Guest Reviews
- Lluis M (10/5): - We stay 3 different days in Le Stanley hotel and all is OK. Very recommendable. Is very near for the Magenta airport (Domestics flights)
The personal, Owner, Director and the personal desk very friendly and attend all the questions of the clients.
Is excellent place if you visit the others islands (Ouvea, Lifou, Mare and Isles des Pins) because they can take your baggage and put in the left luggage and you go to the domestic flights (only 12Kg) without problems of more kg in the aircraft.
- C4639XZlab (10/5): Perfect stay for a quiet holiday, stunning views - Super clean, staff was very friendly and reactive. Good value for the breakfast, great view, super quiet and bed comfortable. The hotel is a bit older, so design is certainly outdated and at places it could use some fresh paint.
- Angie (10/5): - Au top
- rajesh (4/5): - Need to do some spraying
- 526iainm (8/5): Great accommodationi with wonderful views - It's an older hotel in a residential area on the eastern side of Noumea at Ouemo. The staff are friendly and helpful and there are two large free car parks.
We stayed in room 306 and thoroughly loved it, as it was very spacious and had cooking facilities and a good balcony, with wonderful views of the bay. There was a large television with numerous channels.
There's a small beach and a swimming pool. There is also a well stocked shop at reception, that has a good selection of microwavable meals, cheese, cold meats, milk, drinks and juices. You can also buy toiletries. There's an in-house laundrette, that you pay for 24-hour usage, but the dryers are free.
We'd certainly stay here again.
- Martin (8/5): - No cooking utensils
- Ian (4/5): - Pretty average
- 941lizzym (2/5): Shocking hotel with lovely views!! - Shocking rooms with a lovely tiny balcony view (hence 1 star and not zero!). Sadly the Hibiscus rooms at Le Stanley have not been maintained in decades. Grime in every corner, chipped paint, woodwork and walls, holes in sheets, gurgling drains, rust in bathroom and a downright dangerous shower/bath. I had to request my room be cleaned by day 4 of my 7 day stay as no one came near it!! Zero security with randoms knocking on doors late overnight on the weekends (able to just walk in off the street) and thumping music many nights. Paper thin walls with noisy people on all sides. The list goes on and on. Local bus service good for day trips but completely stranded after 6.30pm with no restaurant on site or close by (although there is a small snacks and quick meals shop in the foyer which is appreciated). The location is a long way from the centre of Nouméa in a residential area. The one shining light for the location was the lovely mangroves walk through to Amorino Café (1.3km) in the big park by the river. Sorry Le Stanley but you are Le Has Been and not recommended!!

- WuhanLeonie (10/5): We will be back - Staff were really helpful and we are sorry we have not stayed here before as we travel to noumea most years
The view was beautiful and room perfect and quiet at night
We used the kitchen in the room and it was clean with enough for us to enjoy a simple dinner and breakfast
Car parking for free and lift with luggage trolley made things easy
- Natalie (10/5): - New Caledonia in comparison to NZ and AU is quite expensive, you get good value for money here. It's a bit off the beaten track, which we prefer. It's dated, but has everything one would otherwise need. Be sure to take advantage of the breakfast, it's huge and only $23 NZD. We stayed a couple of different nights in a suite and each room opens out either directly to the water (level 1) or with views to the ocean (level 2) and were clean and large. The staff were lovely, having google translate helped with one of our trickier queries. The staff were very accommodating, recommend having a car, but there is a bus that ran quite frequently too (didn't use it, but there was always one whenever we went to our car). Highly recommend especially if you're just needing somewhere safe to spend the night.
- Gene (8/5): - Very clean and freindly staff room had convenient kitchen but is a fair way from the central part of the city.
- paloma9350 (6/5): Lagoon view only, the rest tired hotel in need of TLC, 2 stars type hotel except for the view - Staff friendly, they booked our airport pick up. On arrival at midnight we were given yhe AC remote, so we enter a very hot room, then later become a freezing room because the AC was set up at 20 degrees. Also there was not toilet paper at all,our room was on the 3er floor towards the end, miles away from reception and no toilet paper in the middle of the night. Also the recepcionist spoke very little English. The WIFI its limited you have to pay extra for it,everything it's extra even a bottle of water. Nice water viwe but very poor, dirty, unrenovated place.
- Ernest (8/5): - Beautiful balcony views onto the bay, swimming pool, excellent value breakfast and small shop with grocery items. Bus stop connecting to all Noumea buses outside the hotel door as well as two large capacity car parks. Reception staff ever so helpful & fantastic if you want either assistance practicing your limited French or those with no knowledge of French.
- John (8/5): - Le Stanley is showing its age. Nevertheless, you can't find a hotel that is more convenient if you are flying in or out of Magenta airport (downtown Nouméa. It's a short cab ride away or a regular stop for the shuttle bus to the main airport about 50 minutes north. Good breakfast choices. Nice views, in fact everything works okay but it's best to do your wifi work in the little office by reception for good reason.
- Carmit (8/5): - Lovely 3* hotel.
With great pool, nice view and friendly, helpful staff.
Room is basic but not a bad stay if you are on a budget.
- G329RHdougw (8/5): Location - Stayed at Hotel Le Stanley in January 2023. The location is a little remote but the outlook over the ocean more than compensates. The pool sits right next to the pier.
The hotel has been recently refurbished. The service was excellent. You would need a car though if you were staying there ie due to the rem,ote location
Merci d'avance

- W1721LJstephenh (8/5): Very Fond Memories - I stumbled across this page by accident & had to recall my experience of staying here for almost a week some 22 years ago! (I had to choose July 2021 as date of stay as that is the oldest date available). I remember the hospitality & helpfulness of the staff, the lovely swimming pool, the stunning view across the lagoon & the clear water with so many brightly coloured fish I had never seen before. The location is maybe not the best but we made use of the local buses & managed very well. The hotel was very quiet when we stayed there & we used the restaurant most nights for dinner & the food was exceptional. I have very fond memories of Le Stanley & I'm glad to see that you are still thriving.
- Karen (10/5): - From the front this is a seemly modest hotel but first impressions can be wrong. Le Stanley is a wonderful hotel, the location is superb, the views amazing and the staff were so helpful. I plan to visit regularly.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Property was great as we wanted to also have the ability to cook for ourselves. It was a 10 minute drive from Noumea CBD. There was no gym which was a little disappointing.
- cliffordchambers (8/5): Showing its age but still friendly - This hotel has seen better days and the salt laden sea air is taking its toll, but the staff are lovely, the views are beautiful and it's very practical for the early morning flight from Magenta to Ile des Pins. You can also leave your hired car here and the hire company pick it up the next day.
You can buy frozen food and heat it up in your microwave, nothing special but it feeds you OK.
We had a good night's sleep here, the breakfast was OK, with nice views over the bay and, as I said, the staff are really nice and helpful
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Quiet, private rooms and close to the coast. Some distance to a restaurant except for breakfast when hotel restaurant is open.
- Scott (8/5): - A little off the beaten path, but very nice overall. Full kitchen, nice views, a pool, and a small beach. Small store at reception carries some basics, otherwise you can catch the bus into Noumea. Great if you have a car, and they have free parking. WiFi was very good.
- Liza-Ann (8/5): holiday in the sun - A lovely spot that has a good bus system right outside the door, good wee supermarket not far and peaceful location! We loved our view over the great swimming pool out to the lagoon. Bed was comfy but the pillows weren’t great, overdue for new ones! Staff were friendly but would be better if they had signs in English and not just French, as the language barrier made it difficult at times. Enjoyed our breakfast one morning in the restaurant...yummy and reasonably priced! Love Noumea and will definitely go back!
- VeroniqueM68 (8/5): Lovely views of the lagoon - Room clean and serviceable.
Yes it is a little out of town but we used the local buses with no problems.
The hotel arranged shuttle to/from international airport at our request.
Green/white taxis were not expensive however we waited half an hour at the cinema for pick up on Friday evening but then booked the lovely female driver (who was accompanied by her husband) for further trips. Again reasonable cost but en liquide (cash) only.
French breakfast excellent quality and value. During le petit dejeuner on the deck we saw two large stingrays close in to shore. Wow!
Some distance to the local supermarket but the hotel has a little store with cheese, terrines and fresh baguette daily. Even the odd croissant.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - No porter help with heavy suitcases. Have to buy wifi.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The suite had a lovely view of the sea. The suite had all the amenities we needed. The suburb where the Hotel is situated it quiet with lovely homers. There was a nearby bus into the city. A little out of the city.
- clarebelleuk (8/5): Stay for the lagoon - We stayed at The Stanley for two nights in a sea view room with a little balcony with that lovely view of the lagoon. We enjoyed evening wine, our morning coffee, watching birds, boats and kite surfers from our ring side seat. The hotel is dated but clean and the bed was comfortable. We own a small hotel in NZ and always appreciate similar small operations. Staff were incredibly friendly at check-in and helpful, printing off boarding passes for a flight at no extra charge. We'd read the reviews before booking but liked the idea of it being out of the main part of town. It is really quiet at night. But I like that. We had a car and there is a carpark so the location wasn't a problem. It is pretty tight and some strangers car dented our door. The pool area was surprisingly small, hotels often mislead with stretch photos but we enjoyed a little paddle and sunbathed. We barely used the kitchen as we ate out for all meals. One night would have been enough, Noumea in itself isn't that interesting, the islands and the rest of New Caledonia was way more exciting for us.
- CameronT629 (4/5): Location is out on it's own with nothing much close by... Le Stanley is looking a bit tired and in need of renovation. - Disappointed after reading reviews and expecting much more. Earlier in the trip we stayed at Casa Del Sole which was cheaper and far far superior and better location. Le Stanley is looking tired with parts of the exterior crumbling, hot water barely over luke warm (had to go max temp for a bearable shower) but the worst thing is the location..ok the setting is fine but nothing close by... restaurants, bars, shops, patisseries all require a taxi/bus... Do yourself a favour and stay Baie des Citrons, or Anse Vata Beach area instead
- Quoc Lam (8/5): Wifi payant - Wifi tres limitee
- patrickhL9219DK (8/5): Good hotel in a quiet setting - The Hotel Le Stanley is right on the seafront in a quiet part of Noumea about 5-6 km from the main part of town. We stayed for 6 nights in total (5 + 1). The view from the balcony is lovely and the area is really peaceful, except the infrequent planes to the local airport. Being out of town, I would highly recommend hiring a car. The room has a kitchenette so self catering is a possibility, however the nearest mini market is about 2km away. We didn't use the green and white taxis but got caught with private ones and paid way more than we should have the first night which made our decision to hire a car simple. While the hotel is quite plain, neat, clean and in a grwat setting, the staff were great. They helped with restaurant recommendations and bookings, rang the car rental company and stored a suitcase while we were away for 2 nights, my French is terrible but the ladies in reception were fabulous, I would stay here again, without hesitation.
- RealMcCoy (8/5): - Loved the private balcony, overlooking the shore. Fantastic view, and a great place to relax, with a cup of tea and a book. The building is older, with signs of wear and tear, but the staff are lovely and helpful, there is a beautiful pool, and the property is right on the shoreline. The only "negative" is that you need a vehicle in order to get to the city - it's about a fifteen minute drive away. There is free parking, though.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Nothing was particularly good. The mossies weren’t terrible. May have been the gale force wind
- Verified traveler (6/5): - I liked staff service. I could like to get more space to enjoy the beautiful view. The summing pool area is too small.
- Barbara (10/5): - Exactly what we needed. Quiet, great views, good bus service in town centre
- 92markd92 (8/5): Quiet and relaxing - Stayed at Le Stanley for a short break. It’s a very relaxing hotel. The best feature is the wonderful views over the lagoon from the rooms, with each having a private balcony. Great place to eat breakfast or have an evening wine. The rooms are good size, although the furniture and fittings are getting dated they are still functional.
If staying here though you need to plan. The hotel restaurant only opens for dinner two nights a week and there is nowhere walkable to eat or even get a drink. You will need to plan for self catering which is easy with kitchenettes in each room. It’s really best to have a car if staying here as all attractions of Noumea are too far to walk.
Overall a very relaxing place to stay
- Paul (8/5): - Great views of Saint Marie Bay, rooms had kitchenettes so we were able to self cater, beds were comfortable. Bus to town went by every half hour, walk to supermarket.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Hotel for the homeless - The staff do an excellent job. Friendly and helpful. The location is excellent, 15 mins bus trip to the town with the sea right under the window. No traffic. Noumea itself is only worth a day trip and overnight stay. Sadly, this hotel is used for housing families who live there permanently. 3 generaions to a room. The facilities are dominated by these families, pool unuseable due to the uncontrolled children and ghetto blasters of the parents at loud volume, placed in open windows. I had to visit room 123, 3 times to get them to turn the music down. This lets down a hotel which could otherwise be excellent.
- anthonydK6574MI (8/5): Hotel Le Stanley Noumea is very special. - We stayed at Le Stanley for a week, in a suite, in mid-December. It was a wonderful stay and the view from the balcony and bedroom over the bay was stunning.
The accommodation was first rate and the staff were excellent, with good English.
A couple of points to be aware of: the restaurant, which has a lovely view of the bay, is open for breakfast each day but has limited openings for lunch and dinner.
The location is not in the centre of Noumea but about 5 Kms out. You will need a rental car to get about as the public transport is limited.
We are planning our return to Le Stanley already.
- Verified traveler (10/5): A holiday to remember - The service was excellent and the staff were very pleasant too. It made my mother in law’s stay very happy. The room was clean and the view from her bedroom was beautiful too.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Excentrique stay - Excellent hotel, service and location. Will recommend Le Stanley to anyone. It is worth the money. Thank you for your the care and attention received.
- 938jamiek (10/5): Great views and quiet - This place is away from the party area and well away from the centre of Noumea. It was quiet and all the rooms have magnificent views over the water to the magnificent mountains of the South. Don't take a hotel in the main CBD of Noumea - it seems far too dangerous. This place was safe and secure - their attached restaurant was absolutely delicious and reasonably priced for NC. One of the chefs came to talk to us at the conclusion of our meal - so wonderfully engaging and helpful. The hotel staff were charming and helpful with our lack of French being no problem.
- 72Alessandro (10/5): Perfect hotel close to domestic airport - We stayed for one night and I have nothing to complain about.
Staff was very friendly
The room was clean and the most beautiful sea view.
The kitchenette was fully equipped.
It's close to the domestic airport
- Jacqui (10/5): First night in Noumea in a pleasant motel by sea - We came straight here from the airport and it was clean and comfortable and well priced.
Easy to get to a good restaurant for dinner. In the morning we looked out onto a bay and beach which was pretty to see.
- Robin (8/5): Great place to stay - Spacious, quiet hotel with lovely views and friendly staff.
- markD6441XC (8/5): Quiet and relaxing - Firstly reception very friendly, although little English, but we really appreciated the 24 hour staffed counter as our bus delivered us at 1am! Awesome bay views, quaint little restaurant, huge room which allowed self catering with toaster, jug, fridge, microwave, and own washing machine. We wanted quiet part of town and was perfect.
- GayleS464 (2/5): The worst hotel ever - We would definitely not recommend this hotel. This hotel is part of Accor hotels, which are meant to be 5 star accommodation. On arrival the hotel reception is very old and tired, although the receptionist was lovely. The building/ lifts are also very old and tired, our room was tiny, dark, dark grey beadspreads, absolutely stunk of dig, the bathroom was so old and dark with a shower over the bath - definitely not inviting. Yes the room has a view if the ocean, however it overlooks a very tired, in need of repair and paint, swimming pool. The restaurant was o.k. bright chairs to sit on, and again a nice view of the harbour. The waitress, seemed annoyed when we asked for a menu in English, as she could not communicate with us to explain what anything was on the menu. When you stay at a place out of the way, u need a good restaurant, we found out they only do dinner twice a week. As there is nothing else close by, how can you stay here for a week. We left imnediately and found a beautiful room at the Novata - Palm Beach. Since leaving we have heard they rent out rooms to permanent people looking for long time accommodation. I would strongly not recommend this place and I will be taking it further with Accor/Interval Bookings.
- 50katrinas (8/5): What is loses in proximity, it makes up for in lots of other ways - This hotel is about 20 minute drive from the city and about 10 mins from the beach at Anse Vata. If you have a car, parking is free and a bus (beach/town) goes every 20 minutes from right outside. It only costs 190 xpf per way.
However, what this hotel loses from proximity, it gains in lost of other areas. The view is spectacular. The rooms arent the most modern but quite adequate with large fridge, cooktop and utensils. The wifi was good (and free) and the TV had both english and french channels. Pool is lovely. Staff helpful and friendly. The breakfast was reasonably priced and the vue from the restaurant is amazing.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Awesome time - Very clean,Very good customer service, lovely people, awesome rooms!!!! Thank you
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Ideal location, close to Magenta Domestic Airport which was a requirement for our trip. However inconvenient to main Shopping and Restaurants locations.
- Deni (8/5): - Polite, friendly, accommodating. I had a problem with my first room so I was quickly and efficiently moved to another. No fuss, no bother. Staff were able to problem solve the situation.
- Alan (8/5): - Hotel is obviously old but clean and comfortable. A long way from any shops or other attractions. Restaurant was not open for dinner so had to settle for a microwaved frozen dinner from the hotel shop.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Nice out of town hotel - Unfortunately if u can't speak French u have a problem as the staff cannot speak English. The phone in our room did not work until the last evening dispite telling them several times. Had a party the last 2 nights until 2am had to go up to reception in my PJs because of no phone and complain twice in one evening. We we told that those guests would not be staying the 2nd night but they did. Stil wry had a nice time. The kitchen needs a few more bits in it.
- SC (4/5): Hotel in residential area - Hotel was in a residential area with no shops, restaurants, hotels nearby - bus service only every 1/2 on Saturday and Sunday. Hotel advertised restaurant but this was only for breakfast
- Phill (8/5): Great view and very quiet - The room was spacious, balcony great for breakfast the only criticism was all the chairs are long in the seat-a problem for short people. We needed to use the pillows to have a seat on the lounge/single bed to use the TV.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great view and very quiet - The room was spacious, balcony great for breakfast the only criticism was all the chairs are long in the seat-a problem for short people. We needed to use the pillows to have a seat on the lounge/single bed to use the TV.
- Roz (6/5): Ok but needing a face lift. - Location is away from everything - which has its advantages. Hotel is very dilapidated. Rusting aircon, some lamps in the rooms not working, threadbare sheets and towels. But for the price, good value. Rooms have their own kitchenette, but food from the little shop is limited and expensive. Too far to get to a supermarket/convenience store easily so put up with it. Breakfast is not included in tariff but an additional cost.
- Nina (6/5): Ok hotel for a relatively cheap price - The hotel is in a suburb with no cafes and restaurants nearby so you need a car. There is a regular bus service too. The beach is tiny and the swimming pool is small. The staff are lovely which is the saving grace. Free WiFi is misleading, only a tiny amount each day so you almost have to buy more.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Hotel from Hell - will never go back, very unpleasant experience. Staff don't care if you come and stay or not the probably would prefer you not to come, less work for them
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice stay :) - Very nice hotel with amazing views and calm neighbourhood. Friendly staff and convenient small shop in the hotel for last minute food. Loved our stay!
- Alice (8/5): Great hotel - Nice simple hotel, lovely staff and so so close to the beach. Beautiful pool and bus right at the door.
- Chris (10/5): very comfortable!! - Great pool and many tropical fish to be seen from the dock. Good cooking facilities in our well equipped kitchenette. We were glad we hired a car so we could get out and about as the hotel is not close to the other main hotels- we did like the location! We were able to do many day trips and visit the local markets.
- older bag (4/5): Receptionist couldnt have been less welcoming - Receptionist upon booking couldnt even muster up a smile
Cool and unhelpful. Hotel has nothing around it but rooms overlooking sea nice wind noise through ceilings non stop
Pool nice but pool furniture very old and poor condition ..no cushions very few people staying and i can see why
- Ariane (8/5): Appeasing - That was so relaxing to sleep with the sound of the sea crushing on the shore... no other sound but this one... I love this hotel and the one I love agrees with me as he loves the view while having lunch on the balcony!!
- Experienced tra (10/5): Clean, cosy , quiet hotel with superb water views. - The manager and staff were incredibly helpful and courteous. We had to extend our stay and the management could not have been more helpful. We thoroughly recommend Le Stanley Hotel.
- Peter (10/5): Hotel Le Stanley Noumea New Caledonia
- Hotel is isolated from the main centre of Noumea and one will need a car to get around although there is a bus stop about 10min walk from the hotel. We hired a car and considering the transfer from airport via taxi to hotel cost $35.00 AUD... PER PERSON one way, then you save it in the cost of the hire car. The room we were given was a suite which had a balcony overlooking the bay with a kitchenette/ lounge and separate bedroom with large Queen size bed and en-suite. The room was cleaned every second day with the bed made up with clean sheets and towels supplied. Considering the expense of eating out the cooking facilities was very handy as we tendered to eat in most nights although we did bring our own breakfast items with us to save on $. Swimming pool was clean and nearby is a beach for general use. Hotel staff were friendly and very helpful when required. Overall a pleasant holiday and would book the place again if and when we decide to travel to NC again.
- AP (10/5): Amazing views - The hotel was fine. Housekeeping is every second day. Most staff speak English. Internet is slow, needing constant log in. Went two days without internet. Smoking is allowed on decks (balconies). This was the only negative aspect of the accommodation (the smoking). I recommend this hotel. It has amazing views. It's in a residential area. There is a bus-stop outside the hotel and buses are quite frequent (though, the last bus is at 7pm). The room contains a mini-kitchen. So you purchase your own groceries and cook etc.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - An OK place to stay. Just far out of town, can catch a bus all the way in. No breakfast options
- Verified traveler (8/5): Very enjoyable - Very enjoyable, staff friendly and helpful. Local bus right on the doorstep
- Ida Scarlet (6/5): Quiet spot - The hotel was good and the staff friendly. It takes about 30 minutes by bus to get to downtown Nouméa which is a bit of a pain - but in return we had quiet mornings listening to the sea lap at our door.
- Richard (8/5): Very nice breakfasts - Could do with a bit of a paint but on the whole very nice and quite.
- Steph (8/5): Great view - Great view from the balcony. If you're looking for a relaxing holiday I would highly recommend it! It is a little out of town but that was a good thing as the town doesn't have much to offer. The room was basic but that's all we needed and it was great that it was self contained as we love to cook and enjoyed cooking one night with the amazing produce they have at the bigger supermarkets and bakeries.
- Alvise (8/5): Nice Apartments but far from city - Good place but didn't realise was so far away from shops.
- Hazel (8/5): Nice hotel out of the center - We stayed three nights in a double room. The kitchen was small but fully equipped and in general was the room very comfortable. The hotel is far from the city centre but with a (rental) car this is not a problem at all. The hotel is cheaper then the once in the city center but doesn't make a difference in comfort!
- Helena (8/5): Lovely hotel in the middle of nowhere - The hotel is nice and I didn't have any complaints except the fact that it is a $30 cab drive away from any cafes, bars, restaurants or shops. There is literally nothing there. The beach is tiny and there is no way you can go for a walk there as the sand ends quickly and you find yourself sinking in mud. So overall this wasn't a good holiday experience and I will never go back there.
- John & Trish (8/5): Hotel is isolated and great with a rental car. - Besides isolated location the hotel is great. All rooms have seaviews. The pool is great. Our stay was not a busy time so all was fairly quiet and pleasant. The cooking facilities were above expectations, we often had meals there as dining out is very expensive. No bugs, Internet worked well, car parking great. Overall very good experience. Oh room is only serviced every second day but no problem getting fresh towels.
- Neil (8/5): Friendly Hotel - Great Staff and happy to help out, in quiet area close to Domestic airport but need a car as not near tourist areas or restaurants etc
- Tassy (8/5): Nice view from our balcony. - Hotel was a bit far away from town but in saying this it was a good area to have walks and the bus stop was just outside the front door. We hired a car which give us a good look around Noumea.Go to Les D'Lys de Georges ask for Jackie he will make you a good Australian cappuccino.
- Anne (8/5): Peaceful position away from the city. - I found the Stanley comfortable with very good service from reception and also in the restaurant.
I do not drive so found the regular bus service to Noumea centre easy to use and convenient.
The room was serviced daily to a high standard.
- Kurt (8/5): Quiet beachfront hotel - Good comfortable mid-level hotel on the waterfront. Very helpful staff and pleasant breakfast - pool also looked good. Suffered slightly from the lack of an evening dining option or hotel bar - but 10 - 15 minute drive to main resort areas or town centre. need a car to fully enjoy staying there.
Comfortable pleasant stay.
- Nick (6/5): Poor location if you dont want to self cater. - I booked the hotel for my first trip to Noumea, and i chose wrongly.
THis hotel is designed for self catering.
there were no restaurants nearby, the hotel no longer has a restaurant.
THe receptionist is replaced by a security guy at night so you cannot get money changed. Important to know because taxis in Noumea do not take credit cards.
- Kieta (10/5): Best accommodation in Noumea - Best accommodation in Noumea (we also stayed at two other hotels). Beachfront views, large self contained room, friendly staff at an affordable price. Need means of transport to Noumea CBD however, we had a hire car.
- Verified traveler (8/5): The views are brilliant and the location is good. - We had a great holiday and the staff very very friendly and helpful. The kitchen was very well equipped. We were pleased that we had hired a car since it was needed to get to the more touristy areas.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Suitable Short Stopover Only; Take Your Own Pillow - We booked the hotel because it is close to Magenta Domestic Airport. We arrived late from the International Airport, arriving at the hotel around midnight.
The hotel is clean but it is extremely noisy - you can hear other guests moving around their rooms, playing music, and the air conditioning units from other rooms kept cycling on and off all night.
The beds are very low to the floor, the mattresses are uncomfortable inner spring with the springs sticking into you and the pillows are appalling. They are old, lumpy and it was impossible to get to sleep on them. I spent most of the night sittng upright on a balcony chair.
The following morning I was exhausted for our flight to Ile des Pins.
- Verified traveler (6/5): noumea stopover - As stopover was great! Amazing views on the water and large apartment - I was upgraded to suite, thought good value for stopover. Only downsid is bit way from nightlife and restaurants but made do. Lovely staff, easy, very comfy bed and delightful sitting on private balconies ...
- Mohamed (6/5): Great view from the room ! - Average service. No restaurant. Wifi could be very slow. Bath towels quiet used.
- Chris (8/5): Practical Hotel with Great Views - Can't beat the views from the room's balcony. Rooms are practical with good cooking facilities. Breakfast was good and cheap. Staff friendly and helpful. Probably want to have a car if staying here.
- Maureen (8/5): Very Quiet . Helpful staff. - Would have liked to had access to the restaurant at night. Had a disaster with washing my clothes . There needs to be explicit instructions in English to operate the washing machines. It took nearly 4 hours which was far too long. Apart from this a very pleasant stay. Hotel was not aware I had already paid Expedia and charged me again. Lucky I had my confirmation with Paid in Full on it.
- Asuquo (6/5): Nice hotel. The staff spoke some English - The location is awesome but it is a little bit out of town. The view is breathtaking but the room plus facilities was a disappointment for the price. The TV antenna was broken and picture quality was very poor. The Telephone cable in our room was bad so the phone was not working and we had to receive calls downstairs at reception (one floor above us). This also interfered with internet access. Breakfast menu was all french and there was no English breakfast which was surprising for an international hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful and made sure we were able to find our way round Noumea. They tried to speak English and that was very kind.
