- Rachel (10/5): An amazing relaxing stay. With great coffee! - It was clean. Nice location & very friendly staff! One of the better hotels we have stayed at. The pool area was clean. Our room was very clean and our bathroom was as well. We had the king bedroom suit with the separate living room a kitchen area and even a balcony right off of the kitchen. The bathroom was huge and the shower was very nice. If traveling with kids I highly recommend the king bedroom suit! The breakfast was also great with great seating and provided high chairs for my little one. The area was very clean and even had a spot for eating out on the patio. We plan to return here when we travel to Fredericksburg again! Can’t say there was anything we didn’t like.

The facilities were clean, and the staff was very welcoming. Price was a little high, and there was no microwave in the room.

It’s rare to come across service that leaves such a lasting impression, and Zoe is a true asset to the team. Because of her and the overall quality of the hotel, I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to others.

- jrsamps (10/5): Quick stay in Fredricksburg - On our way back from Charleston, enroute to NJ we decided we needed a rest stop. I'm a big fan of Hyatt properties so we decided to check out Fredericksburg and checked into the Hyatt Place. We were late arrivals so we were glad that the hotel was only minutes from the Interstate. Check-in was a breeze and we found the room clean and comfortable. We left early the next morning and being a history buff, did a bit of exploring in town. We only had a couple of hours, so we just browsed a couple of antique shops and had a quick lunch before departing. It's an area that I would like to visit again for a couple of days. I do want to give a shout out to the Manager on Duty at the Hyatt, Connie. She was fantastic. She checked us in, thanked us for being Hyatt members. We did wander down to the bar for a night cap and had a fascinating conversation with her. She lives in the area and gave us quite a bit of insight to the area. It came in really handy the next day when we visited the downtown area. All in all, it was a very good experience. Thanks Connie.
- eb1099 (8/5): Nice location in Fredericksburg - Hyatt Place Mary Washington has a very good location for visiting the university or hospital, and was also close to downtown and the Fredericksburg battlefield. It is located off a busy highway which makes it easy to get around. The hotel common areas and my room were kept very clean. I wish they still gave you some moisturizer, and there was no maid service at all during my stay, which I guess is now standard across many hotels. The included breakfast was better than most, and featured scrambled eggs and sausage the days I was there. The location is right in a strip mall which included a grocery store. The area around the hotel is quite busy. I appreciate having an easy place to walk to get some groceries, toiletries, etc. Parking was free and plentiful. I was traveling alone and felt safe in the parking lot and around the hotel. I will stay at this hotel again for visiting family.

- Sightsee793833 (2/5): Disappointing bedding - Good location, nice atmosphere. Bed condition was not good. I came in late after traveling more than 24 hours internationally and was extremely tired so all I wanted was a clean room and bed. When I turned down the bedding, I found a small black item (insect, pilling?) in one bed and in the other, human hair. The bed sheets and pillows could have been checked to make sure they were clean. Bed sheets were rumpled and not smooth as they normally are at Hyatts. The refrigerator was not working. Housekeeping came in the morning and changed out the bedding and maintenance exchanged out the refrigerator. The night manager was nice (Tobayah) and apologized and offered to find me another room, even if just for the night but at that point, unpacking and packing again was just too much. One room he showed me as an alternative was a king but at that point I saw the bed sheet was also rumpled and declined. I ended up sleeping on the sofa. When housekeeping changed the sheets and pillow covering, I saw that one of the pillows had black marks and had them change it out. In the morning, the Asst. GM offered to exchange my room but I noticed that room had carpet frayed at the edges close to the door entrance, so I declined. The room condition was disappointing and certainly not something I am used to seeing at Hyatt hotels. I am hoping the bedding situation was a fluke.

- A4611LKianc (10/5): Excellent place while visiting Mary Washington Hospital (and University.) - Myself and some of my family stayed in this hotel recently while we had a relative in the ICU at Mary Washington Hospital next door. The desk person Zoe was amazing! She went above and beyond hosting and accommodating us in our time of crisis. Tabyah also was extremely kind and attentive during our stay. My only complaint would be that the bar ran out of vodka, which is something management should certainly address. What bar doesn’t have vodka?! I highly recommend this hotel if staying in Fredericksburg especially in proximity to the Hospital and University. Once again, thank you so much to Zoe and Tabyah, exemplary hospitality professionals!!

Received the worst follow up - We’ve stayed here before and had a decent experience, which is why we chose to return on our recent trip to Fredericksburg. This time, we booked the suite — the most expensive and presumably the nicest unit in the hotel — expecting a premium experience. Unfortunately, that’s not what we received. On the first night, the living room TV did not work. When I reported it to the front desk, I was told they were already aware of the issue. That information should have been disclosed at check-in. It wasn’t. I was also told it was a DirecTV issue and there was “nothing they could do about it.” On the second night, neither of the two TVs in the suite worked. We ended up falling asleep watching TV on a phone in what is supposed to be the hotel’s top-tier room. At checkout, I was told the Assistant General Manager would be reaching out to me. It has now been over 50 hours, and I have received no call. I have personally called the hotel twice seeking resolution, and there has still been no follow-through. Before posting this review, I decided to give the hotel one more opportunity to resolve this directly. When I called, I spoke with Dee — the same employee I tipped $20 for a single drink during my stay. I was told the reason no one had contacted me was because HR “wasn’t in yesterday.” That explanation has nothing to do with basic guest service follow-up. When I said as much, I was met with “wow” and then the call was disconnected. I immediately called back and was told it was an “accident.” At this point, the issue is no longer about the TVs. It’s about mismanagement, lack of communication, and zero ownership when problems arise. We paid for the best room in the hotel and received an experience that fell far short of basic expectations. Until management takes accountability, I cannot recommend staying here — and we will not be returning. You’ve earned this review.

This put her in a bad position as she directed my elderly father to that bathroom. It was a bathroom emergency. Your people need to communicate with each other.

Expectations were set high since its described as ‘deluxe’, but it was no better than what’s offered at nearly every hotel…cold, overdone powdered eggs, processed turkey sausage, etc. Mo waffles or pancakes was a disappointment and strange. Our room was nice, but the ceiling in the shower was awful, and the door to the room is too small, making it necessary to slam it when closing, causing a loud noise.

There are great restaurants nearby and it's near the intersections of I-95 and VA State Routes 3 and 17. This hotel is in a good location for visiting downtown Fredericksburg, central Virginia Civil War Battlefields, and Virginia wineries.
- Z4067JUalexisg (2/5): Never again - 1st room has hair (509) on the bed and dirt on the carpet, shabby furniture, scuffed walls- I requested another 'clean' room.. 2nd room (526) was also very shabby; hair in the shower, gross set in stains on the carpet, the sofa was even shabbier, the walls had scuffs on them. I was very disappointed but spent 12 hours in total and checked out at 6am. The 2 people at the front desk during check-in and check-out were very nice and respectful, which I appreciated. The lobby was nice so I was expecting the rooms to be the same. I had even requested a 'renovated' room during the reservation process, but I guess that didn't matter. The elevator was very creaky and bouncy and I did not like it. The mattress in 526 was soft and mushy. Very disappointed !

Fine; not a problem; only staying one night. Next morning I went out to breakfast event, left Do Not Disturb sign on door and my belongings in the room. Returned to find maintenance guy in my bathroom, toilet tank top on the vanity with my toiletries, standing on the bath mat. Said he knocked; said he was told to go in by GM. GM said he has "the right to send anyone anytime into any room even if DND on door." NO apology. This was not an urgent or emergent situation and I could have been in the shower or still in bed, and the repair could have waited an hour until checkout. So very inappropriate. I wasn't mad at the maintenance guy, but I was livid with the GM.

Breakfast was typical hotel breakfast - good. All in all a good stay. Evening clerk on Tuesday Oct 14 was very nice and very helpful. There was a hair in the shower that was not mine and the room temperature was hard to regulate.
