- Anna (10/5): Homely and comfortable - Beautiful room, homely feel, very clean, friendly and welcoming staff Fridge in the room could be bigger but not a big issue
- Scott (10/5): Perfect and excellent hosts - Everything just perfect Having to leave

- Kate (8/5): Beautiful location and a comfortable stay. - The room and bathroom were exceptionally clean, creating a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere. The decor had a timeless quality, blending classic elements with a modern touch, which added to the overall charm of the space. I was particularly impressed with the attention to detail—everything from the neatly arranged toiletries to the carefully chosen artwork showcased a level of thoughtfulness that truly enhanced my experience. Overall, the room offered excellent value for the price, making my stay feel even more enjoyable. For the price, breakfast should have been included or offered, even if just pastries or fresh fruit.
- Thomas (7/5): Good clean comfortable rooms -
- Neil (9/5): Ideal for location, friendly host, comfortable night’s sleep. - Such a great location, central to the National Park. The room was homely and the bed very comfortable, slept well every night. Very friendly host, gave me some good recommendations for places to visit. Nothing, everything was good.
- Viveca (9/5): -
- Corey (10/5): I enjoyed the beauty of the rooms and the landscape and the people who run the inn. - The small town farm setting was just what I wanted. I feel as though I made friends and will return to hike the Brecon Beacons and stay there again. Would like breakfast or at least pastry.
- Elena (10/5): Fabulous 👌🏻 - It is rare to book into a hotel and find everything so thoughtfully arranged in terms of aesthetics and functionality ~ not to mention the warmth, genuine care, and attention the owners have given us. Although it was a short stay, we loved everything about it, and above all, we truly enjoyed the conversations we shared, which added a beautiful, personal touch to our experience. A place created with heart and intention ~ we’ll certainly return and recommend it wholeheartedly. N/A
- Helen (7/5): Lots of positives but some negatives too - Excellent location, near to good local canal side pubs. Lots of walking and cycling nearby. Great welcome. Nice building. Comfortable room. Mike in fridge was a nice touch. Couldn’t get the shower to work. I prefer more than one pillow. There was water in the fridge in single use plastic bottles
- Christine (10/5): A hidden gem - Our host was very friendly & accommodating, giving us plenty of information about the area & things to do.
The room was cosy & welcoming with nice little touches.
- Ann (10/5): Exceptional. - A lovely place to stay. I was made to feel very welcome. The accommodation was exceptionally clean and comfortable and of the highest standard and I throughly recommend Rooms at the Usk. There was nothing I didn’t like.
- Yosef (10/5): - מקום שקט בעל אפשרויות לטיולי טבע
- Jinnie (9/5): Very comfortable and clean, very convenient for Brecon Beacons, beautiful view from the room. Quiet - Signal for phones very weak but did not want to use the WiFi provided at the property.
- Keith (10/5): Excellent hosts with great local knowledge! - Very clean and up to date facilities!
- Christopher (10/5): -
- Barbara (10/5): Immaculate accomodation, friendly and v helpful host - Ideal for a night or a couple of nights to explore the area Nothing
- Stuart (10/5): -
- Irinuca (9/5): - I absolutely loved this place. It was immaculate, comfortable, good size room, beautiful decor with attention to detail. The owners were very attentive and friendly. The wifi kept dropping off, however that may be because of the whole area having poor coverage as my 5G mobile internet wasnt great either.
- Nicola (10/5): Really delightful place to stay - Rooms at the Usk was perfectly located for us as we were walking part of the Taf Trail. We were warmly welcomed and shown to our prettily and interestingly decorated room, which overlooked the garden.
We were delighted that there was a bath; just what we needed after a hot day of walking.
Checking in and checking out were both very straightforward and we agreed we’d love to visit again. Can’t think of anything.
- Gary (10/5): - Spotlessly clean with comfortable beds, and very pleasant hosts
- James (9/5): Comfy beds! Nice toffees! Super clean premises! - Everything Nothing
- Jackie (10/5): - Beautiful room in lovely village
- Richard (9/5): Friendly, comfortable and quiet. - Very friendly and informative welcome from the owner. Relaxed, comfortable and an ideal base for a wedding I was attending nearby. Nothing major. A coffee shop or similar nearby would be helpful. I went to Brecon for a morning coffee but the owner also suggested nearby pubs and similar for food.
- Helen (10/5): A perfect stay, can’t fault it at all - Beautiful property in a gorgeous area, very comfortable, clean, and quiet. Loads of bonus extras in the room - fresh milk!! - and Steve and Sam were just so friendly and welcoming. I’ll be coming back for sure!
- Despina (9/5): Lovely, clean, quiet place in amazing countryside - The surrounding area is some of the loveliest countryside, amazing walks and waterfalls that are not top busy to swim in, even on a sunny weekend.
Impeccably clean, very quiet, really good mattresses, bathtub. It's not exactly a criticism because the curtains were good, but block out curtains would be amazing in the summer.
- Kate (10/5): A beautiful property, tastefully decorated with extra touches like fresh milk and flapjacks. Really welcoming hosts. Wou - Easy to find and park, access and warm welcome Nothing
- Alice (9/5): Lovely countryside, comfy rooms, friendly hosts - Wonderful countryside, comfy rooms, lovely people. Outside tables and chairs in the garden would have been nice.
- Cliff (10/5): Exceptional -
- Justine (8/5): Attractive room only accommodation - Very clean and quiet room and beautifully decorated.
We were in the area for a family wedding and so the location was most important for us.
Two very nice pubs in walking distance that served lunch and dinner - the white hart and the Star
Steve was very friendly. As other guests have mentioned, it’s a shame that there was no breakfast option. There seemed to be nowhere within walking distance that did breakfast either.
Our room was lovely but the sky lights not having any blinds meant that the sun woke us up at 4.30am!
- Rachel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Winton (10/5): Great rooms!! Easy reach to Brecon and Llangorse! - Steve was an amazingly gracious host, and their rooms are amazing. Best night sleep I remember!
- Richard (9/5): Superb -
- Elaine (8/5): Very good - The accommodation was very clean and presented well
There were two pubs in a short walking distance for evening meal and a cafe for breakfast but with limited menu Our stay would have been perfect if it included breakfast and it would have been nice to have seen the owners in the morning perhaps otherwise good stay
- Stephen (10/5): Excellent place to stay, such a beautiful room. - The Usk is a little jewel. The room was delightful, so clean and comfortable. I loved the extra touches, room spray, sweets, small bottle of milk , a torch, and biscuits, coffee and tea on arrival. So well thought through. Also the room was beautifully decorated . The deco throughout the property was delightful. It was ideally situated, two pubs within walking distance. Extreemly friendly and helpfull hoists. A very special place, such a lovely experience. Also great value for money.
So close to the canal to enjoy a wonderful walk. Certainly suggest you visit and enjoy a relaxing stay. Liked it all

- Bev (10/5): A perfect stay ***** - Rooms at the Usk was one of the nicest places we've ever stayed in. Steve and Sam were so helpful and messaged us daily to check if everything was OK and see if we needed anything. The room was clean, comfortable and nicely furnished. The beautiful canal, a cafe and two pubs were a short walk away. There is an hourly bus service from the village to Brecon or Abergavenny. An absolutely perfect stay! We will return.
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional -
- Helen (10/5): Comfortable & welcoming stay with very accommodating hosts - Warm welcome to very clean & comfortable rooms. Ample parking & easy to find. Really comfy bed & good WiFi
- David (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jen (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (5/5): disappointing owning to the cold room in what was otherwise a nice hotel - . The hotel itself is well kept and roomy and will be a good location during summer (when breakfast will be available?) There was no breakfast and the room was cold. The hotel were obviously struggling to pay energy bills and stay open during winter, but the cost was less comfort. I assume the room heating was not switched on early enough
- Aneirin (9/5): Superb -
- Phil (8/5): Very good - Very clean and comfortable. Owner happy to meet outside check-in times. All good.
- Prebhjot (10/5): Exceptional - The bed was super comfy! Nothing
- Craig (8/5): Very good -
- Fabio (9/5): Excellent rooms in the Brecon Beacons area! - Great access to hikes in the Brecon Beacons area, easy to reach by car. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, and the place is super cosy and clean! Unfortunately the place doesn't offer meals or cooking facilities, and there are not many options nearby. Be prepared to drive a little further and/or make reservations in advance, especially if visiting during busy periods (e.g. bank holidays).
- Roman (10/5): Exceptional - Room was very clean lovely location friendly staff amazing experience there fully recommended
- Martin (10/5): Refreshing break - Peace and quiet, easy walking to restaurants. Very Very clean N/A
- Laura (10/5): A short stay, perfect for a wedding weekend! - The property was the perfect location for a wedding and also really easily accessible to Brecon town centre. The property was clean, comfortable, beautifully decorated and the bath was amazing! Sam and Steve were so helpful and welcoming and we would definitely recommend the property to others.
- David (7/5): Good - There was no breakfast Provide a breakfast
- Raymond (8/5): Very good -
- Edoardo (3/5): Ok. - Location Shower pressure very low, unable to have proper shower or rinse soap off hair
Room size small, pictures don't show real size
No hairdryer
Got charged £75 for accidental stain left on duvet and they reported me to Booking.com even after I paid the fee straight away
- Beryl (8/5): Very good -
- Daniel (10/5): Clean and comfortable with stunning views. - Only stayed one night for work but lovely location and very kind staff who checked me in. Comfortable bed in a very clean room with beautiful views from the window! N/A
- Stephanie (8/5): A perfect location for a stop-over when travelling to south Wales. The host was very welcoming. - The location suited us perfectly. The owners had thought of everything we could possibly need and provided it in the room. Diolch yn fawr. I prefer a room without carpet, so if I stayed again, I would request Swan instead of Heron.
- Zoe (9/5): Superb - Lovely clean and comfortable rooms. Friendly welcoming staff Only thing I would say is that the place is described as a 'bed and breakfast' on booking.com but they don't actually serve breakfast anymore, so this is slightly misleading.
- Oliver (10/5): Excellent would highly recommend - Would highly recommend. Lady running the place is lovely and rooms were spotless. Bed was very comfy and was nice and quiet Check in time of 7pm latest could be tricky if people are working and have to travel down after work on a Friday but worked ok for me.
- Hanna (10/5): Great location. Lovely owners. Beautiful area - Spotless clean Nothing
- Enikő (10/5): Cottagecore dream - Wonderfully decorated and comfortable rooms with great amenities. Toiletries, coffee, tea, and welcome snacks were provided.
There are breakfast and dinner places within walking distance. Close to the walkway alongside the canal.
- Som (8/5): I will be coming again - Peace and quite . Dining space
- Jamie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alison (8/5): Lovely setting and comfortable rooms with a very friendly and helpful host - Friendly and very helpful. A warm welcome, clean and attractive accommodation and a very good location. Shower could be better- and a heated towel rail would be useful.

- Rob (7/5): Good -
- Jennifer (8/5): Very good -
- Carrie (10/5): Relaxing and peaceful - What was there not to like, the place smelt so fresh when you walked in, it was well decorated and the rooms where spotless, you had everything you needed, biscuits and sweets, good selection of coffees and teas. I’m the bathroom they provided backups for shaving, toothbrush and toothpaste, shower cap and even bubble bath.
The breakfast was superb, I only experienced it properly one of the two days as I had to get up early for my 26 mile hike the first day, but they still made some sausage and bacon baguettes to take with us.
The hosts where lovely and very accommodating and made you feel at home. I’d love to come back at some point when I next visit wales.
- Hayley (9/5): Superb -
- Susan (10/5): Lovely short break, will be back again soon - Perfect location and beautiful area Nothing

- Conner (10/5): Amazing stay with amazing views. - the receiving of my stay was very warm. Clear explanation of how to get in or out of the entrance, directions to the nearest pub, and help with luggage. Once settled, was shown where to indicate breakfast options and if not available some could be dropped off to the room. On leaving, the staff went above and beyond to point me to the bus stop and see me on my way. There is nothing I can say that I did not like. The staff, the room, the amenities, the breakfast, the service, the accommodation, the location, the view, the layout... all were good. I would recommend Usk to anyone traveling to the Beacons!
- Frances (10/5): Amazing hospitality and breakfast, the room was very comfortable and clean, we loved our stay! - Amazing hospitality and breakfast, the room was very comfortable and clean, we just loved our stay and will be back! Our shower was a bit temperamental but otherwise nothing else to list
- Sukhmanjit (10/5): Exceptional -
- Raymond (4/5): Very disappointed. Poor value for money. - Countryside walks. Room TV. Room cold. No towel rail in bathroom. Bathroom extractor fan extremely noisy so could not turn on light during night while wife was sleeping. Kettle lead did not reach socket so had to put kettle on floor. Emailed asking for vegetarian breakfast but all that was offered was full English without the sausage and bacon. No separate knife for the toast and jam. £130 per night was far too expensive. Only worth £80 per night.
- Rose (9/5): Superb -
- Janet (9/5): Superb -
- Andrew (6/5): Certainly fine and comfortable, but not special. - Good location. Very clean and tidy. Comfortable bedding. Well-appointed. Nice property. Did not like that our room (Swan) had no shower - just a tub with shower attachment. No common areas to relax. Little information on activities in the area. Little coziness that I appreciate in a B&B.
- Alex (10/5): perfect for what we needed. would definitely stay again. - great location, lovely owners, very clean and well
equipped and great breakfast. nothing.

- Bernadette (9/5): The Usk House is ideally situated to explore The Brecon Beacons. The hosts have worked very hard to ensure that guests a - We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Usk Guest House. The house dates back to the mid 1800s, and is tastefully decorated in keeping with the age of the house. The hosts Steve and Sam have added lovely art pieces and furniture around the house. Our room was very clean; the bed very comfortable. We ate very hearty breakfasts, fuelled up for a days walking. Sam and Steve were excellent hosts and made us very welcome. Nothing.
