For hygiene reasons, it is forbidden to eat in the room. If guests are found to have eaten in the rooms they will be charged an extra EUR 150 per room.
Smoking is prohibited in the rooms and on the terrace. Smoking is permitted in the parking lot only. If guest do smoke in the room or on the terrace an extra fee will be charged of EUR 150.
Please note that check-in or check-out outside the regular hours is possible for at an additional fee of EUR 50. Check in after 19:30 is not possible

- Jason (10/5): Place to stay in Vleteren! - Every detail was taken care of. Sandy could not have been a better host. I requested a 3pm check in as wanted to visit a local brewery before 6pm closing, and she made a dinner reservation at the pub next door. Breakfast was also great. Coffee excellent, fresh omelette and orange juice.

Within walking distance to a lovely pub in Oost-Vleteren Loved that there were bath robes. That feels cozy and luxurious for a stay 😊 The owners were very friendly hosts. The breakfast was incredible!

The room was immaculately clean as was the gigantic bathroom. The owner, Sandy, made me and other guests most welcome and i'll definitely be staying here again next month.

I’d rather have had a shower and the toilet wasn’t separated from the rest of the en-suite room but there was a curtain for privacy. Lovely roses. All in all a great experience and many thanks to our lovely hostess who laid on a minibus to take our party to the wedding. If I was ever back in that part of Belgium then I’d choose this hotel. - Carolyn (10/5): A+ for this personal, charming hotel - This is an absolute gem of a place to stay! The owner is a wonderful, very hospitable woman who cares very much about making the hotel and your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. The parking is convenient and secure. The hotel is clean and comfortable, with a charming breakfast room, a library, and coffee/drinks available onsite (which is nice for relaxing if you don't have anything with you). She even will drop you off at a local restaurant and they'll bring you home, meaning that you can enjoy one of the outstanding Belgian beers (or two...) and not have to worry about driving! This location is fantastic too. As someone who's been to Belgium several times, driving is exceptionally easy and when located here, you're a short drive away from the Abbey of Sint-Sixtus (the infamous Westvleteren Trappist beer, and a whole host of other sites including WWI locations, cities like Brugge and Gent, and other great things. It was a nice change of pace to be in a slightly more rural location and not have to worry about driving in a city - but with the convenience of the cities nearby. The bed was super comfortable and there were thoughtful touches like the grooming kits, body/hair gel, water, little candies, a handy guide in the desk, extra blanket, and good outlet access throughout the space. I appreciated having a magnified makeup mirror too! My only regret is that I had a very short stay - can't wait to come back!

She sorted me out with superb friendly local a 10 minute walk away. Lifts were made available both ways if I wanted. Breakfast at the hotel is also fabulous. Thoroughly recommend!!

- Beverley (10/5): Clever use of resources to provide location - A bit hard to find as it is in the Belgian countryside and local roads are a bit vague. Once found I had a short wait as booking in is after 1700. All became clear when booked in. The place was secure, quiet and did what it did really well. Rooms were large and well thought out. They provide breakfast but dinner is elsewhere locally, you chose, they book and take you there and the location brings you back. Breakfast was good. Good enough to be looking for an excuse to go back when less hurried.

- Verified traveler (10/5): Quaint Belgium village hotel - Sandie has been absolutely wonderful! Every suggestion has been well thought out and been a wonderful experience. My husband and I came to town the week of Christmas for a visit to St. Sixtus for a chance at trying the Trappist beer. We were successful with the beer, but had no other plans while in the area. The hotel is updated, clean, quiet and cozy. Very relaxing. We have truly enjoyed the visit and would highly recommend this hotel!

- Doug (10/5): Fabulous countryside stay - Wonderful place, superb breakfast and the owners literally can't do enough. I marked 'comfort' down slightly as I didn't really like the iron bedstead, though the bed was really comfortable. Furthermore, I know that not all rooms are like this but mine didn't have a bathroom door and I'm never very happy with that. Superb country location and I really enjoyed the lovely garden and a wonderful Belgian beer (or two) using the 'honour bar' system.
- Claudia (10/5): Excellent, personal and close to "In de Vrede" - We had a wonderful, relaxing stay in this small hotel ran by the incredibly friendly and helpful owners, Sandie and Ivan. Warm welcome, very comfortable room with a personal touch. Delicious extra amenities like candy, biscuits and good tea/coffee. Breakfast was outstanding: homemade eggs (at the spot, fried or omelette style), fresh juice, bread, ham, cheese, yogurth, croissants... We got to borrow bikes and cycled to "In de Vrede" (the abbey café where you can taste the world-famous, Westvleteren). The ride was only 20 minutes away through charming countryside roads. We hope to come back one day!

Sandie gave us info on local bier fest and drove us there and arranged for taxi at end of evening. Another day drove us to brewery and arranged for dinner and for waiter to bring us home. It was great, no worries about driving. We originally only booked 2 nights, but added another night. Staying with Sandie was like visiting with family. I would recommend this hotel and would love to stay there again.

Breakfast was complete with eggs to order. Sandie helps with her complete knowledge of the Westvleteren Abbey brewery, four km away.

- Chris (10/5): Lovely hotel - We stayed for 1 night on our annual visit to the Menin gate ceremony in Ypres. No accommodation was available in Ypres, (10miles away) and we were glad it wasn't as everything was wonderful about the Het Heilig Genot, from Sandie personally greeting us on arrival, the lovely bedroom (we didn't like that there was no doorway to the bathroom, so no privacy and light polution at night) little touches like, bathrobes, complimentary bottles of water in the room fridge, complimentary cakes and sweets in the guests lounge, and the lovely breakfast. Sandie was a lovely lady and could not do enough for us. We are already planning another visit.
- Elaine (10/5): Excellent Hotel. - We arrived a day early after getting confused with our days and rang Sandie the Owner, she got in her car and drove straight over, giving us a warm welcome and managing to accommodate us. We were given a code to enter through a remote control gate into a very secure Private Car Park. The room she showed us to was beautifully decorated, spacious and everything was very clean and fresh. We were expecting a Continental Breakfast so had a nice surprise when we were given eggs and bacon. There was also the option of fresh fruit, yoghurts, cold meats, cheeses and fresh bread. Everything was very tasty.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Classy looking boutique style hotel in a very quiet village near Ypres. Lovely building and garden, secure parking. Large tastefully furnished room. However, the bathroom is in the bedroom with no dividing wall or screen which is a bit odd. If you're like me and think some things, like bathing and using the toilet, are private, then this will take some getting used to. I think a simple translucent screen that could be drawn across would be better. Also, the door to the room opened directly into the bathroom area so you had to walk through to get to the sitting area. If the floor was wet then you ended up treading water everywhere. Spent a large part of the day wiping the floor after a shower. Breakfast fairly standard continental fare with cold meat, cheese, yoghurt etc. though the host will cook some bacon and egg, either fried or as an omelette.

It was a lovely surprise at the end of our holiday and I wished we could have stayed more than 1 night. We were well looked after and there are so many beautiful little touches in the room and the hotel itself I couldn't name them all. You can tell this sweet little hotel is the pride and joy of its owners. I couldn't recommend it enough!
- jonsleeper@btopenworld.com (8/5): beautiful room, some drawbacks... would stay again - located out of town so you'll need a car. very clean hotel in a small village so not many facilities other than church and pub/chip shop. the rooms are amazing. large and extremely well kept - in fact totally postmodern. drawbacks? perhaps fair to say a slightly house-proud owner, which i suppose is why it's all so spotless and design-focussed. but do be warned that she can come across as a little brusque ... so if that upsets you stay away! early check out (10am - possibly another example of control freakery..?) and although it says can "we can be flexible on check out time" in the brochure this is NOT the case in real life. we were told, rather abruptly, to leave at 10am precisely and then charged 2.50 for what i thought was a free self service coffee because i made it after 10am. nevertheless, with all that said the rooms are beautifully appointed and the telly is BRILLIANT as it's a smart tv so you can youtube, etc. however one other thing to be warned about, don't expect a door on your ensuite toilet. it's actually IN SUITE not en suite (ha ha! good pun that!) so you'll be able to watch, and hear, and even smell your beloved taking a nice poo from your lovely comfortable bed. i rather enjoyed that, to be honest, but some will find it slightly weird. will deffo go back as it's basically very nice and great value so good for a stopover.
- Truyens Marc (10/5): Bijzonder goed onthaal en service - We werden super vriendelijk onthaald en tevens over alles geïnformeerd. Kamers waren ruim en zeer netjes. Meer dan voldoende badlinnen. Vele kleine zaken waren in de prijs inbegrepen zoals: water in de frigo op de kamer, koffie en thee in de lounge. Ontbijt met vers fruitsap, lekkere croissants, prima stokbrood, eitjes… Een echte aanrader.
- Alexandra (10/5): Possibly the best hotel I've ever stayed in. - Absolutely wonderful. Sandie (the owner) is incredibly friendly and helpful. Breakfast was lovely, room was beautiful, and the hotel building itself is charming - details are clearly important here. It's the sort of place other bed and breakfasts worldwide attempt to imitate. With the combination of the above and beyond service and the lovely hotel itself, this was the best hotel experience I've ever had, and I travel often for both work and pleasure.
- PompeyMel (10/5): A fantastic stay. - Stayed here two nights. The hotel was beautiful and extremely comfortable. The staff were very friendly and the breakfast was delicious. Overall I was very impressed with this hotel and would definitely go back.
- NL (10/5): What a wonderful surprise - The hotel is new and well equipped. Our room was amazing... bathtub and bed fit for a king (or queen), a sitting area and library. A coffee machine and access to an honesty bar and a breakfast that puts many 5* hotels to shame. We had a wonderful time!
- Chris (10/5): Very nice. - I can't fault anything. A wonderful personal service when I arrived and throughout the stay. The room was stunning with everything I want and more. Lovely feel with the contemporary modern design. Very comfortable. Really liked the nespresso machine in the lobby, much needed and appreciated. Breakfast was really nice, everything I wanted. Even the surrounding countryside was lovely. Will definitely book again.
