Guest Reviews

- Ilona (1/5): This hotel keeps a local bird captivated in a cage, just to show off! - Staff in the restaurant was nice and quick The hotel is in the middle of Guatemalas astonishing landscape, but keep a very precious bird of their region CAPTIVATED in a cage outside hotel. When I asked the staff, why this poor bird is being kept in the cage all by himself, they answered „because otherwise it would fly away“. This is a SHAME, keeping a bird in a cage that is suppose to live in this countryside, just to show off with it. I really hope that the hotel will set him free and understands that we are in 2026, a time where people of even the smallest villages in Guatemala understand that animals have to be treated well!

- Marina (2/5): Horrible stay. Fleas in our bed. - Had a good barbecue restaurant FLEA ALARM! Property and rooms are outdated. Breakfast included but very basic. We had fleas in our bed and both of us woke up under itchy flea bites. There were also traces of fleas on the mattress. We took pictures and called the receptionist, but no answer. We spoke with an employee that we saw in the corridor and showed him what we found on the bed and he said these were fluff from the blanket. They were clearly not. We went to the reception for check out and told her the story. The receptionist didn’t speak English so luckily I speak Spanish. That we tried to call and nobody answered was due to there were no working communication line between room and reception. She contacted the guy we spoke at the room and he told her the same thing about the fluff. I showed her the pictures and my flea bites all over. She said that they we should have reported this the night before! I told her we obviously didn’t inspect the bed before going to sleep as we were not expecting fleas, and only found out in the next morning. Then she said the fumigate the rooms frequently and never received a complaint before. And that the guy told her it was blanket fluff and the foto’s I showed her was our own dirt!!! Unbelievable. After calling someone (the manager we asked for never showed up) they offered us a meager 10% discount. Not even an apology. This hotel is totally not worth the 4 star rate they advertise. $100 for a room with FLEAS, horrible internet connection and not even a spare toilet role (the one we found in the bathroom was at its end) is outrageous. Please avoid this hotel.
- Bruno (4/5): Not as expected for the price you pay. Good facilities but just that! Not good value for money! - Staff not very helpful - food at dinner took 1:30h to arrive after order and came tepid. No funcional internet in the rooms, despite being sold with internet. When asked about it, staff was very unhelpful. Queues for breakfast were huge - buffet not being self service contributed to this. Noise from the road clearly heard in the rooms - no insonorization. Value for money - find another place!
- Marcos Julio (10/5): -
- LMichSwim (8/5): Privacy and lush environment for a quiet healthy stay - Breakfast had a pretty good variety and choice. Swimming pool was pleasant. Quiet for sleeping purposes. Having to walk so far to and from my room when it was dark.

- HIRES (10/5): Lovely Place - Our rooms were clean and neat. The bathroom was very clean.
The breakfast was delicious, as was all meals that we had at the Limoncello Restaurant on the grounds.
We loved being able to walk the beautifully kept grounds.
All the staff was very friendly and accommodating.
- Lisseth (7/5): -
- Ana Luisa (10/5): - El lugar lleno de vegetación
- Matthew (1/5): A.nice stay ruined by idiotic policies - I liked leaving It’s a little ghetto, after spending several hundred dollars, for them to make you wait to leave to inspect everything. Then say one towel is a little dirty. And that they need to charge 80 q to replace that cheap BS towel that isn’t even nice. Which they will not replace in any case because it’s easily washable. Then are just being ghetto and annoying.
- Sharlene (10/5): - Wonderful resort-like hotel with all the amenities on-site, you wont feel like you need to leave. Multiple restaurant options, beautiful pool. Felt very private and safe. Delicious food and helpful staff wherever you go.
- Lesly (10/5): -
- David (8/5): - One SMALL water is in room daily.
More water would be nice.
- Jorge (9/5): -
- Hugo (8/5): Very good -
- Monica (4/5): Habitacion ruidosa - Cama incomoda.
- Luis Carlos (6/5): - No air condition and is very warm at night
- Henrie (1/5): Work while no body is resting - It was clean and good room, also good food About 7:30 am there was a lot of noise because they were working on the front room, I wasn’t able to sleep well, even if I let the receptionist know about it, they were drilling extremely high
- Felician (8/5): Very good - Everything except what I didn't like. 1. Not even one glass in the room.
2.At this level of the accommodation i would expect a tea and coffer maker in the room.
3. No AC or a at least a fan in the room.
4. Cannot keep the windows open, loud noise from traffic on the main road.
- Larry (10/5): Enjoyed our stay - It was a beautiful hotel and restaurants. The breakfast was very good.lots of good, safe parking.
No one spoke English but we're patient with me using my phone translator.
- Clara (6/5): Pleasant - The hotel asked me to cancel my reservation when I arrived.
- Karin (10/5): - Por el desayuno jejejej
- Mary Ann (10/5): - We loved the staff, they were all amazing. The restaurants and food were all great. Walking the property to see the animals, flowers and landscaping was outstanding. Outside the property didn’t feel so safe.
- Hector Rene (10/5): - Exceso Hotel
Lo recomiendo mucho
- Marco (10/5): - Excelente servicio y muy limpio
- Diego andres (2/5): - App would not reserve 2 queen bed room for group larger than 2 people. There is plenty of space but they wanted to charge for “extra” people.
- Giuseppe (7/5): Good -
- Enrique (10/5): - Peaceful ,relaxing hotel ,missing only an massage accommodations.
- James (8/5): Very good -
- Jose (10/5): Exceptional - Very friendly staff and very nice place.
- Kyunghae (10/5): We stay at the hotel every year for our mission trip. the stay was very comfortable. - the hotel has very pretty landscaping and nice restaurant Front desk agents do not understand English at all and very difficult to communicate
- Luis (8/5): - Very nice hotel. The only thing we did not like was that the staff were cleaning rooms at 6am and making lots of noise.
- Carlos (10/5): Exceptional -
- Luis (8/5): - Excellent place
- Sara (7/5): Good -
- Kenneth (10/5): - A very nice hotel with great gardens and scenery. The restaurant is top notch
- edgar (10/5): - i like every thing
- Maynor (4/5): - Esperaba más del lugar por elnprecio
- Robert (8/5): Very good - There was no help in finding our individual room, which was difficult.
- Mary Ann (10/5): - Wry nice property with beautiful gardens!
- Luis (6/5): - Good position , but rooms has no air condition, and are too close to the main road and close to neighborhood that really is disturbing at night when you have to keep your windows open. Impossible to rest
- Christian (4/5): - No air-conditioning, very noisy, and no classes in the room.
- Elvia (8/5): Not comiing back to that hotel - Gardens, very nice staff Towels not good and bad after I paid all that money. They charge for a spot in one off the towels. They need to improve that’. Bad desert spoils,
- Prateek (10/5): Great for family - teenagers, parents and grandparents - Well kept property. Good parking, staff and nicely landscaped property.
- Yuri (7/5): Good - Perfect location, good quality of building. They have a tradition of switching off hot water every morning. No air conditioning, cold in the room. You can't take anything that you want for breakfast, the staff put into your plate. The coffee is usually cold. Anyway it's the best hotel in the area. Others are a total loss.
- Yuri (10/5): Exceptional -
- Qing (9/5): Superb -
- Laurem98 (8/5): Stopover between Semuc Champey and Guatemala City - The property is really nice, although they are located next to a big road they have a pretty big park where you can walk around and admire the plants or animals.
The room is pretty big and the bathroom as well. The interior of the room starts to be a bit outdated. The were no aeration in the bathroom or in the room and we could not open the windows so it became really jot and humid very quickly. We are not the only ones experiencing this as you could see mold on the ceiling.
- Enrique (8/5): Very good -
- Walter (9/5): Superb -
- Elisa (9/5): Superb -
- Elisa (10/5): Highly recommend! - The staff was friendly and helpful. . The staff were very professional and made changes to better accommodate our large group. They opened the dining room area to make us more comfortable when it was raining and chilly.
- Brian (10/5): - Staff are always very friendly and helpful
- Ernesto (7/5): Good - Breakfast is well managed and plentiful. Location of the hotel is on the main highway, so there is a lot of traffic noise if the room you are assigned faces the highway. The food served is very good. No pool facilities were available; that was not explained when we booked. Ice is charged, even a cup of hot water is charged. We can understand the hardships during the pandemic, but charging for hot cup of water is absurd.
- Walter (8/5): Very good - No complaints
- Timo (1/5): Scam - like an old hostel. This is not a hotel - Staff Old and worn out. Very expensive
- Valle (9/5): Superb -
- Roxana (8/5): - Buen servicio
- Moiwil (8/5): Very good -
- Yury (8/5): - No es pet friendly.
A pesar de tener las instalaciones perfectas!
Eso seria un éxito.
- Jeremy (10/5): Excellent - This hotel is great! One of the best I've stayed in. The staff is so friendly and nice. The rooms and grounds are clean and beautiful. I will stay here every time I'm in this area. Be sure to tour the coffee plantation that is owned by the hotel.
- Alejandro (6/5): - X
- Silvia (6/5): - All our Rooms smelled musty or moldy odor to them. Complained to staff who put in a humidifier but didn't help. Restaurant food was not good Better off eating outside of the hotel
- Willette (10/5): Excellent accommodations - Reception seemed confused about our reservation and asked for a picture of my reservation. But once I was checked in it was a lovely experience. The property is beautiful. The park is relaxing. The rom was clean. There are normally multiple dining options, but there were just two restaurants open. The one we ate at was excellent. The food was good and the staff was the best! Very attentive and accommodating. An excellent stay.
- Carol (6/5): Not good - This hotel was rated really high, but I did not found out why, even though the staff was friendly the facilities are not keep nice, it was kind of abandon, dirty
- SUSANA (8/5): Good resort - Very good location, clean amd staff friendly
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Lovely place with friendly staff. Excellent restaurants.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Beautiful grounds and the staff is very friendly. Room was clean and serviceable. Shower needed grouting, and pool needed cleaning, but overall we would stay again. This is Guatemala!!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The property itself is fairly nice. There are walking paths around the complex. There is an area with peacocks and a few cages with different birds in them. There is a pond along the walking path that was completely filled with algae. The staff was terrific. The room was ok. It was clean but smelled like mildew. I was glad I had a spray with me to help kill the odor. The food at Limoncello was very good and their buffet breakfast was great.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Park Hotel was a nice place to stay in Santa Cruz. It's a big place with some different options of restaurants to eat at.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The hotel and room was overall good and nice and surely we recommend it but when we tried to call frontdesk they never answered and also for room service we couldn't reach by phone neither.
- Marc (10/5): - The staff, especially at the restaurant, is exceptional. They are pleasant and so eager to please. We did lose the water to our room just when we needed to shower in the morning, but they moved very quickly to resolve the issue and we were only inconvenienced for fifteen minutes or so.
- Rodney (6/5): - Service needs a lot of improvement.
Somewhat disorganized.
Room had peeling paint and not all that clean in bathroom.
- Rachel (8/5): - This hotel was on a beautiful and expansive premises, with long pathways leading through the buildings and coffee plants growing among their landscaping.
The buildings located near the entrance include the restaurants, gym, main lobby, pool, and currently rented rooms. These buildings seem to be adequately maintained and some even seemed to be in renovation. The restaurants offered a good food selection and we greatly enjoyed the meals. The rooms were alright - not equal to U.S. accommodations but understandable for the location. The gym had a good amount of equipment and was regularly used. The pool wasn't being used while we were there, as it was still a little cold, but it seemed nice enough.
The buildings near the back of the resort had fallen into disrepair and thus, were out of commission. The "zoo" portion seemed useless, as the only animals we saw there were peacocks and other birds. Walking the pathway, the place almost seemed enchanted, with it's grand stature recognizably hiding just beneath the surface.
It seemed as though this place was incredibly prosperous at one point but went through a rough patch forcing it to downsize and they are now trying to bring the whole of it back to life.
Overall, we enjoyed our 2 night stay here.
