- P6186LPmikea (6/5): Pleasant modern hotel with great views from some rooms - Torre Dell Orso is a one horse town, possibly with room for two horses, being a small resort on the north coast of Puglia. It has minimal facilities, including a few restaurants but a stonking pizzeria in the main square. The area is dominated by a fabulous long sand beach catching the northerly winds, often a surfers’ beach. The water is fabulous and it is great fun. It is backed by a series of high sand dunes and scrub vegetation. Each end of the beach rises to attractive promontories of cliffs. On the east cliff stands the old tower after which the resort is named, and immediately alongside is the Hotel Belvedere. This is a modern glass fronted three story hotel of a nominal 3 to 4 stars. It is efficient and friendly, albeit the rooms which are not sea facing have a very poor view of back roads. There is a roof terrace with reclining sun loungers and a plunge pool, looking down on the beach. It’s main distinction is being probably the cheapest beach hotel on the north coast, so a great combination of being immediately adjacent to such a fabulous beach and yet being relatively inexpensive. You get what you pay for, but in this case it is a pleasant place to hang out. Try very hard to get a sea facing room. The rooms are very average with only small verandas, but again you get what you pay for. Breakfast is below average, mainly because the cooked food is laid out in unheated containers and is cold thereafter for anybody other than early risers. Chef: please invest in tray warmers.

Piscina al 3’ piano una cartolina ,con bar annesso dove poter fare l’aperitivo in santa pace . Cibo buonissimo,vi consiglio di mangiare in questo hotel perché si mangia veramente bene. Ma la mia nota super positiva va a tutto lo staff.

I’d like to give special attention to Marco and Ludovica, who answered my many questions, helped with transportation and set me up with what I feel is the best room at the hotel (105)! The incredible view, 2-door corner balcony and cleanliness of the room made my stay that much more enjoyable. There were many great dining options close by and the expansive, inviting beach was only a 5 minute walk away. Be mindful that in the off-season, local buses are not in service, so transportation to and from this neighborhood will take extra planning. Grazie mille!!!

If you`re coming by car, expect a slightly circuitous route around the town`s quasi-one way system; and aim for the parking spaces marked with white lines (very near the hotel) ... and get a (free) parking permit as soon as you check in. The hotel is beautiful and chic and sexy. The coffee shop in the lobby serves a really delicious drink…Caffe Leccese. Our room was perfect…bed was comfy, air conditioning! The little cafe in the lobby serves this fantastic local coffee drink, Caffe Leccese. The hotel itself is beautiful and chic. Perfect location—easy walk to the breathtaking beach, wonderful restaurants and shops. And just an odd little extra perfect thing about this hotel…the soap in our room’s bathroom had such a pretty scent. I wish I had it now. Treat yourself to a stay at this wonderful luxury!!

Personale molto cordiale, attento e premuroso con gli ospiti. Colazione super anche se non è mai cambiata durante la vacanza! Le bottigliette d'acqua fornite in camera gratuitamente per tutto il soggiorno (e omaggiate per il viaggio di ritorno) rappresentano un segno di attenzione e cura per il cliente. Complimenti!!

- Leasa (10/5): Great hotel, great breakfast, great service - This was our favorite hotel in a 5 week, 15 hotel trip. The front desk staff are amazingly friendly, and have is cappuccino on our arrival and bottled water on departure. Roma are big, comfy beds, amazing views. Breakfast was amazing, and the staff at breaky were amazing. We would stay again in a heartbeat.

La cena molto squisita e la carne cotta perfettamente. Piscina sul tetto con vista in tutte le direzioni. Cosine da migliorare: la notte le luci sul balcone non si lasciano spegnere e siccome la tenda non chiude completamente entra sempre un po di luce. Stesso discorso al mattino quando alle 5 già fa chiaro ed entra luce in camera. Pero il problema della tenda lo si trova in tanti alberghi. Grazie per questi due bellissimi giorni passati da voi.

The young girl on reception was amazing and we also left something at the hotel and they helped ship it to our next hotel. The hotel was lovely and we ate the restaurant which was very tasty and so was breakfast. We did arrive on a Sunday and it was very busy with loud music everywhere. Fireworks were going off it wasn’t our sort of place. If you go in the week I think it would be amazing.

I can’t speak highly enough of the staff and service we received. En février la ville est déserte ce qui est déstabilisant au début. Mais on s’y fait et on y prend plaisir, c’est beau et calme hors saison! L’hôtel est sympa, familial et bien placé. Le staff est aux petits soins et le service au top.

The location was well located in the Puglia region .My room got the best view with a huge balcony .The staff was very helpful , specially Marco at the restaurant at Breakfast . Simona at the reception and Muhammed for helping us so many times.I had the pleasure to meet the Direttore ( Mr. Francesco) very kind and helpful as well . Parking the car was a breeze outside the hotel .Overall , I would definitely stay at the Belvedere again .

- Bruce (10/5): A wonderful gem of a stay - This was an amazing stay. The room was clean and up to date. In a summer resort town, we were there in October (shoulder season). You would think the staff would be minimal, but not so. They were in full force ready to assist. The dinner and breakfast were superb! The surrounding scenery of the Adriatic and the coastal vies were great. I would come back here in again.

Hotellets restaurant, er fantastisk.

- James (10/5): An excellent hotel with very friendly staff - I was a little apprehensive before arriving at Hotel Belvedere: the reviews were excellent, it wasn’t booked up and it was great value. It seemed almost too good to be true. I needn’t have worried. The staff were wonderful, the hotel is comfortable, spotless and has a cool 1960s Miami vibe, and it was indeed excellent value. Torre Dell’Orso is a beach town with a very good beach, a few decent pizzerias, bars and gelaterias. It’s a very convenient spot from which to explore Otranto, Gallipoli and beautiful coastline.

Das Abendessen haben wir nicht in Anspruch genommen. Das Zimmer selbst war eher klein und einfach möbliert, aber sehr ruhig und mit einem kleinen Balkon mit seitlichem Meerblick. Ein Upgrade wäre gegen Aufpreis möglich gewesen. Sehr leise Klimaanlage. Ein kleiner Kühlschrank (Minibar) ist vorhanden, aber ohne Angabe der Preise.

Leider waren viele Restaurants in der nächstgelgenen Strasse bereits im Winterurlaub, aber nichtsdestotrotz war es fantastisch. Nettes Personal und der Strand sehr sauber, nicht überfüllt und das Meer glasklar - würden sofort wieder um diese Jahreszeit dorthin reisen.

Really exceptionally helpful front desk staff, we were given a room upgrade and late check out. The hotel is perfect for exploring the area or a holiday just in Torre dell Orso, the magnificent beach is 5 minutes walk. Parking is on the streets around the hotel but is easy and the hotel provides parking permits. It would have been great if the hotel restaurant had been serving food outside, the food was excellent but the room lacks some atmosphere in the evening although during the day it has wonderful views.

As it is the off season, most of the town was shut down. However, we were completely happy to sit at the gorgeous hotel bar, over looking the stunning beach.

The staff was very attentive and went out of their way to make sure we had a great stay. The waiters in the restaurant were great. Only downside is that the music from the beach can be loud at night.

The public beach is staggeringly crowded, and the "lido" beaches are very, very noisy with shatteringly loud music. - Verified traveler (8/5): Read your confirmation - Main Hotel was excellent but we were given a room in the "Dependency: and we were not pleased with it. We were not aware of the fact that it said "Annex" on our confirmation as we didn't read it thoroughly. Although very clean, the room was very small and dark and not in the same category as the rooms in the main hotel. We felt we grossly overpaid for this type of accommodation. The staff were very friendly and very helpful and the amenities in the main hotel were wonderful. We enjoyed many excellent meals at the restaurant.

Beware when you select room type...I was informed when I got to hotel that I was in annex room (down the street) and had to pay a premium to upgrade to hotel room. It was a bit costly but we got a wonderful ocean view room with balcony. Only drawback was that the town pretty much shut down for summer on Sept 17. Thus only a handful of restaurants remained open (minimal selection). Beautiful little beach town. Will definitely return!

Thank you to Alex but specially to Francesco for their in valuable, patient and selfless help and advice. Rooms do not have luxurious facilities, but are very clean and comfortable and a great base to explore the area. I would say that the hotel is quite upmarket compared to other places in the area. The views from the hotel and many rooms are gorgeous. Thank you to the management for upgrading us after the first night without us even asking: very thoughtful of the hotel’s management team. Breakfast was good but what one would expect in most of Italy. They helped us a lot in finding a safe parking space near the hotel every single time. Good nightlife and very happening in the summer.
- Rachel (10/5): Fantastic hotel and staff - The hotel had a great location with fantastic views especially from the roof top pool. The staff were really helpful. They arranged a late check out for us at no additional charged and provided us with drinks and snacks for our journey to the airport. The restaurant was very reasonably priced for food of such a good standard. The restaurant even provided a menu in English and some staff spoke English very well, a rarity in this area! Staff were very helpful with parking and we never had any problems. The management and reception staff are fantastic. We would highly reccomend this hotel loacted on a beautiful beach with crystal clear sea.
- Eric (10/5): Great Hotel with a Fantastic Manager - We really enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Belvedere in large part thanks to the above and beyond service and recommendations provided to us by the hotel manager, Francesco. The hotel amenities were top notch and my wife and I LOVED the continental breakfast with such a wide range and quality foods. The rooftop patio and pool area was very sleek, modern, and provided a lovely view of the beach and surrounding area. The hotel is within easy walking distance from the sights and attractions of Torro del Orso including the Grotto de Poesia. We loved our stay here and would gladly recommend the hotel to anyone staying in the area.

- Terry (8/5): Nice Hotel and a good place to stay - This is a great hotel in an excellent location. However, when we stayed (Mid May) the 'season' was only just beginning with the result that the town was very quiet and little in the way of restaurants was open making eating in the hotel a necessity rather than a choice. That said the food was good but a little expensive. In addition, at breakfast, we found it surprising that hot food was put out on the buffet but with no heat under it to keep it warm whilst the cold foods (dairy) was not put on ice nor kept in a fridge. For a * hotel we found this unacceptable. Staff very helpful and friendly and the décor everywhere immaculate. Beaches great and in easy walking distance. parking just outside.

- Michael (10/5): Just perfect in all respects - I did a 5-day trip around Puglia spending my last Lufthansa Senator Miles for the flight. Two nights at bellissima Belvedere Hotel in Puglia. It was one of the most pleasant hotels for quite a while: just perfect in each respect. Front desk friendly service, good breakfast buffet, rooftop pool overlooking the long white sand beach going shallow into the Adriatic Sea. Did not try the hotel restaurant. Found outstanding seafood and frutte di mare in nearby San Foca. This hotel and the team deserves - without any doubt - the highest possible rating. I have no idea how that is still valid in high season, but it is certainly worth a try. In summary: truly excellent
