- Louisa (9/5): Our favourite stay in Bali! - Absolutely everything was amazing. It's just like the photos. We also loved the free events every day - we made offerings one day, and Jama juice another day, and took part in the morning yoga. Just make sure you book in advance - we didn't realise you had to and so they still did the offering making with us, but they had to pop into town first to get the materials - very kind of them! The afternoon tea was a lovely touch, and the 30 minute massage was AMAZING. They even gave our 5 year old daughter a foot massage so she didn't feel left out (she loved it). So where this accommodation may seem more expensive than others, it really was worth it with everything included. Having the water temple a short walk down the road was an added bonus - it was so beautiful. Also with just a short taxi drive (or even walk was possible) there are some lovely restaurants round the corner with beautiful rice terrace views. This was our favourite stay and location during our 10 days in Bali. The only reason this isn't a 10 is the wifi. We had hardly any signal in the room. But the hotel is aware of this and are working on it. Also the laundry service was expensive, so we chose to do this at a little place down the road.
- Daniel (6/5): Still my favourite place to stay in Bali, common area needs updating to match the beautiful rooms. - I love the area, its great to be off the beaten track and able to just get out and go for a walk and not be surrounded by tourists. The breakfast was great, not a buffet but plenty of choices and comes with juices and tea/coffee choices and a pastry and spreads basket that makes it feel like a buffet. This was the 3rd time I have stayed at Puri Gangga as we love the secluded nature of the resort and the friendly staff and facilities. I stayed by myself this time and found that some of the facilities feel a little run down, specifically around the pool where the recliners, poolside tables, towel stand and sun umbrellas were all a bit dirty, moss-covered and/or broken. The pool towels were also heavily stained. In previous we have spent lots of time by the pool, ordering drinks and snacks but this time I chose to just use the small private pool connected to my suite.

- estern529 (2/5): Avoid this place - I stayed at Puri Gangga Resort in Ubud in one of their most expensive villas, and I strongly advise others to avoid this property. The experience was deeply disappointing and completely inconsistent with what is advertised from a so-called boutique resort. From the moment we entered the villa, it was clear that maintenance and hygiene standards were severely neglected. There was visible mold on curtains, lamps, and in the bathroom. The room felt damp and poorly cared for. The bathroom in particular was in very poor condition. It had a strong musty, stale smell, felt poorly ventilated, and the roof was leaking, which made the entire space uncomfortable and reinforced the impression of serious maintenance issues. The outdoor facilities were equally concerning. Sun loungers near our private pool were visibly moldy and dirty, which is completely unacceptable, especially for a hotel charging premium prices and operating in a tropical climate where proper upkeep is essential. Breakfast was another major letdown. The bread served was stale and hard, seemingly just reheated in a microwave, only to become inedible within minutes. I do not expect or require bread at breakfast, but if it is offered, it should at least be fresh and properly prepared. The overall food quality and presentation did not reflect even basic hospitality standards, let alone a boutique resort experience. While I understand the challenges of maintaining properties in Bali’s climate, this cannot excuse such a consistent lack of cleanliness, maintenance, and care. When a hotel positions itself as a luxury boutique resort, guests reasonably expect attention to detail and proper upkeep—none of which were present here. In its current condition, this property does not meet acceptable hospitality standards. I would strongly and firmly recommend avoiding this hotel entirely.

- A7357PBannaj (10/5): Peaceful Ubud stay with wonderful staff and delicious breakfast - We stayed here as a family of three with our teenage daughter on our first trip to Bali and it was the perfect place to start our holiday. The resort is quiet, peaceful and surrounded by beautiful greenery, which made it a lovely place to relax. We spent our mornings enjoying the clean infinity pool and relaxing at the resort, then used the free shuttle each day to visit Ubud centre. It made getting around very easy. In the late afternoons and evenings we would return to the resort to unwind again. The restaurant had a great variety of food including authentic Balinese dishes as well as Western options. The pizza was honestly the best we have ever eaten, made fresh including the base. Breakfast was delicious and included in the room price, with fresh ingredients and plenty of choice each morning. The floating breakfast was a special treat and a lot of fun. All of the food was fresh and our whole family felt well during our stay. We also really enjoyed the complimentary massages and the free morning yoga, which were wonderful extras. Most of all, the staff were incredible. So warm, kind and attentive. They truly made our first experience in Bali feel special and welcoming. We are very grateful and will definitely be back.

Beautiful location and resort. - Stunning pool and surrounds with beautiful views over greenery, quiet location compared to ubud, stuff was very nice and engaged, clean and comfortable beds. Everything was absolutely perfect. The bathroom has no window or vent, and the restaurant music was looping after 10 seconds and was quite loud. But would book again.

The location is just perfect spot as even you can come back wet after the purification ceremony. You can also access to holy spring which I could do very early morning to have spiritual experience. I would stay more longer if I’m exploring north Ubud.

After a very long journey and arriving around 2am in the morning, we were welcomed immediately outside by friendly staff, who helped with the suitcases. We stayed in a suite. There are quite a few steps to get to the room, but it was worth it. The room had a four poster king size bed, a balcony, inset bath and separate shower, room service, amenities included slippers/gowns/towels/ toiletries/ tv/mini fridge with chargeable items/air con/humidifier. We were able to request an iron and ironing board, which was left in our room to use. The room was cleaned daily to a good standard. We tried an available massage treatment in the spa area, that included a flower bath. A lovely experience. Outdoor pool is tranquil, with tropical views and sunbeds. We had mixed weather, with torrential rain some days, but it didn’t bother us too much, as we enjoyed relaxing in our room and made use of room service. The restaurant was very nice, with tropical views. Staff were very attentive and friendly. The menu was in fitting with what is offered in Bali, with Westernised options available. Presentation of food very nice. A couple of nights included entertainment with local singers and a Dance show with a meal, which was payable, but a nice addition. Other activities offered included yoga, walks around local area, a craft class, free mini bus into town centre which is around 35 minutes, more with traffic, where it’s bustling with shops and restaurants. A total opposite to the tranquility of the resort. A lovely getaway resort, with some beautiful and luxurious features. Staff are very friendly and helpful, and made the experience extra special. The whole aura of the resort is very calming and relaxing. Had a lovely time.

Der Pool ist wunderschön, die Aussicht sowie die Lage unschlagbar. Wir empfehlen allen, sich mit dem tollen Personal hinsichtlich weiterer Reisetipps zu unterhalten. Wahnsinnig gutes Frühstück, sie hatten auf Nachfrage sogar glutenfreien French Toast! Leider gibt es ein Feuchtigkeitsproblem, in welches der Inhaber dringend investieren muss. So war unser Gebäude von schwarzem Schimmel betroffen; das erste Zimmer hatte eine schimmlige Matratze. Das zweite Zimmer war wegen der Holzdecke besser durchlüftet und daher nicht von Schimmel betroffen. Trocken war es allerdings nicht. Dazu muss wiederum angemerkt werden, dass das Personal sich unglaublich um uns bemüht hat. Das Feuchtigkeitsproblem muss allein der Inhaber beheben. Sofern der Inhaber dieses Problem behebt, ist das Hotel eine tolle Oase und echte Empfehlung.

We last visited in October 2017, and when we decided to return to Bali many years later, we couldn’t wait to come back. We love Sebatu — it’s close to Ubud yet still holds the authentic country charm of Bali, surrounded by jungle and rice fields. We dined at the restaurant every day and the food was exceptional. The rooms are beautifully designed with super comfortable beds, and the service is truly second to none. The team even went out of their way to accommodate our request for a room close by for our 20-year-old daughter, which made our stay even more special. We also booked the Sebatu Village Life Package, which was a real highlight — from yoga and massage to visiting the local waterfall and even spending time with the neighbours in the village. It gave us such a genuine connection to the local culture and made our stay unforgettable. Puri Gangga remains one of our favourite places in Bali, and we look forward to returning again.

Here you’re not surrounded by the usual crowded spots, but you can truly breathe the island’s real atmosphere. The best part is that you don’t even need to leave the hotel to discover Bali: they organize activities and experiences directly with them, in touch with local people, without that overly touristic feeling you often find elsewhere. The staff is incredibly kind, they make you feel like part of the family, and everything is cared for with warmth and attention. A place that stays in your heart and that I would recommend to anyone who wants to experience Bali in a genuine and different way.

- johnbG164FE (10/5): Wonderful place to relax and slow down. - A small resort nestled into the serene hills of Sebatu has everything you need to relax and slow down. My room was spotlessly clean, quite spacious and well appointed, however a bit more storage space would come in handy for a couple. The vista from the balcony was serene. All the staff, from reception and the restaurant through to the room attendants were so polite and attentive without being overbearing by any measure. Lovely people. The restaurant offers a serene vista and constistenly delivered lovely meals that were beautifully presented. Whilst the servings are of a modest size, they are quite ample due to the multiple dishes that come with all meals. I had nearly all my meals there and no "Bali Belly". The resort offers a free guided morning walk through Sebatu. Well worth doing. A short walk takes you to Pura Gunung Kawi Sebatu Temple. For a longer walk, approx 20 - 30 mins - the Holy Water Spring (Melukat Sebatu) or Ulu Petan Waterfall. Both are worth visiting and you will experience the day to day life of Sebatu along the way. Definately worth consdieration if you want to just chill and relax.

- davidwH859BM (10/5): Relaxing getaway north of Ubud - Check in was seamless the staff carried our luggage to our room and while we waiting they gave us tea and snacks. The room was clean and the vibe was quiet. Our room had its own dedicated pool and there is a main pool at the front of the resort. The room has AC that can make it cold and give a reprieve from the heat and humidity. The restaurant had great food, and was prepared well. My wife and I had breakfast every morning (it was included in our stay) and we were never disappointed. Ardi greeted us every morning and we talked and laughed. He made sure to ask us about our stay and was treated us extremely kindly. Also Jo gave us so many options for things to do around Bali that aren’t tourist traps. Jo made sure our experience was a pleasant one. The spa had fantastic masseuses. Anytime we needed a taxi or shuttle they were more than happy to accommodate for an extremely fair price. Whether we need to be dropped off at a location or picked up they always made sure to get us to our destination in a timely manner. If you are looking for a relaxing getaway with a peaceful staff then Puri Gangga Resort is a must stay. Great place to getaway from the crowds!

We stayed for our honeymoon in the pool villa, and on the first night we came in they gave us a call in the morning to see if we’d like to have breakfast even after breakfast hours were over since we hadn’t eaten. They always asked us about our itinerary to help us decide best places to go or offer us shuttle service or a car. We went on a lovely trip with Joe to the swing and coffee plantation, he’s so fun and knowledgeable, he was also so patient with us and wanted to make sure we had a great experience. The room itself is beyond what I expected, so clean and beautifully designed. The bathroom is so spacious and gorgeous that we could probably just live there. The shower has the best water pressure and the hot water keeps going even when we’ve filled the bath and want to use the shower after. Such an amazing experience, I really wish we had booked longer. Highly recommend staying here, and hope to come back one day! Also they offer yoga in the morning, a free foot massage when you first come and their chicken is halal. Amazing experience!! Thank you so much to everyone at the hotel!!

The main pool and garden are also beautiful, and the staff is incredibly kind. I appreciated the kindness of the people and the fact that all the food is beautifully plated. However, the breakfast is not continental. Unfortunately, the cleaning wasn’t up to my standards. The bed sheets and towels were washed, but they were worn and had stains that couldn’t be removed, even after multiple washes. You do not have any other restaurants where to eat near, only their restaurant with few choices. Take into consideration that you are staying into jungle. It rained last night, and the villa ended up being filled with loudly geckos.
