Robert (9/5): Pleased. - The location was perfect to explore sights which included Luray Caverns, New Market Battlefield and Skyline Drive. After a long hot day of sight-seeing the swimming pool was very refreshing. Filter in the A/C should be checked.

Great location near JMU where my son goes. The views from our golf side unit were awesome. Food great! Shower head needs replacing. That’s it.

Julie (6/5): Just a stop over - My room was terrible, it was on a side entrance near ice machine which mad noise all night plus the dehumidifier running all night was hard to listen too, and the mattress was horrible, im sure a got a room that was not upgraded yet, but i paid the upgraded price anyway

Nice view of the golf course. Miller’s restaurant had pleasant staff. Only ate breakfast there, but lunch/dinner menu looked adequate. Bed seemed a little too soft.

Michael (8/5): Ok for overnight stay before AM golf - Room was as expected, resort has some age so not a lot of moderization. Bed had foam matteress which wasnt the most comfortable I've slept on. Also drain in tub/shower didnt work well and ended up in ankle deep water by end of taking shower.
Fernando (8/5): Place was OK but I couldn't rest properlly for the maintenance of the golf court they start 5:30 AM - I like the room, the staff is great. Start cutting grass 5:30 AM in the morning next to my window until the time I left arounf 10:00 AM. Very annoying.

Jayne (5/5): It was the most expensive room that we stayed in on our way home from Florida, but it was disappointing. - Pretty view No bathroom amenities except 1 bar of soup. A small coffee maker without coffee. The stairs closest to the room were rusty old metal stairs that began in the dirt. The outdoor area outside the room had cracked concrete. There was one small bottle of Kirkland water that had already been opened.

It would be nice if there was a screen on the patio door to allow the option of letting in fresh air. There were wasps swarming around the patio, so I did not feel comfortable leaving the door open to get air.

The breakfast and the grill was not included, but reasonably priced and very good. Downside was road noise from I-81 that lasted into wee hours of the morning. Microwave in the room would have been nice to reheat our leftovers.
Verified traveler (6/5): Comfortable and clean - Clean and comfortable hotel. These are older 1960s style hotel but clean. There was a dehumidifier in our room that ran and we emptied lots of water during our stay. Both my husband and I felt like our skin was dried out but we also aren’t used to the cooler temps we encountered this week here. No shampoo in rooms so make sure to bring your own. Very quiet in the back area where we stayed and that was what we wanted. All in all I would stay there again. New Market is a good location to get to many things I. The area. We enjoyed some good hikes while we were here.

Trip773006 (10/5): Nice area - Great check in and room was lovely. Nice and clean and spacious. Visited the restaurant and it was excellent. Only issue I had was the pool was closed and after a 6 hour drive was looking forward to a dip. They never told me pool would be closed when I booked. Apart from this issue I would recommend the hotel.

Megan (9/5): Superb - Beautiful Views and great location. Clean room. Nice staff. My fiance uses a cane so getting a second floor room without an elevator was a challenge. There was a VERY NOISY LOUD PARTY in the parking lot Friday night that were out of control and disturbing everyone in the hotel; I recommend you have security patrol and keep things like this from happening. There are NOT enough electrical outlets in the room; you should add more!

Jaelyn (2/5): Not the quality stay expected - Bed was comfortable and clean. Room had a large mini fridge. Due to heavy rain, the pool was closed. There was a wasp nest on the balcony with bees swarming, so I wasn’t able to enjoy the view. It’s an older motel, and the water took forever to turn hot. There were dead bugs in the bathroom. And a chair in the room broke a few minutes after I sat it in, which was clearly already broken.

June (10/5): 43 mile Yard Sale over night trip. - Everything was excellent, 1st time staying there. Bed was perfect, Pillows very comfortable. Front desk personnel was very friendly and helpful. Will probably stay again in October.

Robin (8/5): A comfortable place to lay our head after a long trip - We stay at Shenvalee 4-6 times a year. This was the first time in the rooms by the pool. Loved the room except Toliet placement. Had a great meal at Millers and the bed was comfortable and love the pillows and towels. I had forgotten shampoo and the girl at the desk gave me some which i appreciated. We love the place. The plastic toliet bowl seat slid around when you sat on it and almost caused an issue with falling and the toliet was so close to the wall made things difficult. The tv stations had a message say they were sorry but the was difficulty sending a signal and to contact the company and most channels were pixilated. Not really Shenvalee’s fault. We had wanted to enjoy the pool but a child was screaming and throwing a pool floaty as his parents were enjoying adult beverages. A lot of it is me being picky but after traveling for 12 hours I was tired. Sadly this was not my favorite visit. Looking forward to the next visit in a couple of weeks

Frederick (8/5): Recent Family get together - Very nice area attractions close by. Rooms are a bit dated and could use an update. Staff was attentive and pleasant. If your looking for some kind of night life this isn't the area. The town seems to roll in the sidewalks by 8. Golf course seemed to be well taken care of. Beautiful view of the Mountain/Golf course from the balcony room.
Thomas (4/5): Not a "Resort" - At check-in I asked where a 7-11 or food store was. Receptionist said she doesn't live here only drives in to work and home again and can't tell me. Hoped for a "I find out & let you know". Expected a "Resort" accommodation but found a common no star motel atmosphere. Room was clean but the balcony...I'll attach pictures. Judge for yourself. Sliding door did not close completely without getting that hook in. Restaurant on premises closed long ago. Had no housekeeping at all. Could fix some coffee the first morning with little machine in room, but that was it. Was glad there was an extra roll of toilet paper. Had to waste a lot of water to get hot water out of sink faucet. Beds were on the hard side.
