Besonders das Onsen hat uns sehr gefallen und den Aufenthalt nochmals entspannter gemacht. Insgesamt eine sehr angenehme Atmosphäre. Die Lage war für uns jedoch eher etwas suboptimal und nicht ganz so zentral. Das western Frühstück war in Ordnung, aber nichts Besonderes. Ebenfalls etwas schade war, dass es im ganzen Hotel nur zwei Waschmaschinen gab.

Matteo (5/5): I had better expectations - The staff was polite and spoke better English than we’ve experienced in most facilities in Japan. The public bath was nice. The room was very small. We booked the room with the king size bed, but we didn’t expect it to have almost no floor space at all (very little floor space to walk on or to open our suitcases). The room was also very hot and very dark.
Greg (8/5): Nice 4 star hotel that could be a 4+ with a couple small improvements. - Generally very nice. Very clean, calm atmosphere, easy to navigate the hotel. Blackout curtains in the room are excellent, easy to control the AC, good sound deadening, nice high-pressure water in bathroom, comfortable beds. Reasonable, although not short, walk from the Kyoto train station. Good restaurants nearby. Hotel restaurant food was unimpressive, hotel bar is QR code ordering which is annoying if you didn't bring your phone (as in, if you came from the basement baths). Staff didn't want to use the espresso machine in the morning for coffee (even after making it clear we'd pay for a cappucino), only wanted to use the drip carafes sitting on the bar buffet. Room had a nice large bed, but very little useable floor space off it and minimal storage: if you have a couple large bags there's nowhere to step around them.

Also the air conditionar was either too hot or cold. The location was also not my faforite as we had to walk at leaset 45-60 minites to all the spots we wanted to see. There is not much to do in the close proximity.

Elysa (9/5): This hotel was great for a homebase to rest and recover after a long day of walking and adventuring! - Loved the comfortability of the beds and how accommodating the hotel was - did not expect to get a refill of amenities when we requested to not have our room serviced and cleaned, very kind and appreciated! The public bath was relaxing after a long day of walking and had many products available - did not need to use personal toiletries! There was nothing I did not like! The staff were always greeting us when we arrived back, the food at the restaurant was lovely, the rooms were cozy - loved the modern aesthetic of the whole hotel! It was a little difficult to roll our suitcases but I think its a wheel issue for the suitcases rather than the carpet of the hallways.

Irma (9/5): - This hotel is excellent, great staff, facilities and location. I would recommend. The division between the bathroom and the rest of the room is a glass wall. There's a curtain that can be pulled to get privacy but the light from the bathroom illuminates the whole room.

Every space feels thoughtfully curated and invites calm and contemplation. The staff was consistently courteous, professional, and attentive, offering a discreet yet warm presence that made the stay effortless and pleasant. A special mention goes to the ofuro, which is absolutely beautiful. It provided a deeply relaxing and restorative experience, a true moment of peace after a day in Kyoto. Hotel Tou is a place of elegance, care, and quiet beauty. I would gladly return and wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone seeking a refined and serene stay in Kyoto.

EMIKO (7/5): 朝食が良い。 - 新しくて清潔です。朝食も無駄がなく美味しかったです。ソファースペースが狭くベットもソファーも低い位置なのでややくつろげない。和式をイメージした作りで素敵そうですが板張りが硬いのとソファーが低いので立ち上がりに疲れる。雰囲気は素敵なのに使ってみた仕様がとても残念でした。

SHISAKO (8/5): カッコいいホテルで、若者気分になれました。 - とってもスタイリッシュで、清潔感があり、カッコいいホテルでした。黒がメインの部屋でしたが、私たちは高齢者なので、設備の表示が良く見えず、ちょっと不便でした。帰りの頃、やっと設備に慣れました。また、空調の吹き出し口近くの布団で寝ていた時、暑くなってしまったので、温度を調整しようと挑戦しましたが、できませんでした。
