First booked it online for two nights, then extended my stay for three more at the site, after cancelling my Sheraton Hotel reservation. The breakfast buffet was great - something for everybody’s liking. Did’t get a chance to have lunch and dinner at the same restaurant. However, I had lunch at their Cultural Restaurant and it was amazing. The setup, the artwork, the appeal is unforgettable. Ordered Kitfo for lunch and it was top-notch. Very good gym and pool - nothing to complain about. Haven’t been to the spa yet. Planning to go this afternoon. The staff was second to none. Any minor issues that I had, that are not worth mentioning here, were addressed promptly and professionally.

Adama (8/5): - This was my first time staying at this hotel, which I chose somewhat by chance as it was the first option available during my online booking. I later noticed that it had garnered positive feedback from many other customers, which reassured me about my choice. The quality-to-cost ratio was reasonable, and, as is often the case in Addis Ababa, the staff were friendly, approachable, and always ready to assist. While I appreciated my overall experience, I felt that the room facilities did not quite meet the expectations set by the hotel's advertised 5-star rating. There is room for improvement in this regard to better align with the standards typically associated with such a rating.

We had such a great time and the food was delicious! It's also wonderful to be able to work out in the enormous gym and get your hair done in the beauty salon. Such a great place to spend a weekend! Raymond (8/5): First Class Staff - When we arrived Addishiwut Meieje was extremely helpful, although we were disappointed with the condition of the room she assisted us and moved us to a more appropriate room. Fitsum Tesfaye went the extra mile to escort us to our room and made sure that we were satisfied. During our stay Fitsum and Addishiwut checked on us every day, ensured that everything functioned and that we were comfortable. Gaddisse, and Bezawit made sure that our dining experience was top notch. The entire staff helped me celebrate my birthday it was amazing. The bartender Bethlehem on the 9th floor made our experience top notch and Habtamu helped me celebrate and made the best drinks. Overall the staff made our experience First class! The Capitol Hotel and Spa staff carry this location.

Redeat (8/5): - The checkin was smooth, my booking was a day later than I needed but they booked me a room as a walk-in for a resonance price. Only issue was they didn’t take Amex or Mastercard so had to pay cash. They take dollar based on the day’s exchange rate. The staff was friendly and accommodating but can be slow for room service or at the restaurant.

Mahdi (8/5): - I have an enjoyable stay at the Addis Ababa Capital Hotel and Spa. From the quick checkin experience to the spacious and cozy room. Room service was prompt and responsive. Breakfast spread of local and continental dishes caters well to all guests. Unfortunately I was able to use the Gym, swimming pool and other hotel facilities as I was busy catching up with old friends but definitely will check it out next time I stay at the hotel. Front desk staff were very accommodating to my special requests and IT services which I was really grateful of as they went far and beyond to get my printouts. Definitely recommend this hotel for anyone seeking a great location in Addis and lovely hotel with great facilities.

However, at check-in I was told that breakfast was no included in my room rate -- my reservation did not say so, but the woman checking me in twisted the language around and insisted. This is unheard of in Addis where all the hotels offer breakfast. If I had known that, I would have definitely booked another place.

I got honey wine, kocho, kifo, shiro and the best greens ever! The food and dancing were fantastic. If you want the best experience in Addis, try to the Capital. The swimming pool is heated. The jacuzzi, sauna and steam room are perfect and so clean.

Verified traveler (6/5): - It’s an okay hotel. Nowhere close to a 5 star as you’d expect in other parts of the world. Some staff are nice, others quite rude. Air con didn’t work in room. Got bad gastro on last night and the only food I’d eaten that day was served in the hotel. Also, the airport shuttle bus had too many people waiting for the 6am, so there was a scramble to get a spot. And then it was 25mins late leaving- not ideal when obviously, we all had flights to catch. Had a treatment in the spa. Was good and the ambience was relaxing. Gym is well kitted out.

KUNAL (6/5): Average Hotel - Definitely not a 5 Star - This is just an average business hotel, definitely not a 5 Star Hotel. The hotel need renovation and the service is extremely poor. Only positive thing is that the staff is helpful specifically the concierge.
John (10/5): - Outstanding value. Ten minutes from the airport.Excellent and inexpensive massages in the spa. The lobby restaurant caters to international crowd and is a little pricey (check the menu). Downstairs they have an Ethiopian restaurant that is very reasonable (buffet was 350 birr) and on the night we were there (Sunday) they had outstanding traditional music and dancing. One night we had a suite - roomy and very comfortable, but faces the main road and traffic noise was a little loud. Another night we had a room with a king bed that faced the back and was much quieter. Staff is very nice and helpful.

I was impressed with the helpfulness of the staff, the comprehensive fitness and spa facilities, and the price point. The only disappointing thing would be the breakfast buffet. I would have liked to see a wider selection of food and fresh fruit. Overall, I would recommend it to friends or colleagues and I would return in the future.

john (10/5): A nice oasis in Addis Ababa. - From the pick up at the airport to drop off at the airport I was very pleased with my stay. Even after check out I was allowed to use the pool and spa until I left on the afternoon airport shuttle. The hotel is very clean and the room was very nice. The area around the hotel is a little run down but much of Addis Ababa is run down. I walked around the area a couple of times and I wasn't harassed by anyone. The only thing that I didn't like was they cannot change a $20.00 U.S. bill into smaller U.S. bills. I little having some some U.S. bills when I travel. The Birr bills are very dirty and I prefer to have clean U.S. bills when I travel.

Sjimon (10/5): Most accommodating - A very nice hotel with extremely friendly and helpful people. Kudos to Michael and all the other marvelous personnel! Their pick-up service to and from the hotel is fabulous. What makes it VERY special is their massages. That alone is enough reason to come back. As a matter of fact, we once had a long stop-over in Addis and arranged to be picked up for a massage. Just fabulous!
Xiaoyang (10/5): I love the gym and spa. - I love the gym and spa. Service is not very professional, for example, coming to the room without knocking, but overall it's great stay.
Vanessa (10/5): Nice atmosphere! - Hotel with a very nice overall atmosphere. The room are well equipped and confortable. Just wish I could have opened my window to get some fresh air even if humid outside. Breakfast is just amazing and the ladies so nice. But dinner buffet was too repetitive to my taste, but you can always order on the menu, food is good. Also nice big balcony near restaurant to meet with clients or enjoyed a drink while watching at the sea. Would stay there again.
