My third party reservation never got there but they made every effort to get us a room and they were super friendly about it. We had a king room with a couch. The location of the TV was very awkward to watch from the bed. Also I did not like that it was a Starbucks bistro for breakfast. I did not realize it was not a free breakfast and Starbucks is super expensive.

- Morez (2/5): No thank you!! - Very expensive for a breakfast sandwich. Our room was booked as a handicap room. There was nothing indicating that it was a handicap room. The toilet was low and there were no bars for helping. The shower was lacking any bars except one. Managed with a cane, however, will never go back. A wheelchair would never fit.

- Edward (3/5): your people were great , the room was nice , your sinage is lousy - I can tell you what I didn't like we rode around Portage for 3hours trying to find the hotel at night asking multiple people where you were they looked on computer and cell phones we tried calling it wouldn't go through finally someone told us it was behind a restaurant your sign is black and not light great for out of towners at night I told you above and we have traveled many years but never had to paid for breakfast in a upscale hotel

Friendly staff. We booked this hotel strictly for the restaurant in the lobby and for the pool/ hot tub for my son. The restaurant wasn’t open on a Saturday night so we had to leave in the bad weather to go get dinner and planned to use the hot tub/ pool area Sunday morning before our noon check out time, the pool was closed for “cleaning” until after 1PM. When it was closed all night long so they had time to clean it then, So we only got to use it for the one day and not two when we paid strictly for these. That’s the reason why MOST families book hotels..

The entire surface was covered with something sticky and the air vent was completely covered with hair and dust. The hallway by the elevator on the 4th floor was very dirty. - Cheriees (7/5): Overall pleasant and modern, but the facilities should have been cleaner. - I attended a training held onsite. The staff was very nice. The bed was comfortable and it was a nice, modern room. The shower head was amazing! I was 10 minutes late for my meeting, because I chose to stay in a little longer. The room wasn’t nasty, but it wasn’t clean either. The sink still had dots of toothpaste and hair in it, which set the tone that the bathroom was glossed over and not actually cleaned. I mentioned it to the general manager, but even after she left a note saying it was re-sanitized….it was exactly the same. The seat of the toilet appeared clean, but the base had streaks that were definitely NOT water. The shower was wiped down. There were filmy smudged marks. That is not the way a bathroom looks when cleaned properly. The ice bucket and coffee pot were dusty. Overall it looked like a rushed job. I understand that staff has limited time, but cleanliness is important and germs are real. I also notice the microwave in the snack room was filthy. I cringed even though my food was in a closed container.

Because I have celiac and have to eat gluten free we always need to travel with food for my diet. If you require refrigerated foods I would recommend bringing a cooler if you are staying more than overnight. The refrigerator is very small.

The pool was not clear (could not see bottom) and there was candy at the bottom and the water was salty and weird. Granted it’s a hotel but there were loud teenagers going up and down the hallways and upstairs. I wouldn’t book again.

- lannanchristensen (2/5): TERRIBLE MANAGER - The management is so unprofessional and made dealing with this hotel a nightmare. Stay at Hilton or anywhere else! The manager is rude and said her employees would never make a mistake, they did and it cost us!! Our family stays in hotels very often and this is then worst experience we have had! Do not stay here!!

- Karolyn (8/5): Bathroom only complaint. - My biggest complaint is the shower. The bathroom walls were dirty, which personally grosses me out, but the shower didnt drain and I hate it when the tub fills as I shower. If were were there for another night I would have needed to change rooms. We had to wait between showers, which put us behind schedule for the day.
- Sheryl (10/5): Great quiet and friendly stay - Everyone we encountered from front desk to cleaning staff were friendly and efficient. Very nice and quiet, and the woman at the front desk even asked if we wanted fourth floor as there were kids teams on the other floor.

- Chris (4/5): - First after check in find out the Elevators are down, then booked this hotel because of the pool, and the pool was closed due to it being dirty. This was a huge let down for the 2 girls that I had with me they wanted to go swimming. Not what I was looking for at all.

- Binglai (4/5): - The property lobby was getting a renovation so not too many options for snacks and foods even though there were 3 free baskets of chips - the bathroom sink drained very very slow. The worst thing was at 9:45 am, the cleaning person banged on our door and proceeded to try and enter our room. Check out was at noon. Super strange and rude
- Nan (2/5): - We did not stay here due to our athletic event in Kalamazoo being canceled due to weather. I tried to cancel our reservation and were unable to do so. Even though we tried to cancel our reservation over 24 hours before check-in, the general manager refused to lift the penalty.

- Nancy (10/5): Marriott Courtyard Kalamazoo - A great choice! - From the moment we arrived until we checked out at the Marriott Courtyard Kalamazoo/Portage hotel, Front Desk Agent Ryan provided exceptional service! He was friendly, helpful, and accommodating! He offered us the “special of the day” to take to our room, which was a delicious slice of German chocolate cake, and told us there would be popcorn available in the lobby during the night - great touches! Our king room was spacious and clean - housekeeping staff is very thorough! A few things needed attention; the remote control batteries needed replacing, there was a crack in the bathroom sink stone countertop (was sharp to touch), and the sink and tub drains lacked a stopper. The bed was fairly comfortable, but for the upscale pricing the room and hotel overall could use updating soon. The gym, pool and hot tub area were nicely set up with towels and a shower. The hot tub was a little cool (about 95 degrees) and it foamed a little, but the pool was a comfortable temp. Both the pool and hot tub were very clean and sanitary, although the flooring throughout the room needed cleaning and hosing - there was a lot of debris for bare feet. Overall, if I were to return to the area again I would definitely book at this hotel if the price is right!

- Amy (2/5): - There was no bed left on the pull out so I had to buy a blow up mattress plus pay for the room. No breakfast and the ala Carte food was expensive. Also my credit card has been charged multiple times and my credit card information was stolen. I called to solve the problem and was told oh well nothing they can do.

- Cave_liberator (10/5): Great place to stay - This hotel is minutes from the airport and right next to the interstate. The hotel looks new. The rooms are spacious the service is great, and the rooms have comfy beds. Very clean. There are plenty of places to eat near by as well. The breakfast could use some real cooked food, not previously frozen. Other than that, it's a great price point and nice place to stay.
