- Sudipta Sikdar (4/5): Maximum overnight stay is recommended if you don’t have any other options available - Location is good but approach road is congested. It doesn’t look like a hotel. Room, Bathroom, cleanliness everything needs improvement. Not recommended for people coming from abroad at all.

- Pubali (8/5): Very good -
- Hareesh (8/5): Very good - The location is very close to the Metro station and easily approachable to the nearest market. The staff are courteous and ready to serve. Even though the rooms are regularly cleaned and mopped, sometimes they smell dusty. It is due to the curtains in the room and they are to be cleaned at regular intervals. The swimming pool is relatively small and can be used by children only.
- Pinakin (7/5): Good -
- Steven (9/5): Excellent. We will return! - Open common space was nice. Rooms were big enough and staff was great. Common issue in India is hot water. It would be nice to know how to turn on the hot water heater or just have it on all the time so you could use the shower easily and have a warm one.

- Sk. (7/5): Good -
- Chatterjee (10/5): Exceptional - Totally worth it .
just go for it..... friendly staff with smooth check in..huge room and balcony...pool area was cute ... beyond my expectations
- P (1/5): No sleep. People drinking and partying at top floor and shouting - The place was ok The owners were themselves partying in throughout the night on top floor creating a ruckus for everyone and it felt like I checked into a run down boys hostel. Everyone should avoid the place to maintain sanity. It felt very very unsafe
- Pritam (9/5): Superb -
- Manikandan (3/5): Rating in Booking.com is deceiving - The staff were polite
Slightly secluded location Old property
A LOT of dust collected inside the room everywhere. Dirt huts your eyes and nose hard!
- Sharathkumar (8/5): Very good - Balcony, hall was spacious Routine bf, oily food was given. Wifi was poor
- Anish (8/5): Very good -
- Jaya (8/5): - Staff and management were very cooperative. Food is very nice
- kamalakaran (8/5): is really good because easy excess to airport. - is very good, is really good for family travelling to kolkata.
- Michel (4/5): Loin de tout et mal signalé mais accueillant - Une fois que l'on a trouvé le lieu (inconnu des chauffeurs de taxis...), l'accueil se révèle chaleureux.
- david (10/5): ooh kalkutta - Great hotel brilliant staff its good for the airport and a $4 taxi ride downtown
- Rishi (10/5): Hotel Staff is very co-operating & helpfull.. Food - Hotel Staff is very co-operating & helpfull..
Food is also good...Having pleasant stay......
Good Hotel ........
- kazi Rubayad (10/5): Peaceful n blissful stay. - It was homely , i never felt i was in hotel. Staffs were so hrlpful.Home cooked food .clean n neatly done. Easy access by taxi to town. Acropolis mall n mani squar is not too far from hotel.
- Sangeeta (8/5): Nice place to stay for a business trip. - The staff at the reception was pleasant and helpful. Food is served with cleanliness and was delicious and fresh. Though the hotel is in the middle of a crowded place, it is in between a residential area as well. Wi-fi signals were good.
- Darcy (10/5): Large Room, Lovely Hotel - Stayed four nights in January 2017.
Arrived late and they stayed open to accommodate us. There was a little miscommunication in the length of the booking, so they upgraded us to a larger room after the second day.
The owner was having a party the night we arrived, and everyone was very welcoming and happy to see us.
Bed was comfortable and large and washroom had a closed off shower with modern fixtures and hair dryer. Each floor had a large bright common dining area with new furniture.
Room service was prompt and food was the best we had at a hotel in India.
My wife was feeling unwell so the front desk set up medicine and checked in with us to make sure she was alright and that we had everything we needed.
- Amanda (6/5): Kolkata. Could be worse. - We used Tatvam as a starting point to our India trip. The room itself was fine though we had trouble getting hot water. There is a nice good sized common area with small kitchen which was nice. Hotel is about a 20 minute ride from downtown which makes it quieter. Food we ordered was very good. Try the Bengal Thali...Excellent! Pool was unusable. Full of mosquitos unfortunately. Staff was nice. Decent bookstore across the street.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Professional staff - The staff is helpful and looks professional.
The room is clean and big enough for 3 people.
A/C is good.
The extra bed is a bit wobble but not dangerous.
The pool looks dirty with dust floating in it, I assume not many people used it.
The Wi-Fi speed feels similar to Airtel's edge, with more stability.
When we came back to the hotel at night, the building was beautifully decorated with blue Christmas light.
- Matthew (6/5): Mosquito-Fabulous Stay! - Well, the staff was quite kind and responsive to requests. BUT, to my horror, my first day in the hotel I encountered outdoor-type BUGS everywhere! There were mosquitoes (and aggressive ones!), as well as a critical mass of some unnamed small yet winged bug all over the walls, floors -- and most horribly -- all in the bed! I will concede after alerting the staff to the problem, they acted swiftly to spray the room, which alleviated the issue for a day or two. But unfortunately, I was there long enough for the bugs to slowly start returning.
Also, housekeeping liked to leave your windows open when cleaning the room so a fresh batch of mosquitoes could fully infiltrate the room after I spent half the previous night killing the previous batch.
When they bite it was especially piercing and painful! The mosquito tentacles in Kolkata seems more potent than elsewhere.
Also, the bed was a lil hard for my taste. And you had to wait 20 minutes for hot water to warm up before you could shower. But if you can handle the above, then everything else was okay. I'm sure there's much worse places to stay in Kolkata... you can believe that.
- BHASKAR (8/5): Great value for money, hotel with a personal touch - Booked the room here for my sister based on reveiws read earlier and we were not disappointed. Excellent place to stay and definite value for money. Very good service and persona attention by the hotel staff. The complimentary breakfast needs improvement but that apart it was an overall very good experience.
- Ajay (8/5): Nice - Good and comfortable
- Verified traveler (4/5): Be prepared to pay double taxes!! - The checking-in was very painful. The person insisted on having the passport for both me and my wife. I had other identification documents.
Worst off! I was charged taxes twice. Once by hotel.com and second by the hotel during the checkout.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Pleasant, safe stay - The staff were delightful and the food was very good.
- Verified traveler (8/5): 总体来说很好 - 环境还不错 服务人员很有礼貌就连楼下的警卫也不例外!早餐也很好,午餐和晚餐一般可能跟口味不一样吧。
- Verified traveler (6/5): So so - Location outskirts of Kolkata. Staff not much helpful. Facilities not good.
- shashen (8/5): Nice and quiet location, close to city - Very good hotel, all facility excellent it is recommend for any one.
- Arvind (8/5): Comfortable Stay - Value for money: Overall a good place and good service.
- Faisal (8/5): Excellent Room and Service For the Price - Other than the location and luck of room service after 10 pm, everything about this hotel is great. I would definitely recommend it. The only thing is the location that can turn you off because it is bit far from the city
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great Staff - The experience was great I linked everything with the hotel except its bathroom as its too small for my liking
- Palash (8/5): Stay - Overall a good stay. The neighborhood is not that clean. The staff was very helpful
- Verified traveler (10/5): Excellent competent staff - Great food with good style... Not the typical hotel. Great living room space and dining table available on each floor. Extremely clean.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good stay - Comfortable rooms. Clean and well maintained. Overall very nice
- salim (10/5): Nice hotel wrong location - The hotel is very nice, comfortable room, very helpful staff but only downside is that it's in poor location in middle of a bazar and away from all touristic area. Although staff were very good and got us a taxi every time we requested one.
- Verified traveler (10/5): great stay - very clean hotel.extremely helpful and friendly staff. Good food. Highly recommended
- Phil & Ruth (10/5): Personal Care - Tatvam was an excellent place to stay in Kolkata. The rooms were clean with plenty of space and a communal area on each floor with a kitchen. Most importantly the staff catered for every need including booking onward train journeys and hotels.
- lianyou (8/5): three days in Kolkata - to begin with, my three days spent here were great. the room is clean and airconed, the service is good. it's quiet and comfortable.
it's not a normal hotel that you had stayed in
before. it's more like a four-level apartment, there are four rooms on each level. but you definitely have your privacy.
Some people mentioned that it is hard to find the hotel. yes, ideed it's not on the main road, but it's only about 50 meters to a high way, you just have to make a turn to find it. And it would be easier if you use GPS to navigate.
- J (10/5): Great stay - No hesitation to recommend this place. Very helpful staff. WiFi in room, great food, free water, travel office great for booking tickets. Personalised service, upon check-in I found a Cosmopolitan magazine in my room (woman travelling alone), not that I read it, but goes to show the effort they go to. Location is a little strange but not an obstacle as taxis are cheap.
- RITESH (10/5): Feels like home - Enjoyed time and specially food at hotel. Rooms are big and clean.. room rent are comparatively on a lower side than other hotels. Owners have personal involvement in business, keeping business tight, neat and clean.
- matt (10/5): Great place to escape the Kolkata madness : ) - Booking a room at Tatvam was a great decision. It has a very homely feel and was a joy to return to after dealing with the overwhelming experience that is Kolkata!
The staff were increadibly helpful and went out of their way to ensure I had everything I needed. They helped me buy train tickets, split large notes, book taxi's and negotiate fares, plan trips around the city and introduced me to people that would help me with my business!
- Manish (10/5): Great hotel, with "homely" feeling, odd location - This was a great experience overall... with very friendly and helpful staff and management.
Not really a hotel, more like a service apartments, and the location is odd... but once you are inside the hotel room, you would not notice these issues. The staff makes sure all your requests are met.
Food was great, home like... only issue was that it took a while for them to serve, but they make it fresh and really nicely!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Homely experience - The entrance to the hotel needs an upgrade. It will be a good idea to have refrigerators in all rooms.
- MS (8/5): Nice hotel, super cordial staff - Completely recommended!
Kolkata felt like a second home
Shed your fears and book the hotel
Take sandesh for the hotel staffs as you would finally wanna do that ;)
- Linton (10/5): Great experience! - Fantastic experience at Tatvam. I booked last minute, and they really went out of their way to look after me. The customer service was like that of a 5 star hotel, which made it pleasant. Bed was comfortable, and the rooms are nice. Very affordable for what you get - I definitely recommend it! Thanks to Sonu, Sam and Salman
- pierre (10/5): best hotel we visited in India - Auer taxi driver did not find the hotel so he called the hotel. the reception told the driver the way but the driver had pain to find the hotel and we where late and should be since long time on the hotel. Then the hotel manager phoned me to ask what happened and where we are. we where touched over the care of the management even we did not met before. After arriving to the hotel the manager was on the street to show the way. This care for the guest was during the whole stay fantastic and we felt like at home and we left as friends.
The room was spacious an neatly clean. nothing was missing in the bathroom who was also very clean. Whi fi functioned perfectly and the room service very quick.
the travel desk helpful and professional.
And at last but not at least the food was very tasty and special for us continental people not so sharp. The hit is the special architecture of the room with a leaving room in every floor
I can recommend everybody this hotel where the room rate are realy reasonable. you get much moor than you pay
- debbarma (6/5): good homely comfort. - at first we did face a little difficulty about the location of the hotel, but as soon as we reached, we were greeted with a nice glass of lemonade each and the rooms were freshly maintained with almost all facilities. the staffs were nice and good. food was very hygienic and fresh. Response from all of the people were nice. More ever the rooms that we stayed in was also very well ventilated to natural light.. yes! good stay it was.
