Laura (8/5): - Incredibly friendly and helpful staff, beautiful location within the jungle. We didn't book all-inclusive and we ate at the restaurant, they were very accomodating. We would stay again! Overall we were very happy, however we had a cheaper last-minute deal. Paying full price we would have been disappointed by the room (e.g. shower door didn't close, a bit outdated), they didn't do housekeeping (one day we specifically asked for it and they did it).

Solene (6/5): Emplacement idéal mais un rafraîchissement s'impose - Emplacement idéal pour ce resort situé au coeur du parc dont l'intégration dans l'espace naturel est particulièrement réussi. Et belle attention du personnel pour la décoration de notre lit pour notre voyage de noce. En comparaison aux photos les chambres ont veillies. Les ventilateurs sont ultra bruyants. Nous avons mangé le soir au restaurant du resort qui propose peu de choix et dont les prix ne sont pas affichés, Resultat c'est notre repas le plus cher de notre séjour et le plus mauvais, le poisson était salé au point que nous n'avons pu finir nos assiettes.

733ezekielc (10/5): BEST GETAWAY AT BOCAWINA - My partner and I decided to take a much-needed getaway to Mayflower Bocawina National Park, where we stayed a few nights at Bocawina Resort. From the peaceful atmosphere and welcoming fellow guests to the comfortable and clean rooms and of course the unforgettable hikes to the waterfalls the experience was nothing short of incredible. Mission accomplished. What truly elevated our stay was the amazing staff. Sandy, Ashandi, Rachel, Bryan, Morelia, and the rest of the team made us feel completely at home. We will definitely be back.

471marilynnc (10/5): Epic adventures are here! - The bugs may be a surprise to some but it is the Rainforest, after all, be prepared. Recommendation is leggings or long pants to protect. The staff works extremely hard to build a lifelong experience. I have no complaints but I do have memories. The discussion culture and survival. You will face some fears and survive. You will grow through your interactions. Be present and open to learning. I did some trail running, canoed an awesome cave, went hiking, rappelling down a waterfall, zip lined the forest, and ate freshest chocolate in the world. None of this would have been possible without the amazing Guides Roberto and Herson. They protect and guide as you learn their World and culture. Some of the most beautifully kind people I’ve ever met.

752duncanm (10/5): Great place in the middle of nature - My wife and I stayed here in November 2025. It is a 10km drive from the highway on a gravelroad. Watch out for holes! :) I think the staff makes this place. They are welcoming, friendly and always trying to help. When checking in, the Kristie showed us around the place, explained everything and walked us to our room. We had a Maya-room, which is a very simple room: two beds, a bathroom, 3 fans. So no airco, no fridge and no tv. But were not counting on those, but just mentioning it, because I read a lot of reviews about missing airco. The beds are a bit on the hard side, but we survived from 3 nights :) there was not really enough room for our big suitcases, but we managed. I guess if you want a bit more comfort, you should book a suite or cabana. They have some self-guided walks you can do. On one day, we did the walk to a waterfall en after 5 minutes, it started raining! So we were all wet and had muddy shoes. We asked the frontdesk if we could clean our shoes anywhere and she walked with us to the laundryroom and got us a bucket with soap and a brush. The staff in the restaurant is so friendly! Nothing is too much for them. We bought the floodplain ($50 per day, for breakfast, lunch and dinner), so we could have every meal in the restaurant. The quality is the food is good, but I guess that is thanks to the cooking of Miss Janice :) We did the 9 ziplines, which was awesome, flying through the jungle! We were just with the two of us and had two guides. The boys were so friendly en helpful, we had a blast! Outside the room was a watertank to refill your own can.
Lambert - Degueldre (6/5): Top Endroit dans le parc national Bocawina pour 2 à 3 jours, pas plus. - Le lieu est hyper calme dans le parc national Bocawina. Depuis le site, on vous propose des activités (zipline, Randonnées ....). Restaurant sur le site. Le confort de la chambre n'était pas top, absence de climatisation (mais éco-loge c'est normal), ventilateurs bruyants, canapé peu confortable, pas de machine pour se préparer un thé, un café, pas de table, ni de chaises.
Justin (2/5): - First off Expedia did not take first payment like they had marked on our booking so when we got there we had to pay the full amount. Witch was double what we expected and that made it to were we could only eat a meal a day. Then the prices at the resort were not clear so things were more expensive. Dead insects on the floor generic frozen bagged food at top dollar like breaded chicken with a touch of sauce some rice a pasta salad was $26 usd not happy with this place. Just an all over joke of a place only beverage that you get with a meal is water nothing more. Being in a national park is nice but not when everything to do cost stupid money. I would never recommend this place to anyone.

803dinof (2/5): Go somewhere else - Rude staff, no air conditioner, expensive food made this place a bad choice. Our expectations were an all inclusive experience but that was not the case. I understand that. What I did not understand is their arrogance. Their food was double any other meal we had the entire trip! Kudos to the chef and server, though. They were fantastic.
L2007RIanthonyf (2/5): Absolutely terrible, epitome of lipstick on a pig. - Gorgeous room and property, and the Resteraunt has amazing food. However everything else about this place is an absolute joke. No AC in the room in 2025 when mini splits and even window units exist, is unacceptable in a climate like Belize, especially at this resorts price point. The lady at the front desk was very rude and condescending. They used the same product as body wash in the shower and handsoap in the bathroom sink, not to mention not including shampoo and conditioner- again, embarrassing for a hotel claiming to be luxurious. Their website claims every stay includes 3 meals a day, this is a lie, and simply entrapment, to get you to pay for the overpriced food they claimed was included with EVERY stay, they know you can’t go anywhere else, given their abhorrent dirt road into the property (other dirt roads we’ve traveled on during our trip have been very well maintained) and can’t starve. No mini fridge in the room is a joke, I’ve stayed in budget hotels with a fridge. On top of all of that, they can’t even waive the national park fee for those staying on the property…. Honestly, I could go on and on about how awful this place is but I’ll leave it at stay as far away from this place as you possibly can, worst hotel of the trip by far, and possibly one of the worst I’ve ever stayed at. If I could leave lower than a 1 star, I would.

The staff is super helpful and friendly - the food is amazing - and the jungle delivers the most amazing wildlife and waterfall experiences! I added many new bird and wildlife species to my life list. We loved our time here!
Sarah-Sny (10/5): Beautiful Bocawina - I read a lot about Bocawina before traveling to Belize, and I thought I knew what to expect, but it exceeded my expectations by far. Bocawina is an amazing place! It’s stunningly beautiful, the accommodations are very nice, the food is tasty, and there is so much opportunity for adventure. I stayed at Bocawina a few days, traveled to Tobacco Caye, and then I came back to Bocawina for a few more days unexpectedly. I enjoyed a guided group hike with Emilio to Antelope Falls, and I hiked to several other waterfalls on my own. I was lucky enough to have a private bird walk with Herson, two night walks with Israel, and another daytime hike with Israel. The absolute best part of Bocawina is the staff. Kayla and Teo were wonderful and made sure I was taken care of well. Miss Jen is a great chef and was so friendly. Rhea is a beautiful soul- she taught me much about Belizean culture and she was lovely company at meals. The guides were *fantastic* - kind and very knowledgeable. Herson taught me lots about plants and birds, and he was so personable. Israel taught me lots about the culture and wildlife; his humor and kindness made me feel comfortable on the hikes, and he was very professional. I can’t say enough good things about Bocawina. Thanks for such a memorable experience, and I will be back soon!
Barbara (9/5): Amazing stay in the Bocawina rainforest! - Loved the grounds of the resort, totally in the nature with birds & insects all around. Amazing hikes in the rainforest reserve e.g. Antelope Falls, not many people around. Had dinner & breakfast in the bar/restaurant which we really enjoyed (prices in US$ only). The girl behind the bar was lovely & took the time to chat to us about Belize & taught us some creole phrases - 10/10 for her but can’t remember her name sadly! Wish we could’ve stayed longer than one night.
carolineu364 (10/5): Tropical paradise! - What a treat to stay in the heart of the rainforest! The staff and guides were very helpful, friendly, and informative. Although not a great deal of variety, the meals were all fresh and delicious. Very clean. The beds and pillows were super hard (that was the only downside for me). We were able to stay cool enough with a fan on us at night. I was able to see two different kinds of toucans and Red Fronted Amazons! I can't wait to come back.
Catherine (6/5): We liked this resort very much - it was special but could be EXTRA special with a few extra touches! - Fabulous nature setting, food excellent if pricey, guests have easy access to wonderful hikes, and the staff are friendly. One reviewer mentioned the best coconut mojito ever -- and she was right! The gardens are very well-tended, with numerous flowering plants and lovely arches of flowers over some pathways. Pet guinea fowl wander on the grounds. The noise was frequent and jarring in this serene setting. Groaning lawnmowers awakened us the first day and a loud generator drowned dusk and night sounds from 4pm to 1 am. We observed that one mower inexplicably left his machine running/spluttering for over 10 minutes when he went off to do something. Maybe mowing could be limited to when the generator MUST be on? Can some sound-proofing enclose the generator? Also, some extra nature touches would be nice, e.g. thatch on top of ugly corrugated iron roofs, such as the one outside the window of one suite, (decorative) wooden/bamboo beams on the ceilings inside, hammocks and swings in various places to enhance the relaxing atmosphere.

Natalie (10/5): - I can’t say enough about the friendliness of the staff! Such a lovely group of people! Our room was clean and comfortable. LOVED the sound of the jungle critters day and night. Had some heavy rain moments, but it was refreshing and beautiful. Easy access to hiking trails with spectacular jungle views and waterfalls. The zip line was one of a kind! Highly recommend this resort for those looking for a jungle experience. Important tip: bug spray is a must! There are little black flies called botless flies that take a bite that is noticed but not painful, but the itching is irritating for days! Other than that, absolutely wonderful!

Revsquirrelmama (10/5): Incredible environment, 5 star service - If you are looking for an Eco adventure, this is the place to do it. The location is astounding, the service is top rate, the food was good and the entire experience was amazing. I was encouraged to do the antelope Falls hike and repelling by Kayla and I am so glad she did that. It was not an easy experience, but Andrea was so incredibly supportive and made sure we were all safe. Rhea who works at the bar is truly a gentle spirit, and Roberto took me on the most amazing bird walk in the morning and night, walk in the evening and was so incredibly knowledgeable and made me feel safe even when we even when we looked at tarantulas. I read one of the negative reviews and that person clearly was not looking for this kind of adventure. They were probably more used to five star resorts. This is not that kind of place. What it is is a place where people who want to experience the wilderness with other like-minded individuals, can get close to nature, and experience top rate hospitality. I highly highly recommend

Verified traveler (6/5): - In general, I found it to be overpriced. The "suite" was not really a suite. No TV, no AC, no fridge. Very isolated -- you have to eat there and the food is expensive and charged in US $. The food in the buffet dinner was good but the breakfast was frankly bland and the coffee was not so good. The furnishings are a bit tired. The staff was very nice, accomodating, and friendly.

All the normal things available but the quality was awesome and the cook, Ms. J, was spectacular, friendly and made some good choices for dinner! She even made me a cake on my birthday. All of the staff was nice and I would go back! The hikes that were close were amazing and the adventure center is right on property! The zip-lining and and the repelling were awesome! I also received a massage form Hannah. I was not disappointed she had strong hands only because I asked but she had a true passion for massage. She came right to my porch. She did a great therapeutic massage. I didn't like how far it was from a town butttttt thats what it means to be in the middle of a rainforest! LOL Also the bugs but again a rainforest. Take supplies if you need.

668waded (6/5): Underwhelming - The good.. grounds of the Bocawina Rainforest Resort are pretty spectacular, they’ve done a nice job of immersing you in the surrounding jungle and we saw Toucans, Guinea fowl, howler monkeys, Kinkajou, and coatimundi. All without much effort while within the resort. The staff at Bocawina are really nice and the guides we had while doing excursions were very friendly and did a nice job informing people of the surrounding animals and native plants. The bad..the place is just weird. Meal times are all predetermined and we were fed bad buffet style food. 20 plus T-bone steaks flopped onto a serving platter and left out on a bar top for people to pick through as an example. There wasn’t a person in our group of three that wasn’t disappointed and quite frankly kinda disgusted by the food quality and service. They had a really sweet girl working the restaurant by herself (not the chef) who did her best to present the slop served in a tasteful way. Definitely not her fault!! When we travel we look forward to enjoying local cuisine and what we got was about as far from that as imaginable. They have really missed the mark on the food served, and the manner in which they serve it. We stayed in a “cabana suite” and found it dated, kinda dirty, and lacking basic amenities such as hot water at the sink, on our second night we had no hot water in the shower either, but the staff did respond in short order. There was a gritty residue on the floors, stained towels and really uncomfortable beds. We were here to enjoy the surrounding nature and that we did. 5 stars across the board in that regard, 2 stars for the food, and two for the accommodation. Our family recommendation would be to stay somewhere else and take excursions into Bocawina for adventure and nature observation but would not recommend staying. The wildlife saved this stay for us, you might not be so lucky. Proceed with caution to Bocawina rainforest resort. It’s over priced and underwhelming.

The staff were so caring and involved in our stay. They made certain that we understood the trails and where we were going. The Wild Fig restaurant was very good with several options each night. We stayed in a basic room. It wasn’t fancy, but it was clean and comfortable. We had an amazing experience! If you are looking for an adventure in the rainforest, this is your place! Highly recommend!
Fionaruns (10/5): Jungle getaway - We had the time of our lives! This cozy resort, tucked away in the jungle was fantastic. Trails and waterfalls and wildlife galore. But the part that stood out the most was the incredible staff! So welcoming and helpful. Seamless!

jaykK8021KZ (2/5): STAY AWAY!! - DO NOT STAY HERE! We made a reservation for one night because we were flying to Ambergris Caye the next day. We had a free cancellation 72 hours prior. The COMMUNICATION WITH THE RESORT IS HORRIBLE!! You can't reach them by phone & they don't respond to emails!! We found out about a week prior that our flight times had changed significantly & it no longer made sense to stay at Bocawina due to the 2 1/2 hour drive each way to the airport. I called the resort several times during their normal business hours. No one ever answered so I had to leave messages. No return phone calls!! I also emailed the resort informing them of our situation & cancelling our reservation. I have been home for a week & still haven't received a response to my email or a return phone call. Come to find out that they are trying to charge me a $100 cancellation fee! Not gonna happen, I've disputed the charge.
Freedom12563617089 (10/5): Trip of a lifetime for our family - We booked 3 days at Bocawina Resort as part of the Rainforest and Reef package from Island Expeditions for a family vacation with our 2 adult children and their partners. What a fabulous choice for our group! We were blown away by the staff here: so kind, knowledgeable and helpful. We had amazing adventures: waterfall rappelling, zip lines, guided birdwatching, and self guided hikes to swim under waterfalls. Our guides, Kevin, Andreas and Roni were exceptional and fountains of information. Shout out to the staff of the Wild Fig Restaurant too! Our servers Rose and Steven were so attentive and helpful. Steven makes delicious cocktails at the bar. Chef Jenny cooks (and bakes) hearty and delicious meals, including thoughtful accommodations for the gluten-free and dairy free among us. The rooms are a bit rustic, but large and clean with nice pillows and mattresses. Overall we are so pleased with our experience and could not have picked a better place for our family vacation.

Josseth (1/5): This was the work resort in Belize. - nothing With the off season I expected the quiet time but this facility was old, damp and mosquito infected. No evening entertainment. No activity that can be accomplished due to no attempt was made to reduce mosquitoes. They could have sprayed the area or try burning tekkie lamps or try planting more plants to detour mosquitoes. The dining hall was dark and not inviting and the food was not good. There is zip line but you cant stand outside long enough due to the mosquito and all the equipment smelled really used and old.

Megan (8/5): Double check prices of activities - This was a wonderful stay in that the location was beautiful, the room was very nice, clean and comfortable, and it was amazing to be able to be able to walk right out the door to a variety of hiking trails. We were very happy with everything until we went to check out and were told that the night hike we had verbally been told by a staff member was $40.00 USD was actually $106.00 USD. While I'm not exactly sure what happened as far as the miscommunication, I do know that the two staff members we spoke to regarding our shock were not at all helpful except to say we should have known what the real price was, and that is the amount they charge. I do take some responsibility for not asking multiple times and/or multiple people what the price was before attending the very underwhelming hike, but I don't feel that as a guest we should need to triple check everything we are told by the staff. If they had made any effort whatsoever to help make us feel like they understood that a miscommunication happened, we would have left with a positive impression. Instead our feeling upon leaving a five night stay was of upset and confusion.
rmonoxide23 (10/5): The Magic of Bocawina - This is a praise to Bocawina Resort and all their staff as well as Lucky the cat. What a truly special place! I was supposed to go with my sister but her flight was delayed for the 3 days I was there, so I spent those days waking up before dawn to birdwatch, howler monkey spot, hike and swim in picturesque swimming holes. I loved that they had me sign in and out with the desk and they kept tabs on me if I wasn’t back in a sufficient amount of time. And talk about amazing communication with each other! I’d leave early for a hike and when I got back various staff would ask how my hike was around the Bird Loop, or wherever I went! How impressive! I was well taken care of here. I hiked both lower and upper Bocawina Falls and then Antelope Falls the following morning. I really enjoyed both and I especially loved the ropes at Antelope that were along the steepish rocky trails! It made it safe and yet also more adventurous and fun. I highly recommend! I also walked around the bird loop and visited the unexcavated Mayan ruins. How amazing is it that there are massive mounds of temples underneath the hills?! I did not hire a guide but passed one with a group along the way and almost turned back to go hire one from the resort as I felt like I was kindof missing out. But I ended up playing whistling calling games with a bird for a while and knew I couldn’t do that with a guide around. :) I also must give praise to the Wild Fig Restaurant. I am vegan and the chef made up some delicious dishes for me! But what I can’t get out of my head is the veggie burger and that fresh-made bun~ I could eat one every single day! Steven was making my drinks and I had the best frozen coconut mojito I never thought I needed. He is a drink artist, no doubt! I also just loved popping in for a beer or early coffee and chatting with him. Before my hike one morning he made sure they sent watermelon with me on my journey and my lovely desk lady was always making sure I had enough water. Again, the level of care and service here blew my mind. I didn’t do any of the ziplining or rappelling but I did book a night hike. I have to say though that I instantly felt bad as I realized I didn’t want to disturb the howler monkeys with bright lights being shone on them as it blinds them for a bit and disorients them. I was really happy we didn’t see them actually. My guide knew where certain cool spiders were living but again, bright flashlights being shone on them were making me feel really bad. I have such respect for the animals and critters so I won’t ever do a night hike again. My guide did a great job and when I told him I didn’t want to disturb he understood. I did see an alien of a beetle with two glowing eyes though and have included a pic! Last but not at all least was my little friend Lucky the cat who resides at Bocawina. The staff really care for this little cat and he even has a little cat door in the Wild Fig! I could never find him when I wanted to but then he’d surprise me and just magically appear when I wasn’t expecting it, in perfect pixie form of course. I had some great conversations with this little cat and always wanted more. Ahh Bocawina, you are exactly what I needed. To be submersed in nature and to just be. To have happy, calm people around who communicated well with each other. To let me re-wild and be adventurous while keeping a watch to make sure I was always okay. This place filled my soul. And of course I highly, so highly recommend! I look forward to going back there again. On an end note my desk lady friend worked tirelessly and kept in constant communication with my sister on getting her to the resort if her flight actually took off, which it did not while I was there. It was all good though. I love traveling alone and got my quiet yet adventurous nature time in, allowing my batteries to recharge and me to be better company when my sister arrived. It all worked out for the best! The service here is better than any I have ever experienced. Thank you Bocawina!

Faith (3/5): Hike the park, but stay somewhere else - Wonderful location inside the national park. The property does not have it's own trails, but the park trails and waterfalls are well worth the trip. The property was very disappointing. The accommodations are built without thought of air flow and since they do not have a/c, they are very hot and uncomfortable. This is a primitive lodge in the jungle, it has very minimal amenities and not exactly a "resort".

Brigitte (10/5): - We really enjoyed our stay here. The property was beautiful. Our room was clean and really nice with a screen porch that we sat on every morning to listen to the birds. Coming from Colorado we were really hot since there’s no air conditioning but it is a rainforest so we dealt with it, had 2 floor fans and a ceiling fan. Hiking was great, trails are well marked. We did the zip line which was amazing flying at or above the canopy. I have a fear of heights but they make you feel very safe. All staff were friendly and the food in the restaurant was really good. No complaints here!
MeghanONeill (10/5): Great way to spend a few days inland in Belize - Excellent 3 night stay in the rainforest - loved waterfall hike and rappel the most! Kevin was an excellent guide and Emilio also, both very personable and knowledgeable. Zip lining was a fun afternoon and the cave tubing was a special surprise. Chocolate tour was informative and fascinating. The food was excellent - I enjoyed the fact that there was plated service at several meals. The setting is spectacular. I did think the rooms are a bit shabby, could use some upgrading and electrical outlets are minimal (two didn’t work). It was quiet when we were there - BONUS!
GeorgieCA (10/5): Lovely with a bit of an Identity Crisis - To start, the staff could not be more awesome - attentive, helpful, pleasant etc. I was a little worried about the location because, despite the fact that it is in a national park, the photos make it look a little barren. Indeed, it is on a large, cleared grassy meadow area, surrounded by jungle - but it is actually a little less barren than I imagined. It is pretty for sure. Our room is large and comfortable - the bed is fine. We’re visiting on some of the hottest days of the year - even the Belizeans all think it is too hot - and we are feeling the lack of air conditioning. Saying that, once we accepted the reality that we wouldn’t be going on a lot of long, jungle hikes, and needed to bow to the heat - its been ok. The biggest draw back is the lack of a nearby body of water to cool off in.You can hike to waterfalls - but the closest (during the dry season) is a solid 30 minute hike away. It’s not difficult, but doesn’t help much with the “I just want to cool down now” thing. There is a closer river watering hole that we kind of stumbled on - but oddly, I think it just didn’t occur to staff that we’d want to dip in to this clean, but less picturesque spot. The whole place definitely has a summer camp vibe with all of the activities, the lack of AC, etc. We enjoyed that, and actually wish it had more of that vibe - less fancy eating, for example would have been nice. Food-wise, breakfast was delicious: simple fry jacks and eggs, or omelets. Though the “fresh baked pastries” and “local jams” were nowhere in evidence. Lunch was delicious too - we always ordered the crew lunch — meaning we ate whatever the crew was eating that day, chicken stew and rice, etc. Dinner, was relatively meh for us - but I’ve found this to be true throughout Belize. I suspect that they are trying to cater to American tastes with things like “Chicken Cordon Bleu” — but personally I eat plenty of fairly delicious American food in America so I’m not here for the knock-offs.
Vacation29225245907 (10/5): Massage with Anna - ANNA is the best massue I have ever had, and that is based on decades of massages! ANNA gives deep theraputic massage wih a passion. I was here at the resort and had three 90 minute massages. Don't pass this up! ANNA put me back together after a long travel day, sore joints and arthritis.

jeannier712 (10/5): Jovial Jungle - My husband and I just returned last night from 7 days in Belize. We were at Bocawina Resort for our 30th wedding anniversary, and everyone there made it spectacular. I am more of a beach girl and really went to the jungle as a compromise, and was pleasantly surprised. I absolutely loved it. The staff made it wonderful first of all; so friendly from the minute we arrived until when we departed. So attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly. The rooms were very clean and comfortable, the food delicious, but again staff was icing on the cake. I am a city girl, but found myself going on a night time jungle hike, which I told my husband I would assess and decide if I would join once there, and I am happy I went. I am grateful I didn’t hear the howler monkeys prior to that night walk because I would’ve chickened out. Be prepared they do sound like dinosaurs but what an experience hearing that. I had the most amazing massage from Anna outside, under a beautiful tree, listening to the birds with a slight breeze - heavenly. We also zip lined and hiked lower Bocawina Falls. Never a dull moment, being outside with nature, spectacular views! Thank you Meilin, Stephen, Brandon, Kaliyah, Eddy, Jose, Emilio, Victor, Anna, and Chelsi for making our stay wonderful!
marytressad (10/5): Great birdwatching destination - We had a great stay! The food was really good (including gluten free options), the staff is friendly, and the birdwatching is excellent. We really liked our guidea! Lots of activities to choose from, and the rooms are comfortable. Recommend!
90duncanm (10/5): Beautiful lodge in a beautiful park - We stayed here as the first part of our "Rainforest and Reef Explorer" package from Island Expeditions. We had a large cabana near the restaurant. The cabana was comfortable, and the park that surrounds it is fantastic. The package gave us the option of ziplining, rapelling, guided hikes, birdwatching, etc; we chose the hikes and birdwatching, and went on several hikes on our own. Some of the hikes are challenging -- very steep and slippery, but worth it, especially swimming in the natural pool near the top of Antelope Falls. The Wild Fig restaurant had delicious meals (included in our package) and very friendly staff.
Lacy (6/5): - Hotel room was really small for the price. Food was fantastic and the chef was super accommodating for my food allergies. Staff provided us late checkout so we could do our excursion and not have to worry about our belongings.

Stephanie (10/5): Beautiful place to stay and explore Mayflower Bocawina! Wonderful staff, tasty food, great hikes! - I loved my stay at Bocawina Rainforest Resort! Beautiful grounds right in the entrance to the Mayflower Bocawina National Park, with access to well-maintained and easy-to-follow trails that take you to different waterfalls in the Park. All the staff were so friendly and everything was wonderfully organized and laid out. Great communication ahead of time in helping me to setup transport to Bocawina, they were very accommodating in letting me check-in early and check-out late, and they provided a nice map of all the trails and falls around. Melanie at the front desk was so lovely and helpful :) The Wild Fig Restaurant right in the resort has delicious food and great service (Stephen, the waiter, was wonderful!). The rooms were clean and comfortable and equipped with plenty of fans to keep you cool. It was a great place to show up and explore on your own, if you prefer that. They also have lots of tours that they organize. I did the trail to Antelope Falls one afternoon, which was fun and the falls were beautiful. There are ropes that you can use to help you get up the final steeper, narrow trail, but I felt completely safe. Trail was dry and not slippery, and even though it was hot, trail was shaded almost the whole way. Such a refreshing swim at the pool at the top. Make sure to bring bug spray + water! The next morning I did the Big 5 Falls loop. It's a long and adventurous route of around 11km. Again, bring the bug spray and plenty of water. My favorite was the Upper Bocawina falls, if you scramble your way up a little to the pool and main part of the waterfall. Gorgeous! Big Drop waterfall was quite surprising! Be ready for a lot of steep downhill (later uphill of course) and then pretty much rappelling down the final section with the ropes they provide. Good fun though if you're ready for a workout! Only stayed a night at Bocawina, but could definitely have stayed longer. Highly recommend staying at this resort and exploring this national park!

The location was good as we went for walks into the waterfalls and birdwatching. Rooms were small. Bathroom the same. When reviewing this resort, I thought we would get the suites as those in the pictures, especially for the price per night. It was a bit of a shock when we were led to small old rooms.

Ian (3/5): Disappointing stay at Bocawina - Some parts of the complex were quite smart, and the shuttle service to and from Dangriga worked efficiently. Value for money was extremely poor, with prices at least double anywhere else we stayed. The meal service was a fixed price for little choice and 2 courses, whether you wanted them or not. The room was quite spartan, with a desk but no chair to sit on. The bathroom was a deathtrap, with marble steps to the toilet and the shower, which I fell over but fortunately did not seriously injure myself. The shower controls were obscure, with no notice telling you how to operate them. The point of going there for us was to follow hiking trails, but some were mislabelled as 'easy' when they were quite difficult. To get to the trails youhad to hike along a churned up muddy road. Not a good experience.

Charlie (9/5): great location in the middle of the park - in the heart of the Bocawini rainforest. the grounds are immaculately kept. lots of birds too. staff are very friendly and helpful. fabulous packed lunches and delicious breakfast with home made banana bread. bar snacks in the evening. the showers are cold. the only choice for supper was a 30 USD buffet and if you don’t feel a lot it is not good value
Debbie (10/5): Exceptional - I really enjoyed my stay at Bocawina and hiking to all the different waterfalls that they offer was the highlight of my trip. It was a beautiful location secluded in nature. The location is a bit remote, so if you stay here, you pretty much also need to eat meals at the resort. I had two dinners and two breakfasts (no drinks) and after taxes the bill was $100 USD without gratuity. The food was good, and most meals were served buffet style, so it was plentiful. However, this seems quite high and potentially cost prohibitive for some.
Madelief (8/5): Very good - The location and room are beautiful and the food is really good. The staff is really pushing for you to choose activities. Also they offer everything in USD instead of Belizian dollar which also makes the prices really high. The taxi transfer is expensive and the dinner as well, there was only a buffet option for dinner but we were not informed about this.
