- William (9/5): Excellent! Loved it. - It is a fantastic place, run by great people. The food was good, excellent service, nice satellite TV, beautiful rooms. Excellent lake and free access to canoes and kayaks. The bathtub is romantic but is awkward to use. There is a shower head, but it is 3 feet long, meaning you sit in the bathtub and shower yourself. Jacuzzi doesn't run all day.
- BRUNO (10/5): - Tout

- Joelle (9/5): I would return - The lake is so beaitiful and private
The staff was friendly and the food was delicious Not much I can think.of negative
- Pascale (9/5): -
Warm welcome extended to me and my dog, good food, beautiful lake.
- Jacinthe (10/5): Exceptional -
- Karine (6/5): No a/c, horrible sleep in the summer - Nice wood property by the water, cute warm vibe. Restaurant on site but we didnt use it. Bbq facilities is a charcoal fire structure not easy to use, I would have brought my bbq if I knew..., I even called to know about the bbq.
No A/C so I couldnt sleep all night. The fans were not providing enough even with the back door opened. Not a good value at 245$ one night.
- Dwayne (9/5): Superb -
- Cormac (7/5): The location was stunning and the view from our room was great. Staff were friendly. - The location was amazing and the chalets were cosy especially living room area. The rooms were poorly insulated and lack of housekeeping (eg emptying of trash).
- Mark (8/5): Lovely location and beautiful lodge. - Beautiful location. Good food and the room was beautifully laid out. The female staff I met were all lovely and friendly and the lady who checked me in was very informative. The male staff were not particularly friendly and seemed a little put out by having guests there at all. But it seems it’s the standard working holiday visa arrangement so your mileage may vary.
Some of the ground floor rooms are located by the large hall so I expect could be noisy if there were people chatting out there. The bath was great and although there was a shower head it was more of a ‘sit in the bath and direct water at you’ affair than anything you could stand up in. Not a problem, but not as handy as an actual shower.
- Danielle (10/5): We will go back.😊 - Everyone was lovely . Beautiful area. Beautiful cabins. Excellent food Absolutely nothing
- Margus (10/5): Recommend - Beautiful place near lake
- Derek (7/5): Good experience. - Good experience Room was great.
- Satay (10/5): Exceptional -
- Patricia (10/5): Exceptional - Great location at a lake, free usage of canoes, kayak and wellness facilities. Real Canadian experience !
- George (10/5): You don’t want to leave - Beautiful place in a stunning location. Absolutely fantastic and friendly staff. Lots of activities included Nothing!
- Carla (10/5): Exceptional -
- Maria (7/5): Enjoyed my time with my husband - The ambiance was nice
Room was clean I was not too excited about seeing a mouse trap behind the toilet bowl
The hand shower in the bath was not working properly
Food was not very tasty at the restaurant
- Anat (7/5): Unwind in nature beautiful lake vacation - Over all very nice and relaxing stay.
Lake is great! Lots of space to hang out, there are chairs and hammocks, and also they have kayaks etc to use!
There are a lot of places to relax outside around the property.
There is a restaurant on the property which is great! Saved us in our first night!
Staff is very accommodating and nice Nothing too bad, just details that would have made it excellent otherwise;
Main thing was the wether. If it’s cold and raining, there’s not much to do. This resort is deep in the woods and it takes a good 25 minutes to get out to the nearest town. So keep that in mind.
Bring food because again, everything is far. There is a restaurant, however the menue does not offer many choices.
No microwave in room.
Also, the internet and satellite tv don’t work great, so if you plan on staying in the room and relax with a movie while it’s raining outside, the tv might not work.
Room was ok, no air conditioning, but we had fans so it was perfectly fine. No shower. There is a bath, but with an attached hose but not easy to take a shower like that.
Mattress was uncomfortable, too soft, we sunk in the bed at night.
To access the lake, it is a small descend down the hill. If you have reduced mobility, might not be easy to access the lake .
- Sarah (10/5): Exceptional -
- Laura (9/5): Superb -
- Cynthia (10/5): - Super belle place. Une famille formidable.
- Shuang (9/5): Exceeded expectation extremely beautiful scenery - Beautiful scenery, quiet
- Nicholas (8/5): Very good - Great location on the lake. Venue has paddle boards, kayaks and boats to use at any time. The guest house is really beautiful. Food at the restaurant is excellent No AC in the rooms, which got a bit hot overnight
- Traveler_6719 (5/5): Passable - Nature around, lake. No air conditioning, shower and even window in the room.
- Anna (10/5): Exceptional -
- Malek (9/5): Superb - Locations and amenities, lovely staff, access to the lake, breakfast, ambient, also close to lake Simon where you can spend a good day out there Nothing! Would come again for sure, but a good revamp for th kids playing area would be a big bonus for families
- Bita (10/5): Exceptional -
- Hilarystringer (10/5): I'm looking forward to returning in the winter. - Incredible service, food, and location. The attitude towards dogs is very welcoming.
- Stefan (10/5): Exceptional - Exceptionally beautiful houses within fantastic nature. Kind hosts. Simply a must-go!
- Andreea (10/5): One of the best places we ever stayed at in Canada - The location, food and staff were exceptional. Rooms were clean and well equipped and the owners were such a lovely family!
- Patricia (8/5): Breathtaking sight, comfortable stay. Would do it again, if I find things to do in the next visit - We liked the place, very comfortable, clean and very receptive/accommodating staff. Facilities available match what was promoted online. Having our pup with us was extra especial and the local dog was very playful and gentle with my pup, also very obedient. The staff was very accommodating on the first night as our arrival was late, they still manage to serve us delicious food at our door :)
Access to the lake/ canoes, and hot tub was great, no extra charge... BONUS!
Registration/ check-in the easiest I had ever
Restaurant was amazing! the atmosphere, the decoration; very cozy. We really enjoyed every single meal I ate.
finally the view.. Oh! what a view.. There was nothing exactly "I did not like" about my stay; however, I would like to make couple suggestions to help future clients' experience.
Google maps was a bit off from the outer road to the location, about 500 meters. Having an illuminated sign indicating the 'Auberge Couleurs de France" would be helpful especially when arriving at night.
Having available brochures of activities, amenities' locations, menus etc would be helpful. it is not easy to find things to do around the area.
I could not find garbage bins on the outside of my room (at least not visible). Having a dog this can be a bit inconvenience since you need to carry their waste to your room?
Prepare maps of the hiking areas, beaches in in the area. As a first-time visitor, I could not find it any in my map, and the one at reception was the only one and could not take it. though I took pictures of it, the original map was not clear
- Alexandra (8/5): great quiet location - location
great staff, friendly and helpful
quiet
outdoor jacuzzi
terrace overseeing the lake for breakfast
possibility to use kayak and pédalo for free small uncomfortable bed
very expensive dinner
very few vegetarian options
for breakfast would have preferred real juice not bottled concentrate . As well as a real basket of baguette bread no matter what.
- Julia (10/5): We loved the place and hope to come back:) - Location is exceptional. Staff is super friendly. Auberge offers everything you need to have a restful getaway - jacuzzi, sauna, a beautiful lake to swim in, bbq, boats and peddle boats to discover the surroundings. We will definitely come back. Nothing comes to my mind.
- Stéphanie (10/5): Exceptional - the location is relaxing. food is good. Access to a lake and hot tubes. mosquitos, but that’s expected in the woods.
- David (10/5): - Amazing place ! Will go again
- Mike (10/5): - Wonderful property, very quiet, relaxing. Great food, very personal service.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great place, really enjoyed staying here, clean and cozy.
- Valeria (10/5): 10/10 - So charming and lovely hosts!
- Ralph (6/5): Location not great - Needed better signage, road needed lighting and paving
- Bruckner (10/5): - Just a 10 hour drive from home and provided the most amazing retreat. Stunning and unique decor, Loved the garden pools and could not get enough of the peace and quiet. Despite the restaurant below the place had a peaceful vibe from everyone there...perhaps the setting inspired that level of reverence for the entire experience.
- Wayne (10/5): - Very nice log house, spacious rooms and very good service. Good food. I will return for sure.
- Xiaoyang (8/5): Beautiful mountain environment - I was there with my husband in summer time. We love it. The lake is nice, clean and enchanted, beautiful pictures The restaurant is very good, nice taste, good service, not a big choise in the menu, but excellent,
The breakfast have to be revised.
The wi-fi a little slow but ok.
A recommendation for those don't like flying g bugs like me, bring a repellent spray.
The firts nigth we got rain, but was so fantastic, the rest we had nice sunny time.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Beautiful place, nice hotel! - It's a great hotel and very beautiful place, with a few entertainment (sauna, spa tub, small games & gin rooms, caiaques, small playground and nice reastaurant), it' perfect for going as a family, couple or with friends!
