- Theresa (10/5): - Felt like family!....Cliften area was a wonderful recommendation,Thank you for everything.....
- Celine (10/5): - I was travelling with my sister and two nieces 10 and 12 years old. We all had an excellent experience. The host has been very welcoming, providing great recommendations for dinner and very helpful local tips to help with a national unusual situation. Thank you so much!
- Jeremy (9/5): - Emplacement et acceuil super. Petit déjeuner fait le matin par les hôtes et conseils de visite en prime. Rien...
- Rachel (10/5): - Everything! Great location to explore the region. The room was very comfortable.
- Natàlia (10/5): Cap de setmana intens, curt i acollidor. - M'ha encantat el tracte personal de la Mary. Ens hem sentit molt ben acollides, l'esmorzar boníssim i abundant. Els horaris d'entrada i sortida sense inconvenients. Una casa molt càlida i acollidora entre Galway i Clifden. Molt ben situada i silenciosa.

- Julie (7/5): Comfortable but not stellar - Very pleasant owner Could hear everything happening in the bathroom upstairs (not only the flushing!). Breakfast wasn’t great; the eggs might have been from powder, there was mold on some of the fruit suggesting it wasn’t fresh. The walk into town isn’t long but it’s along a very busy road.
- VIRGINIE (9/5): Très agréable séjour - Établissement calme, idéalement situé à l'entrée de Oughterard. Accueil très chaleureux et petit déjeuner excellent ! Rien à signaler
- Jeffrey (10/5): Grand stay .. we’ll be back!! - Mary and Jerry such super care of us! Loved the comfy room/bed, great location for all things Connemara, awesome breakfast .. and the friendliest hosts!!
- Lucy (10/5): Beautiful house and gardens, lovely friendly owners! - Beautiful house, gardens, owners and breakfast! Comfortable bed, great shower, lovely room, close to town and the lake. Loved everything about our stay here.

Rien

- Andrzej (10/5): super! - Wszystko. Doskonała obsługa - pomocna nawet w sprawdzeniu późnej rezerwacji w pubie w miasteczku, bardzo elastyczne. Właścicielka jest wyjątkową osobą - naprawdę życzliwa i elastyczna, dbająca o gości. Pokój bardzo przyjemny. Lokalizacja super. Ogród dostępny też dla gości.
- Martin (10/5): marvellous - the owner was extremely polite and sympathic
- Sharla (10/5): The Clean and Comfortable Carrowntober House B & B - Listen, what a gem this B&B is! From the moment we arrived, we were wrapped in the kind of hospitality that makes you feel like you're staying with old friends, not just renting a room.
We arrived via the CityLink bus, which conveniently dropped us off right outside the house. And in true small-town magic, another friendly passenger overheard us chatting with the driver and chimed in: “Oh, you’re heading to Gerry and Mary’s place?” I mean—how sweet is that? It instantly set the tone for the kind of close-knit, welcoming vibe this area offers.
Mary greeted us at the door by name (a thoughtful touch that made us feel right at home), carried our bags up to our room, and let us know breakfast would be ready in the morning. The room itself was perfect for our trio—two comfy beds, a clean and spacious en-suite bathroom, and a quiet spot on the second floor that let us rest easy after a long day of travel.
Later that evening, their polite and helpful grandson helped us arrange a taxi into town, where we had dinner at the Camp Street Café—a cozy, charming little spot with exactly the kind of comfort food every traveler dreams of stumbling into.
Breakfast the next morning was a real treat. While we waited for our made-to-order selections (which were absolutely delicious), we were offered a variety of other tasty bites to tide us over. What truly impressed us, though, was how thoughtfully they accommodated my mother’s gluten intolerance. Mary had even made a quick run to the store the night before to pick up special gluten-free toast just for her. That kind of attentiveness is rare—and so appreciated.
This place is more than just a bed and breakfast—it's a warm welcome, a friendly face, and a soft landing spot all rolled into one. Can’t recommend it enough! We slept soundly after a full day of travel and exploring—so much so that we hardly noticed anything else! The only small hiccup was running a bit short on hot water during showers. Of course, that’s to be expected in a charming B&B that isn’t outfitted with industrial-sized water tanks. A kind reminder in the bathroom to be mindful of water use might be a helpful touch for future guests. Still, the overall experience was grand!

- Lorraine (10/5): The owners Mary & Gerry were very welcoming and run a fabulous B&B, comfortable and spotless - Beautiful breakfast with lots of choice and fresh produce all made to order. Location was ideal for our visit to Oughterard Golf Club. Bed was a bit hard for me but that's just because I like a soft bed!
- Ververl (10/5): Exceptional - Big nice room, great host. Did us a big favor. Grest breakfast
- Jonathan (10/5): Fantastic B&B Near Galway City! - If you're looking for a B&B outside of busy Galway city, this is it!
Mary was a fantastic host! She brought tea right to our room when we arrived, which was perfect after a long journey. Her breakfast was phenomenal with a wonderful view outside in the dining room. She was happy to answer any questions we had during our stay and an absolute delight to chat with. My missus and stepmother were with me, so we had plenty of space in our triple room and no complaints whatsoever.
Oughterard is a great location. It was 20 or so minutes drive into Galway city, and you're also on the edge of Connemara. So you have the perfect balance of city and country access from this place. And the town itself, which you can walk into from the property, has all the essentials (petrol, corner shop, grocery, pub, etc.).
We will definitely look this place up next time we're in Galway! Absolute class!

Would definitely stay with Mary and Gerry again.

- Mary (10/5): Exceptional - Mary and Gerry are wonderful hosts - Mary made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in the door. I had stayed there before with my family and was happy to make a return visit with friends. The location is perfect for exploring Connemara as well as for visiting Galway. The village of Oughterard is charming and within walking distance of the B&B if you wanted to leave the car behind for the night and go into town for dinner or a drink at the local pub, The Thatch. Mary is happy to make suggestions for trips around the area and her recommendations are always spot on! Nothing - it was all good! I have stayed in many Irish b&bs (as well as ones in the US) and would rate this one as top notch.

- Marko (9/5): Superb - It was a very cosy stay, we deliberately booked a small facility instead of a larger hotel and got what we hoped for. Since we only stayed two nights and wandered around most of the day, we experienced our stay at this B&B in the mornings with breakfast. And it was a very pleasant experience, we all felt very good and relaxed, the owners were very fiendly and helpful. We all agreed that their breakfast is one of our fondest memories from our trip to Ireland.
- David (10/5): Exceptional -

- Martin (9/5): As a place to pause our drive to Cleggan, for an overnight stay, it was perfect. - Breakfast was delicious, plenty of choice & generous helpings.
