- Karolina Aleksandra (8/5): A short, nice stay visit. Good hotel, very nice staff, clean and comfortable rooms. - The area and room - it was nice, cozy and clean. Nothing really to be upset about. The staff was very nice, however it is sad that they dont have enough cover now and cannot fully operate.
- Matteo Alessandro (10/5): -
- Harry (9/5): Excellent stop - Annette said they had limited food because the bad weather (snow++) meant their deliveries had not arrived. But they still had a good range and it was well presented, well cooked and good value. Restaurant would be a bit too well lit and quiet for some but it suited me very well. Room clean and adequate size (single).
- Victor (7/5): - ok for one night stop while traveling in the Highlands in need of refreshment, redecoration, modernisation...
- Moseley (9/5): Decent place for passing cyclists with excellent staff! - Staff were very helpful and responsive, making space in a locked room for my bicycle and keeping the kitchen open for my late arrival (even offering to prepare something for me to eat after hours should my delay be too late). Just really decent people, and a great breakfast the next morning. Nothing - I really recommend this hotel!
- John (7/5): Excellent stopover - Great centre for touring Sutherland Not a lot.
- David (8/5): Lovely small hotel, very clean room, friendly staff - Handy for where I was working

- Juergen (8/5): Sehr gute Unterkunft, sehr gerne jederzeit wieder - Nettes Haus mit sehr freundlichen Gastgebern. Zimmer absolut sauber und in Ordnung.
Sehr gutes und reichhaltiges Frühstück.
Parkplatz für Motorrad direkt vor der Türe. Habe nichts auszusetzen.
- Tracey (6/5): Please get a decent breakfast else where - The comfortable bed it was close to lake The room was small the breakfast was cheap sausages and cheap eggs if your charging £120 you would expect decent breakfast.

- Steve (10/5): Exceptional - Friendly staff, great hosts, food was exceptional

- Donald (8/5): Enjoyed Our Stay - A nice little hotel. Looked recently refurbished. It was warm and cosy in the dining / sitting area. The staff were helpful and friendly.
- Simon (9/5): Well located hotel - Location was great. Staff were lovely. Breakfast was epic. Room was clean and had everything I needed. This hotel is a perfect base for the nc500 if you are a biker, you can do loops out and back to cover the whole route over as long as you wanted. Mattress was a little hard.
- Sharon (9/5): Superb -
- Alex (10/5): Very pleasant experience. I wish I had stayed longer. - I spent 3 nights in a single, en-suite room overlooking the street. The hotel retains an air of antiquity, but was modernized and is very well-maintained. The interior is welcoming with a warm and homely feel to it.
My room was very clean and refreshed every day. The bed and pillows were comfortable. The desk and chair were a plus, so I could do some work on my laptop. Very good wifi, although I didn't use it for streaming films.
The bathroom was small, but suitable for one person. Electric shower with hot water available.
Delicious Scottish breakfast with a choice of cereals and juice (needs to be ordered the night before).
Prompt and courteous service, and overall very attentive and friendly staff; I interacted with four people, but couldn't tell who the owners were.
Spacious car park right in front of the hotel, and a small, but well-supplied convenience store in town. Nothing wrong with the hotel, the room or the staff. The following is not criticism, just a note on the area and hotel opening times.
1. Lairg is a bit remote - more remote than I had realized. It's at least a 3-hour drive both ways (one and a half one way) to reach the west coast (Ullapool, Scourie, etc.). The roads are in good condition, but it's unsafe to drive at the speed limit, especially early mornings and late evenings, as there are lots of deer in the area that can be quite a hazard.
2. The reception opens around 7:30 am and the hotel closes at 10 or 11 pm, although the pub may be open longer. I was put off by this at first, as it looked a bit like a curfew, implying I should be back at a certain time, but staff is very understanding and can make arrangements if leaving early or arriving late. Just let them know in advance.
- Richard (10/5): Exceptional - Clean
Nice room
Friendly staff
Food good Nothing
- Dieter (8/5): A good place to stay overnight while exploring the Highlands - The restaurant serves a great lasagne Stairs - I have a dodgy knee
- Rod (7/5): Highs and Lows - The evening meal was really good and they changed things for my wife's gluten free diet. The breakfast was very disappointing. Had to pre-order the night before, therefore no buffet bar to choose from. No fresh fruit, no option yogurt flavour, no pastries. So sad after such a wonderful meal the night before.
- Alan (8/5): Peaceful relaxing. - Too much scrabled egg and over cooked. Just the scramble egg.

- Katrina (3/5): Room small, basic but did the job for 1 night. Mixed bunch of staff. Didn't feel welcome - Breakfast was fine, server friendly Bar open dependent on (local) customers in, so would be closed at 9 pm. No key to access the building, we had to phone to tell them if we would be late. We arrived back about 11 pm, staff said 'bar is closed" and we went to our rooms without further discussion as felt as if we were a nuisance.

Evening meal, again just a basic pub meal nothing fancy.

Staff very pleasant and always very busy Slow to answer reception, but once I had noticed a sign stating that the Hotel was short staffed and to expect a delay then I stopped pressing the Bell. Receptionist not only worked on reception but bar and restaurant too.
