Guest Reviews

All in all we were happy.
- Nigel (6/5): - Very interesting probably the most different hotel I have stayed in. Early breakfast early kicking out time. I would stay here again for the food dinner was great and the breakfast even better.
- Cheryl Ann (10/5): - Scenic. Access to nearby National Trust houses.
- Trevor (10/5): Excellent overnight stay - Very pleasant overnight stay. Staff very friendly, excellent evening meal and breakfast.
- Gina (10/5): - Thourghly enjoyed our stay, staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was top quality, Thai curry served in the evening was the best I've ever had. Would definitely recommend this lovely hotel set in such beautiful grounds.
- Myra (10/5): - Where do we start? Great setting. Friendly, smiley and chatty staff. Indoor and outdoor eating facilities. Unique dining pods outdoors and each one designed differently to the other. Rooms spacious. Secluded and sheltered grounds.
- julie (10/5): - Fabulous quirky hotel, restaurant, bar and wedding venue. Had a great sleep, dinner and breakfast in the restaurant was delicious. A great stopover for us on the way to Cornwall
- Carol (10/5): - We have stayed at Haselbury Mill on many occasions and have watched it expand its facilities over the years ,all of which have been in keeping with the Mills character . It is always a pleasure to return , the accommodation is always very clean , the restaurant is good and the staff very helpful and friendly .
- Caroline (8/5): A LOVELY STAY WOULD RECOMMEND. - Pleasant staff and accomodation.Good breakfast excellent variety. Bath too high to climb into however I should have enquired before my stay,so my fault.Bar prices good and lovely surrounding.Didnt use restaurant had no need.Would go back for a break away and a relax.Extra toiletries in the bathroom shampoo & conditioner would have been nice.Heating was excellent, only used when needed,as appreciate costs.Be prepare for stairs if you have difficulty, breakfast room upstairs, beautiful surrounding though well worth the climb for me,as i have arthritis.
- Kevin (10/5): - It was a one night stay to meet my extended family, interesting and quirky surroundings, excellent food. Would definitely go back and would highly recommend. Brilliant.
- Gary (10/5): - Lovely grounds and hotel. Very quirky. Superb food and service.

- Anne (10/5): Lovely overnight stay in the country - I loved my stay here. It was quirky with either the restaurant or pub to eat at. The staff were friendly, kind and amenable. The room was clean, light and airy. They had a 40’s night in the tithe barn and I was totally unaware there was a big event on site it was so quiet in my room. My only disappointment was the site said bath. I only had a walk in shower. I have gone back into hotels.com and it still says bath.
- Richard (10/5): - This is my second stay at Hazlebury - even better than the first - great staff, homely, amazing breakfast also!
Always good having a walk round the grounds and seeing the vintage vehicles which as an enthusiast myself is heaven!
Can’t wait to come back soon. 5 stars in every way.
- James (10/5): - staff very friendly and welcoming
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good hotels in the area - Went on a business trip. Good ambiance, good breakfast and friendly staff.
- Jenny (10/5): - Went for the Ukulele festival, excellent staff, had the Lakeview room, lovely room quite large, only 2 of us but room for a few more only problem I found was the amount of stairs as it is at the top of the Hotel, getting to old for all them stairs, will request a lower floor room or one in the outbuildings next time.
- Geoffrey (10/5): - Very pleasent stay quirky which I like and staff really helpfull.
Breakfast really nice.
- Meris (6/5): - It was a very lovely place to stay very quiet but in the morning probably they fertilized the soil and for me it wasn’t pleasant
- Simon (8/5): - Great evening meal. Great venue.
- Ann (8/5): - The food in the restaurant was very good and in a very pretty setting
- Lisa (10/5): - Burrow hill cider excellent
- Ann (8/5): - Room comfortable Restaurant food very good. Interesting outbuildings and grounds. Would stay there again.
- Vanetta (6/5): - There was a show in the grounds, lot of noise, not what we expected. We were not notified. The restaurant was closed as a result, again not what we wanted. All disappointing. The mill has great potential but far too commercial for a peaceful weekend away.
- Lynn (8/5): Great find - We had an amazing couple of days breakfast was lovely apart from sausage could have been warmer also the coffee but other than that it was fab had dinner on both nights also very nice we will return
- Deborah (10/5): - we thought the location was good,The surroundings lovely,The staff made you feel at ease as they were very friendly and helpful. The room was lovely and clean.
The food was good it was lovely and quiet
- Rachel (8/5): Warm and welcoming staff - Very welcoming and friendly. Accommodated our needs and were understanding of our dogs needs too. Service was efficient and food very tasty. Could do with a plug closer to a mirror so that hairdryer use is easier xx
- Mike (10/5): Great stay - Such a lovely night the accommodation was spacious, good and clean, the food was great and the service all round was fantastic - highly recommended
- chris (10/5): - Interesting location with lots to see and nice grounds to walk around.
- Christine (10/5): Lovely ambience - Beautiful place. Tranquil. Comfortable room, very clean. Friendly staff. Nice food.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Evening food was nice and good value for money. Staff were helpful.
Room and bed was comfortable but there was nowhere I could dry my hair near a mirror.
The plug socket behind the TV which would have accessed a mirror was inaccessible. While trying to resolve this issue I came across a lid from a food container which had been left behind. I think the staff are stretched so perhaps dont have time for final checks.
- ANDREW (6/5): - Not too bad, but don't think it was worth north of £100 a night. Restaurant quite expensive.
- Rawdon (6/5): - Although we were quite pleased with the initial site and position of the Hotel we looked forward to the 4 nights that we had booked.
we were told on booking in that because of covid restrictions a full room service would not be possible, it turned out this was non existent we had to fetch everything from reception including toilet rolls, when the bins started to overflow I had to find refuse bags and empty the bins myself. I realise we are in the middle of a pandemic but the service we received was well below the standard we expected.

- Jules (10/5): - Really enjoyabke
- R (10/5): Excellent stay - Very friendly staff, perfect for us having a german shepherd in tow! Able to take her to the bar and restaurant.Food excellent.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Such a lovely place to stay! Nice location and friendly staff, plus good breakfast!
- Chris (10/5): Fabulous second stay! Will be back soon! - Second time at Haselbury Mill and lovely to be back! Fabulous team that look after you and great food! Lots of outdoor space and tables to have a great time. Fabulous value and they love dogs so we can stay with our two! Good location to explore Somerset and Dorset!
- MR RONALD G CHARBONNEAU (8/5): Great choice. - Pleasantly surprised with this quirky location.
Had Dinner, Breakfast and Lunch and all meals were above expectations
- MrWolf (10/5): - Our 3rd stay at this excellent hotel in a lovely country setting. Great food, comfortable rooms and friendly, helpful staff who go out of their way to make sure you have a memorable visit. One of the very best hotels in the South West.
- Dusty (2/5): Iss sold polished turd - My wife and I booked a superior double through the hotels listings. The pictures showed 4 poster beds, a bath in the room and amazing river and lake surroundings but the reality was very different. On arrival we were shown to a granny flat at the rear of the property that was rundown and miserable. On complaining we were taken to a slightly better property in a house close by. It was advertised as dog friendly, with breakfast for our dog but nothing was offered or given to our dog until the chef thought our pet was cute and gave him half a sausage.
- Jean (10/5): Visit to Somerset - All very good
- Phil (10/5): - Beautiful setting combined with real English quirkiness
- Monica (10/5): - Grounds were spacious and well maintained but the 'lake' was disappointing. Venue better in summer than in winter as most 'communal space' is outside. Staff most obliging and helpful. Bedrooms a decent size so you do not feel cramped.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Fantastic Somerset Getaway. - Great escape from London for the night. The room was a perfect blend of traditional and modern, the surroundings were gorgeous as you’re in the heart of Somerset, service was friendly and welcoming, breakfast was awesome. If you want a one stop shop for a relaxing getaway, this is it as they have a pub and restaurant on site. We’ll be back!
- Alistair (8/5): Quirky and interesting retreat - We knew this place would be different and it is. It's a nice place to sit outside and enjoy the quiet countryside. It is comfortable and the food is very good too.
We had a family room which was comfortable but not as up-market as the photos of the deluxe rooms, bit for a one night stay was not a problem.
There were two wedding receptions in-flow when we arrived but made little different our stay.
- David (8/5): Quirky place with welcoming and helpful team - Strange times to be staying in a hotel. The room (a few cobwebs aside) was clean. The staff were polite. Breakfast was delivered to the room which was very nice and expedient. The place is pretty quirky. I'm not sure I really get the theme(s) but appreciated a night in a warm bed.
- Malw (8/5): - The showers were fantastic big, hot and i didnt want to get out.
Walls very thin and noisy neighbours woke me at 05:30.
- Patrick (8/5): ice venue - Interesting venue with nice food choices. Covid prevented us visiting the onsite pub , but we enjoyed the garden for drinks
- Gary O. (8/5): Excellent - Lots of facilities catering for all
- Verified traveler (10/5): Excellent - Excellent, will definitely book again.
Room was comfy, staff extremely nice, polite, helpful and attentive.
Food was superb
- Muhammad (8/5): - a good trip
