Ny Ando (4/5): - The room smelled strange, the lights don’t work in the bathroom, and I wasn’t even given a towel. The only reason it’s not a 1 star is because the staff was helpful and responsive.
TENG (2/5): - Never choose this place!Thieves are rampant here!The first time I stayed in a hostel, my cash was stolen. Although there were only three people in the quadruple room I chose, my bag was turned over while I was sleeping, and the total loss was about 1,000 pesos. The hotel did not provide any locks, and it did not provide any help afterwards. I was very disappointed.

Toda la noche las personas de lobby estuvieron hablando y las habitaciones no están insonorizadas, se escuchaba su conversación durante la madrugada. La habitación necesitaba limpieza pues había mucho polvo. La relación calidad/precio no lo vale.

Felix (4/5): - The staff was nice and easygoing. However, there was a lot of noise due to construction or a shop next to the building. The washroom was clean, but everything was run-down. There were tons of spider webs in the corners of the room, the pool was closed, the hand soap was mostly water, and the towels had a strange smell. However, it is very close to the bus station, which is a plus.

Verified traveler (8/5): Great location, staff and facilities - I was upgraded to an apartment on arrival which was really welcome after a long flight. The room was clean, everything worked, it’s a 2 minute walk to ADO bus station. All staff I encountered were very helpful and friendly. Some noise from the bar below at night but didn’t bother me.

Kayla (10/5): Cozy, Convenient & Safe! - This location was a quick last-minute buy due to a delayed flight and missing the ferry to Isla Mujeres. It is conveniently located one block from the ADO bus terminal. I was unable to explore the amenities they listed like co-working spaces and a pool so no comment there but the location was very spacious, nicely decorated and well labelled. For solo travel I felt very safe. The room was cozy but hot until I got the AC going and the sheets were clean but could use a bit of scented fabric softener or something. They smelled clean but slightly metallic, almost like too long in the dryer etc. But that's truly my only comment! The staff were friendly and they upgraded my private room to an apartment after a long and very frustrating travel day. Thank you Selina staff! I appreciate you.

Jacquelyn (2/5): - With so many other options within blocks, this is the worst place to stay. We complained immediately about water leaking from the light fixtures and random holes in the ceilings. Literal pools of water were constantly on the floor, and both the toilet and shower had mold. Not to mention there’s an actual window (TITTIE HEIGHT IN THE SHOWER… free peep show for those walking on the sidewalk). The front desk staff showed no interest in its guest comfort… like, at all. No one even greets you because looking up from their phones is too much to ask for. Just no.

Zuzana (6/5): einfach, ziemlich laut, ok fuer nicht anstrengende - We changed a booking from a nice hotel to this hostel (a private room) for our last night in Mexico only because of its location very close to the bus station, so that we could reach the airport easily the next morning. Couldn't take advantage of the breakfast as it's served from 7:30 am onwards and we were advised to be at the bus station 20 minutes beforehand, which would leave us 10 min only. The room was alright, nothing fancy, good toiletries but no hairdryer, and unfortunately they didn't help me even at the reception (none in the common showers either). There was a lot of noise throughout the day and evening but I have to say the quiet hours (around midnight) were respected. Looks modern and fun, no frills, but could use some improvements.

Diana (2/5): - Huele feo cuando entras a tu dormitorio( a caño) hasta que se medio ventila mejora el olor y eso que alquile una habitación no compartida y ni siquiera tenía el refrigerador que sea vía en las fotografías, todos los empleados son unos apáticos, menos una chica que está por las mañanas. Lo único rescatable es la ubicación pero por este precio puedes encontrar una mejor opción (hablo de las habitaciones no compartidas) Espero y la gente lea las reseñas yo no lo hice y fue el peor error, ojalá trabajen en todo lo que opinamos por que no soy la única compartiendo este tipo de experiencia.

Lots happening in the hostel at night and a nice vibe from the travellers staying there. Great sunset view over the pool at night. The check in and check out staff were unfriendly and dismissive. Bar staff also seemed disinterested. Breakfast was good, rooms basic but good enough.

Y el envase que tenía contenido NO era jabón, si lo fue ya no hacía la función, (se percibía mal olor del envase)

Annelise (2/5): - We've stayed at many Selinas in the world - this one is not in the same class as the others, it gives them a bad reputation. This Selina was dirty and delapitated, unkept and the service was not close to comparable to usual staff at selinas. Should not be able to use the same name. Would never stay here again.

The staff is not welcoming at all, I stayed there for 4 nights and the rooms were not cleaned once but the most terrible was the loud boomboomboom music until after midnight! So, if you want meet young people and make party with them it may be the ideal place to stay. If you want to chill and sleep without noise then look for something else.

Yes, it was loud at night with the dance hall next door, but all-in-all the room was clean, linens clean, air conditiong worked very well (This was a blessing after being out in the sun all day), and very close to multiple locations in the downtown area. Lastly, I was happy to see on busier nights they had security working the entrance checking people as they entered (Some people came to enjoy the dancing at the small club area)
Verified traveler (2/5): Pesimo hotel/hostal, sucio y ruidoso. - El hotel está en pesimo estado, los pasillos huelen muy mal a drenaje, se encuentra en general muy sucio y en mal estado los pasillos y areas comunes. Había cucarachas y suciedad en los cuartos, los baños comunes estaban muy sucios y se escucha todo lo que pasa desde las habtiaciones, además tienen una fiesta en la zona de alberca hasta las 3 am, la recepcionista nos dijo que era organizada por un externo al que le rentan el espacio. Ibamos por trabajo y no se podía dormir, de un lado fiesta y del otro karaoke, nos quedamos una noche menos de las que teniamos reservada, hubo poca respuesta de la administración fuera de decirnos que lo sentian. No recomiendo a nadie quedarse aquí. Las fotos de la propiedad son muy engañosas y el olor del hotel es muy desagradble.

Regina (4/5): - I rented a private king size bed room. My room was facing the street and a Restaurant below with loud music, staff were little to no help, seemed disorganized and clueless. While I was in my room some other person that for some reason had keys to my room just opened it out of the blue, definitely caught me by surprise. Also bear in mind that this hotel won’t allow you to drink in your room, so if you want to have a beer or a glass of wine in your Cancún hotel room that would be a no no at this hotel; you are allowed to buy drinks at their bar of course, sounds pretty convenient for them.

Lee (10/5): - I could not have been made to feel more welcomed at Selina Downtown, from the first day arriving until the day of departure the staff were always happy to help and offer suggestions on where to go if I needed to buy something or wanted to try a specific type of cuisine. The front desk and housekeeping staff genuinely do keep this place running like clockwork and they’re a credit to the company. I’ll definitely be back.

Matthew (6/5): Terrible private rooms. Hostel overpriced! - The private room was very small. It had an interior lobby window and it was very noisy. The bathrooms were crowded and busy, and didn’t even. Have a counter or vanity to put your personal bath items on. The water pressure was terrible and the water was like warm. It was the worst room in Cancun.
Jonathan (8/5): - Seline was a great hostel to stay at! We had a great room complete with a full kitchen and the staff were always SO helpful for us with information to help us get around on local transportation. Would definitely go back. The only downside was the smell in the bathroom, but I think that is just a result of an old sewer system in the building/city.
Anas (4/5): - Amazing location. Horrible music for 6 hours in a row. Room did not have functioning plumbing (no water) was fixed, whole place did not have water on my last day of stay. Pests and cockroaches found in room and luggage bags. Staff was prompt to address issues expect pests.

Laura (6/5): - The property was cute. However, I paid more for a bigger, nicer room with private bath, and the shower had no hot water or water pressure. They came to "fix" it, still no hot water and almost no pressure. I took only cold showers under a drip on my visit.
LaSaudra (10/5): Nice Place - Nice place for the price. It’s a hostile style hotel with the option of private rooms. I booked the King suite which has a lot of room space and nice comfy size bed. Only con I have is the bathroom space. Also would suggest that they add refrigerator and microwave to the King suite. The location is downtown Cancun so you have many restaurants and bars around but it’s a good distance from the hotel zone area. Depending on what your intentions are while visiting this is a great location. If you’re looking for a more tourist vacation I wouldn’t suggest this location but if you prefer a more authentic vacation it’s perfect. The staff is very friendly and helpful. There’s a bar with happy hour and ladies get to drink free 7-8 although now that I think about it the bartender charged me for my drinks. All in all good hotel. Moa (6/5): - We got a small room which in the pictures has a bathroom, however it only comes with shared bathroom. The lock on the door was half ripped from the door itself, didn't feel super secure. The worst part was the price here was more expensive than on site and when we pointed that out the receptionist just looked at us and said "well, it says your balance is ...". Wot not stay here again.
carlos (6/5): Robbed by receptionist 😀 - Location was perfect accross the street from airport bus ADO station , checkin easy enough room was hot large dorm no one turned on AC . Upon deciding to extend my stay took a small dorm , a few people who has no idea what shearing a room means i requested an even smaller dorm, was informed had to get managers permisson ask to pay 1000 peasos Cash thaugh nothing of it while rushing to change to the new room the receptionist came back to inform me i had to pay another 1600 peasos . I requested the 1000 peasos cash back to put the entire 2600 peasos on a credit card he refused to return it , with rushing to change room i paid 1600 peasos and finished moving however in the back of my mind something did not seems correct getting useto the exchang and all . next day he offered me a free welcome drink receipt ,still not accepting something was not right the next day i sak another receptionist on duty for the cost of my room to be informed it was 1600 peasos when i informed him what his coworker did immedeatly i was blamed for paying cash and not requesting a receipt at the same time told this pearson quit his job the day before 😏 was a very bad experence first if five years tow to three trips per year ! No refund No apologie was ask to write a report , felt the suitation was not handled seriousley gave it to karma to eaven the score 👍 due to the price and covid-19 i stayed two months sheltering two huricanes there a secure building clean and a uesable kitchen . Will never return

Helen (4/5): Left disappointed - I was so excited to stay here because of the great reviews, but unfortunately I was pretty disappointed. We had the studio room w/kitchen and terrace. I don't know if it's because maybe the room hasn't been serviced in a while because they weren't booking that room due to a leak that happened from the hurricane or what but there was mold on the kitchen table, the bedding smelled like mildew and the worst part was the bathroom's toilet. It smelled like it was the toilet water and it was pretty bad. It smelled just like the ADO bus's toilet. We didn't complain since we were just only staying for 1 night but if we were staying for more, I would of definitely asked to switch rooms. The only good thing about this place was that the overnight staff helped us get some rest at 4:30AM until the morning staff got there and was able to put us in our room. Customer service was great! Location is literally right across the street from the ADO Bus Terminal so that helped us a lot when we arrived in Cancun at 4:30AM.

Elise (8/5): Stayed there as it was close to the ado station - Stayed in the standard double room, what I like was it was literally across the road from ado, the room was clean, bed was comfy, aircon wasn't noisy. What I didn't like was the check in procedure, they took a picture of your passport, and gave you a fluro green wrist band to wear to get access to the place, there was no soap to wash your hands with and it was a bit noisy from the traffic. Overall I would stay again.

Check-in was easy and it’s great that they have their reception open 24/7; only thing I’d improve was that I’d booked. Michelle (8/5): Selina Cancun - I booked a suite at selina it was really nice besides the fact it had a small odor of the walls not sure if it was the cement or what, besides that the room was spacious with a balcony a sit area and the fan and a.c was good. Another thing is the hot water didn’t work that well at all, it was hot so I didn’t really mind. It was only until I checked int a deluxe room for my remaining 2 days in Cancun that I realized the water pressure was betterin the room that cost less as well as it having very hot water unlike the suite room. In general the staff was nice and the trip was pleasurable I would probably stay here again.
SUSAN (6/5): First trip to Cancun - The atmosphere at the hostel was not friendly, due to one of the clerks. Use of the lobby area for socialization was discouraged. The laundry of the sheets was closely monitored and guests were asked to pay for sheets. Not an easy place to meet others and socialize. The airport pick up was fantastic. Great hostel for a couple of nights.

Verified traveler (8/5): Good hostel in a convenient location - I stayed in a private room with a shared bathroom which was adequate for my needs. The hostel has everything you might need, including a lovely pool and it is situated right next to the ADO terminal (2 min walk) which is super convenient. The shared bathrooms could be a bit cleaner but that's usual for hostels! Many of the shower/toilet locks are also broken but other than that everything was just what I needed. Bar staff are super friendly, some receptionists not as much but nothing to complain about really. Would stay again. The wifi is really good.

patricia (10/5): Great New Hostel/Hotel - This is a nice new hostel that also has private rooms. Even as an OLDER person I felt comfortable staying in this new place. Beds are comfortable and in the dorms each bed has a reading light and a set of wall plugs to charge everything up. Will be using this place again.

Raymond (4/5): not really a hotel - Although advertised as a hotel, this was actually a hostel that had a few small (no room for even a chair) private rooms. Given the price of the room, you would expect much more. The air conditioner would have been a nice feature if it had actually worked. On return journey we stayed at hotel across the street (that we also booked on hotels.com). Half the price and twice the room.
Michael (10/5): Great experience and location for the price - Centrally located right next to the bus terminal!! Perfect to see Chichen Itza or Tulum. There is a bar in the hostel. Overall had a great stay and would stay here again.

philip (10/5): Great location, comfort, food, drink and bar staff - Stayed in very comfortable deluxe room, food at bar was excellent and fairly priced. Great bartenders and a good atmosphere. Music shuts down at 11PM so no problems there either. Tends to be a younger crowd. Excellent location on main route to Playa and Tulum and near route to Merida. Would definitely stay there again.
Angela (6/5): - This is a property which we believe is a wonderful idea and concept for younger travelers. They have a hostel type room and then a few private rooms, but the private rooms have not got WiFi. We were told it would be turned on in 2 hours from when we checked in, but this never happened despite our calls to the desk. And the calls to the desk were more than likely not heard/answered because the music from the bar (techno - the kind that sounds like a skipping old school record) was so loud that even in our room, we could not hear the phone calls nor could we even speak to each other. We chose this hotel because it was pet friendly, but our pet was totally freaked out because the music shook the room and he had never heard this particular type of scary techno booming before. What confused us about the place was that while we are married and in our 40’s, we do understand youth and fun, but really how does anyone hook up or talk to each other or even order a drink with the music so loud? I guess texting or sign language.... Otherwise the place itself has a great look and concept. The staff were super friendly. The vibe during the day was wonderful.
Manuel (8/5): Good Value - This is a really fun place to stay. It is true, as some of the other reviewers have noted, that it has a young vibe, and they do play music on the deck until 11 or so, but our rooms weren't facing the pool and if you don't go to bed early, it's not a problem. The pool and "playground" are great, the staff is very friendly and helpful, there's a "cinema" where you can watch movies with your Neflix account, and you can book a variety of tours on site. We got it because it is right next to the bus station which made it easy for us to go elsewhere in the Yucatan. It's nowhere near the actual beach, but there are a lot of food carts and restaurants nearby, making it a great place for a night or two. The food we had was OK, as were the drink, the morning coffee was better. Stayed there two times, and the second time we had a shower that didn't work, but the rooms were generally clean and comfortable.
Manuel (8/5): Fun Place to Stay - We really liked this place as a base to explore other parts of the Yucatan. It's not near a beach or anything touristy, but it's conveniently located near the bus station, and there are a lot of good, local food around. It has a great vibe, especially around the pool area, and they schedule lots of activities and excursions. It's funky and fun and we'd stay there again.

BARRIE (10/5): - I came to Mexico for some dental work and stayed at Selina. The staff are so amazing that I can’t even find the words to describe them. They even brought me ice for my swollen face! I love this hostel, and I can’t recommend it highly enough! Everything was above and beyond perfect!

Every single time I took a shower at night many men including staff would stand around as if they were holding a conversation, but they would watch us ladies shower. This should be corrected immediately!!! At least put a shade or curtain at the window

They also had many activities for us to enjoy on site (salsa lessons, games, etc.) Also, the receptionists were knowledgeable and helpful, when making decisions about tours, places to visit, etc. I recommend this place.
Kitty (10/5): very very good hostel - This hostel is over my expectation, the room and common bathroom are very clean, I notice the staff clean the bathroom very often! the AC and Fan work very well, the air is fresh in room. location is super !!! not noisy and very convenient to go every where. very easy to find restaurant and supermarket around.
