Guest Reviews
- Trudy (10/5): -
- IRENE (10/5): The Pridwin is a perfect place to stay & like a little slice of heaven. - From the moment we arrived, we were treated with respect & kindness. The hotel is in a lovely location with a stunning view from the back covered patio & deck. Our room was comfortable and clean. We had a nice view of the grounds, ocean & pool area. The breakfast buffet was simple, but fine for our taste. Chefs were preparing made to order omelets which is what we ordered, along with avocado toast, fresh fruit, & pastry. Nothing. Everything was perfect
- Sue (7/5): Great place lacking trained staff - Great location. Comfortable. Good food. Great vibe Lots to do The staff were disorganized and lacked basic knowledge of the place or customer service.
- Chris (10/5): -
- Concetta (10/5): - Clean room excellent staff
- Demetria (10/5): - The staff was amazing
- Anthony (7/5): -
- Jennifer (10/5): - The Pridwin is a beautiful property with a stunning view and old New England, Americana historic vibe. It is a quintessential experience if you want to have quiet yet convenience to both the north and south forks. The ferry is quick and the island is beautiful and quiet if you go during off season. Lovely long weekend trip for me and my husband. Highly recommend.
- Dulce (8/5): Very relaxing... enjoyed the pool and all amenities. - Excellent breakfast, beautiful location, room was very nice but too close to staff quarters.. Better cleanliness. The Nooks coffee table was not cleaned for 4 nights.
- Paul (10/5): - Shelter Island is definitely a gem
- Caroline Jeana (10/5): - Best resort in the Hamptons / Long Island area! My family and I loved this resort before and after renovations- which are incredible. The staff is outstandingly well trained and so kind. We come to Shelter Island / North Fork annually so we love that The Pridwin has been renewed.
- Richard (7/5): - Location Short on staff
- Jacob (10/5): - Awesome all around! Staff was super nice
- Brendan (10/5): - We had such an amazing stay at the Pridwin! Their staff truly goes above and beyond to make your experience positive.
Phenomenal food/ drinks great views. Couldn’t ask for a better trip!
Can’t wait to go back!
- David (10/5): Midweek getaway - We had a lovely time with our mid-week get away... no complaints! Charming spot!
- Sigalit (10/5): -
- Janice (10/5): Great - Its a great escape with so much to do!!
- Amy (8/5): 4th time there and already dreaming of next year. - Almost everything! Food, amenities, location, decor, bbq, all amazing. The walls are thin, the valet isn’t always available, the pillows are awful, not enough people making eggs at the breakfast.
- Jakub (8/5): - Great location, amenities and overall a place worth to stay at. We found a big cut nail close to our bed and we were overcharged. We contacted the staff at the property and they told us that they refunded the amount, but the money never came.
- Jena (10/5): Romantic - The Wednesday barbecue was so much fun!
- Murat (10/5): - Sehr schönes Hotel mit toller Lage.
Das Frühstück hätte (auch für ein amerikanisches Frühstück) besser sein können.
- Elizabeth (10/5): - Beautifully designed property with several unique and inviting spaces. Very comfortable room and bed and we took advantage of the complimentary use of the kayaks and paddle boards and easy access to the beach. The staff at the front desk and the pool bar were extremely friendly and laid back. Lovely hotel.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Unique place but service too dependent on the individual server or concierge - some are incredible others are too slow and thereby under the level of this kind of accomodation
- Amanda (10/5): Beautiful hotel - Beautiful place
- Velma (9/5): Restful - The Wednesday evening BBQ was great and very enjoyable. Good band.
- Ophelie (10/5): - Amazing
- Beth (9/5): A summer of nostalgia - It feels so nostalgic either the wrap around deck, Adirondack chairs on the lawn, hydrangeas and seating areas throughout the property I liked everything, the staff is all new and needs training. The food at the restaurant is fair at best. I wish the food was better so we didn’t have to leave the property.
- Maria (9/5): Beautiful views, great amenities. - Gorgeous location, nice amenities. The views, the pool, tennis court and beach.
- Jeffrey (6/5): - Some parts of the staff's training were weak. When the person at the front desk can't check in guests - not good.
It was like the parents went out and left the kids to run the hotel!
- Peter (10/5): - Lovely hotel/ resort. Look forward to going again!
- Matthew (10/5): The accommodating staff and beautiful environs made for a memorable experience. - Beautifully landscaped and cared for. Beautifully appointed interiors and exteriors.
- Delaney (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kaeli (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alyssa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Samantha (10/5): Exceptional -
- Michael (10/5): - WELL APPOINTED
- Deborah (9/5): Some problems but staff went above and beyond to correct them. Would come again! - Special wine dinner for Mothers Day was wonderful First night we were in small room by service closet and were up all night with noise! They moved us second night to beautiful room. Also staff a bit unprepared for opening day
- Pooja (7/5): Good - The location and hospitality. The pool was closed - which was not mentioned in their website. It was not value for money for me, as there was hardly any activities. If the pool was closed, they should have compensated the guests - maybe lunch, dinner or even a spa - in some way.
- Melis (10/5): Exceptional - We had the most wonderful Mother’s Day weekend here. The service, food, and amenities were excellent, creating a truly peaceful atmosphere. Being by the water, listening to the birds, and sipping on delicious cocktails was simply priceless. We already loved Shelter Island, but staying at The Pridwin made us fall in love with it even more. It’s the perfect spot for a staycation, especially during the quieter off-season like May!
- Clelia (10/5): - Fantastic property. Rooms are beautifully appointed, decor is super chic and comfortable. Gorgeous views and amenities. Absolutely enjoyed our second stay at The Pridwin!
- PAOLO (8/5): - A nice place for a quiet fall retreat
- william (10/5): - Love it here.
- Kristen (10/5): - Beautiful property and amenities
- Joseph (2/5): Too Bad they empower staff - Terrible staff, no vibe. Embarrassing investment.
- gary (10/5): - Absolutely loved the place we will be back
- Roxanne (10/5): - Beautiful property, amazing amenities! Great location!
- Julia (10/5): - I great place very friendly and family oriented
- Amanda (10/5): - The Pridwin is amazing for a shelter island getaway. The property is gorgeous and the access to the beach and pool, kayaking and pickleball courts leave nothing to be desired. The staff is wonderful and so accommodating. Don’t miss the summer Wednesday bbqs!
- per (10/5): Exceptional place on a special island - A special place run by a phenomenal hospital group. Best room cleaning I've ever seen as well as management and front desk teams.
- Sarah (10/5): - Fabulous stay with impeccable attention to detail and very helpful and polite staff. Beautiful clean rooms.. great little getaway - great facilities for kids.
- Jodi (10/5): - The hotel is fabulous. The setting by far the best. The vibe incredible.
Loved the boat ride, live music, the food is delicious.
Unfortunately we stayed in the main house this time,it is quite noisy as the installation needs to be increased.
The manager of the dining room is nasty and has an angry presence. Other than him your staff is lovely
- Michelle (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tonko (9/5): Superb -
- Maria (10/5): - Beautiful! Lots of amenities.
- Sian (8/5): Very good -
- Marianne (9/5): So very compfortable and relaxing - The staff was wonderful. The facilities exceeded expectation. Absolutely wonderful. We were trying to rent mokes, as our plans for the day were changed. The vendor didn't ever respond back to us, and staff didn't intercede. The front desk employees should be more informed regarding the spa details.
- Lorraine (10/5): Exceptional -
- Beth (10/5): Nostalgic Summer Getaway - So nostalgic and reminisced of my childhood during the summer. Adirondack chairs around a fire or facing the water. Rocking chairs on the sprawling wrap around porch, lawn games, and striped awnings. It was delightful The decor inside is a bit outdated, the carpet especially. They’ve made really nice renovations since the last time I said here and I was very impressed. I wouldn’t go so far as to say I didn’t like it I just think refresh for common spaces would be great.
- Tommaso (9/5): Superb -
- Judith (10/5): - We love the Pridwin! One caveat - the coffee is excellent, but, frankly, the Pridwin is quite upscale (read pricey). Free cofffee would be a lovely, graceful addition to an otherwise magnificent experience.
- Derrough-salas (10/5): Everything was great very friendly staff and very good service. - The location and beautiful views. None
- jacqueline (10/5): Fantastic romantic vacation - It was a fantastic time and room. Gorgeous hotel. Felt like I didn't need to leave.
- Linda (10/5): - The hotel and the grounds are gorgeous. There are so many lovely places to sit and admire the views. All staff were amazing. All were cordial, prompt and attentive. From check-in to bell men to pool staff to dock boys, bartenders, housekeeping, waitresses and all staff were fantastic. Whoever does the hiring for this hotel should be commended! We would love to return.
- Jr (9/5): LOVELY hotel, fantastic staff, and fun amenities! - I love this hotel, the decorations are lovely, the shared spaces are very nice and useful, the pool is fun, and the staff is super kind and helpful. We enjoyed the boat rides, breakfast, the fire pit, checkers, and ping pong. You feel like you are going back in time when you step on property in a good way. This is a super fun place to stay with children. I plan to go back next summer! There was nothing I would change about the Pridwin.
- Kyle (2/5): - This hotel has unethically taken money from me. An authorized reservation was made and I reported it to the hotel and expedia. I got a message saying " The Pridwin Hotel cannot honor your upcoming booking on 6/28/2024
" yet they refused to refund the unauthorized purchase and I have had to take the matter up with my bank as well as the consumer protection bureau. This hotel is a total joke please avoid these theives.
- Jayson (10/5): Exceptional -
- Samantha (10/5): One of the best hotels we’ve ever stayed in - Beautiful setting, great views, nice sized rooms, great facilities, superb attention to detail, truly exceptional staff The fire alarm went off from the shower steam!
- Steve (10/5): Exceptional -
- Thomas (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent location on water, facilities very nicely updated - especially mini split AC quiet
Nice pool area with enough loungers for all
Very freindly/ helpful staff
I don’t usually spring for the cost at hotel but felt it was well worth it considering all the above Wasn’t impressed with food / prices at hotel
- Pablo (10/5): Book it! Worth it - If you are on the fence about The Pridwin or even Shelter Island I hope this reviews tips you to book. My family and I had a fantastic stay. The property is amazing, Shelter Island is great, the amenities are top notch and the overall setting is spectacular but what made it truly special is the service. They could not have been kinder to my daughter and us. They have really outdone on making you feel welcome.
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional -
- Busso (9/5): Superb - Very clean
I stay there before the renovation and it looks amazing
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Excellent Service
- Morgan (10/5): Exceptional - The staff was incredibly friendly, helpful and attentive. They were especially accomodating to our children.
- Sigalit (10/5): Lots to enjoy in this historic and picturesque place. - Its beautifully renovated. Located in a perfect spot overlooking the bay, lots of trees, amazing sunsets.
- Valerie (10/5): - Everything was exquisite!
- Elizabeth (9/5): My siste and I had a lovely end of season trip and the Pridwin was a wonderful choice. - Location was ideal and the room was lovely. It had a view of the water. The outside porch was perfect with a fireplace. The coffee was free. The breakfast was prix fixe. It would have been nice to have a la carte choices.
- Mary (10/5): Loved it. Beautiful, cozy lovely. - The bright cafeteria lights Amat the restaurant for dinner. One 1 main problem was the restaurant that I won’t eat dinner at again. Cold, sterile feeeling with unimaginative food.
- Michael (9/5): Excellent, would go back again -
- Fariba (10/5): - Very elegant
- Raymond (10/5): - What a beautiful property!! Recently renovated and sparkling in every area. Gorgeous light filled corner room facing the Bay. Dining on porch with lovely view and very good food. Lovely staff, though front desk seemed new and not aware of what activities were available, though listed on the welcome letter. Small frustration that the spa was closed as the only masseuse was sick for the whole week. But, hotel's private boat took us for lunch at Sag Harbour, at no charge!? Wonderful and can't wait to return!
- Sigalit (10/5): Beautiful gem in Shelter Island - Beautiful and charming interior design, beautiful views, very relaxing, comfortable rooms. Over priced, expensive to get to (ferry), at this price point they should include breakfast.
- Connor (10/5): Exceptional -
- John (8/5): Very good -
- Newman, (10/5): Exceptional -
- Carol (10/5): The Pridwin is a grrat location for a relaxing comfortable getaway - Pretty. Comforting. Great location Nothing
- Rebecca (10/5): Exceptional - Beautifully decorated (gorgeous!), excellent location (waterfront), a lot of attention to detail, nice amenities (pool, kayaks, bikes, ping pong, tennis). Everything was great!
- Lynne (10/5): - easy access to forest hiking trail and Cackels reserve and beach made easier with the complimentary bikes;pool and sauna were great ways to download after
- Allen (10/5): - It is a beautiful site with excellent service. It is expensive.
- Samuel (1/5): Bad -
- Pablo (10/5): - Recently renovated. Keeps vintage decor around. The concierge promptly addresses customer questions via email. Very relaxing outdoor terraces. Food in general can be improved. Katherine, Loren, and David were amazing. Big shout out. I'm sure I left someone out. Staff is awesome.
- Lily (10/5): Exceptional -
- Robert (7/5): Great - View Sllow check in
- Andrew J (10/5): - Exceeded expectations
- Clifford (8/5): It is a lovely hotel and the staff is friendly, but the staff needs more training and attention to d - The hotel is well designed, furnished, landscaped and is very clean The Staff is friendly, but many are young people here on work visas so often they could not answer questions. Communication in general was not great. We did not receive the printed summary of weekly activities until shortly before we left. The Wednesday night BBQ while pleasant, did not have labels on dishes and there were not enough servers.
- Lisa (9/5): Totally relaxing, comfortable and fun - The entire facility was excellently maintained and service was the key Needed more information about amenities
- Elizabeth (7/5): Good - the scenery, smores, cocktails, pool, lunch. breakfast was not great, sausage cold, service took a long time
- Isabelle (8/5): Cute hotel, nice location, service could be more efficient- overall we would return. - Very pretty hotel and very clean Breakfast price is too high for what it is. Concierge was not really helpful, after receiving tip he never got back to us with our outstanding requests.
We also asked for a baby crib which was confirmed by email but had to wait another hour when we arrived to actually get it.
- Beth (10/5): So nice and charming - Didn’t have breakfast. Location is divine. Staff in dining room brought all food and drinks out at once which for the caliber of restaurant/hotel we didn’t enjoy.
- Mark (10/5): Exceptional -
