Guest Reviews
- Crissy (6/5): - .
- Charlie John (6/5): - Build too old
- rick (8/5): - The property was okay would have stay longer but no online reservations available
- gary (10/5): - Allson’s Inn was a great choice for me. The staff are very nice, friendly, helpful and efficient. The hotel is a budget hotel but met my needs adequately. I like the location. Walkable to Ayala Mall. Close to everything else. Lots of transportation options right out the door.
- Vinicius (2/5): - 1) Upon my checkin on the 18-6-24 the recieption told me elevator no working I ask them when can it be restore she reply she doesn't know how could this be I seen so many guest climbing staircase.
2) Room condition was bad poor maintainace to no maintainace extreme low water preasuslrr can"t even wash my face I move out on the second day.
Expedia should be aware of this property.
I check the review it was acception.
But actual condition will tell by itself.
Very regret to trust the review.
- William (4/5): - I enjoyed the view from the roof.
It's simply an old building that hasn't been maintained. When you step out of the hotel, the roads n surrounding structures are in complete disrepair.
- DENNIS (8/5): - A nice inexpensive olderproperty centrally located to Mango Square an Ayala Mall. You do have to pay extra to use the gym that Expedia i.plies is free. You also have to surrender your key to the front desk with each exit and than wait in an always bust line to retrieve your key upon return.
- Ramil (10/5): Perfect stay - I am very satisfied. I am looking forward to stay again at Allsons Inn in my next travel to Cebu.
- Angelo (2/5): Allisons Inn Should be Allisons Out! - Upon check-in, my family was asked for receipts and paperwork like they were trying to sneak into a low-budget hotel for free. Great Allisons’ Inn welcome.
But wait. There’s more.
I tried talking to both of the desk agents and they completely ignored me and refused to even acknowledge my questions. Maybe they are mutes.
Once in the room, there was only 1 bed. The listing stated 2 beds. The linen smelled and looked used and unchanged. This is a recurring trend at this hotel. Check the other reviews.
We were also told that pets would be charged 500p each when the listing says pets stay free.
Update #1: Moved to another room after complaining about the beds and linen.
Update #2: Still charging for pets. It’s called “bait and switch” and Allisons’ Inn has perfected the art.
Update #3: So Hotels.com called on our behalf and were also told 500p per pet, regardless of the listing.
I would rather sleep on a flattened cardboard box in front of 7-11 than either stay here or allow any family to stay here ever again.
Update #4: So upon checkout, the management wouldn’t even entertain the idea of a discounted pet fee. We asked for a split rate. Nope. No. Never.
My final assessment is to avoid this place. Its super cheap, but does that mean you have to put up with this? Does it mean “no customer service?” Does it mean you have to deal with poor “management?” For me, it’s clear the answer is a resounding NO, but you make your own decision.
- Ramil (10/5): Amazing place to stay - It was so good. We felt comfirtable. Accessible to transportation.
- Andrew (8/5): - Good for the money. Location is good too.
- james (4/5): - The one thing I really really needed was internet in the room. Everything else is gravy. Well there was none. NONE. After a cursory attempt by the staff to correct it we were told. "Sometimes it works, sometimes not. No one else is complaining." I missed several meetings and important e-mails. After 30 hrs. in a plane and airport, and 48 awake I didn't need this hassle.
- Jose Bernardo (4/5): poor customer service - I booked this hotel because it is just walking distance from our Cebu office and it advertised that it has a gym. It indeed has a decent gym, but apparently, hotel paying guests are not allowed to use it unless they pay for gym use. Which was not clearly stated on the booking websites. I'm actually ok to pay, but unfortunately, the way this message was relayed to me was very unprofessional. The front desk lady just blatantly told me I cannot use the gym. I was a bit surprised on how she informed me, considering that they are in the service industry
- Dean (10/5): - Very much impressed in the Philippines for the value of rooms at our under $20.. Hotel was nice, room was very good, location was decent.. Service was excellent
- Lance (4/5): Disgusting! - No changing of towels or sheets in three nights. Told policy is every other day but even then we had to request and track down maids. Huge cockroach in shower/bathroom. Very noisy. One roll of toilet paper for three people for three days.
- John (8/5): - they could stand to change the linens more often. I stayed 10 days and had to ask them to change the sheets.....never did get new towels.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Location is okay if you walk.
Don’t like the deposit they ask for, especially when the room wasn’t perfect when I came. I don’t want to be charged for something I didn’t do.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - More amenities like water fountain or microwave for guests
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Location close to hospital. Good secure parking with security guard.
- William (10/5): Will come back again - I stayed here four years ago and went back again for a total of seven days this time. The price can't be beat, and everything went well. I like the view from the sixth floor balcony, and the Allsons has a gym as well for only 120 pesos - two US dollars. The surrounding area is rather poor, but this hotel is within easy walking distance of two malls and other attractions.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Poor quality of service.cannot connect to wifi in the room..
- Verified traveler (8/5): Keep it up.. - Such a good place to stay and very affordable. I will be back soon.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good Value. - The front desk staff were friendly, pleasant, and efficient for check in and checkout. The room was spacious and had a good table. The air conditioning worked well. The shower had hot water, but the shower head just released a fine mist so the water pressure was very weak; not great for showering. There were no towels in the room when we arrived, but staff eventually brought them after calling the front desk. There were a good selection of tv channels on the cable tv. There's a Jollibee restaurant a few minutes walk from the hotel. Ayala center is a short ride away or you could walk there in around 25 minutes. All in all this hotel was comfortable and had good value for my money.
- Michael (10/5): - Great hotel and great staff very friendly and the food service was great too, overall a great stay and the hotel was very quiet.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - My third visit to this hotel. Conveniently situated and overall satisfactory for a budget traveller.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Rooms are OK for this grade of hotel though they are a bit old and weary. Security is very good, reception is good too, but the restaurant is not quite what one would expect. The food is good either there or in the room but seems to be operated solely by one individual on call who has to run around and often doesn''t answer the bell as quickly as one would like. The roof restaurant has a good view over the city and allows smoking, but may be closed for private events as we discovered one day.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nice hotel and staff always friendly only there for one night did not see anything to do.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Much as expected for this kind of room in this kind of hotel. The room was very spacious which could have accommodated more furniture but we had just two small hard chairs and a small wobbly table that wa too high to eat at comfortably. The wifi was good but didn't have any internet the night we were there. The room was clean, the bed comfortable, the aircon satisfactory and there was hot water at the shower. The reception took a while to find our reservation but the security was very efficient and helpful as we needed to leave our bags until the next booking. There is room service for a limited menu but ceases at 9pm at the time the restaurant closes.
- Raymond M (6/5): Don't expect much here - Front desk was rude and not helpful, I just want to tell you all the things you can do wrong so that you can get fined money. Room was basic, and bathroom had a mildewy smell
- Aly (8/5): You get what youve paid of - Everything was good. The only issue we had is the hot water in the shower is not working but they transfer me in another room.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Brothel type mattress coated in "plastic"
- poor choice (4/5): Poor choice - Poor choice
Bed is uncomfortable
Old place, old chairs, poor breakfast
- Victor (8/5): Best location for me, good transportation link. - Internet functions quite well now, and the food menu is still reasonable. Cell phone load can be purchased at the front desk, and the cable tv is more than adequate.
- Karen (8/5): - Nice place to stay. We stayed here for 4 days and 3 nights.
- Jinny (4/5): ok - Noisy not comforting
- Anonymous (6/5): Good location for barhopping - Located close to all the bars on "Mango" Avenue. Can walk to all of them very easily.
- stayinfit66 (4/5): Easy stay, no frills, great gym - If you have no expectations you will enjoy it here. The price was right for the accommodations. The front counter staff were friendly and the gym was great but there is an additional fee to use it.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Not welcomingp - Paid for delux room with view ,no view and not delux
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good hotel at the right price - Affordable. Wifi in ur room. Free breakfast. Not too far from mango square. Not bad at all for the price.
- Hugh (6/5): Cheap hotel in cebu - For the price it's a reasonable stay, bed is clean but with an old TV, some noise from the street but won't affect you at night.
- Daryl Mark (4/5): Good (if you dont have any choice) - (Strength): i compliment the kindness and sincerity of the hotel/inn staffs especially when they helped us with regards to our problem of booking: when we booked the wrong date, they made some adjustments. The staffs are very kind and hospitable. The complimentary breakfast is great and the food they served during the valentine's day special is worth the price (same as the romantic ambiance and the heart warming background music they played as we dine).
(Weakness): staffs are not aware about the rates and details regarding the hotel, wifi is very weak, the room is not as great as it is on pictures and its very small, the bed is not so comfortable and the airconditioner is not swinging as it is supposed to, the tiles of the bathroom and same as the toilet bowl have stains which are gross/disgusting. The guard sometimes sleeps while on duty.
- Verified traveler (4/5): overnight stay going to Bacolod - Stayed in night here on my Way to Bacolod , a simple hotel good value for your money. You get what you pay for basically Small clean functional rooms very good value for 3 people
- Manny (8/5): cheap hotel at a reasonable price - the room was ok but the bathroom has problems. no lock on the doorknob. the facilities could be better if improved.
- Simon (4/5): Central hotel - The hotel is a good transition point in cebu city if you're looking to get around easily by foot, as it's about twenty mins walk to the mall or the landmarks. The only issue is that there is literally nothing around so you have to go to town to get food.
The room itself is above basic, no safe but includes wifi, TV, double bed, and wardrobe and dresser. Shower is hot but weak, and the drain is close to the toilet so you end up getting the whole bathroom wet just to have a shower.
Staff are welcoming and friendly.
The breakfast you have to preorder the day before for 7am only. Seemed early to us and we appeared to be the only people staying in the whole hotel, despite its six floors.
Hard to judge though as we stayed on new years day so a lot of cebu city was closed for business.
- Verified traveler (4/5): the sink faucet's nightmare - The staff were great, very accommodating and courteous especially the security guards. If you're really on a tight budget, then this inn is an option. As with the others, the advertised room rate online is exclusive of tax, so it's smart to always have it in mind in your computation. The room was quite small (wasn't expecting a roomy one, but other hotels have better bargains at that price)...and the worst part: in our room, the sink faucet wasn't working...imagine how hard it is to brush your teeth on the bathroom floor.annoying..wasn't expecting too that there's contruction at the main lobby...now the question is, would I go back to Allson's? Nah, I better not prefer economy to comfort next time...
- Verified traveler (4/5): hotel currently being renovated...ants everywhere. - Overall, the hotel was disappointing...breakfast was furnished, but it arrived late and cold everyday....had to pay by the day to work out in the gym...the bed was very hard to sleep on...
- Christopher (10/5): Excellent choice. - Great value.
- Christopher (10/5): Great value hotel. - Very good place for everything.
- kent (8/5): Accessible and accommodating - Front desk and employees are very accommodating and helpful. Amenities are available and you wont need to go far to have them. Located near malls and accessible to other establishments.
- Verified traveler (10/5): awesome - everything is awesome except location
but theirs services can cover it
the well trained staffs
room clean up services perfect
- Kirk Patrick (8/5): Great stay - The hotel staff were friendly and accomodating. The place is accesible to different places in the city. It is safe and secure
