They certainly made our stay so enjoyable. They helped me keep the surprise for my husband as he didn’t know the family were arriving the next day and they both went out of their way to make sure the plans went smoothly. Nothing we didn’t like. We felt comfortable in the bbq area and around the pool. Location is excellent to main area of Port Douglas

• Victoria (10/5): Absolutely relaxing and perfect! - We had an amazing stay! Our apartment was spacious, super clean, and well equipped. The bed was so comfy, and the washer drier was so handy to have. The pool area was perfect, with beautiful palm trees that made it feel like an oasis. There’s a great BBQ and even a comunal fridge so you don’t have to run up to your room to grab things if you’re bbq’ing or having a drink. Location is superb - a short stroll to the marina, main street and 4 Mile Beach. As far hosts go, it doesn’t get any better than Amanda and Peter. They were so welcoming, warm and hospitable. They really made our experience unforgettable. We were there with family planning a surprise and Amanda and Pete helped us out from the moment we booked. Hard to come across hosts like this nowadays. An absolute pleasure staying with them and we will return!

• Bianca (10/5): Welcoming, friendly, relaxing - ThI hosts Peter and Amanda were lively. Welcoming, and went out of their way to help. My daughter forgot her laptop charger, so they found a charger and we borrowed the charger for our stay. It meant she could do homework.

The accommodation was very clean with everything we needed for a self catering family holiday. The location was excellent with tge main street only a couple of minutes walk. It really us the hosts that makes the Outrigger special that extra special.

Their knowledge of the area and tours make things easier. The location is great and a couple of minutes drive from town. Most tours will pick you up from in front of the Outrigger which makes things even easier. The pool is great to use as well. Would highly recommend. Can't think of anything

• Gideon (10/5): Ideal location for a Port Douglas Queensland stay. - Well equipped and immaculately clean. With both air conditioners and fans the unit was always comfortable. The location to the town was in walking distance and the property was in a very quiet area. Great pool. The hosts Peter and Amanda were great and were always available to answer any queries or give recommendations and advice with regard to available tours. Wifi performance is great. Nothing
• Horrocks (8/5): Pleasant family accommodation close to town - Good location for family holiday within walking distance to town and Marina. Having one shared bathroom that included the toilet and laundry was challenging for a family. Would book a two bathroom next time. We had neighbours who were very early risers and liked to sit and talk on their balcony at 6am which was right next to the main bedroom.

We were made to feel very welcome upon arrival, gave us the lay of the land and ensured we had everything we needed. Booked tours and activities for us as well as organising our airport pick up / drop off. The unit was equipped with everything we needed, was comfortable and very clean, only a short walk to cafes, harbour, beach etc.

• Meredith (9/5): Welcoming and comfortable accomodation, in a perfect location. - Was such a pleasant stay. Amanda and Peter were so welcoming and accomodating, particularly of my baby daughter. The apartments are perfectly located and have everything you need to keep you comfy for a stay in Port Douglas. It isn't the glamour resort of some of the $$ places around Port Douglas, but I would take Amanda and Peters hospitality and the comfort of the Outrigger any day.

The location was perfect, close to town, close to the beach, but in a quiet street. There was also a fridge and desk where people left food as they left. • Deslie (8/5): A convenient location in Port Douglas - Fantastic location - walk to Port Douglas shops, beach and the wharf. Kitchen was well supplied to prepare simple snacks when we were not eating out. We enjoyed relaxing with a drink on the balcony in the afternoon. We had to buy our own toilet paper. Not very convenient when we had no car and had to carry loo rolls home. Soap supplied was very limited. One tiny bar for the apartment between 3 guests felt a bit stingy. The other places that we stayed on our trip all supplied bathroom products generously so we did not bring our own and had to go and buy soap. I don't think these are huge expenses but providing them would have made a difference to the convenience of our stay.

• Ashley (3/5): Basic accommodations with great hosts - Hosts are very nice and helpful, I suspect the positive reviews are mostly due to their hospitality. Location is convenient to harbor and main street. Very lush surroundings. Quiet building. Apartments have full kitchens and laundry. It was uncomfortable for me and my 70-something parents. Beds are extremely hard, linens cheap and and pillows thin, and my parents like firm mattresses. We had to change hotels after 1 night. There was no misrepresentation in the listing per se, the unit just was quite uncomfortable in reality. It’s an older accommodation with dated appliances, low quality details, and bathroom/kitchen just felt a little… ick. We just needed a slightly more maintained and upgraded facility to feel rested and comfortable. To each their own. May not matter to other travelers, but we needed comfort more than a bargain it turned out.

Amanda and Peter's welcome was warm, friendly and both went out of their way to help. Central location for a holiday maker to walk to beaches, shopping, and dining. The apartment is spacious, air-conditioned, and the appliances are first class quality. Superb choice. Highly recommended.
• Andrea (7/5): Lovely stay. Wonderful hosts. I would likely try another facility if I were to return to the area. - The owners are lovely. Friendly and really want to make sure the guests are happy. Close to town. Very clean. Air conditioner feels amazing! It wasn’t a quite as stocked as most short term rentals I have been to with regards to amenities. There are some things to “get you started” like a couple of rolls of toilet paper and 1 pack of laundry soap, a couple of tea bags and some instant coffee. Needed to restock and supply the rest of your own stuff like shampoo, conditioner and hand soap. Just would’ve been helpful to expect it as I would have been better prepared. Beds not very comfortable.
