Guest Reviews
- Verified traveler (2/5): - They did not accept my reservation, had to look for another place last minute
- Verified traveler (2/5): bed bugs - there was bed bugs and the towels were stinky. the toilet sit was loose and toilet nasty. tv was super small, bed was uncomfortable , pillows super small ..just terrible .. you get what you pay for. the wifi barely came in
- Verified traveler (2/5): NEVER AGAIN - It was disgusting. The front desk attendant looked intoxicated. And there was a crowd of people in front of the room. I did not stay there nor would i ever recommend it to anyone.
- Benjamin (2/5): Just Ghetto looking dirty room. - Room was awful no towels no toilet paper nothing. Had to ask for it. Which the staff was polite. But the room was dirty, you get what you pay for folks. Wouldn't stay there again.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Not a nice place to stay - Restroom didn't flush, rooms smelled
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Bad experience
- Jessica (2/5): My only and last time!! - We stayed just the night because my bf was taking an national exam so we found this for $35 basing on the pics it didn't look that bad. But o surprise when we got there the place and the room was nothing compared to the pics it was full of ghetto people and the rooms were horrible! But again what did we expect for that price we literally went to buy a sheet set to put in the bed and the pillows because they were nasty and there was no way we were sleeping with the sheets it had..never again I will stay in this place again!!
- Pebbles (4/5): needs improvement - No one ever answered the phone. We had to wait almost 10min for someone to come to the front desk.
- Gloria (2/5): SCARED FOR OUR LIFES!! UGLY HOTEL!! - Our overall experience was awful infested with crack heads. We got our door knocked on twice 2-3 am asking for money...then at 4 am big argument broke out in the room next door and the guy broke down the door and blood splattered everywhere cops where called and he was fighting with them we where terrified and scared for our life's wasn't save at all good thing my 4 year old son was asleep and didn't here anything...i have never been so scared in my life like that day that I couldn't even sleep all night... DONT RECOMMEND IT AT ALL!! NOT FAMILY SAVE!! wish I can get my money back but I don't think it's possible...
- kevin (6/5): It was an ok room - The neighbors smoked inside the room made our room smell, we complaint but nothing happened, there was roaches the shower was filthy we had to clean.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Horrible Motel - Dingy, Dirty, Not Safe - The red flag should of been the ambulance that was parked outside when I arrived at the motel. There are homeless people that hang out around the complex and multi sketchy people walking around the court yard. The pool did not have water in it and the rooms were poorly lit. The sheets were a dingy white color and the pillows lacked cleanliness.
I booked two nights but I only could stay one due to me not feeling safe there.
- Billy (2/5): Very Sorry! - They gave me a room that was as far away form safe parking as possible. There were people in the room next door that were drinking and partying ALL night, and were still outside the room door when I left the next morning with a can of beer in their hand, yelling and screaming. The pillows were almost nothing, and there was no toilet tissue in the restroom.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Disappointing - We asked for a non-smoking room and as we opened the door to our room it smelled like completely like Smoke. So disappointing.
- Mindy (6/5): You get what you pay for, I guess. - The best thing about this hotel was that it kept us out of the rain. The second good thing was that our room had ceramic tile flooring, instead of the usual nasty old motel carpet. Thirdly, the large refrigerator in the room worked well and was clean. The air conditioner worked well and did not have the mildewy smell that a lot of older hotels have. Here are my complaints: There was one towel for two people. No wash cloths, no bathroom mat. When my husband went to get a second towel, it was not given with good grace, so to speak. And no holder for toilet paper, but at least we had toilet paper. Then there was the closet - nice open space, no bar, rack or anything from which to hang clothes. Third, and most outrageous to me: the pillows were old, lumpy, smelly. Luckily, I had a beach towel in the car to roll up for a pillow. For a few bucks at Walmart, the owner could have made this a motel we would have come back to, because it was a reasonable distance from the beach, and the landscaping was lovely. And we got a good deal on the room rate.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - I would not recommend this hotel/motel. it does not have any sense of security or clean.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Pretty satisfied - Room was a lil muggy, the vanity mirror was cracked n was a bit dusty. Overall it was an awesome stay, this is the 3rd time my boyfriend n I have stayed there this month alone. I can pretty much guarantee that we will continue to stay for more weekends to come. Thank you.
- Kevin (2/5): It was the w.orst hotel I have ever stayed at!!! - It was the w.orst hotel I have ever stayed at!!!
- Christopher (2/5): worst motel ever - The worst motel I have ever stayed at. Room was horrible, one light, one towel, no chair for desk and bed was horrible.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Don't stay - Never will stay at a Hotel like this I will not recommend this hotel to no one. Hotel service was ok seemed like when you ask them about something you were bugging them but they did try to help at the end. Room was not comfortable at all when I first arrived I tried 2 rooms and they were horrible finally found 1 to sleep in not much better from the others. Read the other reviews and it’s all true 1 towel, bed needs replacement, TV didn’t work, didn't offer another towel after being there more than 1 day etc..
- David (2/5): Dont do it!!! - The worst hotel I've ever stayed at... Gross!
- David (2/5): DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!! - It smelled like weed... Really bad.... The worst hotel I've ever stayed in...
- Maria (6/5): Comfortable Hotel on a Budget - A great place to stay if on a budget. Very friendly receptionist.
- PH (6/5): Great hotel and staff, bad guests. - The people who stay at this house are not the safest location. If you stay and your room and don't interact with them you will not have a problem.
- josie (2/5): you get what you past for - The room reaked of cigarette smoke and it was not inviting at all.. ..
- Verified traveler (4/5): A room - Not my best hotel experience.
- juan (2/5): nasty - Nothing good to say
- Dede (2/5): Last minute book in Harlingen - I should have known better than to book a hotel with a "no cancellation" policy. This place was so terrible we left and drove 3 1/2 hours home. We got there and knew right away why it was a budget hotel. The place was dark. The parking lot was poorly lit and so were the walkways. The office ceiling was missing, covered by lattice. The lady at the desk showed us 3 rooms. The first room had a broken mirror. The second room had a broken lamp. The third room, was just disgusting to be in. The furniture was very old and the beds offered no support. You just sank when you sat on them. There was a ladder in the middle of the walkway. When I ask the manager if they were remodeling, she said "no". I guess they leave equipment out in the way of the patrons all the time. Par for the place. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Nor would I recommend Expedia continue business with Su Casa if you care about repeat customers.
- Alex (2/5): Nobody at night to delivery the keys - We arrive late in the night and there were nobody at the front desk to delivery the keys, so we need to sleep at the car in the parking lot until 8am when front desk was attended.
- Michael (2/5): Terrible - The room was very filthy, the staff were not knowledgeable, there were no amenities, the linens were worn out and filthy and the restroom was horrible filthy.
- Verified traveler (2/5): DO NOT STAY HERE !! This is your warning... - 1st room I entered had beer cans everywhere and 1 dirty towel.Second room had 1 clean towel.Toilet and tub was clean so I kept room. There was a empty beercan but at least it was in bathroom waste basket.Floor was tiled and not swept so there is no way it was mopped.Non refundable so i slept on top the bedspread in my clothes and wore socks.I could go on but just take my word for it this is the worst.I wish someone had warned me.
- Jackie (2/5): horrid host - Room was dirty, smelled and not safe. Manager had locked hotel and could not access hotel. We had reserreserved the room and someone in the lobby was handing out keys. Very unprofessional and sketchy. Never be back. Hooked roach motel
- kerry (2/5): Terrible Hotel - Would never stay again! - There were no towels, face towel etc.. There were two party's going on in between my room. I could not get any sleep and had to be at work the next morning. I would not recommend anyone to stay here.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - In four days they never cleaned my room, curtains didn't fully block the window, only one medium towel, there was a leak in the bathroom from the room above that dripped into the tub, the had no idea I had a reservation and they seemed to be perplexed by my Expedia reservation.
- Tom (2/5): I will never stay here again - Tile floor was dirty throughout (no carpet), no mattress pad on mattress (just sheets), no floor towel for the bath, bath towel was bleach stained and ratty, no ice machine, no daily maintenance, noisy residents until late at night - I left halfway through my scheduled stay to move to a motel with daily service, carpet on the floor, quiet residents, and a better bed.
- Charlene (6/5): good location - It was a very good location, If the bed was more comfortable and if it had a refrigerator it would have been better
- Lori (4/5): - I didn't like the people outside the room having a party and not being courteous of other's sleeping. the stay was just over night.
- Sara (8/5): Need new mattresses - For a one night stay its ok... clean room and bathroom... great location
- Sean (10/5): Great stay - Great value, great staff, and good overall hotel conditions. AC worked well, wifi was good, and location was very close to restaurants and gas stations. I will definitely stay here again.
- mary (4/5): it is what it is - not the first time we stay there, its cheap, should try cleaning a little more, could use it,,
- Verified traveler (4/5): Very shady guests - The hotel was clean and the staff were polite. But there were very shady guests just hanging around the outside, asking for cigarettes, and threatening violence if they were looked at "the wrong way".
- Verified traveler (4/5): - I don't care to write a review just know that we will never stay at this place again...
- Verified traveler (2/5): Bad Hotel! - My Stay---I'didnt! I got the hotel. Approached the entrance. The front entrance was locked, and, there was a adjacent "teller window". The window has a heavy bars and a slot to accept paperwork for signing in. I rang the bell and the front clerk arrived. I asked to see the room. I couldn't get the key to open the door, so I had to have the clerk come and open the door for me. The room was old, worn, poorly furnished, and just a "dump"! I told the clerk I would not stay and did not expected to be charged any fees. I left. If I were Hotels.com, I would not even have this place on the list. So, check it out for yourself. Regards, Pete Rochon
- Tony (2/5): Don't do it... - Pay 20 bucks more to stay at a safe place. All I have to say.
- me (8/5): cheap price for just night stay - cheap price, I was just there to sleep and shower and move on, I showed up at 2 am, some one was there, it wasn't a fancy resort but it's not ugly out side, the room was descent for the price , was really clean, and a cold a.c..... definitely recommend it despite it only got like 2-3 stars here....
- Verified traveler (6/5): Good value for the money - It is right next to the highway, alot of eateries including starbucks. The room is big, clean. It is a bit old, but for the $, it is worth it.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great. - Upon arrival Chris was very helpful, & also didn't mind that I changed my room last minute. Rooms were okay, we were only there to shower & sleep so it was perfect for us. Wouldn't mind staying there again on another last minute trip.
- Soccer dad (6/5): Good lodging for the price - Check-in was quick, staff was prompt and courteous despite my late arrival. Hotel is older but it is kept clean. Very reasonable rate, I would stay there again and would recommend.
- F A (4/5): ok but not again - The stay was below the expectations but only because the hotels.com rep over the phone said it was just as nice (clean & comfortable) as a Super8 hotel. And if definitely was not. I would not have stayed in a hotel as run down and uncomfortable as this hotel. It was very cheap so you get what you pay for. It was worth the $35 a night. But I'll stick to the $60 a night places. Thanks.
- Butch (6/5): Good Enough. - Wifi, a bit weak , but works. Modern flat-screen TV, with Cable, Connections are good for external input. Have to pay for ice. Bottom floor floods a bit in bad rain storms, but not enough to cause any damage and it drained out in a couple of hours. Good Air-conditioning / heating unit.. Plenty of hot water. Stayed for four (4) nights and will use again the next visit to Texas. Wife not happy , but I'm impressed for the price. Gated Rooms and parking lot.. Over-all, I thought it was good enough.. Much better than a tent on a sandy beach.. My Wife's idea of camping out is a Winnebago.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Hot water outage when I arrived. But the hotel reimbursed my charge.
- Brenda Ayala (6/5): Great place to stay - Need breakfast such as cereal, fruit and etc....
Other than that is so great.
- Tom (8/5): - Nice accomodations for the cost & nice, personable Manager.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Smells like cigarettes - Rooms smell like cigarettes and furniture & sheets were extremely old. We were offered a new room but the over powering smell was just as bad. We ended up having to check out and go somewhere else.
- Paul (10/5): - Hotel manager Chris is a great guy. Very friendly and made out stay a joy. Beautiful place with lovely plants. If we go next time to Harlingen, Su Casa is where I will see first.
- Mike Wilson (10/5): Very Helpful - I had a situation where my daughter and some friends were driving to S. Padre from Michigan and they ended up needing a place to stay before they could get in to their resort. I found Su Casa on this site and called them. Chris, the Manager, was extremely helpful with their last minute REALLY late night arrival and made sure that they had a room that accommodated her group. I didn't stay there myself but I was able to sleep better that night knowing that Chris had taken care of everything to make sure that my daughter and her friends were safely tucked in for the night. You can't ask for better customer service....especially since I was 1000 miles away. Thanks Chris!!
- Majic Stick (6/5): Great concealed place - Great place for the mistress. Will definitely use again.
- Joy Love (10/5): - The Manager, Chris was extremely helpful and is always smiling! Thanks Chris for your help! :-)
- Verified traveler (8/5): great place - Nice clean and spacious
- Juan (8/5): - Everything was good but rooms need to be sealed up better because my room smelled like alot of smoke.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Don't bother - This is a prostitution/drug haven. Police signs all over it, didn't even bother to stay after I saw it.
- Rick (8/5): Just what I needed. - Needed relief from the long drive. Good place for a "quickie" nap, secluded from prying eyes....
- Micheal (4/5): Beware of what you're getting here. - If you're looking for a cheap alternative to Motel Sux this is it but beware going in what you're getting. Room 109 didn't have pillow cases on the pillows and didn't have enough cover on the bed. The heater didn't work right and there weren't any cups or an ice bucket in the bathroom. When I asked the night clerk about cups his response was "they're cutting back..." Huh? How expensive can cups be! Room 109 doesn't have a fridge and ice costs .25 cents but you don't have anything to put it in even if you wanted it.
The only plus to this room was the tile floor is a good alternative to grungy carpet and it was surprisingly clean for a budget motel. Not the usual piles of hair behind the bathroom door.
Would I stay here again? ONLY if I knew all this going in because you'll arrive totally unprepared to bring half the stuff you need with you for a comfortable stay. This is the type of place where you come for a week or more, not a one night stay. The bath soap bars are so small you can't really use them...little things make this a less than desriable stay.
- Hgn girl (6/5): Get what you pay for - The place is ok if you want something cheap. The bed was squeaky and seemed smaller then usual but it served it's purpose. Other guest appeared to be kind of shady would wander around so much after dark.
- Renee Manderscheid (6/5): nice area - The stay was very good.except for the fact we found out if we booked directly the price would have been cheaper.
- fred (2/5): bad choice - bad choice it is in need of hotel impossible no shampo full size hard bed homeless next to place nice clerk good attiude but place need alot of work upgrade
- Su casa inn (6/5): Alv - It was ok
- Gus M (10/5): Nice hotel in downtown - We really liked the hotel, the staff is very pleasant and nice. They helped us with all the touristic information we asked them for. Since the hotel is in downtown, you have many options from bars and restaurants specially at night. The room was simple but clean. We definitely are coming back to Su Casa Inn for our next trip.
- Jacek (2/5): - Basic ,clean room, poor WiFi signal, no short hangers
- g (6/5): Okay in a pinch - Average stay. Hotel in the process of upgrading. Good value for a bed. Room was clean. Management staff was super friendly. Would stay again.
- Don C (4/5): Left wanting - 1st, No face towels on sink 2nd, No alarm clock in room 3rd, No Kleenex tissues 4th.comode flush lever was leaking Compared to other hotels that we staid at in Dallas & El Paso TX. It was sub par for the price charged!!
- Dave (6/5): Cheaper but far from some points of interest - Was fine, attention from hotel staff was right :)
Smoking rooms smells a lot.
The swimming pool was closed all the time.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Affordable, comfortable, and everything so close! - Didint find a Hotel near Mcallen, but no need, I was able to shop everything was so close
- Frank (10/5): Close to my family - I had no problems with anything.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Recent Stay - When I arrived to check In after 3:00, no one was on property to properly check Me In. One of the Housekeeping Staff gave a Key.
Only One Towel, no cups or Ice Tub.
No housekeeping on the second day.
Overall, very Run Down Location and Dismal place.
- BOB (2/5): BEWARE - I DIDN'T EXPECT ANYTHING FANCY BUT I WAS TOTALLY DISAPPOINTED. 1) IT SHOULD TELL YOU SOMETHING WHEN YOU CHECK IN AT A WINDOW. LOBBY IS LOCKED.2) NEEDS RENOVATION BADLY - BED LINENS FADED AND WORN, FURNITURE THAT IS TORN, ROOM BARE, NIGHT LAMP DIDN'T WORK , SMALL TV 3) NO SERVICE- I SMALL TOWEL PROVIDED. HOTELS.COM SHOULD RECONSIDER LISTING THIS FACILITY UNTIL THE FACILITY BRINGS ITSELF UP TO ACCEPTABLE STANDARDS.
