- GettingLostwithDogs (8/5): Great place and staff, guests are a toss up. - The location is fantastic! It's within walking distance to everything, so you really don't need to drive anywhere but to the battlefield itself, and that's even doable if you're up to a good trek. The house is beautiful and well kept, without all the modern distractions, which I REALLY appreciated! Quiet, peaceful, beautiful and comfy. Some of the other guests, particularly ghost hunters are rude. You can definitely tell the pros from the amateurs. Also, when you get your parking tag, park in YOUR designated spot! I'm disabled, and had space #1, but someone who had space #5 down the alley decided they liked my spot better, and when I got back that night, I had to park all the way down the alley and hobble all the way back. Thanks a lot.

Very few electric outlets worked especially the bathroom ones!and the lighting was very dim to try to read!Floors were VERY squeaky even for an old house!No TV anywhere.And the bats were scratching most of the night!

We met the manager, Lisa, over the phone only. She was rude and accusatory and unresponsive to messages and voicemails. Breakfast was okay but we were surprised by the white bread only!

I was unaware that Ms.Pierce wrote 3 books during the war. All bestsellers. I like the snacks down in the dining area, so you could make a toasted bagel w, jam/jelly, cr. ch. from side table & fridg. You could make a peanut butter & jelly sandwich on light wheat bread if you want. - all anytime.

- Robert (9/5): The room rate was great. - Breakfast was very good. While I don’t always eat the type of breakfast you provide, it was very satisfying to have such good food prepared. Also, the location was perfect. While I didn’t come to watch TV, there were times in the late evening and early morning that I wanted to catch up on news. On a couple of occasions I was able to get either CBS or NBC, but within a few minutes, it stopped working.

- Jasmine (9/5): Step back in time with a possible ghostly visit - Me and my boyfriend stayed here for New Year’s Eve. Very cute B&B. We didn’t attend breakfast because we slept in (8:30-9:30 is breakfast). As expected due to being an older home you can hear everything throughout the house. All rooms were filled the night we stayed. At night the road was quiet although it was a holiday. The room was clean, we stayed in the pink room. I didn’t know prior to booking that this place is haunted which I don’t mind. Around 0100 we both heard what we thought was female heavy breathing from the neighboring room (wink wink) but it may have been a ghost because all we heard was breathing. Staff was very nice. The house was incredibly cute and a step back in time. The head board hit the wall even with small movements in bed and it felt like the head of the bed was tilted downwards. Otherwise we both slept through the night.

- Catherine B (8/5): Great place to stay. - The Tillie Pierce House was a quaint location for our stay in Gettysburg, Pa. The house was very clean and well-decorated. Our room was cozy and clean. Breakfast was hot and delicious, and great way to start our day. The central location, which included parking, was advantageous for our 2 night stay. Not having staff on-site overnight can be an issue if you run low on basic commodities like toilet paper. No extras were provided in our room.

No TV….there was a tv, but when I called for them to help us get tv working, we were told that the tv in our room was not working and they couldn’t get anyone out to fix it until Monday. We stayed there on Saturday. No sheets were provided for pull out sofa…I had to call to get sheets and pillows. There wasn’t any staff available to speak with when we needed something. Had to call a phone number and wait for them to get back to us. Room was ‘okay’, but not very clean. And for $194.00, I do not think it was worth the money. Location was okay. Disappointed!

- Matthew (9/5): Very Pleasant Characterful stay - The location was very walkable, with free parking at the rear. Easy check in. The room was small but perfectly fine. The breakfast was better than we expected with some freshly cooked items and also snacks/ coffee available at all times. Regina cooked & served breakfast and she was a credit to the Inn. Quint old fashioned decor & furnishings are very pleasant Our bathroom in the Tillie Pierce Room needed opaque lower glass as it was very visible onto the street. The WiFi was patchy in the room. OK in common areas.

The location of the inn was fantastic, you could walk to huge variety of restaurant and cafes, and you are only a few minutes drive to the Gettysburg museum. The only problem we had was that the shower curtain wasn't long enough, so water was dispersed over the floor of the bathroom.

Place was super clean, quiet, and the hosts were very nice in the couple of times we had to ask them for things (purchased a doll and a bear from the lobby and had to ask for a broom because I accidentally knocked my glass Starbucks coffee off the table🫠). It’s a gorgeous stay and worth every penny. Will totally be back! Breakfast is kind of rsvp; totally get it from a financial aspect and respect it. Just kinda stunk because some of our adventures didn’t get done until really late (ghost hunting and went to DC) so I forgot to text or put our paper in the basket. I would wake up and smell the breakfast and curse my forgetful brain.

- Jason (5/5): Great location making it easy to explore town but not the most comfortable. - Loved the location. The history of the home. Love the authentic atmosphere it provides. The Salome room, where we stayed was extremely uncomfortable. The bed was tilted so much that I woke up with a headache and my husband was stuffy all morning. We slept with our heads at the fort of the bed the next night and it was more comfortable. They provided slips to reserve your breakfast for each morning we were there. Saturday breakfast was sausage, eggs, and French toast. It was like mom would make. Not five star but certainly filled our bellies. On Sunday, we woke up hungry and got ready for our breakfast. There was nothing. The kitchen door was locked, no staff was present, no note. Nothing. We wound up spending unplanned money on breakfast. Also, it was uncomfortably warm at night. No windows open in our room which would have been all we needed. But there was no one to adjust the thermostat which we suspected was not anywhere we would be able to get to.

- Russell (10/5): The Tillie Pierce House Inn is a 100% must stay. At least 3 nights to have a good experience. - They were located right there on the Main Street downtown in the most perfect location. The parking was so easy and off the Main Street which was amazing since we had a rental. The staff was very nice and texted me the morning off arrival to inform me when our room would be ready. She gave us clear perfect instructions and we had no issues one bit. The breakfast was AMAZING. We smelled it as soon as we woke up. I will definitely be coming back and will have friends or family with us next time. We highly recommend. Honestly the only negitive thing that happened on our trip was (1- the rental car we arrived in had issues so we spent our anniversary driving an hour away to the closest airport. And 2- having to leave that beautiful home and amazing historic town.

We enjoyed our stay very much There was not an AC control in our room and it was very cold. Had to open a window to help control the coolness. - Joseph (6/5): - Breakfast was difficult to nail down. Online stated 9-11 and it was 8:30-930 at the house. Parking passes were not handed out to several guests. That was frustrating. The house itself is clean and a beautiful representation of the houses of the era. Its history from the battle of Gettysburg is immense and deep. The bed was comfortable but the pillows were a bit stiff for my liking. And the pillow fee is mind boggling. I would sincerely think about removing that cost from the billing. I don’t think people are wanting to take your pillows, or at least the pillows I was using. Staffing becomes an issue during the day as well. Sometimes there’s no one available to help if a problem were to arise. I feel that should be remediated. The toilets take some getting used to flushing, but they do flush. Just be prepared. Overall I did enjoy the feeling and dynamic of the houses and guests. I would consider staying here again.

A younger person would have no problem though. Also, would have been nice if there was someone to showcase the Tillie Pierce story and possibly have a tour of the house itself.

Much to our dismay we walked into our room and it was very warm. We saw that the rooms could'nt be controlled individually and were so hot all night and could barely sleep. Bed was very comfy but because of the temperature, it didnt matter. Also, the house is not staffed so noone to help if there is a non emergency issue. Breakfast smelled great the next morning, but we were excited to get back to our air conditioned home. We will go back to the Farnsworth House again next time.

- Nicole (8/5): It was conveniently located - It was very convenient. Scarla did not make us feel welcomed. Did not show us to our room. Gave us keys to the wrong room. Make it seem like it was an inconvenience to ask for an extra towel. Said she would call us when our room was ready and never did. When she did finally call it was after 4:30 and check in was at 3:00. She was more worried about the doors being locked and us filling out the survey paper. She had no hospitality at all. The staff that was there in the morning to cook breakfast was super amazing. We greatly appreciated them. We are looking forward to going back but not wanting to deal with Scarla.

- Renee (9/5): Excellent location, staff and breakfast in a warm and inviting Inn. - Excellent location to both ends of town. Parked the car and walked to all of the local bars, restaurants and sights. Only needed the car for the Battlefield. Morning breakfast was freshly cooked and delicious! Loved the property!
