Guest Reviews
- Kali (1/5): -
- Jordan (1/5): - Nothing they canceled my room and still haven't refunded my money this place will steal from you
- Todi (7/5): The staff were very friendly and accommodating. - The room was nice. It was clean and comfortable. I work night shift and it’s too close to the main road so I was awakened daily by emergency vehicle sirens. But I also live in the country so I’m not used to hearing them so close.
- Decymbr (1/5): This stay was horrible and I would not recommend this hotel. - Genuinely nothing. For starters the 1 staff member is rude and he unlocked the door and tried to come in twice saying he had to inspect the room. Second the room door does not lock properly it’s hooked up to an exposed battery pack? and the deadbolt doesn’t work at all like it’s been jammed. Third the room flooded all the way out of the restroom into the room when we used the shower like all around the bed and all the staff guy said was here’s a mop I’ll get it back in the morning. Not to mention all the little stuff like no towels, he gave us 1 toilet paper roll for 9+ days and when we would ask for stuff he was rude, the room was dirty when we got here two dead roaches and the counters looked like they had not been wiped down plus the WiFi doesn’t work at all and we had to throw our own trash elsewhere because there’s no trash can or dumpster anywhere near and no house keeper came to clean, plus the random knocking on the door at all hours of the day and night and the really loud construction in the room right above us that we were not notified about. We paid almost 500 dollars and it was not worth a single penny.

- Krystal (10/5): The workers are so nice to me and my kids I love everything about them - I love everything about the property nobody mess with you or anything it’s not lord at all I love everything about staying here. The only thing has I had to clean my own room and I first booked with them. My room was not clean at all it took me all day to clean my room when I had first got there it was so nasty but it’s okay because I keep
My room clean all the time
- Krystal (10/5): - Nobody was never outside or they didn’t bother you or be loud The rooms are not clean but I love to
Clean so I did it
- Matilda (10/5): - Loved the interior design choices. Perfect place for a relaxing getaway. Slept better here than at home!
- Matilda (10/5): - Everything was nicely organized and clean. Everything exceeded my expectations.
- Zahra (10/5): - Such a cozy place with a warm atmosphere. Everything from check-in to check-out was smooth and pleasant. Absolutely loved the stay — rooms were spotless, and the staff were incredibly polite. A great experience overall.
- Lydia (10/5): - The ambiance here is amazing. Calm, clean, and perfect for a weekend getaway or work stay. Peaceful environment, beautiful décor, and very comfortable beds. Slept so well.
- Cap (7/5): Quick cheap, value stay for very short time - Good value Facility is old and not kept up
- Tammy (6/5): - Not pet friendly, crickets in the room, dead but still, and more in the morning.
- Jesus (1/5): -
- Shelly (6/5): - I was given a key to an already occupied room. Then when I went back to the lobby the host did not apologize; he gave me a second floor room instead.
- April (4/5): Bad motel - Refrigerator doesn't work properly
Room needs to be updated
Bed is too hard
I was forced to climb stairs when there were rooms available downstairs
The hotel is very outdated
Sheets are stained
Towels dont match
Sink faucet is broken
Mirror is cracked
- Tykia (1/5): Dirty, smelly, outdated, - Absolutely nothing It was horrible!
- Johnny (2/5): Not my cup of tea - This place is more about extend stay, first thing my wife got a pickled thrown at her and the rooms were not worth the stay. We did not stay there we left that night and drove home, do to the feeling of unsafe
- Elisa (4/5): - It smells and is very dirty
- John (2/5): Worst place ever. Don’t stay here…you’ll regret it - I wouldn’t suggest anyone staying here. The hotel service was horrible. You can’t get anyone on the phone. The front desk doesn’t answer the phone, and when you leave a voicemail- they don’t call back. It’s been 3 days & still no call back. I paid for the room & they didn’t have my reservation & wouldn’t refund my money when I could t stay there until I threatened to call the police. Without a doubt, the worst place ever.
- Cody (2/5): - They took out .money for a booking and then when we got there they said they didn't have our booking and that they didn't have no rooms.Terrible staff and I will never ever try and stay there again and I recommend that y'all don't either.Im highly pissed
- Allred (8/5): Not professional - The bad part is i made reservation an they didn't have my room for me and told me they didn't have one and when i showed them my reservation was made they put in in a room but told me they were going to move me to a different one so this was not good after your long trip so i didn't bring my bags up to the room, time went by an nothing so i went got my bags so that i could get showered and relaxed. They ended up letting me stay in that room because rhe one i reserved was not available for me
- Russell (10/5): Exceptional -
- Megan (8/5): Only thing in town - Great customer service
- Colton (2/5): Room service smokes weed in your room - Bed sheets had hair and other material when we first walked in.
Room service smoked weed in our room, took out smoke alarm and left burn marks on our bed. Shower didnt drain properly so you were left with a tub of water, couldnt switch faucet from shower to tub either. Sink was not mounted so everytime you went to use it you lifted the entire device out off the sink.
Oh AND WHO STILL HAS BOX TVS?
- Jose A (10/5): - Hotel is good and very clean and their staff is very reliable and professional I highly recommend it

- Jose A (10/5): - Hotel is good and very clean and their staff is very reliable and professional I highly recommend it
- Catherine (2/5): - Hotel doesn’t look to bad on the outside, but once you open the door it looked old, we gave it a chance because there is not another hotel close enough to job site. Mattress is from the 70’s and you feel all the metal in the bed, bottom sheet was stained and had holes in it, NO tip sheet, itchy old 70’s bedspread that again was holy! Thankfully I brought house shoes, the bottom of them is black from the floor. I had to clean the toliet seat with a towel and the towel showed it had not been cleaned in maybe years! Woke up and can’t breath, and after some investigation I found mold on ceiling in cracks. Besides being quiet this has to be the worse hotel stay ever! Oh and there is no working smoke detector! The owners are NOT American, and should be ashamed to have rented the room to anyone! Idk how the hotel passes fire and safety inspections! Avoid this place if ya want do not want to have to take a decontamination shower when you leave! Will NEVER stay at a OYO hotel again! No tv, no WiFi, no ice, mini fridge was working but disgusting, I was afraid to open the 1970’s microwave…….
- Larry (2/5): - The rooms are not like the pictures on Expedia. They fixed one room up to use for pictures. They had no wifi, no cable, the TV had no reception of anything. No smoke detector, no exhaust cover, the tub had mildew from one end to the other, stained sheets. You can not go into the office have to use a side window. Can barely hear or understand what they saying. This is classified as a Hotel, it’s more of a Motel.
One night is enough. Never again!!!
It shouldn’t be on Expedia.
- Jeffrey (2/5): - Has nothing to offer. No wifi cable tv. YOU find out when you get there. Had to find a another motel. Take these people off the list
- Clyde (1/5): HELP..PLEASE..SOMEONE ..PLEASE HELP! - They said they would tell booking.com I could have all my money back because of mt sons mental disorder I could not stay without the cable and wifi they advertised they did have on booking.com. but indeed they did not have!!
I have emails assuring the return of all my money from OYO. Booking.com took all the money out of my bank account and I have not heard from anyone since nor has the money been returned to my account..I am on a veterans disability fixed income taking care of a son with a mental disorder..this incident has placed me in a terrible position..
- Sandra (2/5): - There was no toilet paper and it was really dirty
- James (2/5): Nasty - The rooms were nasty. Pulled the sheets back on one bed and there was hair all in the bed. Pulled sheets back on second bed and there was blood on the sheets. Room stunk and definitely felt so uncomfortable there that I didn’t stay there. I went down the road and got another room
- Steve (2/5): Do not stay here - Terrible, dirty and falling apart
- Sandra (4/5): - No TV, no internet, mattresses where hard as a rock. Nothing unique at all
- Elias (1/5): Bad - Bad!!! Bad!!! Bad!!!
No cable,
No wifi,
I had forgot something in the room in the morning . I tried getting another card to enter the room . No one at the front desk. It had a paper with a partial # for us to call incase of help. The phone that was outside the office had no servic3. Couldn't even call thru my own phone because I had to take my time to guess what the last 3 digits of the phone # it was. I had to end up leaving part of my belongings, I was already running late
- pedro (2/5): - All that needs this property is a better sanitation, cleaning specially the bathroom.
- Jesus (2/5): - False advertisement, nothing how it looks online, no cable or wifi.
- Ashley (8/5): - No WiFi no cable no discount because of this
- Gabriela (2/5): - No tv or internet working.
- Michael (2/5): - Drove 500 Mile called to check on my room and to let them know we were on our way . Them Min the gentleman that answer the phone told me my room had been cancelled due to unforseen circumstances and then had the nerve to tell me I would not get my money back for 7 to 14 days after I was told that they would not take it off my card till I got there. I don't recommend they to anyone and I am surprised they. Expedia would allow such disrespect to people..
- Megan (1/5): Bad - They have bed bugs
- tracie (2/5): - NEVER AGAIN WILL I LOWER MY STANDARDS, THROW THE WHOLE ROOM IN A PIT OF FIRE!!!!!!!!
- D5865QCcaseyh (2/5): Run!! Dirty Scam Motel! - Run!!!!!
Choose a different hotel choose and a different location. Whatever you do not book with this hotel.
This hotel is a SCAM!!
Do not do it!!!
Not worth it!!!!!
This OYO made me lose over $400 out of pocket
Hotel does not have any of the amenities:
NO cable
NO WIFI
Very run down and dirty
Hotel will do nothing but give you a generic customer service number to waste your time.
They will cancel your room and then tell you to call customer service and then give you a runaround for two hours and then tell you that you can rebook the room at Three times more.
We didn’t find out they cancelled our booking until we drove 10 hours and were at the front desk to check in.
They literally told us they cancelled the booking due to the difference they could make booking it with someone now (we booked a month in advance).
Seriously DO NOT BOOK HERE!!!

- Lavada (2/5): - Got to hotel to check in, they give me a room with one bed whe i reserve 2 beds. Checked room and informed the clerk that it was dirty. Trash on the counter no phone in room no cable no wifi ni hot water and were not taking credit cards. The clerks excuse was that she just come on duty at 9pm....it was now 11pm. Next day they take our towels dont clean the room again. Dont replace with clean towels or toilet paper. They rolled their eyes at us anout everything i will never stay here again.
- Garcia (5/5): Passable -
- Anne (2/5): - Nasty dirty will never stay again
- April (8/5): - Its was very quiet and relaxing, not to much traffic or noise,
- Sandi (2/5): - Besides the fact that i came home with bedbugs...there were dead crickets and roaches, sink and tub drains all drained slow, someones underwear in the parking lot, dirty/stained towels, stained mattresses, no bath mats, I could go on but you get the picture. We were limited on stay options bc of the festival in Mexia. I will never stay at another one of these no matter what the situation is or how limited ny options might be. Front desk lady was so sweet. They either do not have the money to keep up with repairs (missing all baseboards in ny room) or just don't care.
- Matt (1/5): Dirty room with indifferent management - Not really anything. Found a used condom and wrapper, a wallet, dead bugs on floor, dirty sheets, used soap in the bathroom. She also squished a bug on her filled with bright red blood (bedbug?). Manager was indifferent and just said they had no other rooms available and that if we wanted our money back we'd have to contact booking.com. Mom ended up having to just wrap up in the comforter to sleep since the sheets were filthy.
- Anonymous (9/5): Superb -
- Chris (2/5): - The bed sheets where dirty the room hadn't been clean we went to see about it they told us we could leave
- Stana (5/5): Better than last year as far as remodeling but rates are increasing and cleanliness still an issue - convenient improvement to room from last year but floors were dirty, bathroom deplorable, a shame not much hotel selection in small town. cleanliness doesn’t cost much the least even in a reduced rate facility should be clean
- Kiley (7/5): Good -
- Rodney (2/5): - The room had no telephone or alarm clock to set a wakeup call. Neither the sink or bathtub had stoppers installed. Therefore you cannot take a bath (shower only) or wash your face in water. The refrigerator had no water or drinks to purchase. The TV controls were poor and you had to trick them to get reception.
The front desk was not open, to talk to someone you had to go to night window and knock on glass.
offsetting rooms and above rooms had poor sound control and it was noisy .
- Horn (1/5): Just horrible - No breakfast and I loved the location The room smelled mad. The floors were sticky. The bed was hard like a rock didn't get no rest and the shower head was coming out of the wall. The bath tub was nasty and the towels and sheets was stained.
- Karen (3/5): Poor - Lady at check in was nice. The outside of the whole place is impressive looking. Old & worn. Stained sheets & pillowcases, old yellowed bed spread, security chain missing on door lock, foil in hole where smoke alarm was hanging, curtains half on...at least the 2 roaches I saw were belly up, so we slept & went to the next place to shower.
- Coretta (4/5): You Get What You Pay For - The room was not clean at all, the tub held water and the toilet was absolutely discussing from top to bottom. Dead bugs on the floor, spider webs in the corner of the bathroom. The family that stayed up above us had a bunch of kids that stayed running around in the room, dropping things on the floor. I am a nurse with agency and worked 12 hours at night so I couldn’t get any rest. The price was reasonable.
- Beatriz (5/5): Very basic, cheap, quiet motel - Inexpensive accommodations when compared to prices in bigger cities like Waco in summer 2022. I would describe it as a very basic motel that provides a shelter/bed for travelers on the road. It is not a place to stay at for multiple nights. If you just need a place to sleep and do not feel like camping, stay here. It was surprisingly quiet, despite being on a busier road. Incredibly outdated accommodations, bathroom cleanliness fair with cosmetic repairs needed (loose toilet seat, rusty door hinge, lots of black mold spots and missing grout throughout). Bring your own towel if you can.
Poor customer service: Guy at front desk acted as if he had been woken up from a nap at 8pm; he acted as if he hated his job; he really resisted giving out a password for wifi, despite the free wifi advertised.
- Currie (6/5): Pleasant -
- Verified traveler (4/5): - need new towels, showers are dirty, toilet is a rocking chair, bed bugs.
- Javier R (2/5): - Uncarpeted room. Dirty under both end tables besides bed. One big towel only with a one foot black stain. No iron and ironing board, coffee pot, ice on ice machine, closet and clothes hangers and especially, no continental breakfast.
- Tanner (2/5): Oyo should be rename ONO - I will let the pictures speak for themselves
- Crystal (2/5): - Don’t waist your money it’s dirty and noisy
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The room would have been okay if it was cleaned. The bed was made but everything else in the room was filthy.
- Carolyn (2/5): - Walls were dirty..the floor had dead bugs on it. Looks like they did not mop the floor before my arrival. Will not stay here again. Some of the wall outlets did not have a cover plate on it.
- Joshua (2/5): - Ended up not even staying due to it not being what I thought it was.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - i did not stay at hotel it was the wrong hotel and it was in a terrible area and not covid safe
- Verified traveler (4/5): - No towels or wash cloths were provided 2 out of 3 nights.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The room was never cleaned prior, front desk didnt care, 2 grey towels, no toilet paper. The worst
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great place which we enjoy so much
Front desk was wonderful with the service
We love it and hope next year we will there again
Good job
Thanks
- Michael (2/5): - The room was dirty. Cigerellos were left in toilet as well as room. Loiterers all outside. Left and went to another hotel.
- MPTNestER (2/5): Beware. Do not give them your credit card info - I have cancellation and refund confirmation emails from 11:32am. I cancelled we’ll before the 6pm deadline. The hotel will not refund 172.05 and is saying I didn’t cancel before 6pm. This is a deceptive trade practice and consumers are being harmed. I sent every communication that I have to my cardholder today and will fight this to the end. Consumers please do not give this hotel your credit card information. Stay somewhere else.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - It was just ok. Nothing fancy. Felt fairly clean but the bathroom grout and tiling need a severe cleaning with bleach and or replacement very badly. Am updating is in order.
- Sarah (10/5): Clean room. - The non smoking room was definitely a much better one. Much cleaner and nicer. Definitely comfortable. No problems at all.
- Christine (10/5): - Staff is friendly at check-in. Room is spacious and the price is great! Bed is firmer than I'm used too but I slept amazingly
- Riley (8/5): - Checkin staff very helpful. Lisa checked our room and wiped clean one more time and very friendly and knowledgeable of what the city has to offer. Pets were welcome! Very quiet. Ice machine available and vending machines. No coffee pot however in room. Bed comfortable and air conditioning very cold which we loved. Thanks
- Robinette (8/5): Waco - Very nice older hotel, newly renovated. Still needs some minor work. Like up graded TV's, Phones hooked up, internet and cable Tv are spotty at best. But was perfect for what we needed and a great price.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great place.....good staff ..lisa dos a good job there ...shes the backbone in groesbeck tx oyo hotel
- Rikki (8/5): - Service was excellent, staff was very friendly little dirty but ok for the price. Ill be back...
- Jerralee (10/5): Basic friendly stay - Just the basics for the price. Great desk clerk!
- Erin (6/5): get what you pay for - Price was right, but you get what you pay for. We rented two rooms. One was decent, but not great. The other I'm pretty sure hadn't been cleaned. Dead bugs everywhere, and bugs between the sheets. Looked like they'd set off bug bombs and hadn't cleaned room afterwards. Also, no blow dryer and need to bring your own shampoo and soaps.
- Renato (8/5): Bargain in Groesbeck, TX - For the price, the OYO was an incredible. Not the nicest but for less than $30/ night this was a fantastic bargain.
- Heather (8/5): - The staff was very friendly to my kids and me and made sure we had what we needed like extra towels.
- Jennifer (4/5): Bait and switch. - Came expecting a wonderful experience based on reviews. There is no porter. The non-smoking rooms are only on the second floor according to the manager. The cost of a room is higher for a non-smoking room. We never had maid service. For 3 people there were 2 towels, and no plug for the bathtub. The toilet was broken. We requested a 1st floor room because I am in a cast and stairs are a huge obstacle for me currently. We booked through hotels.com and were told we had to pay a higher price because we needed a non-smoking room. Again this is from the management. The employees live on this property in several of the rooms. They have a shopping cart of a maid cart.
- madalisohh (2/5): Rudest Customer Service and Dirty/Dingy Rooms - Wish this allowed a 0 rating. Absolutely THE WORST customer service ever!! The rooms are dirty, sink stopped up and the first night my husband asked for extra towels, the night manager copped an attitude and walked off. Went the next morning and complained to the lady and requested for extra towels. There were 2 housekeeping ladies present and said they'd put extra towels. We come home that night STILL NO TOWELS. At this point, my husband and I decided to walk to the front desk. The might manager with his funky ass attitude comes down and we complained about the towel issue. He said he'll tell housekeeping to give us towels tomorrow. I said no that's unacceptable and we needed them now. The guy starts huffing and puffing, slamming doors, reaches for towels in the drawer and said we should not ask for any more towels until check out. Are you serious? Over extra towels. Needless to say we'll NEVER return to this rachet hotel.
- coke73man (6/5): No coffee - I stopped here for the night. The room was clean but there was a lot of noise and movement from the parking lot most of the night. I got up early the next morning and went to the office to get the coffee that they had a sign for. I found the office locked and no coffee.
- hoped480 (6/5): Morning Surprise - Groesbeck is not home for me, but I did grow up in Texas. Texas has nuances that you forget when you've been away for a while. Like the smell of fresh cow dung, first thing in the morning, which is exactly what I got. I'm obviously not looking for fancy if I go to Motel 6, but this one is attractive and set right in the middle of town. I was not particularly impressed with the worn furniture, nor the refrigerator that was not on when we got there. Our food had to stay in the cooler, which begs, why is the fridge even there if its not usable until the next day, when I'm ready to leave? Manager
Nick Patel was no nonsense and not friendly nor unfriendly.
Except for the fond reminder of how long I have been away from Texas, I would compare my stay to a bowl of unsalted, unbuttered oatmeal.
- embrey6 (4/5): Better hotels in the area - Old motel. Very loud and thin walls. Lots of road noise and a train runs behind the motel. Hard beds and old TV. Stains on carpet and bathrooms need help. Spiders, cobwebs and 1 very large roach. The door only has a chain lock. Thats it! Nice owners
- Mswin-d (2/5): Do not book online for this property - we were turned away with a confirmed reservation! - We booked a prepaid reservation for 2 rooms at this establishment for 2 nights through the internet. It seemed affordable and the 4 reviews were acceptable. We drove over 2 hours to this destination and, when we tried to check in with prepaid confirmation in hand, we were informed by the desk staff that they had no record of our reservation. They further stated that they did not subscribe to the online booking service through which we made our reservation. We were left on a busy holiday weekend with no place to stay. Needless to say, we would not recommend this motel to anyone looking for the convenience of booking rooms on the internet.
