been friendlier or more accommodating. She truly went out of her way to make me feel welcome. Also, this is a bed and breakfast. Due to my schedule I had to leave early. She set up the coffee pot, left juice for me, milk and cereal, brown bread, muffins, butter/jam and fresh fruit - all tastefully presented. Drawbacks - very residential neighborhood. Few choices for dining and those you have to drive to. Everything closed by 8pm.
- Jan (8/5): - Michael an Maura are a delightful couple. The home was very clean. A bit disappointed in the breakfast. At the other B&Bs we stayed at, they had a lovely breakfast bar in the morning, so that’s what we came to expect. The facilities were a bit dated.
Other than that, it was a lovely experience.
- Jake (10/5): - Lovely hosts and comfortable beds
- Abhijit (10/5): - Maura and Michael recreated the old days of BnB where we felt like respected house guests. Room and bathroom were spacious, clean, well-appointed and functioning well. Old world charm in lounge and breakfast areas. Wonderful breakfast selections. Thank you, and live long and prosper :-)
- Tara (10/5): - The proprietor and her husband were so welcoming, friendly and kind. It was just like staying with family. We had a deightful stay.
- eleanor (10/5): WOW! - Great little place to breath and unwind after a day of seeing this and seeing that. Like visiting with your grandparents.
- JP (4/5): A louer si vous n'avez rien d'autre - Chambre petite, sonore et peu confortable. Mobilier défraîchi et lavabo situé dans la chambre. Acceuil chaleureux.
- Emilie (8/5): - Sehr zuvorkommende und freundliche Gastgeber.
Ruhig und erholend,
- Patrick (10/5): - Nice place run by nice people, clean and quiet.
- William Keogh (10/5): A Hidden Gem ! - Maura and Michael were delightful hosts.. they were very friendly and we couldn’t fault a thing about our stay.
Bed was comfortable and our room was spotlessly clean.
We also had a menu for breakfast which was cooked exactly as we asked and it was delicious.
It’s been a long time since we stayed in a B&B and only stayed as hotels were all booked out but after staying here we found it was as good if not better than some of the ( trendier) hotels we have stayed in..
There’s not like the personal touch and that what you get with Maura and Michael as Springlawn..
We highly recommend!!😊
- Wanda (10/5): - We loved everything about this property!! Michael greeted us very nicely. Maura is an excellent host.
- Kate (10/5): - The owners were kind and gracious n it felt like I was at home with friends.
- Martin (10/5): - Michael and Moira were absolutely wonderful 👍😊
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Maura was the best host ever! She is such a lovely person. She called around to see what places were open for dinner, she was just so wonderful. The accommodations are simple but clean and comfortable. The location is great for exploring Galway, the Cliffs of Moher, the Aran Islands, Connemara, Limerick, and I’m sure more as well. It’s a great location in a local, quiet area that really gives you a feel of local living.
- Veronica (8/5): Peaceful - 20 mins out of Galway city, which was preferred as Galway busy and noisy in the evening, almost like Temple Bar Dublin. Not very upto date accommodation, but that is fine, everything worked and was clean, grounds very tidy, breakfast a plenty. Hosts very accommodating
- Gemma (10/5): - We had a lovely stay here. The hosts were incredibly kind, attentive and willing to go above and beyond for their guests. We were given our own space to come and go as we pleased and when it came to the breakfast, it was second to none. Best fry up we have had in a long time (better than the 5 star hotel we stayed at the previous night).
Lovey cute b&b, could not have asked for more.
Thank you for the great stay, Springlawn!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Close to the city, parking on site, very hospitable hosts. Room was perfect and breakfast was great!
- Peter (10/5): - We normally book a hotel for our trips but prices in the Galway area were very high at the time of our visit as there was a music festival in progress. There are just three guest rooms all on the upper floor of the property. Each room has en-suite facilities. Our own room also had a vanity suite within the room. Our room was well maintained and spotlessly clean. The decor is very much in the style of a private house rather than a hotel. Guests also have use of a lounge downstairs with a multi channel TV. You order breakfast the previous evening and specify a time. The hostess offers some delicious varations of scrambled egg as well as a full Irish breakfast.. The property is located in a quiet residential road some distance from the village so a car is essential. We worked out that the best way to visit Galway city was by bus. There is an hourly service on the main road through the village or a better option is the half hourly service from Oranmore which runs late into the evening. Free parking is available opposite the bus stop. There are some very good eating options close by but all involve the need to drive. The hosts are very welcoming and go out of their way to make you feel comfortable.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Really nice place and a friendly couple who run the place. Good breakfast, too. Our only complaint was poor shower pressure.
- Robert (10/5): Galway holiday - Very friendly and welcoming accommodation, nice people.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Was expecting a Farm House on acreage, but found a home in a suburban like neighborhood. Room had 3 twin beds with no floor space. The en suite bath was smaller than a closet. Breakfast of eggs with ham and cheese was scrambled eggs with two thin slices of cold lunch meat and three slices of cheddar cheese. The hosts are welcoming. Decided not to stay a second night, but was charged only €5 less than if we had stayed. Drove north and stayed at The Great Southern Hotel in Sligo for €5 less than a night's stay at Springlawn
- Verified traveler (4/5): Very dated, very small room but friendly staff - The property was very dated and the room too small for a guest room. The bed was very soft and the sink in the room. The 'ensuite' was in a tiny cupboard. Good breakfast and friendly staff.
- Yevgeniy (10/5): Charming B&B with lovely hosts! - The hosts, Maura and Michael we're fantastic and so accommodating. My wife and I really enjoyed chatting with Michael during their delicious complementary breakfast.
The room was quiet, tidy, and had a great view. If we are ever traveling near Clarinbridge we will surely stay here again!
- Geoffrey (10/5): Genuine Irish hospitality - If you want to experience genuine Irish hospitality then give this place a try.not the biggest or modern b & b. But you will be treated as a person, not a customer. Husband and wife team who are warm and friendly always ready to help you with knowledge of where to go and what to see
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Nice B&B close to Galway. Excellent breakfast and very kind hostess.
- Susan (10/5): Great Irish Hospitality - We were given a warm welcome and made to feel very at home. There was a sitting room for our use and the room was comfy with a great view. It was a short but pleasant walk to the sea. Breakfast was delicious and Our hosts went out of their way to help with sightseeing suggestions and advice. It was a great base to explore the area.
- Celia (10/5): Lovely country comfort. - Maura made us so welcome and feel very much at home here at Springlawn B&B. The room was very good and lovely and clean and breakfast was delicious. We ate dinner at Rafterys down the road and it was delicious as well.
- ik (8/5): Very nice place - If you dont bother staying in a rather small room, it is an excelent choice.
- Rosetta (8/5): Welcoming Hosts - Friendly helpful hosts ....who provided a home away from home with delicious breakfasts and useful sightseeing information.
- Mathilde (8/5): Nice stay - Lovely people. Quiet area. We had a nice time
- Rudolf and Helen (6/5): Good location to Galway - We really enjoyed our stay. The owners were very, very pleasant and helpful with travel directions and directions to restaurants. The breakfasts were delicious: full Irish breakfasts or porridge or anything in between. The setting was beautiful, in a pretty neighborhood, close to a main road, but quiet. The only problem was that the shower had mildew.
- Su (10/5): Nice friendly B&B - The B&B was lovely, easy to find and received a warm welcome. The bedroom was comfortable with a good shower. We were offered a choice of room as they were not full that evening. The breakfast was tasty with a variety of food. There was lots of toast on offer, however the cereal and cooked breakfast was enough for us.
- chomet (4/5): felt like staying with an aunt and uncle - The owner was very kind and helpful. The house itself was clean, just a bit dated. The neighborhood is very nice and you can walk to the "beach". The walls were paper thin and we could hear every noise from the next room. Apparently they've been in the B&B business for something like 30 years- but don't think much has changed in that time. Personally I think the price was too high. They were so nice that I don't want to say anything mean- I just wouldn't stay there again.
