• Evandro (10/5): Henry makes the difference - The room is adequate for the price, the bathroom had the amenities for a confortable shower and the location made everything easier, being very close to bus, ferries, local attractions and local food places. The breakfast was adequate for the price paid. What stood out was Henry, member of the staff. He was more than amazing on my stay, giving me advices to eat like a local and even borrowing his umbrella in a rainy day. I will recommend with eyes closed due this member of the staff the stay on the sohotel! He is a superstar on the treatment of the guests!

Väldigt trångt, vi kunde nästan inte öppna resväskan på rummet. Fanns i princip inga förvaringsmöjligheter, några galgar och det var allt. några krokar/galgar för at hänga kappor, klänningar etc hade varit välkommet. Frukosten var lite enahanda, endast diverse bakverk som alla smakade likadant.

• SALMA (3/5): Wouldn't stay there again - - Location: Close to Central and Sheung Wan stations and all main areas to visit in Hong Kong. - One staff member who seems to be the eldest man at the reception was so nice and welcoming. - Cleaning service and room makeup is everyday if needed. - Arrived at 11:30am and checked in, left our luggage, came back at 2pm, we sat in front of them at the reception in the chairs because the woman at the reception said our room is not ready yet. At 2:20pm, a couple who speak Chinese came and they seem to have given them a room. So I asked and she said oh sorry, room not ready yet. At 2:53pm I asked again, she said not ready yet. At 2:58pm, she gave us the room. So we didn't believe the room was not ready and that she just wanted to keep us there waiting until exact check-in time mentioned in Booking. We found this very rude especially when we were extremely tired after very long flights and no sleep at all. - Breakfast is a joke: No cafeteria or restaurant where to eat. You need to choose from some pastries they show you in pictures and they will bring them to the room (so we didn't take the breakfast at all). Extremely uncomfortable to eat in the room. Very small table with no chairs or where to sit and not enough for 2 people. - If you have an allergy, this is not the place for you. A huge pile of dust under the bed. And if you move the curtain even a tiny bit, you see so much dust in the air. So, the stay was uncomfortable for us because of allergy. - Wifi doesn't work in the room. - No soap to wash hands. - Shower door doesn't close properly.

• albanyw2022 (8/5): Excellent hotel in a great location - I’ll first like to express my thanks for the excellent service provided by the male staff member wearing glasses, he was efficient, friendly and went the extra mile to follow up on my request for directions to a nearby restaurant. While the standard rooms are small, they are more than sufficient, while in HK you most likely won’t be spending too much time in your hotel room and would instead be exploring the city or trying the delicious local food. The key is to be smart with using the limited space and to make it work for you. I also found the sound proofing more than sufficient and slept soundly with no issues. The hotel location is excellent, the MTR exit is an easy 5 minutes walk, while there is a supermarket literally across the street. I booked this hotel due to its close proximity to the SoHo district where I like to have breakfast, and also discovered a nice local restaurant on the main road. The tram stop is very close by as is the bus terminus to take you to the rest of HK as well as the airport bus. The hotel is also maintained well and the rooms and lobby area are kept spotless, and I would have no hesitation staying here again next time I am in HK.

• Archie (10/5): A great and memorable stay!! I will definitely go back to SoHotel in Hong Kong - Great location. A couple minutes by foot from the metro and buses that take you anywhere on and around the island of Hong Kong. Breakfast is served to your room and you can modify the menu and the time you want it for. The staff are very welcoming and helpful which was very much appreciated. This is a small detail but if you’re traveling with a big suitcase or a lot of bags, i wouldn’t recommend the standard room as it’s quite small.

Las fotos son engañosas, la habitación más económica no entran ni las maletas y te ves obligado a pagar un upgrade. Esta bien solo si viajas solo. Te avisan al último minuto que debes dejar un depósito de 100usd y es mejor dejarlo en efectivo porque si lo haces con tarjeta el reembolso es casi probable que no lo recuperes.

For those coming from the airport, the a11 drops you off pretty close by, and is a lot cheaper than taking the train. Wifi isn't the fastest, however. One downside is maybe there isn't any laundry that is super close by...

It was a bit too small. There was no room for your luggage even in the superior room. There was nowhere to hang clothing. As a solo traveller it was not so inconvenient but was an issue.

• Maps39201659125 (2/5): Unfriendly to Mainland Guests - I actually stayed at this hotel in June and I left it a good score. I recommended the hotel based on location to my Chinese friend. Due to a typhoon, my friend and I could not make it to Hong Kong and we asked to change the dates. The hotel refused to do this. In my opinion, the hotel has shown their true colors in this situation. First of all, the local government issued a weather warning. Second of all, the flights are not operating. Third of all, we simply want to change the date and the hotel will not compromise on this. They are quite unreasonable and their treatment of Chinese Mainland guests is quite awful. I would not stay here again or recommend it to others in future. To add to my previous stay, there are no amenities in the room. To summarize, the hotel is unreasonable and unfriendly to Chinese Mainland Guests.

Yes, the room is small, but the bed is comfortable, and the location is great for exploring the area. Very friendly staff and quite a lot to see in the neighbourhood. Manage your expectations - I had a double room and it was good for one person. I can't imagine sharing with another person - it would be too cramped. The room would feel cleaner and nicer without the carpet. There was no hand soap in the bathroom.

The hotel is also in a great location with the MTR around a 5 minute walk away, you can also walk to Central and the Airport Express station (around 15 minutes). The breakfast is also great - pastry, fruit and tea delivered to your room in the morning at a time of your choosing! I always stay at this hotel on trips to HK because it's so good.
• Jennie (10/5): Excellent Locat - Overall staff were friendly and helpful. Our double room was slightly bigger than the double bed inside. Three sides of the bed were surrounded by walls and the head panel. That is, one of us has to climb over the other when getting in/out of the bed. The first thing I did was to use the bathroom in my room and found that there was no soap. Told it was regulation in Hong Kong that toiletries and water are not complementary and have to request them from the staff. However, its excellent location, walkable to trams, subways, buses, ferries to surrounding islands and lots of restaurants around trumps everything.

• Tommy (10/5): Incredibly friendly and helpful staff. - Awesome. A simple continental breakfast was a great way to start each morning with a delivery at the same time. The front desk &housekeeping staff were all so friendly and courteous. Honestly nothing. Did everything that I needed really well. The rooms are on the smaller side, but this is to be expected with Hong Kong. Perfect for a solo traveller or a couple.
• Verified traveler (8/5): location & staff, are excellent - Location & staff excellent. room can feel a little claustrophobic, but kind of expected on HKG island. You pay what you get... but here is value for monies. Food & restaurant options are plentiful , whatever your budget. MTR & ordering taxis, is not an issue. i have been regular here, in last six months. i would come to this hotel, again.
• James (10/5): Great little room. - It was compact but had everything needed to enjoy a short city break. The location was pretty convenient. The breakfast choices are all various breads and pastries, so not very coeliac friendly. They added some bananas so my partner didn’t have to step out on an empty stomach. Staff always friendly and helpful.
• D1249ZOchriss (10/5): I would stay again and recommend to family and friends. - I stayed at Sohotel after booking through Hotwire. I highly recommend it ! I booked only three nights, intending to move to another neighborhood, but found that the Sohotel is well-located for walking to SoHo, LKF, and five minutes walk to Sheung Wan metro stop, or the double decker tram line. My room was small but well-appointed, clean, comfy bed and pillows. Couples with larger luggage should consider upgrade to the larger room. Front desk staffers Grace and Linus were friendly and helpful on several occasions. "Breakfast" was very small but adequate. I suggest they add some fruit, like apples or bananas, and a larger teapot. Instant coffee and tea in the lobby would also be a small but helpful addition. Finally, add more English language news channel to the TV would be helpful. CNTN is English but essentially Beijing government propaganda channel.... I had originally booked three nights, but ended up with seven nights at Sohotel because its a great value.

• CHOR YEW ALLAN (2/5): - Old, dirty & small room. Hairs on the carpet, skin feeling itchy after lying on the bed. The breakfast consists of only bread, the worst experience in my life.
• PETER MAN KIT (10/5): - Short walk to all transportation. Room clean. Friendly staff. Overall good stay experience
• Paul (8/5): Hong Kong deserves more tourists - The chinese government is doing all it can to discourage them - generally pretty good for a small (two rooms only per floor) highrise Hong Kong apartment When the fire alarm went off and I was on the 17th floor, a 65 year old with heart and mobility problems I was concerned. When 3 fire engines with long ladders parked in front of the building my fear of what was happening increased. I would not be able to get down 17 flights of stairs. There were no PA announcements at all. No information. The other guest on my floor was similarly concerned but was young enough to get down the stairs. After an hour and a half waiting I had a knock on my door - a chinese speaking maid was delivering my basic breakfast - she was dismissive about the fire alarm - in sign language. I guess that if you are a bit older and may not be as fit as you used to be then you really should rethink about the sort of accommodation that you patronise. As soon as I built up the courage to use the lift I packed up and checked out, earlier than I had previously planned. Not my favourite goodbye from Hong Kong.

• Peter (8/5): Great staff & location - location, staff, room, service ... all perfectly acceptable & of a very high standard. Wish the sliding bathroom-door of Rm 502 was not “too flimsy”. Great value for money, for Hkg Island area. Keep up the good work !
• Krish (2/5): would not stay here - old and uncomfortable bed. room much smaller compared to showed on pictures. no shower stand , had to hold the shower head during showers. not worth it
