Guest Reviews
- Steven (8/5): Fine, but need to straighten up front car park - Spacious and clean , nice village location Poorly ran building site in front car park of hotel, adjacent to hotel not segregated off to separate pedestrians and cars, so in fact we were woken up for need to move our car to allow site access
Dust from the site had blown over the cars,
- Andrew (9/5): Super comfortable stay - great beer and great pub grub - Lovely rooms
Great showers
Good pub grub For a walker on the St Cuthberts Way the road up from Fenwick to Lowick is fast without a pavement - get a taxi!
- Lorraine (6/5): Average & underwhelming. - The accommodation was OK, nothing outstanding or special. The entrance to the main building was very untidy, with peeling paint work on the doors and walls. Not the best appearance.
The evening meal wasn't very good. 'Ding' meals which had been microwaved. My 'hand' battered fish was definitely a frozen option that you get from a pack in a supermarket, which I avoid at all costs, as its a cheaper tasteless meal. My husbands meal wasn't much better either. Its appearance was like a meals on wheels offering. Processed overpriced frozen food, which we don't like at all 👎
We decided not to eat there for our second evening. There are better places to obtain good food.
The breakfast was better. Although on the 2nd morning (which happened to be my birthday) we were given one slice of toast each! I had to request more, which took quite some time to arrive. We were told that there was a rush on toast!! I would suggest getting another toaster to avoid guests waiting...simple. I wanted my toast for the egg and salmon on toast, so the wait resulted in my eggs going cold. Not the Birthday breakfast I was hoping for.
The waitress on both mornings was attending to other tasks other than serving us. Her comment was ' I wiil have to do this before I forget ' whilst we were waiting to order our meal. She was setting different tables with cutlery etc, which was for the evening service. Totally unnecessary. She was pleasant enough, but didn't prioritise her service. We were the only people waiting to order, so she wasn't overwhelmed with guests.
- Julie (8/5): We only stayed one night but would stay again just for the breakfast. - The breakfast was excellent and was prepared by a very nice lady, there was everything you could want for a breakfast. Nothing
- Richard (10/5): Nice inn in a lovely area. - Very hearty breakfast, lovely staff. Located in a beautiful area.

- Gareth (10/5): Stayed for 1 night on way to Scotland. Could happily have stayed for longer - The double room was spacious with enough room for a sofa. The shower was powerful and hot.

- Craig (9/5): Comfy and quiet good freshly cooked breakfast - Clean spacious room. Good having own entrance rather than going through the bar. It was all good
- Christopher (9/5): -
- Peter (9/5): Would recommend staying here , great room , clean friendly staff , great breakfast . - Friendly staff .. great breakfast .. good size room
- Sharon (10/5): Brilliant. - The property was warm and welcoming, very clean and tidy. Friendly staff, great location, peaceful and great value for money. Will definitely be coming back. There was nothing I didn’t like.
- Garratt (9/5): Our stay was great.Would stay there again.Owners great staff great. Also the locals great. - Breakfast was great,Location was too. Only the shower to be abit more powerfull.
- Anne (8/5): - Friendly staff. Breakfast good. Room clean and well laid out Black mould on bath seal. Shower hot then cold - not able to use on 2nd day as no consistent temperature. Bed too soft but personal preference. Only one lamp so had to read with main light on in bed.
Floor of room above very creaky which meant a disturbed sleep
- Karen (8/5): Comfortable and friendly stay at The White Swan - Lovely room. Very warm, clean and comfortable. Modern & high quality furnishings. Comfy bed.
The staff were all friendly and helpful.
Great location in a pretty, historic village. Close to many tourist attractions such as castles and beaches.
Being able to dine on-site on an evening and enjoy drinks with locals in the bar afterwards was also an added bonus. Check in time was quite late in the afternoon (4.30). We had expected the bar to be open earlier so that we could wait somewhere until our room was ready. We had driven for 3 hours to get to the location & already tried to kill more time by visiting a tourist venue a few miles away.Ww were aware of the check in time prior to arrival but, when travelling such a distance, it is not always easy to estimate travel time. The small village is in a rural location so a visitor may be unaware of places to visit nearby to pass the time until check in.
- kathy (9/5): -

The rooms were really comfortable, both breakfast and dinner excellent.
Great value as well!
Parking right outside.
Both staff and locals were really friendly - you don't always get that in a small village location. Nothing!
It was a perfect place to stay.
- david (9/5): -
- Kyle (10/5): Great. Would stay again - Room was great. Breakfast was even better.
- Robert (7/5): - Friendliness, exceptionally clean, good food Room was cold due to radiators not working,
Had it been reported by previous guest I'm sure it would of been rectified as it was very professionally run and as we only stayed one night we reported the problem so the next guests will of been cozy I'm sure.there was an electric heater which helped

- Kevin (9/5): - I had a great stay at the White Swan. I didn't eat on the night ( I was very tired after hiking ) but had a lovely breakfast in the morning. The scrambled eggs were truly delicious. The room was comfortable, clean and lots of good and much needed extras. I slept well. Very well.
I would totally and highly recommend the White Swan. The village is lovely and the pub would definitely be a great base for exploring Northumberland. And everyone should. At least once. Everything was fine, and I had no complaints.
- Bryan (9/5): Great value local pub ideal for short stays. - Great value for money. After a long journey south it was great to sit in a busy local bar, enjoy a beer followed by an enjoyable meal.
I have stayed here before and the room, and facilities are great for an overnight stay. Love the breakfast here and we were set up for the long journey south. Nothing

- Belinda (8/5): Cute little pub stay with dogs welcome - Lovely little hotel for the night. We just stayed here as we were heading south from Scotland for the night. Really nice place, we were tired when we arrived, so the lady brought dinner up to our room. Bonus for us, the dog was welcome and breakfast was great. Nothing. This was a great little stay, great value too, better facitlites and price than the travelodge up in Berwick, which was our other option.
- Paul (10/5): Very enjoyable stay - Everything about the stay was great. Great value and lovely breakfast. Would highly recommend Nothing

- Gwendoline (8/5): We enjoyed our stay. - Friendly staff & comfortable accommodation. Lovely breakfast. Limited food menu.
- Carla (10/5): The location of the White swan inn was within a short distance of other destinations, which we loved - The staff were all so lovely, the rooms were a decent size especially when we had a medium sized crate for the pooches and we were still able to move around with ease. Nothing, we loved it all

- Christopher (10/5): - Very clean and fresh room, smelt lovely on arrival. Good space within the room, large comfortable bed. Bathroom was compact but all looked new and worked very well. Quiet surroundings, we slept very well.
Had a good meal at the bar downstairs, our dog was welcome. Breakfast was also very good quality, nice cooked options as well as continental.

- Anita (8/5): Excellent value for money, warm and welcoming environment and staff. - Staff were very friendly and welcoming and showed me to my room. Warm and welcoming dining room and bar. The food was freshly cooked and excellent quality (plenty). The room was very warm and the bed very comfortable. Large bathroom with plenty of hot water and clean towels. A bit noisy because of old creaky floorboards above but not really a big problem. It would have suited me much better if breakfast was served from 7.30 am as I had to leave at 8.15 am and breakfast started at 8.00 a.m. Again very friendly and helpful staff.
- Ann (10/5): Exceptional value for money. Comfortable stay in large room for 3 adults. - The breakfast was amazing. Cannot believe we could have yoghurt, cereals AND full breakfaat if we wanted. Pot of tea or coffee not just a cup, as well as orange or apple juice, or both. Well worth the price.
Food and drink in the restaurant was such good value too, as well as tasty. There wasn’t anything I didn’t like
- Stiles (10/5): Would definitely stay again - Breakfast was amazing room was very clean amazing value for money
