- 00784 (10/5): CHILLED !!! - This is my personal review of the hotel and its features. First and foremost , my first trip to Jamaica 🇯🇲 Arrived mid afternoon and despite TUI advertising 90min transfer it was 3hrs.Traffic , people getting dropped off at hotels etc etc. On arrival we were checked in and all very smooth. Taken to our Adult only section of the hotel. There are 2 of these Blocks 1 &2 and Blocks 8 & 9. Swim up room, with a pool bar at the end. Room was large , great rainfall shower and very comfortable beds.Fridge stocked daily and cleaned daily. Nice big TV with lots of channels. Films galore. Some people reading this may think " why do you need a TV, your on holiday" Well , some days we had rain and had to go back to the room. Fortunately we had a great room and it came with an area outside which we could sit , whilst undercover. Shielded from the rain. Beach is literally on your doorstep so that is perfect , it's a lovely beach , sea is warm and not very deep. 50 meters and you are still at waist level. They " brush & rake" it every morning, so it's very tidy and full of sun beds. However it's not a sun bed war situation but if you want a prime spec then I'm afraid you will need to be up early. Saying that there are lots of pools and staff are more than happy to move the vacant beds onto the beach for you. The beach is a full days entertainment, lots of the locals singing , wandering up and down. But they are NOT allowed to approach you!! They have a boundary line and they stick to it. They are all very friendly and love a chat. Of course they offer you " cannabis" after all you're in Jamaica . As I wrote this it's 8:50am and someone is already on it. Doesn't bother me it's just what I expected. The food is excellent. I was impressed the most with the Italian , waiter service great staff and very very nice food. But , if you want to eat there be sure to get there before 7 , or you could be waiting a good 90mins for a table. You may think 7 is early but oddly enough I didn't get past 9:30pm everyday.. so relaxing is this place that I found I was exhausted and slept for Britain! Go to the bar at block 8-9 The bar lady , Camille makes a "purple rain" cocktail .. loved it. Tipping , not compulsory but we tipped our favourite members of staff , who went that little bit further. We took Jamaican dollars.. but should have taken US dollars. They take both but I would recommend US ! We went to Rick's Cafe .. please do here. You can book and pay for a taxi at reception for going and then getting picked up. You give them a pick up time.its charged per person NOT per taxi. $20 per head ( return ). The hotel is not massive !! It's on 3 floors and has ,I think 276 rooms. Unlike the ones you see on the route to the hotel , that are massive! Literally like tower blocks. Not my thing , I would not fault this hotel and recommend it , and if you are going soon or looking to book , please don't worry this is a good choice. No mosquito bites !!! Which I was elated about. The onsite shop is expensive. If you are on the beach , face the sea turn left walk 200 yards and you will find cheaper.

The room was subpar, it felt outdated n wasn’t as clean as id hope. The property could use some TLC too. The service was not as i expected, it felt like half the time the workers didn't want to be at work and it was being taken out on the guests. The food was a solid 6/10. This is my second time at the property, my first time was amazing but i dont think i’d go back. Keep it in mind that this is a family resorts, so little kids are all over. The hotel was pretty quiet though and peaceful.

We had a couple of rooms which were both fab. Fridge was always filled daily with beer and soda. The beach is not deep but it is lovely and perfect for walking and taking in the beautiful views. There is everything you need in this resort, if you want to keep busy and make the most of it. Water sports, catamaran, pimp pong and volleyball on the beach, a good gym, and daily roster of activities. Entertainment at night was good, my favorites were Michael Jackson (don't miss it) and the silent disco with dueling DJs (for all ages) Lots going on for you to take part in. The staff are kind and always ready to help. The management was also kind and helpful. I was not expecting much because of the bad reviews, but we loved the place and so did all the people we met. The spa is lovely if you get a chance to go ,it is well worth it. Walk the lovely 7 mile beach, which is technically only 4 miles. Beautiful sunsets on the beach. Sunrise over the tropical hills can be seen from the 3rd floor if you walk to the end. Ricks Cafe: A group of us took a luxury taxi from the reception which was 20 USD per person. The driver waited for us for 1.5 hours and then took us back. (This was the only trip we did) Think about tipping staff on the resort in USD. A little for everyone will be helpful to them. There are 3 stingrays and a manta ray if you walk up towards the right side, when facing the water. You can see them from the shore or snorkel with them. Have a great time. Try everything. Wish I was back there...
- kempcircusmom (10/5): Great time! - I always read reviews carefully before booking hotels so my expectations are realistic... And I appreciated a few details posted by a visitor last month, so I'll confirm what she taught us about Azul Beach Resort. The main factor is that Azul is a beautiful resort in a fantastic location in Negril. The beach is calm and warm...just steps from hotel rooms. All the staff was excellent during every encounter- kind, polite, friendly, & helpful. There may have been 1 or 2 times a server was quiet/aloof but never rude. Tipping 1-2 dollars per service was very common here but servers were thankful and didn't automatically expect it. The rooms were quite comfortable and any signs of being outdated were minimal. The beds were great and the whole resort was very clean at all times. The shower was spacious but water pressure and temp would fluctuate from warmish to hot to cold and would turn to a literal trickle for 5 seconds before returning to normal. This occured all week, no matter the time of day...weird but tolerable. There is definite truth to the lack of towels! If you leave dirty towels for housekeeping they are not replaced. We used the same soggy hand towel as a bath mat all week. Very few hooks/bars for drying towels...bring your own clothesline to hang wet stuff up. The tropical setting made everything take a long time to dry completely. You have to get up before 8:00am to get pool/beach towels... They do not get refilled for the rest of the day unless a lifeguard or beach attendant pities you...or you gave them a good tip the day before. Bringing your own beach towels & floats is your best bet. If you want a cabana/bed or even chairs, you have to save them before 7:00 a.m. Other guests do respect towels and belongings laid on them but we saw lifeguards move things if chairs were unclaimed by 10:00ish... The pools were nice and well maintained but we couldn't resist the ocean so we didn't swim there. The food was nothing special. There was plenty to eat but the buffets were boring... Breakfast was the same basics everyday (eggs, fruit, cereals, breads, bacon, sausage) which was fine. The lunch/dinner usually had a theme (like Mexican) but lots looked overcooked and fresh fruit or veggie options were limited. The 3 restaurants were Caribbean, Asian, and Italian where you could pick from about 10 entrees. We found this food to be better quality but you did have to be prepared to wait for a table...they didn't take reservations ahead. The coffee bar was great and bars always had good service. Overall, we had a great time... but we also got a good rate with an Expedia Black Friday deal. I would have been annoyed if I had paid 5 star prices for this 3-4 star resort. As long as you know what your getting, I would totally recommend this resort for a relaxing Jamaica vacation! 👍

- Jaxxholt (6/5): Excellent location. Mixed review. - We stayed in Building 1. On the first night, the shower flooded into the room and out of the door into the walkway! A member of staff knocked on and asked us if we were aware? Erm of course, I’m swimming in it here! I was devastated as I’d unpacked whilst my partner had first shower! So we went for dinner (me feeling very grubby) and in the meantime the flood was mopped up and the shower drain sorted out! Phew! Overall, the room was adequate, clean (I didn’t investigate the mattress) and we had enough towels. There was some dodgy painting in the bathroom and the toiletries provided were a bit naff. But who uses them anyway? 🤣 The food in the restaurants was changeable …the buffet felt like it was mikes away…it’s at the totally opposite end of the complex…but the other restaurants are more central. The Palms is ok for breakfast, the Italian and the Ackee restaurants are quite poor. The Italian is nothing like the tastes you’re familiar with. The Palms in the evening has limited choices and us t open every evening. My main concerns were: - the decking boards. There are lots of holes in them, I did put my foot through one of them! There was a maintenance team on site, so I guess they are working on this. - the lack of sun beds and umbrellas. I’m not the type to get up at sunrise to reserve a sunbed, but at this resort there was no option as there are not enough. Also beach towels are limited in supply. (They don’t operate a system with a card or anything) I eventually realised that the lifeguards were reserving the beach cabanas for guests. For a small fee. Pay them decent wage so they don’t resort to these tactics! The entertainment isn’t all that good. Dancers every other night who work really hard but the area they have to perform in isn’t ideal. Having said all this, the beach is glorious, clean and the sea is shallow to get into. I liked the key ribbon that you wear as you never misplace your room key. All the staff we encountered were polite and well presented. You have to remember that Stiorm Melissa was only 6 months before, and that the damage to the boards and lack of sun beds can perhaps all be attributed to that. You can see the remnants of buildings and work happening in your journey to and from the airport. So all these things I’ve mentioned may be overcome in the coming season. I hope so as the location is excellent.

Food very very limited, we struggled for 2 weeks - the food is very overcooked, dry with no flavour. The claim of all these restaurants is pure fabrication, they do have the restaurants but are not open and the ones that were open where pretty poor “airplane food is very similar” We had the Italian 4 times and had a different experience 4 times, 4 poor experiences on 4 different levels, so when I see reviews from people saying the foods amazing, you have no taste buds at all. 3 nights I had just sweetcorn and coleslaw, sadly they ran out of that for a few days. The claim of 5 stars, no way a limp 3 at best! It’s sad really as the place and location has big potential, it just needs people who can cook, management who listen and maybe a maintenance team would be an idea. The staff are nice and helpful and will help with anything, shame the management don’t follow that example! Certainly not value for money or would I recommend. In truth I would probably think about booking elsewhere simply based on the food sadly..

My room was nice 81008 and house keeper clean very well and she was very friendly .The lady bar tender at bar for building 8 was friendly .Tashene my concierge was amazing and friendly .I met 2 other ladies that work there that was very friendly also Resort need a mayor maintenance repairs Boards are week threw out the resort kind of scary especially being it’s dark at night It’s not enough lighting at night around the resort Entertainment was amazing But it’s not enough activity to do its boring . And the food omg It’s not enough options I can say I enjoyed 1 good night of the food and that’s when they feed us on patio deck . Not enough of the culture of Jamaica is there
- chyechka (8/5): A diamond in the rough, but we still loved it! - This was a long awaited trip for 2 families with teens. I read every single review, inside and out before our arrival, to be prepared as to what we would find and experience. Here is my breakdown. It will likely be a long review :) ROOMS: Decent. Some signs of wear. Stained couch, chipped furniture, poor paint jobs. Good amount of space, large balcony with a lounger and bistro set and a rack to dry wet bathing suits, which was handy. Iron and ironing board as well as hairdryer coffee and tea. fridge was restocked daily with soft drinks, beer and water, particularly if I left a tip for the gentleman who restocks. When it rained, bathroom had a leak in the ceiling that I had to soak up with one of two towels, which I learned was a mistake because it wasn’t replaced, nor was the leak addressed. Walls are paper thin, toilets flush like a Boeing taking off, and doors are loud when they close. I could hear my neighbour snoring and pretty sure they could hear my husband snoring, too. Made for lousy sleep a few nights. My biggest issue was lack of bathroom towels. For a period of three days, my husband and I had to share one towel. if I managed to find the housekeeper in the hallway, she was lovely but had no towels. This is not a housekeeping issue, this is a management issue. Caution, if you leave them on the floor, dirty, they will take them away, but not replace them. For one full week, we never saw a face cloth bath mat or hand towel. And yes, I left a tip every day. To me this is unacceptable for this level of property and a very easy fix. Housekeeping did a good job keeping the room tidy. there is also not one single hook in the bathroom to hang a wet towel when you’re done showering. I found that very bizarre. Shower was hot, but water pressure fluctuated. I had a premium ocean view room, yes, view of the ocean, but kind of a side view. The downside of all the rooms having an ocean view is that you also have a very direct view into your neighbour’s rooms across from you. Good reminder to avoid walking around in your room in the buff 😉 FOOD & DRINK: I was so worried about the food! So many people complain about it! It was actually delicious. Not a massive buffet, but everything hot, flavourful and very sufficient variety. Jerk chicken on the beach awesome. Coffee at the west end grill or coffee bar in the morning, piping hot and among the best I’ve had. Mimosa bar a nice touch in the morning. Italian à la carte was terrible. Food was so subpar. Sauce tasted like it was straight out of a jar, calamari was like rubber, pasta so overcooked, it was falling apart. Asian quite good, but small portions. Drinks were rather mediocre. Artificial tasting mixes. No fresh fruit for good blended drinks, but I hear Melissa did a number on crops :( some issues with running out of things. One night at the lobby bar, we had to drink wine out of beer glasses. No prosecco at breakfast 2 mornings. Again, a management issue. Overall, I think the resort did a great job with food. SERVICE: Staff overall is amazing. Very motivated by tips, but that’s standard at many all-inclusives I’ve been to. Everyone you encounter says hi, and they try their best to help you, when needed. Front desk at check in was super helpful, sorting out an issue with Air Canada vacations and our room. I find the whole “time share sales pitch” incredibly annoying, but I was very firm in saying absolutely not and they left me alone, and stopped trying to offer the “free gift”. Beach waitress was fantastic, but we took very good care of her, not sure service was the same for guests who didn’t tip well. Staff is friendly and engaged, for the most part. BEACH & POOLS: Ahhhh, the beach. Calm, crystal clear water, no sargassum. Shallow. I didn’t pay attention more closely to the map of seven mile, it looks like this is part of the bigger seven mile strip, so I thought we could easily walk to the strip with all of the smaller hotels, margaritaville etc, but it’s far and not entirely accessible by walking along the beach. But the beach is gorgeous. Beach chairs and those great pods are hard to Come by. I went down before the sun rose every morning to get my spot and stayed allllll day, it was so beautiful. Pods and chairs are pretty much booked up before 7 am, which is unfortunate if you like to sleep in. Some of the lounge chairs are in bad shape, and need replacing. Need more umbrellas on the beach. Again, towels are an issue. Hardly ever any available. When they are, guests swarm the towel hut and they’re gone in two seconds. Some of the towels are also in abysmal condition. Big holes, frayed edges. Also a management issue. I read the towels were an issue and brought my own. Noticed that many other guests did the same. Shouldn’t happen at a 4.5 ⭐️ resort. Vendors are constant. All day long, peddling every type of drug, handmade crafts, excursions, but we found if you were friendly, said hi, exchanged a few pleasantries and a firm no thank you, they moved on. I found a couple of the men to say very inappropriate things to the beautiful teenaged girl that was part of our group, despite a very stark age difference. I wouldn’t let young women walk along the beach alone here. Pools seem nice. Never dipped a toe. There’s quite a few of them. Decking around the pool and around the general resort a total disaster. Cracked, mismatched boards, holes, uneven spots. A hazard, quite frankly. They had a foam party one day which kids loved. The beach is the highlight of the resort. ENTERTAINMENT/AMENITIES: Entertainment was hit and miss. Michael Jackson show was amazing. Dancers were great. So was moulin rouge and the bob marley tribute. Karaoke sucked. As did the game show night and silent headphone party 👎It seemed like these nights were cop-outs and meant that the guests were actually the entertainers. MC had a good sense of humour. A couple nights there was a live band that played the sleepiest elevator music, like 1980’s soft pop covers. It felt like they were trying to clear out the room. Why not a SOCA band or reggae? Why am I listening to Whitney Houston hits in Jamaica? Just a personal opinion, but I heard other guests echoing that. Full activities during the day, always something going on, but this was definitely an older crowd, even during March break, so it felt like there was not heavy participation. They need a pool table or two for an extra rainy day/teen thing to do. Resort felt pretty sleepy at night, lobby bar closed at 10 pm, I believe, so everything quieted down after that, unless you were interested in going up to disco. Overall, always something to keep you busy, even though it errs on the quiet side, compared to some other resorts. While we left here feeling like we had a great time, there is certainly room for improvement. Maintenance appears to be an issue, in some areas, but not all. Sometimes it felt like a bit of a “pig in lipstick” situation. We paid roughly 2500/pp/week, which felt like a great deal. If we paid much more, I would have felt that it was poor value. They need to either modify their star rating (I would say it’s a 4, certainly not a 5 by any stretch of the imagination) or seriously up their game. The beach is exceptional, people are warm, food is great. We came home with fond memories, sun-kissed faces and a few extra pounds, along with the definite feeling that part of our hearts are in Jamaica and mi soon come💛🖤💚🇯🇲

We expected the same quality and service. We were truly disappointed. It is more like a 3 star Resort. The only good thing about this Resort was the beach, food and drinks. Some of the staff were friendly but some were miserable. This Resort needs a major update. Lots of tripping hazards on the boardwalks. Upon arrival to this Resort, the lobby was not impressive. It is so old and tired looking as well as the furniture. The rooms are outdated and could use an update. Shame on Sell Off Vacations for their false advertisement of this Resort. It is not an adults only 5 star Resort. It was not worth the money we overpaid for this dump. Wished we would have went back to Sunset at the Palms. Trust me, we travel 3 times a year and this was the worse Resort we've been to. Do yourself, stay away from this Resort.

While the property showed visible signs of strain, likely connected to Jamaica’s post-hurricane recovery, and had some areas needing attention, including a rain-related leak in our room and limited food and liquor options, there was still charm in the experience. The beachfront was beautiful, and the staff who brought warmth and care truly made the stay worthwhile. Rush made our beach experience top notch. He was attentive, knowledgeable, and had a natural way of making guests feel seen, heard, and at ease. That level of care stood out, especially compared to a front desk experience that felt cold and impersonal. At dinner, Amelia was wonderful, and the woman at the egg station each morning deserves special recognition for her warmth, patience, and care. Cheryl at the spa was also exceptional — her work felt healing, and I was grateful to see her two days in a row. The bakery near the entrance became another favorite, especially for the patties and coconut macaroons. Special thanks to Jason, Deva Kay, and especially Sade, whose patience and kindness made me feel truly special. The staff are what made this trip memorable.

While the beach was beautiful, we found the swimming area quite shallow and suggest extending the swim borders further out for a better experience. We also encountered several issues during our stay: - Beach Seating: It was very difficult to secure beach chairs. By 6:45 AM, most were already taken, and it appeared that some guests were paying lifeguards to reserve them. - Check-in Process: After arriving at 4:00 PM following a long flight, our rooms were still not ready. We had to wait an additional hour, which was disappointing given the late hour. - Service: While the staff at the Mahogany buffet were excellent, the service throughout the rest of the hotel was lacking. We would have appreciated more professionalism and a more welcoming attitude from the general staff. - Amenities: There was a consistent shortage of towels both in our rooms and at the beach. We hope you find this feedback constructive as you look to improve the guest experience.

Disappointing Stay – Not a 5-Star Resort Our stay at Azul Beach Resort Negril was extremely disappointing and far from the luxury experience advertised. We arranged a private transfer from Sangster International Airport to avoid the bus crowds and arrive relaxed, but check-in was a disaster. Even after the official check-in time, our rooms weren’t ready. When one room was finally released, we rushed in after traveling all morning only to find no toiletries at all — including an empty soap box. We couldn’t even wash our hands. The pattern continued all week. Every day something was missing from the room — towels, toiletries, etc. Beach towels were often gone after noon, and the bars regularly ran out of drink ingredients. The “Ocean View” upgrade is very misleading. The rooms are outdated and look nothing like what is shown online, and you have to lean out over the balcony just to catch a small glimpse of the ocean. To make matters worse, the room walls are paper thin — you can hear everything, and I mean everything. The shower water temperature is completely unreliable, going from normal to very hot to freezing cold within seconds. On our last night before departing, we walked over to the main Buffet Lounge only to find it closed — apparently they shut it on Tuesdays and Fridays. The hotel was at full capacity, and only the smaller buffet was open. Service there was chaotic: the waitress forgot our drink order, my girlfriend’s wine was accidentally diluted with water and never replaced, there were no dish plates so we had to eat on dessert plates, and staff shortages behind the counters caused long delays and lineups. The only highlight is Negril’s beautiful ocean, which truly is stunning. Unfortunately, this resort simply does not deliver the five-star experience it advertises, and we would not return.

Food was excellent , people are awesome. Could be difficult to get a cabana. Make sure you are up early to get one. Views of water from balcony. Balcony is large and rooms are too. Rooms were clean daily, towels were changed if you requested (leave on floor) We were travelling with a friend that was having a Birthday and they leave a desert and compliment rum bottle as a gift. Entertainment staff were around the family section. Shows in the evening were either put on my the Entertainment team or by a dance company that did several shows during the week. Drinks were strong at times. I will say the one swim up Bar would run out of Vodka sometimes however there was a large menu option to consider an alternative. If you have booked a premium ocean view suite then buildings 8 & 9 are wonderful! Loved this property and will be returning!

Our room had a beautiful ocean view from the balcony and we loved to rest out there on the lounger pod. Whether you love the local flavors or are looking for something a bit more common like cheeseburgers, pizza and pasta, there’s always lots to enjoy. If we tried something and didn’t care for it, we tried something else and kept our vacation moving. 7 mile beach is the best beach we’ve found in all our travels and those sunsets bring us back time and time again! What really makes this place though is the staff. KerryAnn and Indera made the best drinks. Marion, Kerriann, Rita and so many others made us feel welcome and cared for at meals times. Cheryl provided one of the best massages I’ve ever had at the spa (this is my second visit to Azul and second massage with her - HIGHLY recommend). Jermaine, our concierge, checked in on us every day and was a wonderful host and guide. This was a return trip for us so we were excited to reconnect with so many amazing people, including the warm smile and kind heart of Roxanne. If you’re hesitant based on others feedback, I encourage you to give this place a try, we have grown to love the people of Jamaica and this resort will give you the feel of the heart of this great place.

- E6055ZUtc (2/5): SOLO FEMALE TRAVELLERS BEWARE - PREDATORY STAFF & POLICE INTIMIDATION - I am a solo female traveler and I feared for my life at this resort. The Stalking: A staff member (bartender) stalked and harassed me for the duration of my stay, even following me to my private swim-out room despite being told "NO" repeatedly. The Intimidation: Instead of protecting a guest, the resort called the police to intimidate me. I was taken off-resort to a slum police station where I was cornered in a room by three armed officers. One officer refused to provide their names or badge numbers, despite dozens of requests. I had to act as my own pseudo-lawyer in a high-stakes, terrifying environment just to survive the night. The Aftermath: I am deeply traumatized and in physical distress. While I was in the middle of a panic attack, resort management continued to harass me to sign paperwork to protect their own liability. They do not care about your safety; they care about their reputation. My family and the Canadian authorities are now involved. DO NOT STAY HERE. You are not safe at this property.

Daily rainfall but that just meant better planning required. One of the best beaches we have ever been on. Spa was good and the massages were excellent. As a member, appreciated the extra supportbprovided by the butlers Dwayne and Tamera. So glad to also hear you are all ok after the hurricane at the end of 2025. Staff throughout were unbeatable and on hand to have a laugh as well as ensure we felt brilliant.

The people that work at their resort are extremely kind and very helpful. Some of the best service I’ve ever had at a resort. The food was fantastic. I’ve been to quite a few all inclusive, and this is one of the best. Not a ton of options for restaurants , but what you get is very good for an all inclusive. As far as drinks, I’m not a big drinker, but I will tell you they were pretty strong and tasted delicious. This all inclusive does not cut corners on your beverages. Every place when you’re traveling will have an issue or two. Some of the issues are based on what we do not know when we book the stay. The front desk staff does need to be empowered to do more service recovery quicker. They recovered, but it took far too long and it wasn’t by them. When we were struggling with our room , they corrected it. We ended up in a fantastic room, exactly what we thought we would have. We will absolutely return here again. They had a rainy day activities, which was another plus that other places don’t have if you want to enjoy the ocean and the beach and be treated well. This is the place to go. We chose Premier level and I’m very pleased with everything they offered us. This is what I call a beautiful, relaxing vacation if that’s what you’re looking for. It is definitely worth the drive from the airport to be in this fantastic location. It was very clean. With 24 hour room service!

- vanessawS4079AL (2/5): 0/5 - WORST RESORT STAY EVER - I stayed at Azul Beach Resort Negril in December. Unfortunately, this was one of the most disappointing hotel experiences I have ever had. Check in was quick and the bellman who assisted us was kind and professional. That was one of the very few positives. I had booked a swim up suite and was extremely disappointed when I saw the room. It was outdated, had a strong unpleasant odor as if it had been closed for a long time, visible mold on the wall, and a very small swim up area located in a public space with no privacy. The room did not feel premium in any sense and felt more like a low budget motel than a high quality resort. I contacted the Front Desk and was told that better swim up rooms were available at an additional cost. After already paying close to $500 USD per night dollars, I did not see the benefit of paying more for an underwhelming property. I agreed to move to a non swim up room on the premium side, simply because the original room was unbearable. When we moved, we discovered that there was no electricity on that entire side of the property. We were not warned in advance. The outage lasted for hours and the main buffet was closed because of it. The only restaurant available had a 2 hour wait. Drinks at the bar were poorly made and staff were clearly overwhelmed. When the buffet finally opened, the food was cold and tasteless. Later that night there was no running water. I waited hours. I had to shower using bottled water provided by room service. The water issue continued into the next day and created extremely unsanitary conditions across the resort. Public bathrooms were filthy with urine and farces. Bars struggled to operate. I eventually had to leave the resort and go off property just to use a bathroom and shower. There was no entertainment on property, most of the pools were closed. Only 1 to 2 restaurants and bars were opened - they were crowded and the food and drinks were terrible. While there, I became ill with severe stomach issues and spent the night vomiting. There was no access to anything on property to help. I did not sleep at all. The water briefly returned around midnight and was gone again by morning. When we checked out, there was still no water. We could not shower before leaving. The Front Desk agent did not ask how our stay was, did not apologize, and did not acknowledge the ongoing issues at all. Management was clearly aware of the situation yet no one communicated with guests or showed any accountability. The only bright spots were the bellmen and bartenders. They were courteous, clearly stressed, and doing their best in an impossible situation. I chose to write to management privately about this experience over a month ago and gave them the opportunity to respond before posting publicly. To date, my email has not been acknowledged. The lack of response only reinforces how little guest experience seems to matter. Jamaica has a lot beautiful, high quality resorts - Azul Beach Negril is not one of them.

I nevertheless decided to visit with 4 friends of mine. I was lucky enough to get the “best room” at the resort! It was the perfect spot! I wanted to love the place but I just couldn’t over look some things. I broke the rules and smoked on my patio and near the beach. I saw people smoking on balconies all over plus saw a few people smoking in the pool. I brought multiple ash trays from the states.I have L3/4 nerve damage and the Azul isn’t exactly handicapped accessible. It’s a huge massive resort way too big for the small amount of rooms. It takes 15 to walk the resort. I can walk (it’s called Foot Drop) I smoke weed it helps with the nerve pain. The GM Axel Parckel was extremely rude and arrogant(I was never introduced to him though I asked multiple times to talk with him) it could have solved issues faster . I know he’s from Europe but when 80% of Jamaicas tourist comes from the States you should show us some respect! Jamaica is changing and in order to grow the Gov and resorts must do more to keep all smokers welcomed. You don’t need to advertise it just give us more spaces. I know a hurricane happened but they aren’t ready for Prime Time” I’m sure Barbra Burton (Former GM of the Jewel Paradise Cove) in Runaway Bay could teach him some manners and respect. The air of European superiority was fragrant through the air, Kinda like the smell of bad cheese from France. The food was always cold and bad! It wasn’t fettuccine with chicken. It was fettuccine soup with chicken tidbits.It was bad. I tried to instal an app and get food delivered. Yah the food was that bad. The meal I got back to Chicago on American Airlines was the best meal of the trip! Thank you for making it easy to find out the apx occupancy of the resort! They will offer you an upgrade before arrival and it shows how many rooms are available in each room class, then you match it against number of rooms 290 I think x double occupancy. I knew it would be dead it was! The location, people great but the food was inedible not to mention a worker asked me for my room service beer! I said no! I’ll never return. Your GM is the reason I won’t return ! I mean centralize things and keep the bars open past 5! Hey I only didn’t 3-6k each visit on rooms!

- Dreamer06037035108 (10/5): First Vacation to Negril Jamaica - This was our first visit to Jamaica. My best friend and husband have been coming down and staying at the Azul for over a decade so we decided to join them this year. Best. Decision. Ever. We arranged for a private transfer with Errol Flynn Tours and has the pleasure of having Clifford, as our driver. He was prompt, polite, and gave us descriptions of the region as we drove through to Negril. We heard both happy descriptions as well as some sad ones relating to the devastation that parts of this beautiful island are still facing. We were there December 19-26 and stayed in the Prestige (Premium) section (and we’ve already booked our vacation for 2026!) Travelling with my mom and adult daughter, we stayed in adjoining swim-up suites in building 10. I was shocked at how BIG the suites are. One suite had a king size bed, the other two queen size beds. Walk in closet/bathroom with two sinks, and large walk in shower. Undoubtedly, the best resort room I’ve ever had. We were lucky that we had no rain during the day the entire week (it rained at night one evening), temperatures were between 28 and 30°C every day. Paradise. The beach is white, pristine sand that surprisingly does not get hot - I recall walking to dispose of a water bottle in the garbage receptacle and noting that I had walked the entire distance in bare feet and my feet were not scorching hot from the sand…how is that possible…lol) The water is spectacular - the gorgeous signature shades of Caribbean blue, and warm. And you can walk out quite a distance, and it remains quite shallow. You can spot some fish, stingrays and starfish in the waters right in front of the resort and many guests rent snorkel gear and wade out to the buoys to see some more. You can also rent stand-up paddle boards or kayaks if you’re feeling adventurous. There is a great animation team that organizes beach volleyball, bocce ball tournaments, pool foam parties, etc. And to Mr. Beats for the amazing entertainment organized in the evenings to keep us “jammin’ in Jamaica”. But I’ve outgrown all of that sort of activity and was just happy lounging underneath my beach umbrella and spending copious amounts of time in that gorgeous water. Because the hotel is not at full capacity yet, due to many people cancelling or postponing their trips after hurricane Melissa, they were rotating some of the restaurants while we were here We had breakfast at the Mahogany buffet every morning, good assortment of food to choose from. Get a made-to-order omelet from Miss Hyacinth. So worth it. We had one dinner and Christmas Eve dinner at the Italian restaurant (Christmas dinner included a choice of beef Wellington with half lobster tail, or turkey with mashed potatoes - they were both delicious). We had one dinner at the Asian restaurant (overall pretty good, we went in knowing that you can’t compare it to Asian food back home). Every day, you can get salad, hamburgers, barbeque chicken hotdog, and french fries from the outdoor grill in between buildings, 11 and 10. Shout out to the amazing Chef Michael, and his team for grilling up some amazing eats. One of the highlights of the week was freshly baked Jamaican beef and chicken patties brought straight to us on the beach by our amazing butlers (Rashane and Shari) Washed down with some ice cold Red Stripe beer? Amazing! We did venture off resort one day, to go to visit the iconic Rick’s Café for cocktails, and to watch some brave guests, jumping off the cliffs. Followed by a gorgeous sunset dinner at Ivan’s (coconut shrimp, coconut chicken, grilled or pan fried red snapper, broiled lobster tail and the best rum raisin ice cream). This experience was spectacular and we will definitely come back again next year. Lastly, it’s the people that make this island such a remarkable place to visit. Especially the people who work so hard at the Azul resort, we thank them from the bottom of our hearts and cannot wait to have these yearly memories with them all. Special thanks goes out to: Tineta, Tavaida, Celina, Abigail for such a warm welcome and flawless check in Dean - the friendliest and warmest bell-hop you’ll ever meet Shari and Rashane - our butlers who go above and beyond every single day to ensure that we have everything we need make our vacation memorable. Travis, Dave and Talicia - our beach butlers who kept us hydrated (and a little tipsy) on the beach. - drthomas2005 (8/5): Very enjoyable Christmas at Azul! Best beach in Negril!!! - This resort has the absolute BEST beach in Negril! If you’re looking for a resort with a breathtaking beach, calm waters and 4-star accommodations - then book your stay at Azul. Our first impression was a bit concerning. We had a reservation for two adults/2 children and when we entered the room, we only had two towels/2 washcloths and three pillows. We called the front and requested more pillows, which they told us we would have to wait until tomorrow because they didn’t have enough. That seemed crazy since the resort was less than 50% occupied. We ended up getting pillows within an hour after they said they didn’t have any. Needless to say, not a great first impression, but after traveling to Jamaica more than once, you learn it’s a go with the flow vibe. It always ends up working out. Our concierge Tashna made sure that we had everything that we needed the week of our stay. She even provided helpful recommendations for excursions with kids. We read a LOT of reviews before arriving. They had me very concerned about the food options. But after our stay, I can tell you that the food was not an issue for us or our children. In fact, we enjoyed all of the food! Timing is everything though…don’t wait to eat until the restaurant is about to close. We called Karisma resorts main line before arriving and they assured us that all the restaurants are open. But one restaurant at the front of the hotel called Palms was never opened during our stay. However , what many fail to understand is that not all restaurants are open at the same time each day. This is standard for every all-inclusive resort we’ve been to over the past 20 yrs of traveling. They usually rotate restaurants depending on hotel capacity. Since we’re traveling from EST, we tend to be earlier risers and like to eat early dinners (5-6p). We never had an issue getting into a restaurant or running out of food, ever! We had great service and never encountered any issues with food. I don’t want to downplay anyone else’s negative experiences, but I don’t think an all-inclusive option is for everyone. If you enjoy all-inclusive resorts, then this one is really a great option. You can find a negative in everything. We stayed at a huge Hard Rock Resort a few months ago & I prefer a smaller quaint resort like Azul Beach. As I said in the beginning of this review, the beach here is stunning! Such beautiful blue water and the roped off area for the resort is pretty shallow for young kids. You can easily touch the bottom until you’re almost to the edge of the roped off area. It’s a perfect beach to lay in a pool float because the waves are calm and relaxing. They have very strong security at the beach and won’t allow for vendors to approach you while relaxing. If you want to purchase jewelry or souvenirs (which I highly recommend), they may ask you to walk a few feet off of the resort so that the vendors don’t get in trouble. Our beach waitress Kadian was attentive and checked on us often. She was great! If you get tired of the food here, there’s amazing options right next door at Fireman’s Lobster Restaurant. We enjoyed our lunch there with crab, lobster and fish! We even paid him to get us authentic jerk chicken from “Best in the West”, a well known Jamaican restaurant. All of it was incredible! The “Lobster Man” walks the beach advertising his lobster restaurant, but he also sells fresh coconut waters for $10. My son ordered one a few times throughout our stay. On Christmas Eve, Azul had a top notch Christmas buffet with grill lobster, jerk chicken, pasta, oysters, shrimp and so many amazing desserts! It was truly a dinner feast to remember. They had Santa visiting the kids at the resort too, such a nice touch! We had housekeeping daily by Donna and had no issues, it was great service and they kept our mini fridge stocked too. Our beach lifeguard JJ was exceptional! Our son loved throwing the football and playing some soccer with him. Such friendly staff at the beach! If you want a cabana, make sure you wake up early to get the seating you desire and enjoy the peaceful waves while sipping coffee. I wish the coffee bar opened earlier than 7am, but you have a coffee maker in your room if you want coffee sooner. The gym is much bigger than expected & has all the workout equipment you could need while on vacation. We took a water taxi to Rick’s Cafe. Ocean Quest Sports boat is a red boat that comes to the front of the resort with an inflatable couch to give rides too. The kids loved it! They offer a water taxi for a private ride for just our family, which I prefer, and we just messaged them when we were ready to be picked up from Rick’s Cafe. A much more memorable experience than a land taxi ride. There’s a great gift shop to the right of the resort next to Fireman’s Lobster Restaurant. There’s also a massage hut that charges $1 per minute beside the gift shop along with someone named Mama-C who braids hair for $2-$3 per braid. Mama-C also sells handmade jewelry too. Again, anything you can think of, you’ll find while staying at Azul. Here’s where I’ll interject my opinion… tips go a long way! There’s a saying, “you get what you pay for” and that’s always been our motto while traveling for the past 20 yrs and it’s never steered us wrong. Some make the mistake that paying for an all-inclusive means everything is included, but tips aren’t and they will make your experience much better when the staff feels appreciated. This resort is still in need of a few maintenance and aesthetic upgrades to truly be a 5-star resort. Some of it may be due to the recent hurricane. The Royalton resort is nearby and still hasn’t reopened yet. We’re lucky that Azul is smaller and could rebound quickly for Christmas. We had a very memorable Christmas week at Azul and I’m glad that the negative reviews we read weren’t remotely true for us. We will definitely recommend this resort to our friends too!

Our wedding coordinators Carla, Dwight, and Danielle were amazing. Anything we wanted or needed, they made happen. They went above and beyond at every step and ensured our wedding day was completely perfect. The ceremony on the Sky Deck was stunning, and the beach reception was everything we dreamed of and more. The wedding day food was delicious, DJ Big Red was fantastic and played the room perfectly, and the serving and bar staff were so kind, attentive, and professional. Everything flowed seamlessly and exceeded our expectations. From the moment we arrived, the resort staff made us feel welcome. Dean was the first person we met and remained a ray of sunshine throughout our stay. Jorge and Manuel (food & beverage managers) made us feel at home and ensured everything we needed was taken care of. Tamara and Roxanne from Butler Services were incredibly attentive and wonderful to work with. The food and drinks throughout our stay were great, the beach was beautiful, and the rooms and grounds were very clean and well maintained. Given the recent hurricane and its impact on morale and the local economy, I was truly impressed by how well the staff maintained their excellent customer service. My room was clean, and although only one or two of the eight or nine restaurants were open, the food was decent. Our swim-up room was also very nice, with a great ocean view! I met some lovely staff members and fellow guests during my stay. And the ocean was absolutely breathtaking.

One area that requires attention is housekeeping. Unfortunately, one of the towels provided was torn, which I only noticed after attempting to use it. This was a significant turn-off and highlights the need for closer quality checks to maintain guest comfort and standards.

JJ our lifeguard taught me so many new things I've never experienced and allowed me to cross 3 things off my bucket list. JJ took his position at Azul very Serious. In at 5am and worked until 5 at night. Not enough thank yous. The guys and girls at the water sports hut . Outstanding customer service skills, kove you guys. Food was good wish there was more late night food options. Great trip thank you one and all. God Bless you all.

They had low occupancy, so only one or two options were available, at opposite ends of the property, (13 blocks long) Food selection was poor and quality was poor. Queues for a table were parties for 12 - 15 tables long and once the carvery was finished, that was it... no replacements and no substitutes were supplied. The food was most definitely NOT Gourmet. I would never go back.

They promised us three restaurant options and only one was available to the entire hotel, so seating was inadequate and we had to wait a while to be seated. Lack of night entertainment. Bathroom small. Furniture outdated. Staff not courteous or helpful for the most part.. a few of them were ok though. We could go on and on.

Not enough restaurants open at on time. The buffet was not open every day. The beach and the pools were good. We did not get to experience any night time entertainment because it rained every day. No I would not visit this resort again.

They advertise all of these restaurants and bars but you are lucky if one is open maybe two for dinner. Breakfast was a .25 mile walk from one end of the resort to the other every day. Our room never had clean towels and when requested they were on back order. Minibar was never stocked. The drink choices at the bar were completely bottom shelf if they had that alcohol type at all. They couldn't make half of the drinks because they didn't have the correct alcohol to do so. They have a list of bottles to purchase and they didn't even have those in stock. Be sure to steer clear of your "personal concierge" as they are only interested in getting you to a timeshare presentation and once there they berate you to stay saying they will get in trouble if you leave. There were a few nice staff but most left little to be desired. Very disappointed with this resort.

- marybX4997MW (2/5): Beware done go to this resort - Where do I start, well I will say this was my second time at this resort first time was a five star this time it was a one star here is my experience arrived oct 8 decided to upgrade to a swim out room problems right away low water pressure had to fill the ice bucket to flush the toilet,no pressure in shower the tap on the sink was very lose we complained as we paid almost $1000 for the upgrade and using an ice bucket to flush was rediculous so the moved us to the honeymoon suite ,room was not a swim out but it was nice until it rained, I went to get up from the bed almost fell the window leaked the floor was flooded had to use all the towels to dry it up.So about the resort and things we were not told only one restaurant open the first 4 days they advertised 9 Buffett open for breakfast and lunch only,after4 days there was some times two restaurants open.They offer several pools but they close them when they want for instance our pool by our room was closed the last two days we were there no premium liquor as advertised had to call to get coffee in the room no creamer in the room for coffee also mini bar was not always filled had to call.So in all it was a big waste of money for us I would not recommend this resort they said it was because of low capacity but they do not advertise that they lie and tell you your getting everything.Our travel agents don’t know this either.They did try to give us a few perks like a dinner on the beach was nice and birthday decorations in the room but overall the resort was not what we paid a lot of money for very very dissatisfied and they lost a customer which I doubt they care.In short do your homework before you go as most of the people we spoke to on the resort were not happy also the restaurant that was open was at the farthest part of the property so a good walk from your room
- ivorib2024 (10/5): Awesome Experience - This place was so awesome I can’t believe I waited so long to leave a review! My week was filled with enjoyable experiences. The ladies at the bar were so accommodating especially Sheryl and Kerrian. Kerrian’s espresso martini was to die for! Also, big shout out to Dentonia for providing exceptional and timely service during the lobster sale on the beach. I can’t wait to come back to try the lobster again!!

- Sheldon (2/5): - The beach was beautiful. The rooms were old with the worst furnitures ever seen in a resort, Water from the shower will run into the floor leading up into the room. TV was not working and no hair blow dryer available. Limited food choice with the worst Cafe shop ever. Only one restaurant was open and entertaining none existed. Luckily the staff members were amazing and tried their very best to assist us with the limited resources they had to make our stay somewhat comfortable.
- Q7497AUfrancisw (10/5): Amazing Vacation!!!! - This is a small resort - and it is a family friendly resort. All the rooms on this resort face the ocean. There are kids pools and adult pools at this resort. The food here is amazing. And there is also room service available for pickie eaters. The entertainment staff is amazing. A big Shout-out to TT, Flamez, Tio, Landou and Antou - they are amazing and get the crowd involved. We travelled there at the end of Sep and came back beginning Oct. The weather was great and the beach is very calm and clear. You can sometimes see starfish and stingrays if you come early enough in the morning to the beach. The staff are amazing and the resort also has a coffee shop, where you can get treats from baked goods to cappuccinos and lattes to ice cream for the kids. And the best part of the coffee shop is they serve Jamaican patties which are amazing.

The entire resort is in disrepair and needs some attention. We had a significant medical event in one of the rooms due to a tile slicing into a foot. The resort at the start reluctantly tried to resolve and in the end paid for the medical staff that had to come to the resort. The resort did offer to comp the one room for one night.

- Paul (8/5): - Azul staff is outstanding and friendly. We are return guests and many remembered us. Entertainment crew (Anton, Flames, Tio, TT) kept their energy level high even though it was low season. While it was understandable that one restaurant at a time would be open due to low occupancy alternating between only two restaurants was not ideal. Perhaps opening different restaurants during the week or keeping the buffet open would help. It seemed strange to run out of so many things considering low capacity. Management needs to be more accountable for these shortcomings and correct so that front line employees do not need to hear the complaints from guests. Hopefully the misses are corrected as we would love to return. The beach is absolutely incredible!

There were plugs in my room that did not work. The staff are who made the stay worthwhile. Nameisha and Shyaine at Customer Service, Tina at the pool bar and the many servers at The Palm that made the experience fantastic and bearable.

The worst hotel I’ve ever visited. - I understand it’s the slow season with lower occupancy, but that should never mean compromising the guest experience. Only one restaurant was open each night, with no alternative dining options. This was extremely limiting. We ended up dining at the Jamaican cuisine restaurant twice, and unfortunately, the Italian restaurant was a major letdown—the food quality was far below expectations. On Wednesday night at the Italian restaurant, service was especially poor. The waitress did not introduce herself, and when we politely asked for her name, her response was, “A wa u want?”—completely unprofessional and disappointing. To make matters worse, one evening while heading out for an excursion, we encountered a room service staff member in the hallway. She told us she was about to deliver our food. We let her know we were leaving and no longer needed it. When we approached her to retrieve one of the plates to go, she picked up the food basket off the floor—which had our meal inside. This raised serious concerns about hygiene and service standards. The café experience was also underwhelming—pastries were handed out in a napkin, not even served on a proper plate or in a takeaway container. At the bar, there was no presentation or attention to detail with the drinks—served without garnish, and without any flair. Small things like this really affect the overall atmosphere and value. I could go on, but overall, the lack of consistency and attention to guest experience was a major disappointment. That said, the highlight of our stay was the Spa. Huge shout-out to Kayon , Roxanne, Michelle, Cheryl, and the rest of the spa team for their warm hospitality and excellent customer service. They truly made us feel welcomed and relaxed. Thank you also to Latoya , the front desk agent, and Renee from concierge who arranged for someone to assist with setting up birthday decorations (apologies for not remembering the name of the lovely young lady who helped). Finally, we want to thank Shantel, our waitress at the morning buffet, Qwayne from the Jamaican cuisine restaurant, and Shamar, the bellman. Each of them showed true professionalism and hospitality—they were bright spots in an otherwise disappointing experience.

We recently stayed at Azul Beach Resort Negril with a party of nine for our wedding, and it was an incredible experience from start to finish. The food was very good, and the staff were absolutely excellent — friendly, attentive, and genuinely caring. A huge thank you to Dwight, Danielle, and Carla for making sure our wedding went off without a hitch. They went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect, even arranging to have a large boat moved that was docked behind our photo spot — amazing service! The rooms were spacious and the beds extremely comfortable. The beach itself is absolutely gorgeous — truly one of the best in Jamaica. Special thanks as well to JJ the lifeguard and Tyrell, who made our vacation even better with their great energy and hospitality. The grounds could use a bit of updating, but we understand renovations are scheduled for early next year. We can’t wait to see the improvements — we’ll definitely be back!
- Expedition474683 (2/5): Inconsiderate and Insensitive!!!! - I'm appalled by this hotel's insensitive, inconsiderate, unempathetic, and rigid behaviour, in a situation that I believe the hotel could have used its discretion. I booked some clients to stay at this property on Saturday, October 04, 2025, for ONLY one night. One member of the party did not bring their ID, and can you believe the hotel did not allow the clients to check in, even though the accommodation was paid in full. I am totally at a loss for words in this unfortunate situation; they are an elderly couple, and if they both did not have an ID I could understand, but Azul Beach Resort, you denied this family from checking in. They were only staying for one night to attend a wedding close by, and they live three (3) hours away. If this is the way in which you treat clients, I would NEVER recommend any one to stay there!!!!!

The food was extremely simple and of poor quality — after this vacation we could hardly eat eggs anymore, since they were practically the only option for breakfast. The entertainment was weak, the service very poor, and the beach was always lacking. Although they advertise many restaurants, in reality only one was open. I truly don’t understand how some people give this resort amazing reviews. Perhaps they have never stayed at another resort before Azul.

Walkways were in terrible condition, would be very difficult for someone with mobility issues. It’s the slow season so I understand not all restaurants being open, but to only have one option daily for breakfast and dinner is crazy. We stayed for 5 nights and only got to try three places. The bars, room service and restaurants were constantly out of everything as well. The location is beautiful and the beach was gorgeous, but it left a lot to be desired. The staff over all was very nice and welcoming, the spa had limited facilities but service was great. The entertainment staff was awesome and we had a lot of fun, but they forced you to leave good reviews in front of them and it felt very awkward.
- marcia (4/5): - Please note online azul advertise they has 7 to 9 restaurant what they don’t say is only one is open nightly for dinner. This is unacceptable, went to the ackee restaurant my first night and nothing on menu I could eat. Another strange thing about this property you go to buffet for breakfast you’re told no ackee and salt fish for breakfast but you can order from room service. This all inclusive is really a joke. Customer service tried thou, but at the end of day their hands are tied.
